This was a fun read and my first by this author! It might be that I read Collided earlier this year BUT it did give me similar vibes. I am REALLY liking best friends to more, and this one is done well. We have Theo who is a ladies man and has no time for commitment. Work is his focus right now. And then we have Josie, his best friend, who ONLY does relationships. They have been through a lot together. They support each other. And throughout most of their friendship Josie has been with someone, but now she is single for the first time in a long time. I liked the buildup in this one. I loved when Theo realized that he has not wanted to be with anyone else since Josie. Seeing how their relationship shifted ever so slightly to what it ended up with was fun to watch. Josie was hilarious with her relating every situation to a song and her mom being a sex therapist just added a little more to the story.

Josie is officially single and ready to figure out her life. She has determined that there will be no relationships in her immediate future. Of course she has her best friend Theo who is gorgeous but she has to remind herself how important their friendship is to her. She won't mess that up. But then they get drunk and a LOT of things happen. She questions whether they did but when she wakes up to Theo in her bed, it's damage control time. She immediately wants to go back to friends. They can't talk about what happened between them. But Theo is determined to become a regular with Josie. He is like a dog with a bone. He does all of these really sweet gestures for Josie which before she wouldn't think anything about but now she does. So she decides they can do- they can be in a situationship. Which then changes to a true relationship. She decides that if she is willing to do this with anyone, it's Theo. But then when she gets the chance of a lifetime, he reacts poorly. And she finds out that he had all kinds of things going on that he wasn't talking to her about. Will they be able to figure out their stuff and be together for real? If she doesn't work for his team anymore, will they still be able to be together?

Theo is happy with life. He likes no strings and makes that clear up front. But now the new CEO for his company comes with said strings. Theo has bad blood with his daughter and now his contract coming up at the end of the year causes stress rather than happiness. So he does what he does best which is focus on other things. And that continues to be Josie- his best friend who he has ALWAYS wanted to do more with. And then they do! And it's beyond what he could have imagined. But when they wake up Josie wants to go back to friends. He agrees begrudgingly but as time moves on he realizes he has had no urge to seek out other woman. So when she comes to him about a situationship he is all in. But then as time moves on again, he starts to realize how much he likes being her person. He wants to make it official- so he does. And they are good. Great in fact. Until she pulls one on him and wants to stretch out her wings so to speak for work. Theo doesn't handle it well but he has so much going on in his head, he can't think straight. Will he be able to get it together in time to get the woman he loves back as his?

Again super easy read. Liked the characters- including the side ones. I am definitely going to go back and read the first one. I want to read about grumpy pants Blake falling for our girl Ella. I also found myself trying to figure out who else will be matched in this series. I am calling Lucas for the next one- anyone else agree??

Thank you to Valentine PR and Carly for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Theo and Josie are the cutest best friends. Playboy Theo has always been crushing on Josie, but as a serial monogamist she was never single, until she finally is. One super hot one night stand turns to friends with benefits, which of course leads to more. I really enjoyed reading about these two. You can tell how much they cared about each other before anything turned super romantic. The banter was hilarious and top tier. No one cab roast you better than your bestie. They each needed to figure things out for themselves outside of their new relationship leading to some conflict, but luckily they figure everything out for their own HEA. Carly’s F1 books seriously have me considering tuning into the next F1 race.

The story was charming, but I found myself enjoying the first part a bit more. Josie’s sassiness really won me over, and witnessing her development and exploration was delightful. Her drive to pursue her goals was something I truly admired. She and Theo made an adorable pair, though I wished their time together had been extended. The break-up in the third act seemed quite unnecessary, and Theo's anger towards Josie simply because she aspired to a new job didn't sit well with me.

Josie is a character in search of independence. She's outspoken and genuine, which I found refreshing. On the other hand, Theo often fits the stereotype of a player, which can be irritating at times. Despite this, he occasionally shows genuine kindness and thoughtfulness, only to slip back into excessive behavior that I found challenging to reconcile.

Initially, Theo's character was problematic for me—so much so that I skipped some chapters. However, once he entered a relationship and started making an effort, he became more likable. The romance felt authentic, the chemistry was enjoyable, and their casual intimacy came naturally. It was just the journey to reach this point that was difficult.

I felt Theo's storyline was more compelling and structured compared to Josie's, particularly as he navigated career decisions and tried to establish himself. I found these chapters particularly engaging and read them eagerly. Although their romance includes some traditional elements, they worked well for me, and the introduction of side characters added a dynamic twist. The ending was wonderfully sweet, complete with an epilogue that I loved.

