Night Two of the Annual Game Night where Alpha's can unleash there inner aggression and possiveness for the ultimate prize, an Omega. One night only to be who they truly are but at what cost and to what end. These short, and I mean some a two chapters, novellas form 12 authors are different in there style of writing, depth of story and character development. But, what hey all have in common is, they are all fantastic, engaging and absolutely turn a fan on to cool down steamy!
1. ELITE ALPHAS: HYAENA By Vivian Murdoch A short, action-packed novella, putting a spin on a games night. The feralness of the Alpha's and the fear or desire from the Omegas makes for an interesting hunt. I am definitely going back to read other Elite Alpha books by Vivian Murdoch as Hyaena was an absolute thrill.
2. CAGED IN CONTROL By Kinkaid Knight The brutality and fierceness between Cage and Badger was absolutely palpable! You could feel the emotion coming off the page and I was all for it. This MM novella has all you could ask for in this caged fight with an ending that was exhilarating. I loved the story, the writing and the characters.
3. BOUND BY HAPPENSTANCE By Wren White Just as this little novella was getting interesting, bam, Wren White left me wanting more. Three short, fast-paced, action filled chapters have set the scene which can only be described as something amazing is coming.
4. OMEGA - 24265883 By Mandy Caruso Dimitri and Omega 24265883 are both tenacious, eager to fight and desperate for an escape. I enjoyed the to and fro between these two characters, with the thrill of the hunt thrown in. With the such a short novella, I was left wanting to know if the make good on their escape and do they have a HEA.
5. RUN, ANGEL MINE By RS McKenzie A game of cat and mouse, played out between a dominant, possessive alpha and an omega keen to stay safe behind closed doors. But no one is safe on game night, and a determined alpha will claim his prize. While this started as primal, I loved the sweetness to the story as well.
6. POKER FACE By AW Turner Been torn from your mate and kept apart, is not easy for either party, but when fates align, game night is perfect for the ultimate chance to reclaim what's rightfully theirs. I loved the honesty of this story, from an Alpha trying to find his mate and omega trying to find his freedom.
7. BOUND BY THORNS By Silver Knight The Omega in this story is strong, intelligent, but naïve in Game Night. While doing all she can to protect herself, this story still gives us a villain to despise and several alpha knights in shining possessiveness. I cannot wait to see how this story unfolds into a full story because this little novella was definitely not enough.
8. THE BOUND ALPHA By K.C. Carmine This novella was unique and completely different to all other Omegaverse stories, and that is what I loved about it. Dominance and control in the hands of an omega is a heady thing to read and it was absolutely written to perfection.
9. BLESSED KNOT By Ivy Penn "Forgive me Father, for we will sin!" An Alpha, an Omega and a chase through the parish grounds. This is taboo in all the right ways, the thrill of the chase had me glued to the edge of seat, praying for a blessed end.
10. MATE'S REVENGE By Mandy Caruso This novella has a Romeo and Juliet feel, without the tragic ending. Forced apart but with a Games Night looming, has their love endured the distance and separation to grab their HEA. With secrets and betrayal, this was a beautiful love story.
11. BINDING BREANNA By Kitt Lynn This story did not go the way I thought it would and that was an absolute pleasure to read. No spoilers, just know you will love every part of this story and the ending is an absolute mic drop.
12. PIERCED AND PROTECTED By Colbie Cameron This novella left questioning whether I liked it or not. That is a sign of a great author and excellent writing. I've not read any Colbie Cameron stories before and this has me thinking about my TBR and new additions. There is dominance, submissiveness and complete control to the point of caring, which has left me confused and wanting to read more.
This review is for Elite Alphas: Hyaena only. This story is if the purge was about spicy time instead of unaliving with Omegaverse thrown in. It was fast moving and spicy. My only wish is that there was more.
I quite liked all of the stories. It seems like they are mostly the beginnings of books. They were very short, but interesting. I would definitely read the full-length novels if/when they are complete. The stories are very dark. Read the warnings.
It's a great dark romance premise, but in this volume, too many of the stories felt like intros to longer books. I wanted short, complete stories, not teasers. So I found myself frustrated after a while.
