Willow has her hands full scraping out a life in a grungy neighborhood where drugs and crime are the norm. Life is hard, but it’s about to get harder. Being transformed into a sexual pet for an alien warrior may be her only way out.
But Stom, the man she’s been awarded to as a battle honor, has no use for a female, not when his heart is still in a million pieces.
Though the need to be Stom’s mate is overwhelming her, mending his heart isn’t going to be enough. His enemies are searching, looking for the women who are more than they seem, and she’s in their hands before she discovers she’s more-than-human.

I received ARC from author after winning a contest!! This book comes out on May 7/14!! Thank you Cari Silverwood for gifting me a copy!
This was a different kind of read for me. It is what I would call part of a Sci-fi romance genre-if there is such a thing! The Intimidator is book two in the Preyfinders series, and I will admit that I would have had a way better reading experience if I had read the first book. I was a bit lost at first, so I'm thinking if I had more history and understanding I would have become way more absorbed into the read than I was. Even though this was the case, I was able to get drawn into the storyline and enjoy it as well. I was reminded why I enjoyed some of Cari Silverwood's past reads. She knows how to write very steamy erotica! She also has a very active imagination when it comes to kink..*cough* Electric toothbrush anyone!!!! LMAO Ever since I have read this book, I have a whole new perspective of what my electric toothbrush can do..Funny, but I never thought of anything like that before!!! ;-P So, in saying that, I will highly recommend to anyone who loves a unique erotica story; to give this one a go..Or for that matter, any of Ms. Silverwood's reads will do! She really makes the sex light the pages on fire with explosive intensity between her characters.
This is the story of Stom and Willow. Stom is an alien from a planet that has been destroyed. While his planet was under destruction, he also lost his bond mate and his younglings. He has grieved them for some time and has only interest in being a Hunter. He has been told to go to Earth to acquire a "Pet" which is his reward for a job well done. Unfortunately, Stom has zero interest in having a human woman for a pet..for that matter..ANY woman is of no use to him. He feels he would be betraying his vow to his late wife. When he is introduced to Willow though, there is an attraction that is impossible to ignore. He gives it a hard fight though, as he really does not want to betray the memory of his late wife. Will he give in to his desire that is becoming harder to ignore? Or will he be able to turn his back on this "gift" that he is technically suppose to cherish?
Willow is an interesting heroine. I really enjoyed how independant she was, and yet there was a vulnerability to her that was just under the surface. She fell hard for Stom, and of course was extremely HOT for him! (This is an erotic book don't forget!!)Even though she was fanning her nether regions constantly around him; she had a huge road block in her way of potential happiness. She was caring for her sister, and she couldn't leave her for anyone. There are major complications though, and Willow may not have a future without Stom. There are so many speed bumps in the way for Stom and Willow. Is there any chance of a HEA for them? I will say this..when these two give in to their desire...they create fireworks! Alien and human, they know how to create sparks between one another. Let's just hope they will be able to find a way to be happy, because their attraction would be a shame to pass up.
For a shorter story, there was a lot of substance to it. Yes, it is erotica but there is a great storyline as well. I do want to go back and read book one now, and I look forward to the next installment when it comes out. I am so glad that I got a chance to be reminded of how talented Cari Silverwood is as an erotica author! I honestly would have never tried a sci-fi themed book; but the beauty of winning a contest like this is trying things that are outside of the box your use to. I am happy that I won and was able to expand my horizons..It was well worth it!
