A mysterious time capsule, a festive bucket list, and a holiday surprise baked with love—Christmas in Charlotte Oaks just got a whole lot sweeter.
When Colton Hayes and I stumble across a decades-old time capsule hidden in my fireplace—with a “Christmas in Charlotte Oaks” bucket list inside—he insists we team up to tackle it together.
In fact, not only does he want me to join him in a festive scavenger hunt, but he's also determined to track down the time capsule's original owner. And even worse? His biggest goal is to convince me to see Christmas the way he does—full of magic and meaning.
But I've spent years keeping this holiday—and my heart—on lockdown. And yet, the more we check off the list, the harder it is to keep Colton at arm’s length. Especially when he pulls off the cookie surprise of a lifetime.
He says every Christmas wish is a chance for something special... but if I make a wish, am I ready for it to come true?
A White Chocolate Christmas Wish is set in the world of the Love in Charlotte Oaks series, where you'll find families as sweet as the tea, hot veterans who've returned home to find true love, and a beloved pet goat who has the habit of coming in clutch to save the day.

It was nice to be back in Charlotte Oaks and to see a few familiar faces! I struggled to connect with Hope and Colton, although I liked them well enough from reading Dakota’s book. The nature of a short book is that it’s, well, short. And I kinda wished we’d gotten more.
I am a big fan of sweet and clean romance books and this book definitely fits in that category with a fun Christmas twist!
This book tells the story of Hope and Colton as Hope learns to embrace a love of Christmas and a love of Colton. This book is both sweet and funny and a quick little read.
It is a stand-alone book but can also be read as part of the Charlotte Oaks series.
Thanks to Jess Mastorakos for a review copy. All opinions are 100% my own.
Cute but kinda boring. I will say I read all 12 of these novellas and there were a few I really enjoyed and even looked into other books by those authors. But each one of these brought the Christmas vibes which is what I needed. Easy fun way to get 12 more books to my 2024 list. I also loved that a recipe was included with each story. 😋🍪
This was super sweet! Hope and Colton are adorable and I love the way Colton wants to bring back the magic of Christmas. The chemistry between the two is so sweet and the kisses were adorable. Colton was an absolute golden retriever, and was the sunshine to Holly's more subdued personality.
– this is part of a series, but meant to be read as a stand-alone
– this is connected to Jess Mastorakos’s Love in Charlotte Oaks series (most closely with How I Love You as that’s when we meet Colton & his coworker). You don’t have to read the series to enjoy this story, but it might be a good idea to at least read How I Love You to get to know these two a bit more beforehand as well as what Gertie’s importance in Charlotte Oaks is
– this is told from Hope & Colton’s points of view
-it is mentioned that a character’s grandparent passed a few years ago
Review:
This was really cute! I loved that we got a story for Hope and Colton after reading their friends’ story in How I Love You! I loved the cute holiday activities the two of them did together. 😍 I also loved that Hope was willing to try enjoying Christmas again and that Colton didn’t try pushing the list activities on her if she didn’t seem interested in any part.
Summary:
Hope has been keeping her distance from Christmas festivities most of her life. But when she discovers an old time capsule hidden in her fireplace and calls Colton over to help get it out, he decides to bring the Christmas spirit to her. With a list to aid their Christmas plans, Hope isn’t sure if she’ll enjoy the holidays like Colton does but she might enjoying spending time with him…
Colton fell for Hope when he first came to Charlotte Oaks and never stopped hoping for more with her. So when an old Christmas list of holiday activities surfaces in Hope’s home, Colton is glad she called him. Not only will he be able to spend more time with her, but he also might be able to bring joy back to her holiday season…
'"I wish I could see Christmas the way you do." Her words hit me right in the chest, and it took me a minute to recover before I could reply. "Well, I guess I'll just have to make that happen won't I?" She snorted delicately, almost like she didn't believe I could. Once again, challenge accepted.'
Okay, this was adorable! I loved getting back to Charlotte Oaks and it's pretty magical at Christmas. A FMC who is feels some deep grief during the holidays and a MCC who brings the Christmas cheer wherever he goes!
I loved the scavenger hunt, Christmas wishes and the real heartfelt kind of romance this book gave me!
If you love Christmas romance, cozy stories and heartfelt connections wrapped up neatly in a novellette sized package-this would be a great book for you! The best news? It's available TODAY!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Content/Triggers: grief (especially around the holidays), romance-kisses only.
I thoroughly enjoyed this friends-to-more Christmas novella! It may have been a short story, but it still had a lot of substance to it, and it was so fun to return to Charlotte Oaks.
