As soon as I heard about this arc, I knew I had to have it. I loved the Night Nanny (Nelle L’Amour also writes suspense as Nelle Lamarr) so I knew I would enjoy this rewrite one of her older books. Check trigger warnings before reading. Right away this story grabs you. A reporter on a dangerous expose story. Skye is warned by her boss to let it go but she knows she can’t. She needs to stand up for women like her who have been mistreated by rich men. She vows to make the man who hurt her pay. I liked how this book highlighted a real problem women have with men who think they can treat women as objects and play things. I was hoping for more of a thriller with this book, especially with the nail biting beginning, but the middle was all love story. The end ramps back up and has you quickly turning pages again. Overall a great book, just the unrealistic love story part wasn’t for me. The fun thriller parts guarantee that I’ll read this author again!
I completed the book however it was a struggle. It was plodding and simplistic, almost childlike in the writing. Characters were shallow and selfish. It was difficult to cheer for anyone but Finn. At a certain point even cheering for him became difficult. The whole premise of the plot line has been done a million times but the twist here was not wildly enjoyable.
This author has quickly became a favorite of mine and this book definitely solidified that decision. I've read a few of Nelle's books and so far this one is hands down my favorite.
As soon as I read the burb, I knew this was a book I just had to read. And boy was a right!! I was hooked right from the beginning and found it difficult to put down.
It was original, suspenseful and absolutely thrilling.
This was a fantastic book! I wasn’t sure how it would be being an adaptation of the original, but I really truly loved it. The characters are built up brilliantly and it just made me want to read more and more. Loved all of Nelle’s books so far, she’s a fabulous writer!
WOW!!!!! Full of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming at all. So I was really curious to read this one since it was originally categorized as a romance novel that also had a bit of a psychological thriller in it. In my opinion this author did such a great job revamping it. I absolutely enjoyed it. It kept me hooked from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down. The characters were all great, the plot kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and the ending left me speechless. I really couldn’t ask for a better read. This author is one of my favorites and this book proved why. I can’t wait to see what comes out of her next.
In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
‘Remember Me’ is a masterfully crafted story that captivated me with its great plot, compelling characters, and a pace that quickened my heart. It showcased Nelle L’Amour’s ability to engage readers with a tale that is as thrilling as it is thought-provoking. For anyone seeking an exhilarating literary escape, this is a page-turner that promises to leave a lasting impression. ‘Remember Me’ is a must-read that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Thank you Nelle L’Amour for an early copy of your fantastic book.
This was a good fast paced thriller that kind of focused on mystery and the me too controversy. I think it was handled well since it deals with difficult subject matter to read or hear about. The suspense was really good as the main character tries to recover from a horrible accident and get her life back together but due to the circumstances of what happened to her she is forced to remain anonymous in witness protection and unfortunately cannot go back to the life she left behind or even let her loved ones know she’s still alive since they thought she died in the accident. By a crazy weird coincidence she ends up being in her family’s life in a new role and little by little is drawn back in. Thankfully there are a few major reveals that lead to more dangerous events and a happy ending. Will definitely check out more by this author.
What an amazing read ! Skye was unstoppable and fought for herself , her family , and others . Be mindful that this does mention sexual assault so definitely a TW to be noted there , but it was not overly detailed or graphic . You will be on the edge of your seat throughout this novel . Such an important story to be told
I have read and enjoyed Nelle's psychological thrillers so was super excited to be able to sample one of her romance novels. Now, I generally do not read romance, but this book changed my mind. A bit of romance with twists and turns that will keep you guessing right up to the end. Go grab yourself a copy and get comfortable. You won't be able to put this one down.
I had previously read Nelle L'Amour's book The Night Nanny and loved it as thrillers are one of my go-to reads. In Remember Me, I was excited as this book also had a hint of one of my favorite tropes amnesia and new identities but with a twist. The book started with Skye who is an amazing investigative journalist and has been contacted by an actress to help bring down a media mogul for rape and sexual assault. As Skye digs deeper, she finds more stories and she has a few of her own too. The thing though is that this guy is powerful and unless she has actual concrete evidence and proof, her story will be another one swept under the rug. She dresses up one night and gets her proof, but of course, they aren't going to let her just get away unscathed and she ends up presumed dead. Fast forward five years, Skye is now Scarlett living in the WITSEC program and has extensive plastic surgery reconstruction. By coincidence, she ends up as the private tutor for none other than her daughter and her husband Finn. Their daughter of course takes to her just like that and even more she is the spitting image of her previous self and personality. Scarlett is over the moon as is this the second chance she needs and a chance back with her family? The thing though is that her husband is engaged to someone else - Kayla Phillips. It looks like Kayla is tight with the media mogul that Skye was bringing down and is this the woman she wants raising her daughter? Can Scarlett without putting Finn and her daughter Madeline in danger, reveal to him who she is and remember her past? Find out in Nelle L'Amour's newly revised thriller Remember Me as one book, which was previously published in two parts. If you love authors like Kiersten Modglin and Freida McFadden, you will fit right at home with Nelle L'Amour.
