The first rule of dealing with an alpha male vampire? Don’t let him think he owns you. Being “claimed” by a possessive vampire was so not on my to-do list. But here I am, with Baden declaring me his One. Picture me eye-rollin’. I’m working my way through grad school by day and ride-share gigs by night, which is more than enough for this BBW. So why does his clenched jaw, crimson eyes and aphrodisiac scent make me want to crawl onto his lap and live there? I thought I’d be smarter than this after seeing my parent’s relationship. But it turns out, escaping an OTT possessive mate isn’t as easy as it sounds… especially when I’m not sure I even want to.

Merri is my One. And I’m no happier about it than she is. I’ve already lost one woman I loved, and I’m in no hurry to lose—or love—another. But she’s stealing my thoughts like she did my parking spot. Which shouldn’t be fun, but Merri is everything I never expected—brilliant, stubborn, and driving me mad. A little sass never bothered me, but that damn ride-share job? That’s a problem. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe—even if it means keeping her all to myself.

Started off good but got lost along the way

Story started off strong with humor and distinct character personalities, but as it progressed, both characters blended into one bland, forgettable presence. The humor fizzled out, and Merri’s constant “I hate bonds because of my parents” refrain became grating. Hard to believe this was only 95 pages—it felt longer, but thankfully, it wasn’t. Next time, I’m checking the page count before downloading.

I've been following this author's Curvy Girl paranormal books every time she writes one. And I have to say this one is my absolute favorite. The chemistry between Baden and Merri is just as intense as it is captivating, in my opinion. The pull of being fated mates is so strong, but Baden and Merri both have their reasons why they fight so hard against it until they can't. Their happily ever after was far from easy. But the journey was beautiful, funny, anxious, sexy, uplifting, and downright cute. I'm 4 words, this book was fire!! 🔥🔥🔥 And to think it all started because of a dang parking space. Great story! I can't wait for the next Curvy Girl book.

I basically skim read this when it was clear Merri had an issue with being claimed by Baden.

Bonding, mating is a key thing in every vampire story so for the FMC being so against it, the MMC being for it and this being the basis of their back and forth conflict, it was exhausting.

And the fact that Merri only capitulated after the ride share incident, not because she fundamentally wanted it, just didn't do it for me.

Jailaa West's Another Curvy Girl and Grumpy Vamp was exactly what I expected: stinkin' cute and sexy to boot!

I was already in love with our broody vampire hero, Baden from the blurb/cover copy alone, but he was even more swoon-worthy on page. Seriously, that meet-cute in the garage park? So frigging adorable, especially when Baden almost instantly realizes that our sassy, brainy heroine Merri isn't just some regular annoying human but his mate and pursues her.

Though their love story is a quickie, it's still one you should consider picking up if short, steamy romances are, y'know, your jam and applesauce too. :)

The chemistry between Baden and Merri is off the charts! It's intense and captivating, and you can really feel the pull of their fated mates connection. They both have their reasons for fighting it at first, which adds some good tension, but eventually, they just can't deny it anymore.

Their journey to their happily ever after isn't easy, but it's such a fun ride. It's beautiful, funny, anxious, sexy, uplifting, and downright cute all at the same time. Seriously, this book was fire! 🔥🔥🔥 And it all starts because of a parking space! How great is that?

I loved Baden. He's definitely made it into my top 5 favorite vampires. He's got that grumpy, alpha male thing going on, but he also has a soft side that comes out with Merri. I loved how possessive he was, but also how he respected Merri's independence. She wasn't just falling all over him, which I appreciated.

Merri was also a great character. She's strong and independent, and I loved her "can-do" attitude. I especially liked that she wasn't just instantly swooning over Baden. It made their connection feel more real.

The plot is simple and easy to follow, which makes it a great book to read between longer, more complex reads. It's a short and sweet story, but it still feels complete. It has a clear beginning, middle, and end, and it kept me smiling the whole time.

I do wish there had been a little more focus on resolving some of their initial issues. They were kind of glanced over, but honestly, with the level of spice and the overall enjoyment of the story, I didn't even care that much.

I'm so glad I picked this one up. It's a fantastic addition to the Curvy Girl series, and I can't wait to see what Jailaa West comes up with next!.

Baden is a vampire, he's also hot, tall and rich. Merri is a curvy, sassy grad student, work-a-holic. The attraction between them is IMMEDIATE, yet neither of them wants to admit it. They both have their own reasons for fighting the pull they feel towards each other, but that doesn't last long. 💖

This book was really enjoyable but I wish it was longer! The world they live in is so intriguing, with a vaccine giving vampires the strength to control their urges and biting people being illegal. It is such a cool concept! There are werewolves, shifters and witches. There is so much potential for this book to be much longer, with more lore, slowburn and complexity. ✨️

A quick yet steamy read, I finished this in about an hour. Even though it's fast paced, I still got plenty of story and plot out of this novella. Merri (FMC) has a rather interesting meet-cute with the brooding yet devilishly handsome Baden (MMC). They connect instantly and there's strong connection flowing between them, both emotionally and physically. Plenty of sexual tension between the two but of course, like any supernatural romance worth its salt, they deny, deny, deny. And boy, do they fight what they both feel for each other because of fear and past trauma. Thankfully, they figured their crap out 😮‍💨. Check this book out if you want fated mates, love with a bit of angst, overbearing yet doting alpha male, fierce and independent FMC, and a handful of spicy scenes! ❤️💓.

Baden is a powerful vampire living in a world dull of all color and sensation. Finding his one or soulmate would bring light and life to his world but past heartache keeps him from searching. Merri is working in a rideshare type program, attending school and still trying to figure out her place in the world. They meet over her taking his assigned parking space, sparks fly but they try to resist. Baden doesn’t want to suffer more heartache and Merri, who has a werewolf father, doesn’t want a bond that feels like a shackle. Told from dual POV, Merri and Baden have to find their way to each other and open up in ways they haven’t before.

I really enjoyed this as a fifth entry in the Just Another Girl Meets series, it does a great job in creating that romance element that I was looking for in this type of book. I was hooked from the first page, and thought the characters worked well in this setting and thoroughly enjoyed the concept and how they were used. Jailaa West has a strong writing style and am excited to read more in this series and from the author.

The plot was intriguing and exciting and delicious. World building was excellent and expertly drawn. The characters were so very appealing and likeable and perfectly steamy together. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book

I have to admit I started this series with the last book. It wasn't intentional and I have no regrets. Ms. West and her talent for creating sentences and witty cues had me cackling out loud. Baden... Oh Baden. By far one of my top 5 favorite vampires. I highly recommend this book!

Cute and Sassy

These two characters were amazing. The banter and no nonsense attitude was so good. The grumpy vampire gets thrown for a loop and when his “One” comes out of nowhere. She is feisty and no man is going to keep her. They fight the pull towards each other until fate wins.

I love a curvy girl book, and I love vampire books. Getting both together was an automatic read for me. Merri and Baden are both stubborn but grow so much in a short amount of time. Baden is definitely book boyfriend material. Check this book out! It's worth the read.