This book is about Stom and Willow. Stom is an alien and his home planet had to be destroyed. His bond mate and younglings were killed. He throws himself into his job as a hunter. As a reward he was told he was going to get to go to earth and get a pet. This is the last thing Stom wants but he can’t say no, so he goes to earth. He is greeted by Brask a preyhunter. Brask is going to help him acquire his pet, Willow is to be his pet. Once Stom sees Willow he is attracted to her. He doesn’t want to be but he is. He made vows to his bond mate and even though she is dead he feels taking a pet would be breaking those vows. He does the first step of the pet/master process which is kissing her with the nano-chem on his lips. That is all he intends to do, of course what he intended to do and what he did are two different things. He is surprised by his feelings for her and is struggling between them and the vows he made to his bond mate. Stom finds out that Willow is going to die. A local thug wants her dead, if he doesn’t kill her she has a resist strain of aids that will. He tries to get her to flee the area but she doesn’t want to leave her cousin Allie. Stom proceeds to do the second step in the pet/master process. This is to drink the nano-chem and then have sex with her. There is something different about the earth women who match up with the alien men. Stom intends to explain more about himself and why she was picked then get on the warp ship the next day. Willow feels like someone is finally going to help her and be strong her instead of her always having to be the strong brave person. She fights this attraction to Stom at first. She doesn’t want to have to leave her cousin or for her life to change to drastically. She is in love with Stom and wants to be with him. They both have a past but she wants a future with him. Will they get to be together or will Stom’s sense of duty and morals stop them?
This is the second book in this series. I love how this series is a different take on aliens. The characters and engaging and fantastic. I liked how Stom had to struggle with his feelings between his dead wife and what could be his future wife. I also like that is more than just a romance book, it had some action because of the other aliens they are fighting. I also like how you know there will be another book as you are reading this one. It was very well written. I can’t wait to find out about who Brask will take and more about the Queens. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for another book in this series.
Awesome Scifi alien capture romance/erotica with some bdsm elements. Can I just say Wow! I love this type of story and this one really delivered. I read and thoroughly enjoyed the first story in this series (Precious Sacrifice). So I was anxious for this one. Stom was yummy in an alpha alien male kinda way:) Stom and Willow together were combustible and panty melting ;) The author has been building an interesting world and characters. I want to know more about the Preyfinders and the enemy they are fighting. The couples and romances developing are intriguing. I want to read each of their stories. My only complaint is I would like them to be a bit longer to do some more world building. Keep them coming ~wink, wink~ and I'll keep reading them! People who like their scifi romance a bit on the kinkier side would enjoy this series.
Have you ever read a book that you start feeling anxious that you know that you are nearing the end of a book. Well that is how I started feeling about this book. I didn’t want it to end and that surprised me. I mean this is a Sci Fi romance. I never thought that I would want to read anything like that but, I did and I do.
Hmmm I will never look at an electric toothbrush or hair brush the same after reading the Intimidator and neither will you if you read this book. I can’t tell you why because I don’t do spoilers but, you can use your imagination and if you know Cari Silverwood's books you will know what I mean ;)
I am glad to know that Cari is starting on book 3 of the Preyfinders Series but, sad that I have to wait for it. Yes, Cari has converted me to loving Fantasy/Sci-fi romance another genre I never thought I would like let alone love.
