From USA TODAY and NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Lynn Red comes a steamy, seductive, sensuously heart-felt alpha werebear romance!
Curvy, scrappy, and slightly self-conscious, Lilah Jorgenson is a raccoon-shifting painter with a white streak in her hair and a longing to find the family she never really had.
As a kit scraping by in back alleys, Lilah had to steal to survive. The only predictable part of her life is her weekend job at the Jamesburg Jail. Oh, and her constant, grinding need to find a mate, a family and a home to call her own.
Thickly-muscled, inked-up former soldier Rex Lee spent five years away, but when family duty calls, he and his little cub come home. Love is distant memory. The only thing Rex has on his mind is keeping his family – his daughter and his father – safe... until a fight lands him in the Jamesburg lockup.
When Lilah sees the giant behind bars, the tattoos around his eyes make her yearn, and burn, hotter than she ever has in her twenty-six years of life. And when Rex catches a glimpse of Lilah’s two-toned eyes and sly grin? No matter how much he fights his instincts, sometimes a bear just can’t say no. No matter how much Lilah tells herself it’s all wrong, she knows deep down... she and Rex? It’s exactly right.
Lilah may have sworn off theft when the Jorgenson family took her in, but she’s got one thing left to steal – Rex’s heart.

Lynn doesn't love anything more than being wrapped up in a hammock with her corgi on her stomach and a pile of her favorite books to read. And by "pile of books" she means "a kindle."
She loves all sorts of romance, but especially ones that feature big, strong alphas who will stop at nothing to prove themselves to the women who melt their hearts.

Violet Jorsgensen is a raccoon shifter adopted into a family of hyenas, so she frequently pulls shifts down at the local jail. It's there that she meets Rex Lee, being held for questioning after a disagreement with another bear shifter. Rex is a widower and single father doing his best to raise his little girl and protect his heart from further heartbreak. But when he meets Violet, all bets are off, and he'll do anything to make her his. But trouble is brewing in Jamesburg, since a local professor and his djinn are kidnapping young women and draining their shifter powers. When Violet's sister is taken, she and Rex go after her and, along with Jenga and Atlas, face some hellacious magic.
I'm seeing improvement as the series goes on. This was an enjoyable story overall, although it did feel a bit long to me. Maybe because I was expecting something as short as the previous ones. As a result of the length, I think some things do start to feel repetitive, like the author says them over and over again in different ways. Didn't bother me, but then this could have been shorter... Rex and Violet have a nice relationship with plenty of UST. There's still passion and what not, but a lot of this is them figuring out the permanence of things, getting past Violet's hang ups about being good enough for Rex's family and them getting to know one another. Very sweet and sexy. The whole suspense plot was different, but I was a bit confused about what happened to Graves. It was also here that the humor sort of stuck out as it's a suspenseful moment and there's a lot of humor. The humor in this story is pretty low key (which is good because I don't usually like it in my romance) but I didn't care for it in those moments. Also was hoping for a bit more emotional punch in the resolution, but it was still sweet and romantic. It seems I will be reading on and we'll see where this goes.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!! **Ebook gifted to me for an honest review
The cover is very sexy! But the model is not true to Rex because of one key thing; however I’m not going to tell you what it is. You have to read it to figure it out ;)
I thoroughly enjoyed Lilah and Rex’s story :) Though, I wished I would have seen some of interaction with Violet and Crag because I love series when you see the characters you fall in love with again :) Lilah is so real with her back story and her insecurities making her easy to relate to. Rex is an awesome single dad trying to live. They both have a past to get over, so they can move forward and be happy together. And of course, Rex’s little cub is adorable :) I could picture the story in my mind. I laughed with them and cried. Throw in a zombie and you have everything for a wonderful story and adventure.
You can definitely read this book without having read the rest of the series. I still have to go back and read book 1.