Investigative journalist Skye is on a relentless mission to expose Hollywood's dark underbelly. Her target: Sheldon, a powerful industry titan notorious for sexual harassment allegations. Armed with her motto, "dig deep, then dig deeper," Skye is prepared to bring him down—at any cost. But when her investigation spirals out of control, she realizes she may have gone too far.
Finn, her husband, a once-struggling artist, finally lands his big break. Just as success seems within reach, tragedy strikes, unraveling their lives.
The story opens with a breakneck pace, gripping the reader from the very first page. The forced proximity adds a layer of emotional tension, making it a compelling and unforgettable read.
Although the time jump is significant and some questions remain unanswered, it doesn’t detract from the overall impact. Despite the skipped timeline and at times, an almost unbelievable plot, the main character’s determination makes it impossible not to root for her.
This novel is a gripping blend of suspense, romance, and longing—a tale of two souls finding their way back to each other amidst heartbreak and chaos.
Nelle L'Amour is becoming one of my favorite authors. I received this arc and it did not disappoint. While it should be known the Nelle L'Amour also writes Thriller novels under the name Nelle LaMarr, I knew this was going to be more on the romancy side but I was surprisingly pleased with the way I was hooked from the beginning with suspense. Nelle perfectly takes you on a ride of romance, suspense even had my heart strings going with sadness. Readers should also know that there are trigger warnings of sexual assault. With that being said, I loved the way the story unfolded with Skye and Finn. Told in dual POV of Finn & Skye which I found to be ok. Kayla, ugh she annoyed me but there is always one in every book. The pace was perfect and all came together perfect in the end. Such an amazing book!!!!
Nelle is a master at suspense as I have read The Night Nanny before. I highly recommend everyone check her books off. I will read every book that she writes, either suspense or romance. She has talent.
OH MY GRIPPING HELL! I was on the edge of my seat cover to cover & didn't move until I had devoured every last page. This story was so exciting, intense, and powerful that I can't even put it into words without giving anything away, because I don't want to ruin even a minute of it for anyone. The emotions that I went through felt like it was my own life, and I went through them all throughout. My favorite thing in a book are the twists, and these twists in this book came in hot from every direction to keep me guessing all the way through that's for sure. It kept my heart racing long after I finished this journey of Skye, and her husband Finn. I was drawn into this world completely, and it was hard to come back to earth when there were no more pages LOL! I'm seriously going to keep this review short & sweet since it's so much better to just experience all the brilliant goodness for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Who are you? Who, who, who, who, tell me who you are? Teehee! Those that have read Remember Me will understand first couple of lines. When I first signed up for Remember Me I thought I had read it. Then I thought I was crazy. The minute I started reading I knew I had read it. All I can it was just as good or better than the first time I read it. Nelle Lamarr or L'Amour which ever name she uses on it took things from past headlines and created a work of fiction. She grabbed my attention at the beginning and kept it till the end. In my opinion she takes you on a rollercoaster ride. I was kept on the edge of my seat turning the pages. I loved Skye she is full strength, determination and love for her family. In my opinion it's well worth reading. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader's copy.
The very first book I ever read by Nelle L'Amour was All My Lies--which I absolutely loved--especially its killer ending!
After reading All My Lies I had to read Remember Me once I unexpectedly had come across the book online.
I found the beginning of the novel attention-grasping, daring, and exciting. Then it turned into an on-your-toes slow-burning anticipation of what would happen next during a fortunate occurrence bestowing the main character's miraculous second chance at destiny.
The fast-paced edge and thrill of excitement picks back up towards the end when uncertainty, payback, and justice prevail in a satisfyingly kick-ass way.
The author is a very good writer and is able to keep one interested and continuously guessing apart from what the reader may already discern within certain parts of the story here and there.
The more I read this book, the more I knew I had read the story before. This book is pretty much Danielle Steele's book, "Promise Me." I read it in the late 70's, and a TV movie was made based on the book.
