I’m burnt out! Being a global chef and traveling the world will do that. Enough LA, enough London, and enough Paris.
I travel to a remote chateau in upstate New York, to cook for a wealthy old recluse.
Only Harry is not old, and the young, hot CEO has demands. That may have worked out fine if we had not met the night before.
And spent the night together, doing things. Wicked things.
Stuck on his remote estate with its lake, forests, horses, and chateau is one thing. Daily cooking for and serving the hottest guy I’ve ever seen, kissed, and been claimed by is too much.
As Harry puts together the world’s biggest entertainment conglomerate, he controls himself around me. Even if I do everything to trip him up, his focus is pure, unlike my thoughts.
Harry’s megadeal hits a final obstacle. To secure a deal with a massive Asian company, he needs to prove he has settled down. That is when the ex-bachelor playboy asks me to act as his fiancé.
After refusing the fake relationship, I make my demands, and we take off alone in his private jet.
I can be his again, but only if he agrees: I come at a price.
Really hard to read. The writing was very awkward. I never got invested in the h and H. I think the author wanted to keep things mysterious but it just didn't work. They both just came off weird. The dialogue did not make sense. I skimmed the last 40%.
I absolutely adored Samantha and Harrison. The banter and tension these two had was amazing! It was a little chaotic, a little heartbreaking, a little of everything I didn’t know I needed and it was amazing!
I received Taming the King in return for an honest review.
Sam is starting over and on her way to the new house where she will be a chef she has a wild one night stand little did she know he just happens to be Harry the man she's been hired to cook for. Neither of them can deny the attraction and the more time they spend together the more the connection grows. They both have issues and reasons why it will never work but sometimes the leap is worth it all.
I was finger crossing that her mystery man would be her future boss because they just had this undeniable steamy chemistry. The relationship is a perfect balance of sweet steamy connections and spicy romance. I loved the story of Harry and Tusk he pulled at my heartstrings it just made me fall in love with Harry more. The best part was the one day a year when everything flips I just loved it.
I devoured Taming the King in one day I was hooked right from the start and I couldn't put it down. I had to see how Sam and Harry's story was going to play out. The author has done a beautiful job creating a story that captures the heart as well as the imagination. I laughed, and cried as it's an emotional story but I loved every moment of it. This is my first book by the author and I'm obsessed I can't wait to read more of her books.
This was my first time reading Dani Da Silva, and Taming the King took a little while for me to get into. The opening chapters felt somewhat chaotic, and at first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue.
Once the story found its rhythm, the writing began to flow much better and I started to really enjoy it—especially the main characters, Samantha and Harrison. They have great chemistry and fantastic banter. The little comments and exchanges between them had me laughing out loud more than once, and both MCs are very likeable.
There’s also a nice message woven into the storyline about living your life to the fullest and enjoying it while you can, because you only get one chance and there are no do-overs. I appreciated that underlying theme.
Overall, this is a readable and enjoyable book once it settles, and I’m glad I stuck with it. I do plan to continue the series and read Troy’s story.
Thank you to the author for the copy—this is my honest review.
Taming the King by Dani Da Silva. This book definitely wrapped me in. I love a good billionaire falls for the average girl story. Sam’s carefree live life to the fullest definitely challenges Harrison’s scheduled, workaholic life. The fight to stay away and the back and forth banter had me laughing. The spice level is 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ in this book. Harrison is just perfection in the best book boyfriend kinda way. I love the overall heart and emotion in this story. It’s definitely a top read this year for me.
This book was great, intense with humor and lots of romance. Started out a little unbelievable but quickly changed and easy to understand the reasons for the drama. Harrison’s part was great, very poignant about Tusk. The pity party about Samantha was all wrong and I wish could have been handled differently. But everything got back on track. A very long ending as if the author didn’t want to turn loose of the main characters which was ok because I didn’t want to either.
I liked the characters from the beginning and with Samantha calling Harrison Grumpy was perfect. Their story was full of wit and romance, at least when Harry decided to give into his attraction to Sam. This was a great, fun romance with two who truly belonged together.
This was a great read and I enjoyed it a lot! Our female protagonist was very spunky, I found myself even taken aback myself by how witty she was at times. I loved her. Mr Grumpy was so cute while floundering in the tide of the love that was clearly sweeping him away like his little bridges were lol! Great romantic read with a dash of danger in her ex and a lot of wit in his business pals.
I loved this book from the start, it had spice, tension, and banter between the 2 MCs had me laughing. Samantha and Harrison had me rooting for them from the beginning. I am not one to give spoilers away, but if you like a normal average girl meeting a billionaire and in the middle throw in a lot of spice, tension and banter that can make you laugh, then pick up this book. Plus there is a little heartbreak.
- I literally adore Samantha and Harrison relationship - I love the banter and the tension but these two kept it amazing - this book had everything with little chaotic and little heartbreaking - I love how Samantha calls Harrison Grumpy but it was so perfect - they truly belong together - I can't wait till I read the rest of the series
I found this book enjoyable. The characters, Samantha & Harry built a great relationship through bantering back a fourth and Harry finally letting his guard down. It has spice from the get-go and holds interest. This is a new to me author and I’m not sure if the writing style always has “text slang” or not, but I find that distracting in a novel. Overall, a good story. Thank you for the ARC!
I love a book that has spice right at the beginning. It dragged me in and did not let go! It hit just right! The banter and tension between Sam and Harry was amazing! Hilarious at times too! This book made me feel so many emotions. It was a good and nice read!
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters (Sam and Harry) are great and I loved their bantering back and forth. The storyline hooked me from the start and held my attention all the way through. I recommend reading this enjoyable book.