This is the second book in this series that is sci fi capture romance but with an erotic edge. I must start my review by saying although I've seen comments about BDSM this is primarily a love story with tender moments and a surprisingly humourous hero. I feel some may be put off by the idea of master and pet but hasten to reassure fellow readers that nothing could be further from the truth . This is a sci romance series like none other and the author takes chances that are certainly paying off Stom is our hero and as the story begins we learn just how heinous the crimes of the Bak-Lal are and it sets the scene for what's to come down on Earth. Stom is a Preyfinder and is in a dark place having lost the family he cared for to the enemy. He's intent on revenge and death but as a reward for his service has the opportunity to claim a human female as a pet. Stom cannot bring himself to replace his dead mate and has vowed to take no other female but is prepared to at least make it look as if he is cooperating knowing he will not follow through. Willow has no idea that she is already infected with a deadly virus although she's well aware that she has seriously riled a local gang member . Stom comes to her rescue one night when she is attacked outside where she works but Willow has no idea that he has slipped her a drug that could alter her and turn her into a very horny woman indeed! Right from the start Stom tells Willow that he is an alien and although she would like nothing more than to let him have his (hopefully) wicked way with her his sanity is an issue and Willow is very confused. Stom knows the danger Willow is in and tries to persuade her to leave but Willow has responsibilities and decides to stay. That decision proves to be a bad one and as Williw and Stom meet again it's clear that something tangible is between them. Now I'd like to say that they all live happily ever after but there is the very real threat from the Bak-Lal and it's getting a lot closer . Stom may not want another female in his life but we Humans can be quite challenging and Willow is well and truly something else! I commented on a lack of world building in the first book but thought the simple idea of showing just what could happen to beings taken over by the Bak-Lal really helped to expand the whole idea. I had trouble previously seeing the Preyfinders as good guys because they seemed perfectly happy to destroy whole planets so to have so much fleshed out here at the beginning of the story was truly enlightening. This is a sexy story but for me the highlight is Stoms growth . He goes through so much angst and pain and yet he really is a sweetie . His comments had me smiling as he fought to get to grips with pop culture and I was truly convinced by the romance that played out. Stom may not want a pet but he's certainly happy to explore ideas and Willow is perfectly onboard with that and more! Willow is never a victim in her dealings with Stom but she is indeed a very happy participant ! I am loathe to say too much more about the plot but will state that if you enjoy sci fi or paranormal romance then I think this series is something you should look for. For this reader the third book is a must read but I'm a little apprehensive as these aliens have Gods and the next story features one loud and proud!
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next story in the series. While each book so far has focused on a single couple, the author is setting up future couplings and expanding on the world of Preyfinders, Bak-lal, and the war between them now taking place on Earth. There are numerous side characters and building stories although the book has a satisfactory ending and HEA.
The story idea of an advanced society allowing a hunt for female pets/slaves/wives as reward, isn't entirely new. In fact there are several aspects of this story that I could identify as similar to other series I've read. However, there is a new mix here which gives some already used concepts a refreshing slant.
The only real complaint I have is a visceral dislike of the cover. Yes, I know that's shallow, and not in any way important (no, I did not take off stars for this silly complaint!), but for some reason that guy looks more like a punk kid to me than the strong alpha male Stom is described as being. I'm sure that's just an "eye of the beholder" thing. ;)
Ahhhh! Total squee moment when the book ended, I totally loved it and can't wait for more
Sci-fi is completely not my norm genre but these characters are so darn compelling, you forget some of them are aliens
The story is quick paced and I devoured the book in one sitting. Right until the very end you are frantically turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. And when it does end, you are now waiting for the next installment!
Preyfinders are soldiers, and yes, they are from outer space, BUT, in this case they are interacting with the humans on earth. In this particular case, our hero Stom is being rewarded for his hard work during battle with a 'pet'. Basically, a pet is a girlfriend and they use a bit of chemical to help them out. The attraction has to be there to use the chemical because if won't work otherwise, so they aren't really drugging unwilling victims, simply enhancing the feelings. All the aliens are human shape, maybe just a stitch bigger and more muscley, but, they are soldiers afterall. Some are a little bit blue, and Stom has stripes, as you see from the cover. But they are the same other than that, just different skin appearance
Stom just lost his wife and family, and for his race, there is only one 'bond-mate', so he doesn't want a pet. Trouble is, he is fascinated and unrealistically attracted to Willow, his chosen pet
Willow has not had an easy life, and brings a whole host of characters along with her that cause even more chaos. The story is a mystery and a war novel all wrapped up in an erotic romance between two, more or less, unwilling participants who are so hot for each other, it confounds even them
There is some reference to characters from the previous book, but you can follow even if you haven't read it. It leads to some set up for additional characters, but it is not a cliffhanger, everybody's story is complete at the end, and you see where there are and what they are doing at this point
Intimidator was even better then i remembered,i loved Stom and Willow! The world is still under threat, after destroying the queen in Brittany’s country, there’s another, transforming more people into Bak lal. And others like those were responsible for the destruction of Stom’s home planet..... Losing his home, losing his mate and their children. Poor Feya warrior. When he’s rewarded with his own Hunt, the possibility of a pet,he only goes along because....well,Willow is a sweet girl. One that doesn’t deserve to die at the hands of that evil Kasper and his friends. The longer he knows her,the closer she becomes, though. And Willow seems to like him.....more and more. Just as they are ready to make a more permanent...arrangement,the enemy strikes. Taking Willow, and her niece,Ally. All is lost,or is it?