I have enjoyed Nelle L'Amour's other books, but I am disappointed that this one is so nearly like the Danielle Steele book.... woman is in a car wreck, gets severely disfigured and has reconstruction surgery, meets husband again and doesn't reveal who she is, he finds her necklace and figures it out....
I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but it seems like there must be some type of way an author can be sure they aren't writing a story that's been written before.
Remember me is an amazing thriller/romance and I for one am so glad I read it. The storyline had me hooked from the beginning and I was rooting for the characters all the way. While investigating a dangerous story, journalist Skye is presumably killed in a car crash. Five years later she is back with a new face, voice and name and is intent on making the bad guys pay. Skye’s husband has moved on and does not k ow she is still alive. When fate brings them together again, Skye looks at this as her second chance to be with her family again. Remember Me is extremely well written and fast paced. I urge you to read it. Five stars!
The story itself was gripping and kept me reading in one sitting. The characters were decent, but then I had a difficult time accepting that this great father would allow this certifiably wretched woman into his beloved daughter's life. I mean, really?
As much as I enjoyed the story, the writing, unfortunately, contained too many cliches and overly melodramatic statements the author evidently believed warranted exclamation points. So! Many! Exclamations!
I had a few other issues, too, but won't get into them. Let's just stick with, I suspended disbelief far too often and overall enjoyed the story. Two opposing things can be true at the same time.
It is a suspenseful romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's like a rollercoaster ride of emotions, full of twists and turns. The story follows Skye, a determined investigative reporter, and Finn, a renowned artist. As their relationship deepens, they must confront the secrets of their past and the dangers that lurk in the present. It is the book to read if you are looking for a thrilling and emotional read.
Ps: I have received an ARC for updated cover and content for this book. #ARC
"Remember Me" by Nelle L’Amour blends romance and suspense in a heartfelt second-chance love story. Skye Collins, a tenacious journalist, finds herself rekindling old feelings with Finn, a troubled rebel from her past. Their chemistry is electric, and L’Amour skillfully navigates themes of love, regret, and ambition. Twists keep the tension high, making this a captivating read.
Fun fact: Nelle L’Amour also writes suspense under the pen name Nelle Lamarr! Highly recommended for readers who love romance with a thrilling edge.
Nelle did it again with another great book!!!! The story of Skye and Finn is so heartwarming, I kept second guessing myself at times thinking it might be too good to be true🤣. No spoilers, just know it's a thriller mixed with love story and is great for people speaking out against s.assault!!! Everytime Nelle puts out a book I read it within a day or two and wish she had more for me to read!!!! For fans of Freida McFadden, John Marrs and Lucinda Berry, Nelle L'Amour is another name to add to your list!!
Thank you to Nelle Lamour for letting me be one of the firsts to read this one. I’ve never read one of your romance novels, only the thrillers. This one was just as great! I had so many emotions while reading this and my stomach was in knots quite a bit! I absolutely love how these characters were developed. Maddie was my absolute favorite! Seeing my name in the acknowledgements was also an amazing thing for me to see! Well done Nelle! I highly recommend this one!
Loved it! Another easy to read, twisty book sprinkled with a little romance. She really knows how to hook the reader and I couldn't put it down... I just HAD to know what happened next - so good! Thank you Nelle for allowing me to read this ARC!
* Nelle L’Amour also writes suspense as Nelle Lamarr. I have read both The Night Nanny and The Family Guest and loved these as well! Be sure to check those out too!
Remember me was full of suspenseful moments, twists and turns I didn’t see coming, and a little bit of romance mixed in. This is the type of book that had me in a chokehold from the very beginning. I couldn’t stop reading!
I absolutely loved the characters & the storyline. This was an intense, page turning, “unputdownable” type of book. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to read more from this author!
She did it again! In the fun reading world of twisty suspense, if Nelle writes it, I’m going to read it! This book draws you in right away and keeps you wanting to know what happens next! It’s a fun read with some fun twists and Nelle has quickly become one of my favorite go-to authors for suspense! I loved her other suspense books, The Night Nanny and Family Guest (written under Nelle Lamarr). Do yourself a favor and add these books to your TBR right now!
Having read all of the author’s books and was totally into her wonderful way of storytelling, I have to admit that I am looking forward to yet another. As an English teacher and a fan of an author who captures a reader with intriguing and complicated plots Ms.L’Amour, I am totally a fan and don’t mind staying up late into the night unable to put you books down. Bravo!
