This was an Author requested review and this might be a case of 'be careful what you ask for'. I found this book engaging at times, but I also found Gabby, Angel of God to be jumbled and confusing in many of the plot twists and turns. I also found the story to be very preachy at times, well beyond what I expected for a novel about an angel of God. The story revolves around Bo, a grieving widower, who meets Gabby, an angel of God sent here on missions of God to help people. These missions often involve fighting demons in human form. The main character Bo is often confused by the events that unfold, and so is the reader. The minor characters are never fully developed and just feel like pawns that Gabby toys with. Gabby must leave in two weeks, although the reason makes very little sense. Bo also has the chance to go back in time to see his dead wife. He is given instructions to be careful not to disrupt time or there will be serious consequences, but he does make big changes & there don't seem to be any consequences to his actions. Unless supernatural & spiritual based stories are your preferred genre, I would not recommend the book.
"Gabby, Angel of God: Guardian and Messenger: Keeper of Love, Joy, Peace,..." by Greg Sandora is a beautiful and inspiring story, a somewhat bittersweet story of love, loss and recovery. But it is also features some supernatural action, a combination that works surprisingly well. Helped by an unusual angel, Gabby our protagonist, recently widowed Bo, comes to terms with his loss and finds again his direction in life. Gabby is attractive yet unattainabe; she is gentle and caring but also tough and fights evil and demons. She teaches Bo about heaven and earth and about the purpose of life while being a fighter. You have to read the book to see how well all this comes together. The book is written with sensitivity yet with an eye for fun and adventure. It is a pleasant and enjoyable read, thoughtful and entertaining.
I have always been a fan of anything supernatural/paranormal, thus I can’t hold back my excitement when I received a pre-published copy of Greg Sandora’s latest book “Gabby, Angel of God”. The story revolves around the life of a widower, who felt life has just become a routine, in which he just needs to play along. Without his knowledge, God has already written his destiny long ago and this includes an angelic intervention, which he never thought possible.
What I like about this book is how free-flowing the author relates the story. Everything is exquisitely explained, which I found to be helpful, especially if you’re describing something out of the ordinary, in this case, an angel. The story was written so intricate and plausible that you’ll start to marvel if the author has actually seen a real angel.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic fantasy with a twist. This differs from other novels that treads on the usual story lines. It is created in an all-new different concept making it one of the best angel stories I’ve read so far.
I have to start off by saying that this book was way out of my genre, but like all books, the synopsis of the book spiked my interest and I decided to give it a shot. I absolutely loved the story line. It was captivating and addicting all at once. I was shocked and in awe with the plot and some of the things that happened throughout the story.
At first, when I started reading this book, I did get a bit leery about it due to the references about God, due to the fact that my beliefs are a bit different, but the more I read the more I fell in love with the story. The message in this story is remarkable and I do believe that we all have our own guardians looking out for us. I highly recommend this amazing story to all believers and even non-believers. This story will truly change your mind.
This is such a sweet and heartwarming book. Reading it I felt as if I was in church, surrounded by choir music and a feel good feeling. Gabby is tough. She is also rather smart. She also has a way of explaining stuff about Heaven that made me think of The Shack by William P Young. I loved it.
In Gabby, Angel of God, Bo is a grieving widower when he first meets Gabby. He’s struck by her beauty, her easy-going ways, and she sparks something inside of him that he never thought possible. In fact, she’s almost too good to be true, helping those in need, wanting to take care of everyone, and in general just being a good person. Although caring, she’s also quite tough and capable of standing up for herself and others. But Gabby is actually an Angel, and she’s come to help Bo find his path to the destiny God has written for him a long time ago. Bo never thought something of the sort would be possible, let alone would happen to him, but it does so either way.
The story is a little bittersweet at times though. Because while Bo falls for Gabby, she won’t let her own desire interfere with God’s orders and the mission she’s been sent to do. Bo on the other hand will lose another woman he loves. Of both characters, I liked Bo the most, probably because it’s easier to relate to him, with him being human and all. Gabby comes across as angelic, unattainable, harder to comprehend for the reader – which makes sense, of course, but this made it easier to relate to Bo’s struggles than to hers.
There’s an interesting view on the supernatural in the book, on religion and divinity, all while bringing a heart-warming and inspiring story. Ideal for the holidays, and in general for anyone who likes books that reflect on spirituality and faith, or just a good read for that matter.
This is an exceptionally sweet story where love is the theme and the plot. The author did an exceptional job in highlighting romantic love, respect and love of life and using what they have in common to weave his plot while he uses their differences to weave his theme. I found this ability to be exceptional.
