This book is an excellent continuation of the Alien Invasion series, like the movie "Independence Day" 4.0. The author has vividly narrated the scenes of a world on the brink of destruction and that it's placed in the capable hands of our heroes. We can see the power of human resilience and how they make meaningful connections to survive on this earth. It is excellent world-building for the author, realistic, and has a great story. The central characters significantly add value to the story; Presiden Cardona is courageous and extraordinary with tactics and a competent leader. Cpl Foxy and Lt. Jet sound like peter pans lost boys. It's fascinating how the characters navigate through complex political or military challenges, especially when there's an alien invasion that they have to think of.

I see the other review. I too was a betareader for this one and it's gooooooooooooooood. There's a lot to cheer for in this one. It sucks that the gorgs came back but at least this time everyone was ready for them. Kinda like if they had to play whack-a-mole with us, haha we're down in our Blockades again, you can't get us, neener neener. In the end, it's kind of like Matrix Revolutions where they're all shooting up at the opening into Zion, so it kind of played like that, but I really enjoyed where Ryan took us in revealing how the gorgons spread out across the galaxy, why they came, what they do. Really insane species. Hope there's more after this one!

The book is a part of a very intense alien series. This particular part is mostly bated waiting for the dark forces to create fresh havoc on earth while people are still trying to recover from the q6 years of onslaught by the paralyzing aliens. At the beginning of the book the author thoughtfully includes the summaries of the preceeding books so that a new reader can instantly understand the context of the story and enjoy the book.

Best science fiction book!

This book is a must for lovers of science fiction, fantasy and suspense. From the first page, the book left me surprised and wanting to keep reading until I finished the stories, surprises and situations that kept appearing in front of my eyes.
The book is about a new alien attack in a devastated future and all the plot with its main characters. It is full of action, strategy and resilience in a world that is full of challenges and desperate struggles for survival.
What I liked the most is that it is an easy to read book and the author explains the characters, scenarios and situations with so much detail that you start to believe that you are living in the book and living all these experiences with the characters.
In short, it is the best book of the saga so far. Highly recommended

Highly engaging
“Dissonance- volume IV” is an engaging part that many readers have been waiting for. The series of Dissonance is much more than a novel, it’s a story that goes beyond people’s imagination and lets them think about a far distant future full of dangers, aliens but at the same time, full of survivors who want to save the earth. I liked Aaron Ryan’s writing style because he depicts every situation in detail and allows readers to feel immersed in the story.
This sequence of the story has several turns and twists that change the course of the plot, leaving sometimes uncertainties in every chapter, but invites readers to continue reading. If sci-fi is your cup of tea, you should read the whole series of Dissonance. I highly recommend it.

An engaging story.

It is the fourth book of the Alien Invasion Post Apocalyptic Fiction series by Aaron Ryan. The human survivors believe they have defeated the gorgons but the victory was short-lived and now they return even stronger.
This saga is a great choice for fans of sci-fi and apocalyptic stories. I liked it because it is fast-paced and the plot is very well built. I think one of the best things about this book are its characters because beyond science fiction, they are believable and coherent.
It is a futuristic read full of action, intrigue and intensity. When I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed it and I recommend it!

I read this as a Beta-reader and it was really, really compelling. Whereas the previous ones were more centered around the war-weary Cameron, now its President Vance Cardona, the one-time AWOL captain marked for elimination by the nefarious President Graham. It's 3 years later, and he's now supplanted her as Commander in Chief, but lo and behold, here comes yet another craft, wondering what's up with the first one that set upon us in '26. Now it's a game of Space Invaders, shooting them down before they can wreak havoc on our planet and render us all as a good meal yet again. This time though, there's a ton of tension in the leadup as people continue to exhibit dissonance, don't get along, war with eachother, make excuses, and all of the crap that we crappy humans do to each other. In the end, it all works out somehow - spoiler - and we go home happy. But there are some big surprises before the end that really let you in on a lot of the gorgons' origins and their modus operandi. You learn a LOT more about them this go 'round. I loved it. Wild ride. Nice work, Aaron Ryan.

Just when it seems that hope can return to humanity, another Gorgon ship arrives, and a new invasion begins. But this time humans have a slight edge: they know the Gorgons are coming. Fans of this series will love this new addition. New characters emerge and a new strategy to fight back gets put into play. The action is well crafted, and the narrative moves at a fast pace. This is a great series to get for young fans of science fiction, especially since this newest chapter is being released right before the holidays!

A book that I highly recommend, it is a fictional series that is about a post-apocalyptic alien invasion that has all the intrigue and mystery necessary for you not to put the book down even to get a drink of water. I really liked the development of the characters and how each one manages to add depth to the plot, which is also very interesting and full of unexpected twists that will make you suffer a little. Another thing that stands out in this reading is the narrative of the author, as I consider that even if you are not a fan of this type of readings, he manages to immerse you in this battle for humanity and that makes it a must read.

A cinematic conclusion to a great series.

Though Volume Three offered a great conclusion to the original trilogy, this sequel brought together all of the elements that I loved so much from the rest of the series and delivered an epic addition. Action packed sequences balanced with a strong look into humanity. Effortlessly immersive and emotionally riveting. Inspiring and captivating in every way. I couldn’t stop reading this one. Whether you are a fan of alien invasion sagas or raw survival stories with an emphasis on the resilience of the human spirit, this is a book and series for you.

Volume IV of the Dissonance series takes us back into the lives of the survivors of Earth as they are finally beginning to feel safe after decades of destruction and gorgon battles. Not only did they have to fight otherworlders, but their own president was dangerous and had to be stopped. But they're coming out of the shadows too soon. The Gorgons are back, and ready for revenge, and they have help. This may be the time that Earth is done for good.

I loved that they came back. I don't think you can do that many more times; otherwise it just looks like poor management of the planet. But it plays very much like an episode of Jack Bauer and CTU from "24": complete with rogue elements and moles. It's very well done. The tension is a slow burn buildup to the final arrival and a hugely climactic battle that just rages on non-stop with new revelations and terrifying discoveries. A worthy sequel indeed. Highly recommended.