Overall, this sports romance eventually reaches a point of understanding and connection that is truly satisfying. However, it requires some perseverance to get there, especially if you're not a fan of player archetypes.

4.25/5⭐️ - slow burn

my first F1 romance ever?? and it was so cute! friends to lovers (that has a believable reason as to why they didn’t pursue something sooner), workplace environment, forced proximity.

this was genuinely so funny and cute. what i loved about this was that the conflict here was basically figuring out your life path and career goals. refreshing then just introducing an ex from the past to cause drama - theo and josie are both at this point in their lives where they’re finally together but also there careers and choosing themselves is creating possible friction.

new to me author and excited to read the rest of the series.

It was a fine read. Theo and Josie's banters were fun to read.
I liked the bromance between Theo and Blake. And also how Josie is a music freak. She has a playlist for everything and I found it amazing.

I like friends to lovers trope but I felt that the friends part was lacking in this one.
Also, the miscommunication and third act break up are not my cup of tea.
Overall the plot was cute and I'm looking forward to reading the third part of this series.

Read it if you like:

Famous formula 1 driver, infamous celebrity, gorgeous looking man, ergo Manwhore. And a proud one at that. Bragging about the countless women he's been with, his obsession with boobs, appreciating a woman's body to be able to commit to one and running after everything that moves in a skirt.

Usually I wouldn't read this type of MMC. The OTT manwhore because yes there are categories, this one is absolutely filthy.

Also, I highly despise books that show MCs having sex and/or oral with ow/m.

And along comes the MFC who has had multiple and multiple partners and has tried a ONS here and there! 🤦‍♀️ Oh and did I fail to mention that she answers with actual songs. She has a freaking song for every freaking moment. why am I still reading?

For one, the writing is cute. The plot is fast paced. And it's funny and I am a big fan of Formula One.

*Deep lung filling and forceful exhaling sigh*

For this book to be inundated with sexual innuendos, it lacks a lot of spiciness. The sex scenes are very very short and most of them happen behind closed doors.

And don't get me started on this generation's phobia of labeling relationships and running away from monogamy as if it's the covid virus on steroids.
Are we friends with benefits? Are we exclusive? Is it an open relationship? Are we dating? Lovers at night and best friends during the day? Good enough to fuck yet not good enough to have feelings for? God save me from these infuriating moral-values-lacking self absorbed with fragile egos woke zombies 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🙄🙄🙄

I understand the third act breakup is totally warranted. Totally believable and absolutely needed. What I do not appreciate however is the week that they were apart that we have no notion of because the author deemed it better to just skip it and jump to their first encounter after the breakup. It's so cold and distant and lacking emotion. Josie just turns into this unphased independent feminist who needs to find herself first without interruptions and/ or interference from the man she claims she loves. They don't work things out as a couple or fight for "their" furture together because apparently "I" matter more than "Us".
I can already see heads rolling and guns blazing if this was actually the man distancing himself and asking for some time off to sort out his shit!

And the time they're apart. We have no insight whatsoever whether they miss each other. Have sleepless nights because of it. Feeling melancholic and depressed. Nothing. Nada. It's as if they took a break. They're moving on. Focusing on their own lives. And could happily start anew with someone else, when they're ready! Zero romance. Zilch.

"I've had enough time on my own. I can be alone, I know
that. And I don't need Theo, but I sure as hell want him."

This is exactly what I mean, true love doesn't exist solo. When you love someone, really love, then no you cannot do it yourself. They're your other half, your soul mate, your confidante, the shoulder you cry on, your support system, your biggest fan, your other half of the cookie, your mood booster. Not the fill in, not the person that comes after you.

Relationships should not be selfish, they're a compromise of wants and needs. And this is what I disagree with with these authors who belive that a woman can take herself to dinner or buy herself some flowers. Everyone can do that but it's only when someone loves you more than themselves is when you actually soar with true happiness and elation.

This is not woman empowerment. This is ridiculing our capabilities. We are parts of a whole, the parts being a man and a woman whom together constitute a successful institution where all needs are met. Both coming first and both being there for each other.

In their hardest part of their relationship Josie and Theo have been apart. They weren't there for each other and only cared about their own personal struggle. If this is what being independent is then this society is going down the drain.