Gaby herself is a kick@s$ heroin and her sexual attractiveness is used to lure, to pacify and to blind. Her world view however left me feeling uplifted and hopeful. Bo is a man, a somewhat more insightful character than your normal 35 year old protagonist. The two of them together forms a reflection of humanities ability and acts as a mirror in which we can see our best possible selves if only we would crawl to church. The crawling bit is from the book. I loved it, and it left me feeling guilty still it like so much else in this book evoked feelings from me. That is what I want from a book. I want it to make me feel. The end of this story left me feeling hopeful and ....well. Read it.
My one and only complaint I have regarding this book is the naive voice the author chose for Bo and even Gaby. Gaby, being an Angel in a way made sense. Bo, a bit less. So how is this for irony? This naive pov also adds to the story. My conflicting view over if it added more than it took away is mine. Read it. Decide for yourself. Get your copy today.
Not a bad story, an easy read but I did find it a bit juvenile at times. Think this could be categorized as YA.
I appreciated the meaning of the story but felt that considering Bo was 35 years old he seemed quite immature to me. Again not a bad story and it does a have a nice, special meaning. Deals with love, loss, faith and finding the goodness in people. Has some paranormal activity which is fine with me I have no problems with PN but saying that the author has to make it somewhat believable and I have to admit there were times where I did roll my eyes.
Again I think this may be better for a young adult, not adults who are YA fan but more suited for young adults. IMO
This is not my typical read. Bo has lost his wife, Sally, but through his faith and pure soul gets a touch of heaven. Gabby, an angel, shows Bo how amazing life can be through the love of God. I wish Bo had been a little more grateful for the blessings he was given. But he is human and we tend to miss out on some blessings. I know why we were given the finale, but almost wished it wasn't so. Life's not always perfect. Overall the message was very positive in the book. Yes it's about faith and God so don't read it if that offends you. But your missing out!
Like reading a comic book... Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2020 Verified Purchase The first few chapters were pretty good, involving the initial contact with an angel... But it went downhill from there. The storyline became increasingly chaotic, dealing with demonic saloons in Montana, time travel and other odd things. Recommended? Not really.
I was recommended this book by a friend, so I decided to try it.
Bo Garrett is a widower and a father of two. He is a man who has lost, not only the love of his life, but his way. I liked this character very much. He is a bit of a doubting Thomas, but when he meets Gabby, he goes on a journey of self discovery.
This is not a book I would typically pick up, nor is it one of the first genre's on my list. However, I try not to judge a book on the cover (or even on the rather long title!), as I like to keep an open mind and try new things. I do love supernatural romance thrillers, so I started to read it and was pleasantly surprised. The tale is one of love, loss, hope and faith. The book is relatively short, but I kept getting interrupted and found that I wasn't able to concentrate on it, which made me a little annoyed. However, once I managed to get rid of all distractions, I found myself turning the pages. Unfortunately, some of the scenes seemed to jump erratically and not have as much fluidity as I would have liked. I got a bit confused at one point, and was unsure if a few of the scenes were real or a dream. Nevertheless, some of the scenes were quite touching and inspirational. I am not the most religious person out there, but I am not a non believer either. Some of the thoughts shared by Gabby are quite deep and meaningful. I don't know why, but as I was reading this book, a song began playing in my head: All You Need Is Love by The Beatles. It sort of summed up my thoughts about this book and it's message. As this is a supernatural thriller, there are some really dark and twisted scenes that made me shudder! However, there is also romance to balance out the evil. The ending has a huge twist, which I wasn't expecting. This book has left me with mixed emotions; I still haven't figured out what they are yet!
Greg Sandora has written a most unusual supernatural romantic thriller. His writing style is relatively fast paced and his characters are interesting. I look forward to following his career with interest.
Due to some violence, I do not recommend this book to younger readers. However, I recommend this book if you love supernatural romance thrillers or Christian Fiction. - Lynn Worton
Strong fundamental Christian story of a man and an Angle who helps him to heal.
Initially I thought this novel would be a paranormal romance but found that to be the incorrect genre in my opinion. This novel is a well crafted look at a man's journey through loss and sorrow and an Angle who helps him heal.
I found this novel entertaining, funny and thoughtful. Gabby is an original creation and the novel is a poignant portrayal of Bo's journey. The theme throughout the prose is very relevant today, offering readers a different perspective on coping with loss and the confusion which follows. I would recommend the novel to anyone... young especially, who have or are suffering. ** Note** The author artfully deals with a number of dark and violent themes as his portrayals inform but do not delve into or cross the line into graphic territory.**
Greg Sandora has done a tremendous job allowing Gabby to be a curious and gregarious Angle of God. His portrayal of Gabby as fanciful, positive and loving is the key to the novels success. I felt her trying to help Bo understand his place and his purpose without the having to wade through heavy drama that bogs down so many fanciful stories. . I must be honest and include that I also felt there was more depth that had just not been added yet. I kept feeling the author wanted to say more but didn't. I believe the author did not explore several facets of the story fully. I felt I was a party to the creating of something much more.. and I felt the ending was rushed... and really not the outcome expected from the tone set throughout the book. I would rate this novel a 3.5 but feel it deserves the bump up to 4 for the authors adept way of weaving dark and gritty subject matter into the story without taking away from the joy.

