Cowboy Carter: The Most Dangerous Cowboy in Texas

Rate this book
She invaded my peace scared and seeking refuge in my barn house. But I'm know Captain Saviour and she's no Angel .
She's annoying as hell and mouthy with no filter. She says whatever's on her mind, no matter how poorly judged it maybe.
She's everything I don't want.
But still, she is everything I need.
Is her love worth the risk and danger that comes with her?
Is she worth risking my land for?
I ask myself this constantly.
I'm Cowboy Lucus Carter.... Some may say I'm the most dangerous Cowboy in Texas, but I say... No one is exempt from death. Especially when THE CARTEL is involved.

ok

2.5 overall this book was ok and the pace was fast which didn’t bother me. I just wish some of the story line was flushed out with the pace of the book.

Did not finish

Definitely not for me. I did not finish due to editing. I also was not a fan of Royal. Her character rubbed me wrong. Despite her character, I would have read her story had the editing been better. Wrong words, incorrect tenses, and misplaced punctuation kept me from getting into the story. I gave it 2 stars because the opening chapter was interesting, and despite the errors, I wanted to know more about Apollo and Carter.

Quick but interesting read

This was the first book I’ve read about a black cowboy and it kept my interest. It had a good mix of action and romance to keep anyone engaged. There were a few typos that I noticed that caught me off-guard but not enough to ruin the book. I like that the story ended in a place where it could be a standalone book but she could also write a part 2 down the line if she felt like it. Overall it was good and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, sexy read

Cowboy Carter is a serious bae!! He took charge immediately after his encounter with the beautiful Royal! She had been stripped away from her fiancé and a life she loved by Miguel, the evil Mexican!! She escaped to the solace of Lucus Carter’s ranch in Texas and he rescued her and they became one!! He fought the Mexicans and sold his ranch and relocated to Hawaii!! I can’t imagine a Cowboy Carter in Hawaii without his horses!! However, I’m sure they’re making it work!! I love my Cowboy reads!! I want MORE!!!!

Quick Read Insta Love, Damsel in Distress!

Imagine waiting until you were married to lose your virginity only to be taken violently and raped and forced to stay with your captor for two years in another country. Then when you finally have the opportunity to escape you have to use your body once again to help you stay alive.

Short but worth the read! You get kidnapped from an Air Bnb and held hostage for two years then your escape leads you to a cowboy who’s all about that action. I’m going to need a part two because the ending made me scream. 🙄

It’s a quick read, perfect if you’re into spicy cowboy romances. However, it felt heavier on the spice than the plot, and how quickly they fell in love felt a bit unrealistic. While I understand we’re humans and we make mistakes, the numerous grammatical errors were distracting.

Found Love

What a love story! this story started out with a tragic beginning but ended in a true love story. Carter was the real thing. Royal finding love was a great thing, but what else happens?

The story of Lucas and Royal was a good listen! There has to be a book 2 to discuss the baby! Will it have green eyes??? What's up with Apollo? My goodness!

The book has potential. The events seemed to rush and lacked character development. Also the intimate scenes were cringey to read.

But was he the most dangerous cowboy in Texas, really? I mean yeah Lucus did stab a man's hand into his (Lucus) office table, but I wouldn't translate that into Lucus being the most dangerous cowboy

not long enough

A good story but wasn’t long enough, wondering what Apollo had to tell Lucas, I’m guessing the Cartel is still looking for royal and lucas, please finish the story.

If you like drama, mafia, damsel in distress types books, I think you’ll enjoy this. It’s quick and to the point with plenty of spicy scenes throughout. I also enjoyed the action, shoot-out, and fight scenes, and the mafia plot added another level to an otherwise run of the mill-Insta romance story. Our MC Royal is also so helpless that you can’t help rooting for her.

I rated it two stars because I am not a big fan of insta love, and although I liked Lucus I found it unbelievable that he’d fallen in love with Royal within 1 day. So much so that he was willing to take on the full wrath of the cartel AND sell his beloved Ranch that had been in his family for 7 generations. They’d literally known each other for maybe 2 days before he was asking her to marry him, knowing she was also pregnant with another man’s child! The book was just too short to make me believe or fall in love with their story.

Secondly, there were ALOT, and I mean ALOT of grammatical errors that at times made it difficult to enjoy reading.

Not an altogether terrible book, but I think a lot of the issues I had could for sure be improved with a second installment so help us get to know the characters more and also fix any editing errors.
