This is a highly entertaining and imaginative tale with great characters and settings. My only gripe related to one particular Americanism - "candy" instead of "sweets", which is the British equivalent in this context - and the use of "Buckingham" as a shortened version of Buckingham Palace. The British say "the Palace". Buckingham is a market town situated in Buckinghamshire. Nevertheless, I recommend this series to young and old.

epic

Great daft nonsense that makes you happy to be alive. The author has cleverly adapted an alternative 18C with some myths & legends. Although after reading the compete series I’m unsure if they are true. Skilled writing where you can picture a character just from a catch phrase they use. Perfect book for long dark winter evenings