I loved Colton and Hope's heartwarming romance. It was sweet how he tried to make Christmas a wonderful experience for her again. All the Christmas activities and feels in the story were so fun and brought a lot of Christmas spirit and cheer to life.
If you’re looking for a quick, feel-good holiday romance, this is a delightful one to check out.
When a mysterious time capsule with a Perfect Christmas Scavenger Hunt List shows up in Hope’s fireplace, the first person she calls is Colton. He decides they should do the tasks on the list and try to find the person who put it there.
Hope and Colton have opposite views of Christmas. Colton is the ultimate Christmas elf, throwing himself into the festive spirit. Hope is much more Grinchy, she lost her grandfather at Christmas and cannot bring herself to see the magic. That is until Colton starts showing her how to embrace Christmas and give it another chance. They made such a sweet pair, seeing Colton’s enthusiasm rub off on Hope and how she started to see the wonder of the season was endearing.
The mystery of the time capsule too was sweet, a first love that was buried but never truly forgotten.
A Christmas wish list, a cute interfering goat, lots of Christmas cheer, & a sweet romance made The White Chocolate Christmas Wish a delicious treat! Loved returning to Charlotte Oaks for Colton’s & Hope’s story. This friends to more, mutual attraction romcom was just the ticket for a quick, enjoyable Christmas read.
Hope doesn’t like celebrating Christmas ever since her grandma died. Now that her grandpa has passed away too & she’s left all alone, she really isn’t in the Christmas mood. But, when she discovers a Christmas to do list buried in her grandpa’s fireplace & a handsome private investigator who wants to fulfill all the items on the list, she might just change her mind.
Colton has been in love with Hope since the moment he met her. With the help of Gertie the goat & a little Christmas magic, he might just get his wish for a closer relationship with Hope. But when something unexpected comes up, will he be able to make all Hope’s Christmas wishes come true?
This cute novella was such a joy to read! It was easily devoured in a day. There was quite a bit packed into this darling story & I loved Colton’s & Hope’s sweet romance with all the Christmas feels. Colt’s especially sensitive to Hope’s needs & I loved all the ways he tries to make the holidays enjoyable for her again. Their first kiss was adorable especially under the holly. IYKYK! Loved the gluten intolerance rep that was effortlessly woven in too.
It was so fun seeing familiar characters from the Charlotte Oaks series & I loved reconnecting with them. It’s also part of the Christmas Kisses & Cookie Crumbs series. In both cases, it’s easily read as a standalone. It’s a perfect, delightful read for a busy holiday season! I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are my own & voluntarily provided. 4-4.5 stars!
I’m back in Tennessee for this story and I love it! One of my favorite fictional places in the south, that I have not spent nearly enough time in is Charlotte Oaks (mental note to visit again in the New Year)! This small town is cute and quaint, literally everything you would want, and Jess Mastorakos is at the helm of it all! This story is adjacent to the other books based there, but no less special!
Hope gives off Grinchy vibes. It isn’t her fault entirely, but after losing so many people over the course of her life and one of the most important around Christmas time in her youth, she clearly has her reasons. When she stumbles across a time capsule that has a list for creating the perfect Christmas in the small town amongst the floorboards in her grandpa’s old house, she’s skeptical. With some clever and friendly negotiating, if you can even call it that, she reluctantly agrees to attempt to complete list.
Colton (aka Mr. Negotiator), one of the town’s private investigators gets Holly to submit to his plea to do the list. Some items are simple traditions most of us don’t give a second thought to, but with Holly’s guarded exterior he knows he must tread carefully! The more time the pair spend with each other, the harder it becomes to deny their chemistry! Love that, so so much!
Between Gertie the goat (honorary town mascot) – she’s seen in every one of the books, the list, the mysterious other objects that are in the capsule, and some Christmas wishes magic happens! I adored this story! Even if I hadn’t read the series it’s attached to, I would love it! Some of the previous MCs make appearances and help to round out this novelette! So if you are looking for a cute Christmas read to boost your holiday spirit, this one should be added to your festive TBR ASAP! Job well done Jess!
The White Chocolate Christmas Wish is part of the Christmas Kisses and Cookie Crumbs series- a multi-author series of short and sweet standalone holiday romances. It is also connected to the author's Love in Charlotte Oaks series. I had not yet personally read any of the books in that series and found I was able to enjoy this one just fine as a standalone.