I really need Talia and Brask’s story now,so Defiler here i come!
If you asked me what my favorite genres to read are, sci-fi usually doesn't make the list. However, as a fan of Cari Silverwood's writing I took a chance on this. Wow! I'm so glad I did! This story is amazing and the characters come to life as they sizzle on the page!
Stom is an alien, although I'll admit, I sometimes forgot that while reading about his Alpha male hotness, until an action jerks you back into the "reality" of their lives. He's a warrior who has lost all that he cares about when his life mate and home planet was destroyed. He is gifted Willow as a reward for everything he does, but he refuses to dishonor his love for Nassia.
Willow, her name is perfect. Strong, but tender-- she can and will bend under powerful forces. She falls hard for Stom, but there are so many obstacles between them. They are both fighting the burning desire and need for each other.
Sc-fi, romance, steamy erotic scenes-- Cari writes is all in an addictive tale that you have to read! Make sure you have time when you start this, because you will NOT be able to put it down! Batteries, boyfriend or electric toothbrush :) are also recommended!
Remember, I said sc-fi wasn't one of my faves? Well, now I can't wait to read more of this series!!!
Intimidators Cari Silverwood This story was given to me in exchange for an honest review. This is the second story in the Preyfinders series. Here we get to meet a few more characters and catch up a little bit with Jadd and Brittany from Precious Sacrifice. This segment follows a few different story lines. At the beginning we are introduced to Talia, she is Brittany's sister and she is desparately searching for her. Brittany seems to have disappeared and Talia wants to know where she is. Brask is the sexy alien that she keeps running into and who seems to know something about her sister. He keeps trying to zap her and erase her memories of their meetings but she keeps hunting him. She can sense him. Stom has been awarded a Pet for his many years of good service. Unfortunately he has been married before and it is this true long of Nasskia that has him fighting this new gift. Her name is Willow, she has some serious bad guys after her. Stom and Willow have some serious sex as they start to form a bond and as Stom struggles to keep Willow safe and away from danger. Willow lives with her cousin Ally and feels it is her duty to protect Ally. The evil forces, Bak-lal are alive and well and in control of some interesting Nerve Chewers that they use to take control of the humans they have captured. They want Ally and Willow as they believe them to have some witch-like powers. The hunt is on. Evil is looking for the girls, Stom is desparate to protect the one that he is starting to feel something for, and Talia is also searching for Brask as he has the answers about her sister. In true Cari Silverwood style the story is gripping on every page. The plot speeds along nicely and obstacles are thrown up constantly. Evil has quite a few tricks to show and it is certainly a race to protect everyone. If Evil does win it could be the end of Earth. Suspense, drama, good vs evil and some hot steamy sex thrown in. Definately all the makings of a good story. And to think there are so many unanswered questions at the end, makes you really want to get the next installment, and soon. I would rate this story 5/5.
Intimidator is marked as a Scifi and kinky captive fantasy romance which is why I signed up to review it. I'm enjoying scifi romance at the moment as you can see from my last review of another scifi romance.
I have to give the author full marks on the scifi elements on this one. It would seem that aliens have invaded Australia (makes a change from the usual stories of aliens invading America. LOL) And the queen mothers (my brain is fried, I can't remember what the queen thingy were called) live underground and capture humans who they alter into their minions.
