V. Irai Anbu (Tamil: வெ. இறையன்பு) is an IAS Officer, writer, educator, social activist and motivational speaker. He is the current Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu Government .

Irai Anbu has been a motivational speaker and hosted a show named Kalloori Kaalangal ( Tamil: கல்லூரி காலங்கள் ) in DD Pothigai in which he shared his experiences about his college life. He has written more than 150 books.

"Vedikkai Manidhargal" (வேடிக்கை மனிதர்கள்) by Ve. IraiAnbu is a casual, page-turner read. I was introduced to this book when I was in 8th or 9th grade. Our senior principal read a chapter from it at school assembly, and I bought the second edition (2007) a few weeks later. I remember liking the book back then. Now, 15 years later, my mom asked me to take some old books from our ancestral home. That's when I decided to reread it, and I have mixed feelings. Some jokes land well, while others don't; some parts are clearly exaggerated, and a few feel a bit outdated. Nonetheless, it's an enjoyable read overall.
