"Gino's is down here." I shoved my hands into my jacket pockets and started down the hall. Jason hesitated again. This time, I wasn't worried. He was either going to follow me, or get back in the elevator by himself. I counted to three and smiled. The sound of footsteps hurrying after me usually gets that reaction. We walked together to the end of the hall to a door with a large sign bearing the name 'Gino's' in fancy script. I knocked and waited. The door ignored me so I knocked again. This time, it opened and the heavenly smell of frying hamburger drifted through the crack. Jason's eyes lit up brighter than the hall bulbs. I snickered, pushed the door open and walked into what had once been a living room. Jason followed me, stopped just inside the door and stared at the mystic symbols etched into the walls, his jaw hanging almost to his knees. I took my jacket off, tossed it to one side then cracked my knuckles and turned around. "Welcome to Gino's." I grinned again, only this time not so nicely. His face turned the shade of French vanilla ice cream and he backed up. Right into the waiting arms of Gino himself. I smirked. "You shoulda run when you had the chance." When Lynda passes her final exam with flying colors, she graduates into the elite world of Wizards. Unexpected side effects of her graduation spell, an evil wizard with designs on the city and a nosy mother complicate things. Lynda finds her life spiraling into chaos and to make matters worse, she's falling in love!

She coulda had Harry Dresden but she chose Jason instead!

Lynda is a brand spanking new freshly minted wizard. In fact, for her final magic exam in front of a group of senior wizards - which she passed with flying colours - Lynda chose to cast a binding spell on a young man who "volunteered" to accompany her from a local hangout spot. Well, he didn't REALLY volunteer but ... no matter ... Linda could hardly have been more pleased with the success of her spell. What Lynda failed to predict that night was that like a flywheel that just came off its axle, her life was about to spin irretrievably out of control.

An evil wizard has very ugly designs on taking over both her and her city; her binding spell, now quite irreversible has worked way too well and, wouldn't you just know it, she's falling in love and has to deal with some very meddlesome parents!

SPELLBOUND is an utterly charming young adult urban fantasy that can be read in a single sitting (and almost certainly will be) because I dare say you'll be as charmed as I was. The dialogue flows with pinpoint natural ease and the story will carry you along to an obvious but heartwarming ending.

Recommended for fun-loving readers looking for something guaranteed to make them smile!

Opening sentence “…I headed for the alley entrance and rode the service elevator to Gino’s floor…”

This is a nice fluffy read – was absolutely what I needed when I read it as was going through a pretty stressful time at work and I just needed a book that would entertain me with a story I could immerse myself in and go along for the ride. This fitted the sport perfectly.
Lynda is about to sit her final exam so she can become a junior wizard. She lures Jason into Gino’s apartment and binds him to her permanently. After she passes her exam she takes the miniaturized Jason and puts him in a terrarium in her flat. Eventually she begins to feel sorry for what she has done and brings him back up to normal size. She can’t undo the spell, and can’t free him. Jason is also really cute – would she undo the spell if she could? Could it be possible for Jason to love her of his own free will when he is magically bound to her.

Before she can find out Lynda needs to fight an evil wizard, save the town and set Jason’s life in order as best she can.