This was such a cute holiday read. Colton and Hope had a really sweet and easy chemistry that was just very enjoyable to read. She wasn't big on the holidays when the story started, but when they find a list of Christmas activities, I love that he wants to show her how wonderful the holidays can be. With great chemistry, lots of holiday festivities and some goat mischief, this one made me smile throughout! At under 100 pages, it's definitely a quick read--- easily read in under an hour but it didn't feel super rushed or incomplete--- just the perfect bite size holiday romance for this busy season! While I've had many of her books on my TBR for some time now, this was actually the first Jess Mastorakos book that I'd actually read and was the perfect introduction to have me wanting to move them up the list and read ASAP!
The White Chocolate Christmas Wish is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
This is another one of those bite sized nuggets from the Christmas Kisses and Cookie Crumb series. I loved the story in this one.
Hope has not had the heart for Christmas in a while. She is not grinchy. She has lost her holiday spirit. When Hope and Colton find a time capsule in her fireplace with a Christmas in Charlotte Oaks bucket list, Colton is ready to get started immediately. He is gung ho for this scavenger hunt/bucket list. Hope is not so excited, but she grudgingly agrees to work on the list.
This was such a sweet book. Colton's excitement about Christmas is contagious, and Hope finds herself catching a little Christmas spirit along the way. From building gingerbread houses, baking cookies and finding a Christmas tree, the hunt was all about Christmas. I loved the idea of a scavenger hunt/bucket list. The characters were easy to like as well. If you have an hour, maybe a little less, you can read this book and maybe increase your Christmas spirit a little and believe in a little Christmas magic.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Title: The White Chocolate Christmas Wish Author: Jess Mastorakos Ch: 9 plus epilogue Pg:80 Series: Charlotte oaks holiday short story Genre: Rom com Rating: 4.5 stars Publisher:
The White Chocolate Christmas wish by Jess Mastorakos is part of the Christmas Kisses and Cookie Crumbs novella collection. But it’s also a Charlotte Oaks short story. So if you loved that series and Christmas novella then this books is for you.
After Hope and Colton find a Christmas in Charlotte Oaks bucket list inside he’s determined to make it a Christmas she’ll always remember. This was a sweet short story only 80 pages which I read in about an hour. After reading How I love you I wanted more of Colton and Hope and this Christmas story was the right amount for those two characters. And I loved that Gertie the goat made an appearance.
I received a copy of this book from the author as part of a blog tour I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
4.5 stars Ah, this was a cute and sweet novella! I loved getting to see Hope and Colton have their happy ending! The romance was sweet and I enjoyed their interactions. I love how Colton tried so hard to help Hope have Christmas memories again. Hope found her Christmas spirit in Colton as they spent time together and completed the Christmas bucket list. The characters were fun and it was the perfect bite sized read! The White Chocolate Christmas Wish: A Charlotte Oaks Sweet Holiday Short Read by Jess Mastorakos is a fantastic short read that gives all of the tingles of crushes and the swoon of a cinnamon roll MMC. Get cozy and clear your schedule for an hour – you will not want to miss out on Colton and Hope!
Things to love: “Challenge Accepted” Tangled in the lights Mischievous Goat Christmas Wishes Mistletoe Cookie delivery The ending!
I loved this quick read from start to finish and it was just what I needed to rest my mind and brighten my spirits. This is my first visit to Charlotte Oaks and I cannot wait to dive into more! This novella is a standalone in the Christmas Kisses and Cookie Crumb series.
Another sweet, Christmas Novella! This book has cozy Christmas vibes, a little hint of mystery, sweet romance, & a Christmas bucket list! Hope is not a fan of Christmas after the loss of her grandfather & has experienced everyone leaving her. Colton lives Christmas & is determined to make Hope's Christmas one to remember. They come across a hidden cookie tin at Hope's grandfather's house & inside is a bucket list of the Christmas must dos in Charlotte Oaks. The bucket list made this such a fun read & unexpectedly helped Hope enjoy Christmas & form annual traditions with Colt! I enjoyed reading about the couple checking off each bucket list item, them making a Christmas wish.
I received an ARC copy of this book, the above review is my own opinion.
I absolutely devoured this novella! I had so much fun with this book. We start with Hope finding a box in the fireplace ad she calls Colton to come over to see what it is. That's when they discover it's a time capsule.
Hope isn't into the Christmas spirit but when Colton and her come together with this time capsule things start to change. Colton will slowly start to break down Hope's walls and get her into the holiday spirit. Colton will definitely have you swooning.
This book will get you into the Christmas Spirit, make you laugh, swoon and have you smiling throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and loved Jess Mastorakos writing style as well. I would HIGHLY recommend this novella.