Lynn’s writing style is easy to read and humorous :) I will definitely keep reading this series and more from Lynn. I recommend this story to my bear lovin’ shifter friends. You will definitely enjoy it :)
I chose to read and review this book. I love this genre of books and this was a great read. I like the characters. Lilah and Rex were nice characters. I enjoyed and love them a lot. They are sweet together and how each I felt was vulnerable in their own way. There is suspense action sparks that fly between them are the best ever. It had a lot of sugar spice romance that gets you addicted and wanting more of them
The third book in the Jamesburg shifter series is a riveting and charming romance. Lilah Jorgenson is a raccoon shifter and painter who longs for the family she never had. The only thing bear shifter Rex Lee has on his mind his keeping his daughter and father safe, until he lands in the Jamesburg lockup and meets Lilah and learns that sometimes a bear just can’t say no and even though Lilah’s given up stealing she finds she one thing left to steal…Rex’s heart.
This steady to fast paced plot keeps readers on their toes with suspense, drama, some action and romance. The author describes the events and scenes with vivid details that capture the imagination and spine tingling suspense builds as the characters discover that danger has one again found the residents of Jamesburg and is targeting young college students. The strong compelling characters are easily related to and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.
The attraction between Rex and Lilah catches the couple off guard and brings both of their insecurities forth, but the heat is undeniable and the sex scenes are hot and steamy. The author can’t help but be charmed by Lilah and her shy vulnerability which leads to some humorous dialogue and encounters. Rex captures the heart with his love for his daughter and also his insecurities in how to proceed with Lilah.
The author has created an eccentric town of a variety of fun and charming shifters with this story has some twists to keep the readers guessing. I found this book to be a fun and charming read and while I found some of the ditzy dialogue a little on the confusing side but it fit the characters very well and added some humor and spice to the story.
***** Lynn Red's book: Bear with Me, book 3 of the Jamesburg Series.
I have to say the book kept me going from the first page to the last. If you love shifters and yes zombie shifter too *I just wanted to take him home..* . You are going to love this book, it's definitely not a normal town. They have a little of everything there, the love at first sight romance, adventure, the action and a whole lot more.
Lilah and Rex found that love at first sight that makes you believe that there is a love like that out there for everyone. Rex raising his daughter alone after his wife passed away 4 years earlier and helping out his father protecting their lands and struggling with getting on with what has happened in the past. His daughter is just so adorable you will fall in love with her from the minute you met her. Rex knows the minute he meets Lilah that she is the love of his life with him being a Bear
Lilah being a raccoon and her past always has her think she isn't worthy or good enough of having a happy ever after. She is witty, smart, loving and very caring. She will do anything to help others and especially for family. There is always something happening around them that gives it the adventure the town and the people in it that makes this story so different from any paranormal stories
. Lynn Red is very talented and the way she writes her stories you just get pulled right into them. I would definitely recommend this book and the series to everyone..
This is such a great mix of serious and comical, tragedy and love, and even eclectic and main stream; a wonderful hodgepodge of unusual character types and personalities, including - for me - never before imagined shifters!
Everyone is used to the typical bear, wolf, and other large predator shifter, but few have heard of a hedgehog professor shifter or a raccoon shifter! Let alone a whole town full of the unusual! While being swept up instantly into the life of Lilah and laughing at her quirky personality, though at times there was sad points the endeared her to the reader, I found myself cheering her on in her pursuits of the antagonist. Rex is a solid rock with a few cracks, not a perfect gentleman but still a prince in shining armor that helps to provide Lilah with her happily ever ... well not after but it's a great start to it! I mean, even Lilah said it was the best when she said that all that mattered was Family. I for one agree, and can't wait to read more of this series and delve further into the Jamesburg families! I highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for more than your typical romance story, for something that will suck you in like a vortex and carry you off to your own little Oz known as Jamesburg! I received this as an ARC and was in no way paid for my review.
This is a Jamesburg Shifters series book by author Lynn Red and it is the 3rd book of the series.
Rex Lee is struggling to take care of his daughter, father and deal with his nightmares from his time in the service. When he sees Lilah at the jail and she brings him burgers his bear decides she is for them. Lilah had a troubled childhood and was getting into trouble when she was a teenager. When she goes to her shift at the jail she is attracted to this muscular bear Rex and feeling stir in her like never before but she does not feel she is good enough for him and his daughter.