Enter the good aliens who've been fighting the bad ones from one planet to another. After his last battle success, Stom, an alien warrior, is awarded a prize--Willow. He can capture her and turn her into his pet. Except, Stom doesn't want a pet. He made a promise to his dead spouse never to take another. But he has to take the woman or lose face or something.
So he sees Willow in a bar where she works, saves her from an attack, administers the serum which will transform her to a pet and that's how their romance starts.
As kinky captive romances go, this one didn't quite hit the spot for me. I mean, it just wasn't kinky enough. LOL. But that could be just my taste. Yes, she was transformed to his pet without her consent and eventually became his mate and that's about as kinky as it got.
All the same, this is an enjoyable read for lovers of sci-fi romance. Cari Silverwood writes with a good sense of humor and I will read more of her books.
First off Loved it!!.. I think more than the first one :) Willow is on a hit list so to speak, there is a few things happening in Willows life that she wont be able to do a lot in controlling them. Her priorities? Is to keep her cousin and herself safe. Stom..domineering, bossy and grumpy so it seems his lot in life... his bond mate and young was taken tragically from him. His priority in life? To see the enemy dead even it means his life is forefit basically he is living to die. Stom is given a pet as a gift for all his battles and hard work, he of course grumbles about not needing or wanting a pet, that taking a pet would be dishonoring his beloved bond mate. Things get a bit funny when they first meet, and Stom comes to her rescue by stabbing her assailants with silverware. (smiles) Remember mere humans can not know of the aliens.. rolls eyes... The sparks between them are almost instantaneous... of course both will do what they can to fight it.. and fight against a evil that is threatening humankind.. Awesome!! the pace of the book, the amount of detail just right. I loved Stom with Willow and the secondary characters as well. Omg!! I cant wait til book 3! The sex was all kinds of hot and yummi, Ill take that for a dollar... (giggles).. have fun with this and enjoy.. Props to Ms. Silverwood.
*I received a copy of this book to read & review for Wicked Reads Review Team*
The Epilogue for Precious Sacrifice is located at the beginning of this book, which is very interesting and ties the 2 stories together ;) I have to say that I really like the Aliens that Ms. Silverwood has created in these books. They are from different worlds, they are well defined, they are emotional, and they are very intelligent beings. While this story follows the same course as the 1st, there is much more going on in Willow & Stom's story. The evil Bak-lal are invading various planets, causing extermination of species -and ultimately planets. The Preyfinders are attempting to stop the invasion of Earth. Oddly, though, they are "bonding" with women on a deeper level then they're aware of, and find that they really need each other in the epic battle against the enemy. This story contains romance (general & erotic...lots of erotic), action, some angst, and a bit of suspense. It was a quick, sexy read, and I want to read more about these characters!!
Action packed so sexy. This new sci-fi by Car Silverwood has it all, again I find myself lost in a world of her creation and loving it. Stom has no use for the woman he was gifted, he is still in love with the mate he lost. Willow’s need to be with Storm is irresistible. Everything is not what is seems for these two and road blocks seem to pop up at every turn for them. I loved this fun and exciting story that had me on the edge of my seat and hot under my collar. Already waiting for more!
Sci-fi is not my go to genre, but I agreed to read an ARC of Intimidator for on honest review. I am so glad I did.
This book was a fun read full of action, romance, and fantasy. The aliens and story are believable. Silverwood created a great foundation for the Preyfinder series in Precious Sacrifice and Intimidator is just as strong with great plots and sexy characters. I can't wait to see what battles come next. Future books from this series will be streamlined to the top of my TBR.
I love this series! I never thought I could like sci-fi themed books but it seems that I do: a talented author can make miracles! This book has two things things that are important to me: a beautiful love story and a very intriguing overall plot. And the cover is hot! I hope there will be books for Talia and Ally. I want to know what will happen!
