It was just another fishing trip for Stew, his wife, and their friends until the storm. Forced off-course to avoid the worst of the swells and lightning, the boat floats into a dead zone filled with large, glowing jellies. Upon investigating an adrift boat, the creatures attack them, sickening one of their party. With the Coast Guard on their way to evacuate them, the four have to survive until help arrives.
From Paul E. Cooley, author of The Black, The Medusa Zone is a suspenseful, deep-sea thriller that will leave you shivering.
What starts out as a fun outing of fishing and snorkeling turns into a nightmare when a group of family and friends are forced to sail into a dead zone to avoid an oncoming storm. It wouldn't be so bad, if it weren't for the thousands of unnatural glowing jellyfish awaiting them.
This was a fun and easy read. Short, sweet, gets straight to the point, and is downright horrific when it comes to the jellies. I made the mistake of eating while reading what happens when you get stung by these monstrosities, its safe to say I lost my appetite shortly after.
It's nothing too special compared to similar stories, but it does scratch that itch (pun intended, you'll know what I mean once you read the book) when you're in the mood for some nautical, monster fun.