The only reason I give it a star is because I love Formula One and the author is very knowledgeable about it and I felt like I was actually following a real life Formula One driver.

As a part of McAllister’s marketing team, part of Josie’s job is to keep the team’s PR nightmare, Theo, in check, which has led to a very real friendship. A notorious playboy, Theo hasn’t ever looked for anything serious. Just coming out of a long term relationship, Josie isn’t either. After a booze-induced, passionate one-night fling, the two decide they should enter into a friends-with-benefits scenario… but will they be able to make it through unscathed?

I absolutely adored quirky and lovable Josie! So put together and yet a bit of a mess, she is me and I am her! And Theo is such a fun juxtaposition too… lovable and golden retriever but also with his eccentricities. They’re both such perfectly imperfect characters and had such a fun story. I also would die to meet Josie’s mother - she seems like a hoot and a half. This was so cute!

Tropes in this story:
✨Reformed playboy
✨One-night stand
✨Friends-with-benefits arrangement
✨All the forced proximity!
✨He falls first and HARD

I was very grateful to receive this book as an ARC and found it so easy to read and enjoyable. I love that the FMC and MMC were both had sunshine personalities rather than having a grumpy character, it was refreshing to read something where both characters had a golden retriever personality.

I personally really enjoyed the F1 language, Carly Robyn clearly knows about the sport or has done some in depth research which was great compared to some other sports romances I’ve read where the sport wasn’t explored as much.

I would have enjoyed a little more tension before the friends became lovers, but that’s just personal preference, I do feel as if the relationship developed quickly but this isn’t a bad thing, for me I just enjoy quite a bit of tension before characters get together.

I loved the use of playlists and music references in this book, and found aspects of it very funny! (Theo was a very funny character and made me giggle a lot).

I felt as if Theo was very alike to Lando Norris, which is why I think I enjoyed this as Lando is one of my favourite F1 drivers🏎️

Overall this was a very fun romance, and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Thank you to penguin and carly for sending me this early!

Count me in.

3.5 stars.

To start, I know absolutely nothing about formula one. Even though I’m unfamiliar with F1, the plot of this book still reads like a classic sports romance and I can absolutely appreciate that. Was any of it accurate? I’ll truly never know because I don’t see myself ever actually watching a race.

As for the romance: I love a friends to lovers trope but I do feel like we kinda skipped the friends part here. We were told that they’re best friends and that they’ve been friends for years but we saw absolutely none of it. It was nice that we didn’t have to go through any awkward learning to be comfortable around each other time, but I still felt unsatisfied with their friendship.

The bulk of the relationship was easy and simple and was nice to read. By the third act breakup I was bored and I already knew exactly what was going to happen and I just wanted to be done reading. Theo and Josie both seem like great characters I just feel like we didn’t -quite- get enough background on either of them.

Overall, the plot was fun and telling someone about this book would be a good time. But, if you don’t really care about sports romances, you don’t need to pick this one up.

Ahhh Josie and Theo my sweet angles! this book by far has to be my favourite in this trilogy, the banter, the chemistry, and the slow burn was so good, they are such a funny duo I was giggling from how funny they were and also giggling and kicking my feet from the cuteness that they are. this book has such a great plot. I was intrigued from the get-go. Josie’s love for music was such a great touch in this book. Seeing so many great music choices and playlist was so fun and added such a great element to the story. I also loved seeing the Blake and Ella cameos cannot wait for the last book Drive me home!!

theodore walker is your typical famous formula one driver; cocky, full of his face on the tabloids and a fame for being a fuck boy. we all know them, we’ve all seen them, but theo has a good heart. he’s a softie on the inside and only shows it to the people he cares the most about.

josephine bancroft, josie, is in charge of most of her friends medias account; from advertising to helping in podcasts she is an overachiever at best. being friends with such famous people on the team has its benefits though and she is obviously doing something that she loves and puts so much passion into. and let me say, the girl IS talented.

unfortunately for these two best friends, they have been through some tough love. josie has recently broken up with her long term boyfriend and theo is obviously still partying but trying to find some sort of meaning on his life.

follow these two for the funniest yet most romantic story i have ever seen, filled with pop culture hidden (and not so hidden sometimes) references and even the sexual innuendos that never seem to leave theo’s thoughts!

in all honesty, this was an amazing read, from beginning to end, making me laugh and reminding people out there that if you’re too much for someone, then you shouldn’t be in their life; you will never be too much for someone who truly deserves you!