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
***3 1/2 stars rounded up to 4***
He glanced over. The light silvered her, worshipping the undulations of her body -- the upper curves of her breasts where they spilled from the neckline of her T-shirt, her lips, her cheekbones, the sweet curls of her black hair around her ears. She was, he fumbled for the as yet unused human word...dead sexy. Hot. Willow was someone he'd like to handle for more than just for a kiss.
Tragedy doesn't care if you are human or alien -- it wreaks havoc with everyone. Neither Stom or Willow are looking for anything more than to just get through one day to the next.
As an "honor", Stom is sent to Earth to find a woman, a pet, to ease his soul. Little does anyone know, the pain inside him cannot be healed.
Willow, is one payday away from oblivion. Taking care of her cousin, Ally, who can't be around people for more than a few hours at time, has caused her world to shrink down to work and caring for Ally.
Looking into the eyes of Stom, Willow sees more than the hard exterior that he projects. Stom fights against the storm of emotion that flows within him, knowing that all he can offer is more pain.
Alien or not, Willow finds herself falling for Stom, but can the demons of her world and his tear them apart or bring them together?
Once again, looking forward to the next installment of the Preyfinders.
A copy of this book was provided by the author for an honest review at Night Owl Reviews
Although I enjoyed the Precious Sacrifice novella, I was less taken with this sequel. I enjoyed the premise of how a Preyfinder acquires his target, and the backstory of how Willow and Ally came to be near-recluses in their grandmother’s house in the middle of a neighborhood they both should have left behind years before. But the level of violence was quite a bit higher in Intimidator than it was in the previous story, most likely due to the comparably greater length, and I don’t have a particularly strong stomach for such things. The scenes with the alien enemy’s “nerve chewers” were especially distasteful for me, and I actually forced myself to skim through them, as much as I hated missing out on likely important plot points, especially near the end of the book. But if you have a greater tolerance for this type of thing, then it shouldn’t affect your appreciation of Intimidator. It will be interesting to see where this series goes next. I wonder how long the inevitable story between Talia and Brask will be teased out, or if they’ll finally get their own story in the next book.
If you loved the first book in this series, then you will really LOVE Intimidator!
As much as I did enjoy Precious Sacrifice, Intimidator is like 1000% more awesome. With this being a full novel instead of a novella, Silverwood was able to do so much more.
Willow, a young girl who is struggling to keep herself and her cousin Ally safe in a bad neighborhood, finds herself the center of an alien's attention. Stom, doesn't want to take on a new pet after the death of his former mate, but does so to help keep peace between two nations who already have a fragile peace. Things happen that neither Willow nor Stom expect to happen.
The story is rich in detail and like with Silverwood's characters, I found myself instantly attached to Willow and rooting for her. You will find yourself on a roller coaster of emotion as you read, hoping what happens next is the opposite of what you will find.
DISCLAIMER: I was editor for this, so it's totally gauche for me to rate, but all I can say is wow, Cari knows how to pack in the punches and the passion with this one. This one will appeal to those of you who love their SF action. If critters like Star Trek's Borg give you the willies, then watch out for the bad guys in this one. [shivers] As always, fast-paced and thrilling, oodles of eroticism, and well thought-out world-building.
