Saved from the double
apocalypse when zombies
first tasted A.I.

Dive into the dazzling world of The Sci-fi Epoch 2, the second book of author-poet Michael Mortenson’s trademark haiku. From mind-bending haiku on time travel and mathematics to thoughtfully imaginative haiku about dinosaurs and the everyday life of aliens, this collection has it all. Chapters feature personal essays with sharp insights on the evolution and impact of science fiction. Mortenson, winner of the LDSPMA award for Best Emerging Poet, proves once again that ancient poetry forms can shine like new in the hands of an artist.

Perfect for fans of sci-fi, poetry, and speculative fiction, Epoch 2 is a must-read for those hungry for a kaleidoscopic gauntlet of 17-syllable masterpieces.

Praise for The Sci-fi

“Genuinely fun.”“As a fan of speculative fiction, these quick little poems on themes the genre is known for are so comforting to me. It’s such a great break from the huge novels we all go for. Sometimes you just need a tiny bite of SFF, and these are just the thing.”“An unexpected and intriguing collection of poetry. The haiku range from the tart and witty, to the narrative and adventurous, to the thoughtful and profound. Some are genuinely beautiful.”

At times I found myself grinning from a good haiku, At other times I felt my heart being wrenched out by a few well placed words. Mortensen does wonders with the power of haiku in a science fiction backdrop. Truly a quick, delight to read. Highly recommended.