Thank you so much to the author Carly Robyn for having me on her street team!!!

This book is out tomorrow - Oct 24th!

Content Warnings from the Author:

"Theo?"
"Yeah, Jos?"
"You're my favorite."

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of reading Drive Me Crazy and I absolutely LOVED it! It was my first Formula One romance and I was hooked since. And once again I am head over with Carly's writing and the world she has created with these characters.

I absolutely loved Theo and Josie's relationship & their banter was top notch! Theo is naturally flirty and is known as the playboy of the group but there was something Josie that made him want to change his ways. They had such a great friendship and Josie especially was nervous if they have sex, what it would do to that aspect of their relationship. Once it happened, they knew things couldn't be the same. Their love for each other is so strong even without the intimacy. They have such a mutual respect for one another. Theo left everything in Jos's court and followed her lead on things.

One thing I love that was such a small piece of the book but I thought it was really creative of the author to do. Music is very important to Josie and Theo knew that and made her a playlist. But the playlist spelled out sentences and then she responded in a playlist with sentences. It was just such a moment and a pivotal turn for the characters.

"You're my biggest adventure and my safe space all rolled into one gorgeous girl with a fantastic rack."
"That was very sweet until you brought my tits into it."

Though some of my favorite moments where when Theo and Josie were together, I can't overlook the growth that each of them had throughout the book. Theo has this guilt looming over him for wanting to leave McAllister but feels like he can't because it was his dad's former team & a team he loved prior to his passing. The addition of the new owner does not make things easy for him. He doesn't know if he should continuing with a team that meant so much to his family or move forward to a new team that won't hold him down? Josie in a way like Theo feels stunted in her current position has the marketing manager for McAllister. She does freelance work for her friend Ella but an offer to work with a chef and his upcoming restaurant makes her contemplate her role with the team.

I just thoroughly enjoyed this book so much & I'm looking forward to the next book in the series that will be coming out next year! We are introduced to Theo's sister Charlotte and a certain race car driver catches her eye.

If you are a sucker for friends to lovers, formula one, banter, music references, workplace romance - this one is for you! Also bonus you do not need to read the first book to understand this one but it definitely helps as you catch up with the stars of the first book.

✨ARC REVIEW✨

3.5✨

I absolutely loved Drive Me Crazy. When it comes to the next book in a series, I am always so hesitant to hype it up in my mind or compare it to the previous one. So for this, I went in with very minimal expectations and just let it be.

I want to make it very clear that I did enjoy this book. I thought it was cute, funny, playful, emotional, and overall really sweet. Where I totally loved part one of this book, halfway in I found myself skimming a lot of the inner dialogue and just wanting to get to the heart of the storylines.

What I loved about this book:

Theo's storyline was great. He's trying to honor his late father by racing for McAllister. He wants to do this with Josie, his best friend, by his side. He's also facing hardships with the new boss man, who has a vendetta against him. He's torn on what decisions he needs to make for himself. I really loved his personality. I loved his humor and egotistical obnoxiousness. He's cheeky but adorable and really does have a heart of gold. I loved the emotional connection he has with his father and I kind of wish we had more moments that just purely centered around that.

I enjoyed Josie's decisions to find herself and what she wants in life.

I enjoyed Josie and Theo's flirtatious banter.

I enjoyed the bromance between Blake and Theo.

What I didn't enjoy about this book:

Josie and Theo's friendship was already established before the book starts but I just felt like I missed something. I was also kind of bummed we didn't get to experience their first time together...together. Like, we get flashbacks of the night but again, I felt like I was missing something. I just wanted better background of their friendship.

The quirkiness of Theo and Josie were adorable at first but then got a little to quirky for my liking. I don't mind things being too cheesy but ahh I don't know, I wasn't totally loving all the quirks as much as I wanted to.

The 3rd act breakup was rough. I LOVE Theo but the way he acted gave me the ick. He was kind of having a lot going on with how he was expressing himself towards the end and I just wanted better considering his personality traits.

Josie's mom...I'm SO SORRY if you love her but it's weird.

I felt like there was a lack of communication throughout this book. No one really ever talks about their problems or works to solve them, they just bottled it up.

I feel bad for even saying these things because the story itself was super cute. I think there was just a lot going on storyline wise. Theo stood out more for me than Josie. I did enjoy the epilogue and thought it was fitting considering the humor. I wanted to be hooked but there was just something missing in a lot of areas for me.