Cari Silverwood continues her sci-fi world with Book two in the Preyfinders series, Intimidator. She made me a fan of erotic sci-fi with book one, Precious Sacrifice, and this installment gave me everything I was craving in a full length novel. Alien humanoid, Stom, has been awarded a human pet for his many years of good service. The trip to Earth to hunt and capture his pet should be considered an enormous honor, but Stom lost his bond mate and family in the destruction of his home planet. He has no interest in becoming Master to anyone. He sets about going through the motions with the plan of abandoning his hunt before sealing the final bond, but he never expects to have such a fierce sexual connection to his prey, Willow. It seems the nanochem his kind use to seduce their pets has an effect on the alien pursuer as well. Willow has serious troubles of her own. She’s a target for a local drug dealer and unbeknownst to her, has a terminal disease that no human medicine can touch. If Stom abandons his hunt, her fate is sealed and she WILL die. We also revisit Brask from book one, the sexy alpha alien brother to Jadd and get a hint of something to come with kick-ass, sword wielding Talia. The ever present enemy, the Bak-lal, are constantly seeking to transform humans through their own harrowing and chilling process involving nerve chewers (shivers…). What a ride Cari Silverwood takes us on in this one. There is edge-of-your seat action interspersed throughout the book, but enough down time to really watch Willow and Stom make a connection. It’s obvious that there’s an attraction between them before Stom even enlists the aid of the nanochem, but when its effects hit, Willow can’t seem to temper her craving for his touch. Their scenes are smoking hot with a touch of D/s interplay, but realistic for the scenario. And in true Cari Silverwood fashion, each scene is unique and full of surprises. I’m never bored when I read her works. Inanimate household objects are yet again abused sexually! There’s a humor in this series that I’m so not used to after Pierced Hearts, but she does it so well. I love that the women all have something special about them. It’s hinted at throughout the first two books, and it explains some of the supernatural events that occur. The world building is actually very rich and complex without being confusing, which I really appreciate. I happen to love non-con in the BDSM genre, and I feel this series would be less disturbing to the hesitant reader than say, Pierced Hearts (my fav!). While there is a chemical conversion that could be considered non-consensual and coercive, it’s obvious that both Master and pet are affected by its pull. The attraction is most definitely there beforehand, and I would find it entirely plausible for Stom and Willow to end up together even without the nanochem. I think this series is very readable for almost anyone. Highly recommended for those into some kinky action with humor and suspense mixed in.
This is another book in Cari Silverwood's sort of alien invasion, sort of alien abduction series.
The Preyfinders are on Earth to first find out if the humans can be starfarers in the future. Once that's been established, that means that soldiers can come hunt human women for pets, as a reward. There is also another alien group on Earth, the ones that the good guys are fighting against.
Stom is a Feya. He has black and grey stripes and a red spiral on his arm. He is a hero, so the higher-ups decided that he could hunt for a pet. He is conflicted about it because Feya only ever take one bondmate, and his is dead, and a pet would violate his vow.
Willow is his prospective prey and pet. She is due to die, which makes her the perfect target. When Stom sees her, he's drawn to her and knows that she is going to be trouble. He can't stay away from her and once she kisses him, she can't stay away from him.
This is a great story. You really can't read it as a stand-alone because it is connected with the first book, and is a continuing storyline. There isn't technically a cliffhanger, but there is definitely an ending that needs the next book. I love Stom, at least most of the time. There are times when I want to take a cluex4 to the back of his head just so he figures stuff out sooner, but in general, he's a pretty good guy. Willow is conflicted about her past, but incredibly strong and loyal in her present. She wants nothing more than to be safe and make sure her family is safe. I love Cari Silverwood's heroines, because they are strong, even if they are submissive. Submissive doesn't equal weak, and Cari always shows that.
This is the first book in a long time that I’ve stayed up half the night to read in one sitting. The reason Intimidator is an amazing read. Cari Silverwood sci-fi novel is fast paced and full of action, intrigue, suspense, and kink.
I got sucked into the story very quickly and Ms Silverwood grabbed my attention from the start. I was delighted to read that Intimidator continued straight on form Precious Sacrifices, (the first sci-fi book I was able to read.) I would recommend reading Precious Sacrifices first before reading Intimidator so you get to fall in love with Jadd and Brittany and well as learning about the Bak-lal war.
Stom is a alpha alien who is struggling with the death of his wife and children, He has been given Willow as a ‘pet’ but he doesn’t want her as he feels conflicted for his loyalty to his bonded mate. His confliction with his past is apparent as the story goes on. Willow is a caring girl who looks out for her introverted cousin Ally. She falls for Stom hard and fast but will he get over his internal struggle for them to be together?
