I loved the idea of Power Stones! It adds such an interesting layer to the story. Arik is a relatable protagonist, and the supporting characters are just as compelling. Some parts of the story felt a bit rushed, but overall, it kept me hooked until the very end.

Arik is exactly the kind of hero I love—flawed, complex, and deeply compelling. What sets Power Stone - Light & Shadow apart is its focus on themes like identity, oppression, and loyalty, which are explored in ways that feel both fresh and thought-provoking. The magic system, centered on power stones with unique effects, is as fascinating as it is terrifying. The idea that magic can alter who someone fundamentally is gives the story an edge that I don’t often see in fantasy.
The pacing starts off a bit slow, but once it picks up, I couldn’t put it down. Arik’s journey—both external and internal—is so well-written that I found myself completely immersed. The side characters are also incredibly layered, adding even more depth to the world. I loved how their relationships with Arik evolved, often in surprising and emotionally charged ways.
The worldbuilding is phenomenal. From the Shadow Walkers to the oppressive Church of Light, every detail feels intentional and vivid. You can tell the author put a lot of thought into the factions, their motivations, and the overarching conflicts.
That said, it’s not a light read—you need to pay attention, as the plot and magic system are intricate. I did get lost a few times, but that’s part of what makes it such a rewarding book.
I’ll definitely be reading the sequel. This is a strong debut that fantasy fans shouldn’t miss.

Arik is such a well-rounded hero! His journey is filled with struggles and growth, and I loved every minute of it. The concept of Power Stones is super unique, and the way they affect the characters’ personalities makes the story even better. While the start was a bit slow for me, it definitely picked up later. I’m already looking forward to the next book!
