This battle time is split up into a couple of different sections. The first bit of the book goes over a brief summary on who and what the storm cast are followed by the war for Thyria the book then focuses on the different types of storm hosts and all of the characters, heroes and units available to play there is a big inclusion to The Ruinations chamber I just feel like a lot of the lore was surface level more like a quick summary rather than a deep dive
Battletome for the Stormcast Eternals for the four edition of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar includes all the usual lore and rules for those who wish to play Sigmar’s chosen.
The background section covers the history of the Stormcast, from their inception to the Hour of Ruin to a greater or lesser degree, with a reasonable mix in in and out of universe information. There is quite a bit of information on the Ruination Chambers in the background section, something that is to be expected as they are the newest addition to the faction, all of which is quite interesting and a logical progression of the ongoing narrative of the Flaw in Reforging.
The artwork is as good as normal, as is the model photography, which includes some nice effects, such as the lightning added to the picture of the Reclusians arriving. I am still not much of a fan of using models for the bestiary section, as I feel that it can lead to too much repetition of images.
The rules section includes all the usual rules using Stormcast Eternals in the basic game, as well as the Path to Glory and Spearhead versions, all of which seem reasonably good for this edition of the game. The Anvil of Apophasis Path to Glory rules are as good as usual, giving some nice conversion and story possibilities, but some options for different weapons would have been nice, but I always think additional options is better. The two Stormcast specific skill paths are also relatively good. The rules for the Vigilant Brotherhood Spearhead seem quite good and, as usual, includes some basic painting advice to paint them as part of the Hammers of Sigmar Stormhost which is nice, even if I would like some of the other Stormhosts to get some of the spotlight. The two Armies of Renown (Ruination Chamber and Hammers of Sigmar themed) that seem reasonably good, if a bit unimaginative, and two Regiments of Renown (a Vanguard regiment and a pair of Draconith riding Stormcast) for players of other Order factions to use that seem cool.