The sex scenes do not disappoint and move over the hairbrush (sorry Tom) and say hello to the toothbrush ladies.
Intimidator is a MUST read to all who love kink, action, suspense and sci-fi. and I’m extremely excited to see how the series will continue on
Book 3 better hurry up!! I’m still waiting for a Preyfinder to find me with some nano- chem..
I totally enjoyed Stom and Willow's story. The Preyfinders Series is a wondrous blend of really well written sci-fi action, strong characters and some dub-con kink. Ms Silverwood has a very easy to read writing style, one that I find captures the imagination and immerses you in her world. Once I start reading these books I find them hard to put down.
Willow is a feisty, independent, take care of myself woman with so much empathy it ends up getting her into trouble. Stom is not interested in taking Willow as his pet, this would be a betrayal of his dead mate. The thing I love about these books is that whilst the relationship between the H and h is an important part of the story, involving some wonderfully steamy (and kinky) moments, there is so much more to the plot than just that.
Stom's combination of stubbornness and honour mean things don't go smoothly for him and Willow. The Bak-lal factory queen ensures things go less well for Earth and the aliens who are trying to stay undetected. This results in one hot, pacey and very captivating read and leaves you panting for more.
Intimidator picks up where " Precious Sacrifice " leaves off.
Willow is given to Stom as reward for his achievements, but the last thing he wants is a pet. Dealing with loss of his family, he is not in a good place. Willow is busy keeping her life together and taking care of her cousin Ally.
When Stom gives Willow the Nanochem to turn her into a sexual pet, the need for them to mate is overwhelming. Willow also discovers her hidden power of fire just as Brittany found her power of healing, which comes in handy where Stom is concerned. Their main goal, and the reason the preyfinders are on earth, is to bring down the enemy Bak-lal.
This is a Sci-fi fantasy series so, yes , might not be making much sense unless you are into this genre or are a fan of Cari Silverwoods writing. Also you really should start with the first book in the series, Precious Sacrifice. The action is fast paced with a well written story and developed main characters. Some hot, steamy sex scenes also.
Hope you give this series a try, I think you might like it.
I am totally digging this world of badass alien warriors and unique humans who become stronger when together. Willow is a great character; internal strength and drive, she has worked hard to care for herself and her cousin Ally. And even with all the struggle she's faced, she's still hopeful. Stom has suffered great loss, causing him to turn off all emotion except anger and revenge. This single mindedness turned him into a respected and revered warrior. The two of them together...wonderful! I love the delicious relationship these two formed while fighting the evil Bak-lal. This novella is suspenseful and action packed with inspiring kinky loving. I can't wait for book three!
This is the second book in the series. And you could read it alone, but I would suggest book one first.
The book starts by telling two stories of an alien man and an earth woman. By the end another pair have been added. It makes the books feel like an addiction for the next one.
Each male is testing the females to see if earth is suitable to be saved from a dangerous alien race that can take over a person and add them to their army. Along the way the males find that the females are more than just test subjects. And it seems that some females have hidden abilities.
This one is much stronger than the first book, which was more of an introduction to the series. Here we get a full-fledged story. Within the boundaries of the "alien men need Earth women" sub-genre, this has a few more twists and some paranormal aspects that are still not fully revealed. The sex is good, with the drug-assisted lust-to-love component working just fine.
Willow and Stom. . . what a huge difference in acquisition. Stom is truly an honorable soul with a heart of gold. But man, I feel for Willow and her issues. She loves her cousin so much and is willing to do anything to protect her. Crazy story.
I wish these girls didn't have all these troubles and issues. I feel so badly for them. I am glad that through it all everyone is OK. Just finding Ally is the issue now.
This series just keeps getting better and better. I love that Cari does such a believable job in describing things that are not "earthly" which in turn enhances the story. I love that this series introduces characters from the other stories as well. Loved Willow and Stom.
Looking forward to reading about Talia and Brask. I would also like more on Ally.
