Keira Knightley is an Oscar-nominated actress, a Broadway star, and an OBE appointed by Buckingham Palace for her widespread advocacy and charity work. She is now an author, illustrator, songwriter, singer, and audiobook narrator thanks to this adorable children’s book that is perfect for bedtime or naptime whether you read it or listen to her read it.

The story is from the perspective of a child who is feeling just a bit left out and unloved because of a new addition to the family. She wishes her younger sister away, and it works (thanks to a bit of the fairy tale magic that happens sometimes in books). But did she really want this new world without her sister? If not, how can she get her back?

A book about family, love, magic, a talking cat omg omg omg, and being careful what you wish for. I absolutely loved it, and I could not stop grinning through the entire thing. 5 big stars from me!

Yep, we’ve seen celebrity vanity projects come and go, but this book has enough gumption, it could have been published under a pen-name and still soared.

Ein Baby zieht ein, was mit viel Freude und Aufregung einhergeht, kann bei den Geschwistern für gemischte Gefühle sorgen. Eifersucht und Unsicherheiten schleichen sich ein. Die Erfahrungen mit ihren beiden Töchtern hat Keira Knightley nun in einem Kinderbuch beschrieben und selbst illustriert.

Das Buch ist sehr künstlerisch gehalten und kein klassisches Kinderbuch, wie sie gerade zu Hauf auf dem Markt zu finden sind. Tatsächlich würde ich die Zielgruppe hier eher bei den Eltern als bei den Kindern sehen. Die Handlung mit den Illustrationen erscheint an manchen Stellen eher unheimlich, wie ein Fiebertraum. Die große Schwester wünscht sich ihre kleine Schwester weg und wird dann von riesigen Katzen und Vögeln in einer abstrakten Welt herumgetragen, um das Baby schließlich doch wieder mit nach Hause zu bringen.

Ich finde die Geschwisterthematik wird da nicht ganz so gut aufgearbeitet. Wie geht man mit Eifersucht unter Geschwistern um, wie kann man die Thematik kindgerecht aufbereiten? Man schickt jeden Beteiligten in einen Fiebertraum? Ich denke nicht...
Das Buch kam beim Vorlesen nun auch nicht so gut an. Ich fand auch den Text nicht ganz so auf den Punkt gebracht, weiß allerdings nicht, ob dies der Übersetzung geschuldet war. Teilweise hatte ich den Eindruck, das gereimt werden sollte, doch dann ging dies größtenteils gar nicht auf.
Die meisten Illustrationen sind schon sehr ansprechend gestaltet. Wobei Keira Knightleys Stärken in Pflanzen- und Tierdarstellungen liegen und die Menschen nicht ganz so stark wirkten.

Ich habe bei diesem Buch das Gefühl, dass es nur verlegt wurde, weil so ein großer Name dahinter steht, der die Verkäufe ankurbeln soll. Andernfalls hätte so ein spezieller Titel wahrscheinlich keine Plattform bei einem großen Publikumsverlag bekommen. Was echt schade ist, dass mich dieses Gefühl nicht loslässt.

"Ich habe dich ganz genauso lieb" von Keira Knightley ist möglicherweise nur für Hardcore-Fans der Autorin geeignet und weniger für Eltern mit einer Geschwister-Eifersuchtsproblematik oder gar Kinder. Echt schade!

Süß, aber befremdlich

Als ihr kleines Geschwisterchen Lily zur Welt kommt, ist das Erzähler-Kind plötzlich kein Einzelkind mehr. Aus dem „wir lieben niemanden so wie dich.“ wird plötzlich ein „Ich hab dich ganz genauso lieb.“
Das Erzähler-Kind muss plötzlich seine Eltern teilen, mit einem Baby, dass ständig laut ist und ständig Aufmerksamkeit braucht. Anstatt in den Schlaf gekuschelt zu werden, soll sie nun alleine schlafen. Anstatt gekuschelt zu werden, hört sie nun durch die Tür des elterlichen Zimmers, dass die Mutter Ihrer kleinen Schwester ihr Schlaflied singt….
Sie wird eifersüchtig und wünscht sich, dass ihr kleines Schwesterchen wieder weggeht. Als das Schwesterchen dann von einem Vogel entführt wird, stellt sie plötzlich fest, dass sie (wenn ihre kleine Schwester langweilig ist, sie doch vermisst! Sie macht sich auf die beschwerliche Reise, ihr Schwesterchen zurückzuholen.
Eine sehr süße und doch sehr treffende Darstellung der Geschwisterliebe, insbesondere der ältesten Geschwister, wenn das erste Geschwisterkind kommt. Süß gemacht, zwischendurch allerdings etwas befremdlich.

👶Por ello, es un sentimiento común para ellos querer volver a la situación anterior y desear que el nuevo integrante desaparezca.
🐈‍⬛Pero la magia del amor se abre paso y, mientras la niña emprende la aventura de encontrar a su recién llegada hermanita, van despertando en ella sentimientos que no sabía que tenía.

