Driven to Kill is a pulse-pounding psychological thriller that will leave you questioning who to trust.
Lucy has always felt like a prisoner in her own life—first to her controlling parents, then to her dangerous ex, Jeff. After escaping his violent grip, she claws her way to a fresh start, throwing herself into her studies and landing a dream life with Jordan, a charming man with a sinister side. But when his facade cracks, Lucy is once again caught in the cycle of manipulation and abuse.
Desperate to break free, she runs to London, only to find herself ensnared in a new web of danger. A drug-dealing boyfriend, a brush with death, and a brutal rehab stint later, Lucy meets Joe, the one man who makes her believe she can finally escape her dark past. But as Lucy begins to rebuild, Joe’s ex, Becky, reappears—bitter and vengeful, intent on unraveling Lucy’s new life.
As the lines between love and obsession blur, Lucy is pulled into a psychological game of survival. With her future—and Joe’s freedom—at stake, she must confront the darkest corners of her past and present. But in a world where betrayal hides behind every smile, Lucy will have to decide just how far she’s willing to go to protect the life she’s fought so hard to rebuild.
Get ready for a twist-filled ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat, questioning everything until the final page.
Enjoyable read. None of the characters are particularly likeable but I believe that is the intention of the author. As the story progresses and more connections are revealed you start to wonder which of them is the unlucky one.
From the moment I started reading, putting down this story of swirling and criss-crossing points of view was never easy. Each twist and revelation had me turning the pages faster and faster. The story follows the POVs of Lucy, her mother Nancy, her dad Patrick and Joe. Lucy had difficult teen years. Her choices in boyfriends were serial disasters. But there is something sinister that threads through narrative, and you’ll have to read to find out whether Lucy finds what she is looking for.