This book has religious references, and depending on your beliefs you might be uninterested in this book, but it was an interesting story. I thought the full title was a bit long, but I went with it and dived in. This is a touching story for anyone who has lost someone, Gabby, our angel protector, and main character of the story is helping Bo, and guiding him, educating him about heaven, and helping him move on with his life. Despite what you believe, the plot of the story, the interactions with Gabby & Bo, and the general theme of the novel will leave you feeling a bit of hope. Bo was able to come to terms with the world, and learn to embrace something bigger and supernatural in order to allow him peace over the loss of his true love. Though there’s some feelings between Gabby & Bo, it’s not something that is distracting or overpowering, because it’s not the point of the story. Humans can’t resist angels, and it happens, but as a thriller, I’d say it was pretty good. I think it has more of the human interest element to this story, but with the angel interaction, and some of the adventures, you can clearly see how it falls into thriller. The main themes in this novel are faith, hope, and learning to love again. There’s a lot of explanation in this book, but I don’t feel it took away from the story much, I’m one of the people who like to figure things out themselves and not have everything explained, but it wasn’t that bad. Overall, I left the book with a feeling of hope, and thought it was an enjoyable read.

Angels exist and anything is possible. All you need is to believe. It’s not a new concept, but in Gabby Angel of God, Guardian and Messenger Greg Sandora gives us a thoroughly entertaining take on the idea - a supernatural thriller romance. Even if you don’t believe in angels after reading about Gabby you’ll want to.
Bo is a widower left with two kids. He misses his wife terribly and would give anything to be with her again. When he is visited by a beautiful angel he can’t help but fall in love with her - despite her warning him not to. She is irresistibly perfect, of course, and draws the attention of every man who sees her and the envy of women as well. But don’t let her natural allure and diminutive, 5'2" stature deceive you. She can wield a sword with the best of them and is here on earth to wage war against evil and, in the process, help humans in danger wherever she can. She's a super-heroine on a mission from God.
In the course of Gabby explaining many things about to the world and how creation works Bo begins to understand that his life is more of a brief interruption in the eternal life of his immortal soul. His purpose is to learn about love and loss in the physical world not letting the limitations imprison him.
The gentle blending of scientific concepts with a bit of theology here and there is presented in way I think most would find inoffensive. It is not at all a book that preaches but instead it suggests alternative views the world, the manifestation of evil and the possibilities of afterlife. Approach it with an open mind, as you may benefit from the read as much as Bo from getting to know an angel.
I was provided with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a book on faith and divinity in a different way. The book revolves around Bo, who's mourning from a recent grief. He is a widower and misses his wife awfully. Gabby is a beautiful and mesmerising angel who's on the earth with a mission - to battle evil and help people in distress and peril. As dainty and fragile as she seems, she is naturally made to be strong enough in order to handle evil as well as wage wars. When she enters Bo's life to help him, she helps Bo go back in time to speak to his wife. Gabby' wisdom also serves Bo to understand philosophical ideologies behind, life, death, loss, immortality and acceptance. Bo finds himself getting drawn towards Gabby, not paying heed to Gabby's warnings to not let himself fall in love with her.
The book has an interesting take on theological beliefs in the context of paranormal phenomena. The characterisation is handled fairly well - Gabby being an angel, doesn't come with human flaws. Although this is maybe argued as being idealist, but this is exactly what the author is trying to achieve - to portray a character that has the best understanding about spirituality and the ways of life. The points sometime seem slightly repetitive and looped, which might not appeal to the reader.
I would recommend this book to spiritually-inclined readers. There's a fair amount of portions in the book that deal with theology, divinity and faith. So it may not be suited for if it does fit with your belief principles and systems.
Gabby, Angel of God is a fantastical story about one man who is given a chance to see the workings of heaven, and its influence on earth, with the help of an angel. The romantic component is a nice 'warm fuzzy'; however, the book does lean toward the male fantasy in the description of Gabby (reminiscent of Weird Science).
The story lends a sincere and insightful message, as the main character combats the evil elements existing in the world with his inner moral strength while contemplating the collective integrity and morality of humankind.
At times, the situations that are created and interactions between the characters seem a bit hokey. In my mind, the way Bo behaves and expresses himself doesn't match the intellect and demeanor I would expect from a doctor in his thirties. I understand that he is taken with Gabby and everything that is happening to him, but I thought his general personality and reaction to the situations would be more analytic and mature. The writing style is descriptive and flows nicely. I also thought the scenarios were appropriately disturbing and entertaining in their respective parts.