Will this stop me from reading Carly's books? OMG NO! I definitely will continue. I will also continue to recommend this series. If you are looking for a fun and playful F1 romance then I'd recommend, for sure. This just wasn't fully it for me and that's okay.

Thank you so much to Valentine PR and Carly Robyn for the arc copy!

Drive Me Wild ARC Review

i was very fortunate to receive an ARC of Drive Me Wild by Carly Robyn from ValentinePr, thank you so much!! 💜

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶️🌶️/5

content warning: explicit language, references to the death of a parent (past, off-page) and a main character who was adopted as a newborn. it is a slow-burn, open-door romance that portrays sexual content and is meant for readers 18+.

“loving you is easy, baby. the hard part would be trying to stop.”

the first book in this series, drive me crazy, was the first time i had ever read a formula 1 romance and i’ve been hooked ever since!!! ! i could not wait until we got josie and theo’s story and carly did not disappoint. this book was funny, flirty, and full of heartfelt moments!! i love that carly is able to provide us with a story that is equal parts romance and f1 racing! and throwing in little cameos of ella and blake made my heart happy! also, i will eat up friends to lovers every single time!!!

josie and theo were everything! i loved everything about them, their banter, their chemistry, their genuine friendship. i loved getting to see their romantic relationship develop and grow as they became more than just friends. and them making playlists for each other, filled with secret messages!!! it had my kicking my feet in the air and giggling at the cuteness! it just made their connection feel so genuine and sweet. now there is a third-act breakup but i actually loved how it played out in this book. it suited the story well, allowing both characters to grow as individuals.

i cannot wait for the next book in this series!! thank you once again to valentinepr and carly robyn for giving me the chance to read drive me wild early! 💜

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥

Theo Walker is the most golden retriever MMC to ever golden retriever and I absolutely love him. This man is a combo of sunshine and BDE wrapped up in an Australian package and I am a puddle on the floor for him. 🫠

Theo and Josie are one of my favorite friends to lovers couples I’ve read in a bit, and I enjoyed this book so, so much.

Also please give me more formula 1 racing, thank you very much. I need it! Ans you can absolutely tell that the author loves the sport and loves writing romances about it.

💜 Formula 1 Racing
💜 Sunshine x Sunshine
💜 Workplace Romance
💜 Friends to Lovers
💜 He falls first

Theo and Josie are just adorable together. I loved watching him flirt and flirt with her until she finally let herself fall for him. I love the way that they showed up for each other, and the way he did things for her that were sentimental and so so sweet.

And the spice was so so good.

Also I have to mention that’s the bromance between him and Blake (the grumpy MMC from book 1) was also so as good as the relationship between he and Josie. Almost.

Bottom line, this is a great read and not too much negative and I ate up every word.

This was cute; I just think I enjoyed the first one a bit more. Josie was so sassy, and I loved her for that. Watching her grow and explore was great, and I really valued her determination to go after what she wanted. She and Theo were cute together, but I would have loved to see them together longer. The third-act break-up felt super unnecessary and I didn't like how angry Theo got at Josie all because she wanted a new job. I liked that she was British and he was Australian as it made for fun banter. Overall, I enjoyed it, just not my favorite. Thanks to Carly Robyn for providing me an e-ARC to read and review!

I loved this so much. Seriously. It was so dang cute. What’s not to love about two sunshine MC’s going from friends to lovers?! BINGE. WORTHY. 𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑴𝒆 𝑾𝒊𝒍𝒅 was romantic, funny, sweet, and full of cute banter. I knew I was going to enjoy this book after meeting 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘰 + 𝘑𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘦 in Drive Me Crazy but I truly fell in love with these characters and their story while reading this book. They were both easy to connect with, and so lovable. Every shared moment had me giddy, and don’t even get me started on the playlists they made each other. Total swoon. And that epilogue?! Tears. The true love and happiness 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘰 + 𝘑𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘦 found together made my heart so happy.

This is the second book in the Drive Me series, and it’s a sweet, funny, and heartwarming read! Josie, the marketing manager for McCallister Racing, and Theo, one of their star drivers, are best friends until one tipsy night changes everything. Their spark leads them to try a friends with benefits arrangement, but it doesn’t take long for them to realize there’s more to their relationship than just chemistry. As they navigate career challenges and personal growth, their relationship is put to the test. If you're looking for a flirty, lighthearted story with plenty of heart, this one would be perfect for you!

Thank you, Carly Robyn and Valentine PR for the ARC.