Das Buch "Ich hab dich ganz genauso lieb" von Keira Knightley ist ein sehr schön gestaltetes Kinderbuch. Die Bilder haben schöne, ausdrucksstarke Zeichnungen und spielt mit verschiedenen Techniken - mal nur Bleistift, mal eher Kollage und dann wieder ganz bunt.
Das Buch beginnt vor der Geburt des Geschwisterchens. Damals hat die Mama immer gesagt, dass sie das Kind wie nichts auf der Welt liebt - jetzt sagt sie "ich hab dich ganz ganauso lieb." - das fühlt sich wie eine Verschlechterung an. Lilly, das Baby, bekommt den Platz neben Mama im Bett, wird gekuschelt und ihr wird das Nachtlied vorgesungen. Das große Kind ist eifersüchtig. Im Traum aber wird das Baby von den Vögeln weggetragen und sie hat die Entscheidung, ob sie in das Vorher zurück möchte oder lieber lernen möchte, sich mit der aktuellen Situation zu arrangieren.
Sie muss ihr Schwesterchen suchen und erst mit Hilfe der Katze und schließlich auch alleine dem Vogel folgen. Am Ende finden sie gemeinsam den Weg nach Hause und genießen es, dass sie gemeinsam von den Eltern geliebt werden und auch sich gegenseitig lieb haben können.

Ich war echt erstaunt, als ich erfahren habe, dass Keira Knightley nicht nur eine tolle Schauspielerin ist, die ich total mag, sondern auch Bücher schreibt! Das Buch Ich hab dich ganz genauso lieb habe ich zusammen mit meiner kleinen Cousine gelesen, die erst 4 Jahre alt ist.

Es war richtig schön zu sehen, wie sie sich über die Geschichte gefreut hat und wir gemeinsam in die liebevollen Bilder und Worte eingetaucht sind. Das Buch erzählt auf eine einfache und herzliche Weise davon, wie sehr man jemanden liebhaben kann – perfekt für kleine Kinder und auch für Erwachsene, die solche Momente mit den Kleinen genießen wollen.

Ich finde es total süß und empfehle es besonders, wenn ihr eine schöne Geschichte sucht, die ihr mit euren kleinen Geschwistern, Kindern oder Cousinen zusammen lesen könnt. Für mich war es eine schöne Überraschung, dass Keira Knightley so ein warmherziges Kinderbuch geschrieben hat!

This book was so heartfelt, I listened to it twice, back to back.

It is so beautiful and true! And sad! And happy!

It’s the ambivalent sadness you feel when you are looking at your childhood home. Or the sad you feel when it’s the morning of the last day of school.

Or when you’re grasping the enormity of the world - it has gotten just a little bit bigger, but it feels like there’s so much space now, that you don’t know what to do with it.

It makes me think of my very early childhood memories of growing up with older siblings. - it is so realistic in its child-like understanding of love and sadness and acceptance.

It’s the first moment you realised love cannot be quantified and that always seems like loss.

Loved it. I want to find a way to have it where I live.

(P.s. I find it SO unfair that a woman so beautiful, an actress so talented and a speaker so eloquent could ALSO write (AND SING??!?) so well?? Truly an accomplished woman, even by Mr Darcy’s standards. Preposterous!)

Normally I wouldn't be curious, much less buy anything by a celebrity's name alone, especially of a children's book around Christmas time. But this intrigued me enough on a book shopping trip, and as it turns out, it is quite charming, creative, and touching.

'I Love You Just the Same', written and illustrated by Keira Knightley, based around her own daughters, is a bedtime fable for siblings that is like 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Labyrinth', with amazing experimental and avant-garde drawings. These don't always match what is written - when they are supposedly done by the same person - but the picture and poetry book is nevertheless a sweet children's tale of little sisters and family. And cats. And pigeons. And a mysterious, symbolic red ball.

'I Love You Just the Same' - a loving, creative effort and effect. A mother's love shines all through it. I will be giving it to my nieces as a Christmas gift.

Počula som o tejto knihe - Keira o nej vravela u Jimmyho Fallona ale netušila som, že je taká nádherná 😍 Keira je tak neskutočne talentovaná! Tie ilustrácie sú mega detailné, plné živých farieb a je vidieť, že to neni profesionál ale práve to je na tom nádherné! Z tej knihy srší neskutočná láska voči jej obom dcérkam, pre ktoré túto knižku napísala a ilustrovala a je to z tých stránok veru cítiť. Veľmi touching a ten príbeh je tiež fantastický a krásny :) poteší srdiečko. Ďakujeme za nádhernú knihu po vizuálnej aj čitateľskej stránke! Naozaj som speechless

Nečekala jsem, že tuhle knížku přečtu, natož tak, že bude jednou z nejlepších. Otevřela jsem ji náhodně v knihkupectví a do deseti minut mi zmizela pod rukama. No, dostala jsem jeden z nejkrásnějších příběhů.. Krásný, krásný, krásný! Jeden z top picků mých přečtených knih! Of course there is a bit a jealousy when mom and dad decide to bring home a new baby. But not only that, mom is singer her the song she once sang for me! If I wish her away, can she stay away?

This book was so cozy and adventurous. Sometimes we may wish for something we may not exactly mean. Change is inevitable, but, we can learn to grow with change and love and accept the new norm.