The ultimate message in the story is to not be distracted by shiny, impermanent things in life or become bitter from loss. Instead, be grateful for what you have, no matter how little it may seem; life is short and precious. Overall, I appreciate the author's efforts and the message being conveyed, but I wish the delivery of the story was stronger.
I received this book via Story Cartel to give an honest review.
So if I was glancing at books I would probably not have even picked this book up based on its cover. Thank goodness I don't judge a book by its cover. After reading the story the cover to me doesn't really go with the book as I portray it. Now I thought the book started off way to good, I was really enjoying it. But I thought Gabby to be vague on what she was really doing there. It seems she only comes ever so often. This is a really short book, that can be read probably within 2 hours and that is without interruptions. Bo didn't seem as developed for me, he seemed really selfish, and maybe that is what the author wanted him to be. As we learn that God gave us all free will to make our choices. This is a really good story with love, hope and a sense of remembering the good that you have within yourself. The ending totally wasn't what I was expecting. Gabby is a kick butt angel that is ready to take down the evil that exist in man. Though there wasn't a lot of action like I was hoping!!
Then I hit a spot that had me confused and going umm wait what? It seemed to jump around a lot in some spots that I found myself going back to re-read and I dislike doing that. Not only once but twice.
Gabby, Angel of God has an overall decent plot. I enjoyed the journey I went on with Bo and Gabby. The author did a great job at pulling the reader in and taking them on one heck of a ride. The main character Bo, becomes a widower with two children and doesn't seem to know how to move on from the death of his wife. Gabby, an angel appears to him to teach him how to live again.
There were some aspects I didn't particularly care about through the story. At times it seemed hard to believe, such as an angel of God cussing or threatening demons or mortals. Once I read this, it was a bit harder for me to continue. Some of the ways Gabby portrayed herself, was hard for me to read.
There were parts of the story where I was really drawn in but at times I found the story dragging. I loved the references to God within the book. Books based upon faith are winners to me, however if you're not drawn into these types of books, I would pass.

He is a widow trying to raise his two small children while still dealing with the death of his beloved wife Sally. He is a man of deep faith but can’t seem to move forward from his grief. He feels lost and broken hearted. God sends and angel, Gabriella (Gabby) to earth to help Bo restore his purpose in life. Through her teachings, Bo’s mind expands, seeing the larger picture of life. He soon has a greater understanding of God and heaven. During the two weeks Gabby is on earth, Bo falls in love with her. What will happen to Bo when she must return to heaven? Author Greg Sandora has written a story that touches your heart, strengthens your faith and makes you want to celebrate life with a renewed enthusiasm. Stephanie Lasley
When I started reading Gabby, Angel of God, I thought it would be a normal paranormal romance story. As a romance book lover, little did I know that the characters would be so lively and super engaging till the very end of the story. Gabby, Angel of God is a story about a widower who stumbles upon an angel. Gabby actually guides Bo, the young widower and make him realize that there are more wonderful things in life to be cherished. Gabby also beautifully touches Bo's heart and help him to believe the power and existence of love. When I read this story, it makes me want to believe that Angels exist and if only we choose to believe the goodness in life, God will actually help us to ''see'' great things! It's a must read book!
Gabby Angel of God is a Christian story about Bo Garrett a man who has lost his wife and he also is the Father of two children. Bo has lost his way along with his wife. He doubts everything until he meets Gabby, he than embarks on a journey of self discovery. Gabby touches Bo's heart and helps him to realize life moves on even when someone we love die's. Heartfelt and beautifully written. It made me ask myself is there life after death?
Bo, human, and ungrateful as he is, is such a human and relatable caracter that I kinda hoped the ending would turn out --- well, not as it did.
Gabby is the type of Angel I would not mind having on my side. In this story the bad guys was bad. The good guys was AWHHHH and the story really really kept me turning the pages.
This was a free read in exchange for an honest review!
Honesty I am tempted to give this 5 stars. It deserves 4.5 in my book. In a brief summary I loved it. I was not my typical read, but it was great! The dynamics of a single widowed father and his two children and an Angel was wonderful! Overall it was a beautifully written story.
The story follows Gabby, an angel sent to earth to help Bo a grieving widiw struggling to get over the death of his wife. Gabby and Bo team up to fight evil both the demons from hell and the lowest of the low of humanity. I really enjoyed this book and reading what trouble the duo would get into next and it does make you question if there is really life after death.
Too bad you had to resort to the use of the lowest form of street language. I stopped reading at page 24, if this was any example,it was enough for me. Authors are supposed to have a good command of the entire language not just part (to sell books). R Urick