Thank you Jess Mastorakos for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
It's the Christmas season and Colton and Hope come together in this short sweet read and find love. Hope is unwilling to enter into the joy of Christmas as she still bears the pain of her loss but Colton is determined to help her leave the past and embrace the present and future. I enjoyed reading this book and glad that Hope learnt to appreciate every moment and experience joy even as she found true love and peace with Colton. A beautiful love story. I loved the Christmas vibes and the gentle way Colton helped Hope rediscover her joy. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I am so glad that Colton & Hope got their own sweet romance! And what better way to bring the Charlotte Oaks Series to an end than with a Christmas novella?!
I have really loved this series and this novella was like the icing on the cake! (Or Christmas cookie lol) I loved Colton when we met him in Tucker and Dakota's book and I could just see that he and Hope would be a great match.
This Christmas novella was such a sweet story and I loved the time capsule idea it centered around! Helping Hope get her Christmas spirit back was the perfect way to watch her and Colton fall in love.
All in all, this was a perfect short read for the holiday season!
"I wish..." Hope began softly, "I wish I could see Christmas the way you do." This sweet Christmas novella was so delightful! I loved getting to see a continuation of the Charlotte Oaks series and seeing Hope and Colton's relationship deepen and grow! Because of her past, Hope struggles trusting and getting into the Christmas season, but Colton has extra joy for the season to share and wants to prove that he is someone that Hope can depend on. I so enjoyed their discovery and checking off the list of Christmas activities together. The cookies also played such a delightful part! This one was so heart warming and lovely!
When Colton and Hope stumble across at old time capsule hidden in the fireplace of her house. Colton wants to complete the bucket list inside the time capsule and help Hope get some holiday cheer.
I really enjoyed reading about Colton and Hope. The friends to more and the sweet progression to their HEA was just so cute. Gertie was just a special treat added in to their relationship.
This is a cute, short holiday story to help get you into the holiday spirit that can be read in one sitting.
The White Chocolate Christmas Wish is the last book Christmas Kisses and Cookie Crumbs multi author series.
This is the first book I’ve read by Jess Mastorakos and I loved it! It’s such a cute Christmas story! When Hope’s grandmother passed away when she was young, her family stopped celebrating Christmas. All these years later and she still doesn’t. With the help of Colton, the man she has a crush on, and a time capsule they find, she embraces the holiday season once again while falling in love. This is truly heartwarming and I love all of the holiday traditions that are in the book! This is set in the world of Charlotte Oaks and I am hooked! This small town sounds amazing and I’d love to see what happens with the other residents in the town.
This is a short and sweet Christmas story. When Hope discovers a cookie tin while cleaning her fireplace, she enlists Colton to help retrieve it for her. To their surprise the tin held several items. One of the items included was a bucket list of things to do for Christmas in Charlotte Oaks. Colton is enthusiastic about trying to complete each one. Hope not so much but she concedes to do so. Will the magic of discovering Christmas in Charlotte Oaks bring them together?
We get dropped right into all the action when Hope and Colton find a time capsule that encourages them to complete a list on how to have the best Christmas in their little town. This is a friends with chemistry to more story, and because it is novella length, we get to enjoy a speedy romance complete with mistletoe (or holly... or any evergreen option, really, as these two need no reason to do lots of smooching!). The list brings them, and the reader, to a satisfying HEA.
I received a complimentary copy of the author's story to read and review. All thoughts contained here are my own.
This story is rich in wonderful “falling in love” vibes and Christmas nostalgia. The way we experience Christmas changes as we grow older and family connections reshape themselves. That is why tradition is important. It gives us a way to frame and recall precious memories.
This quick sweet Christmas read works as a stand alone, although it is part of a series. There were a couple of minor references that made me aware that at least one other story preceded this one, however, they were nothing that detracted the enjoyment of this story.
The White Chocolate Cookie Wish is a clean contemporary novella.
This was a cute but also sweet novella! The White Chocolate Cookie Wish is written by Jess Mastorakos. It’s the 12th book in the multiple author series, Christmas Kisses and Cookie Crumbs series. The romance was sweet and I loved their interactions. I love how Colton tried so hard to help Hope. Hope found her Christmas spirit because Colton. Loved the Christmas bucket list! The characters were adorable, sweet and fun! I didn’t want it to end. I loved getting to see Hope and Colton have their happy ending!
This is such a sweet and charming short story, filled with a romance and lots of Christmas spirit. When Hope finds an old tin in her fireplace she calls on Colton to open it with her, as they find a bucket list of things to do for the perfect Christmas in this wonder small town of Charlotte Oaks. Hope is really not into Christmas spirit but Colton is able to convince her to try out the bucket list with him.