This was a great read and once I started it I just had to finish it. The story line between Rex and Lilah just tugs at your heart strings. The little girl sounds so precious and she is dealing with her mommie being gone and the interaction between Rex, her and Lilah is just so touching and you can just feel the love.
This book is a great addition the the Jamesburg shifters series and I think you will enjoy the book. Because of some sexual content it is for 17+ mature paranormal shifter romance readers.
‘Bear With Me’ by Lynn Red is a stand-alone novel set among the Jamesburg Shifters. I was gifted with a copy of this book in return for an honest review. As a reader, one of the things I search for in a book is a connection with the main character(s). It’s not as easy to find as one might think. Ms. Red has gone above and beyond my expectations with the MCs in ‘Bear With Me’. There is so much depth and detail and emotion invested in the characters’ development, them seem ‘real’ to the point it becomes hard to remember that they’re not. And then there is the plot-line. As if overcoming their pasts wasn’t difficult enough for Lilah and Rex, (the MCs in this story), there is an underlying evil that must be dealt with. How can they possibly vanquish it? With a little help from a couple of the town’s more colorful residents, of course! All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I have to say that Ms. Red has moved up quite a few notches on my favorite author list. I look forward to more stories based in the town of Jamesburg, and I hope that Atlas will get his happily-ever-after at some point in the near future. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre!
Lynn Red gifted me this book for an honest review.
OMG, can a person get flushed from the passion in a book and laugh so hard that your belly aches at the same time?
I will never tire of Jamesburg's mixture of were's, this time a bear and a raccoon!!! Not to mention the mixture of violence, passion and humor that Lynn integrates in the story. To call an orgasm Monsoon Season! LOL
I love how Lynn can make the personality of Lahla match that of a raccoon's habits, the poor eyesight, her ability and ease to break into a restaurant much the same way a raccoon would break into a house to steal food if given the opportunity, is great.
Then there is the Bear Zombie that smells like Lavender and is sweet as can be! I never thought I would feel the way I do about a zombie.....I love him and I want a girl for Atlas...
You did it again Lynn, Jamesburg continues to be a winner in my book!
I am a serious fan of The Jamesburg Shifters! Each book in this series is a paranormal adventure.
It's about time Lilah Jorgenson, a raccoon-shifter, and one of my favorite sideline characters from previous books, got her own story! She's spunky, sassy, and not afraid to let her "stripes" show! Mating her up with a hunky bear and his daughter is the perfect match to let her tender side out.
Rex has known heartache in the past and he needs a bright sassy lady to help him laugh and love again.
Lynn Red's zany shifters are a mixed up bunch; they live and laugh and love together. Get into scrapes, fight against evil and are always given a happy ending. I love the story telling, glimpses of past characters, and hints of those to come. Each book can be read as a stand alone story and this series just keep getting better and better!
A copy of Bear With Me was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is an amazing book about falling in love and being willing to open up to the person you are meant to be with. In this book we meet Rex, his cub Leena and Lilah. Lilah has always felt like an outsider even to the people who have adopted her and made her a part of their family. Rex has lost who he thought was his fated mate and is not looking for love of any shorts again. When Lilah and Rex meet sparks fly within them both but neither of them feel ready to deal with these feelings. When Lilah meets Rex's cub Leena she knows there is a spark that draws her closer to this cub as well. Lilah wants to be a part of this family but she is afraid if she tries to be a part she will be left either now or down the road. Rex knows the first time he touches Lilah that he has to be near her again. The problem is the more he is the more he wants to be. Rex is learning to balance love of a woman and the love of his daughter. This book is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I REALLY enjoyed this Jamesburg installment. Well, I love them all but I found myself laughing out loud all alone in my house which is probably good cause my family looks at me funny when I laugh in a soundless room and you can't tell them the part that is really funny because you have to know the story from the beginning so I will tell you all the same. READ IT, THIS IS LOL FUNNY! Okay I love Lilah and Rex, they are a great pair and little Leena is cute as a button.
Here is a little teaser, one of my faves " I'd climb naked through so many windows for you..... I'd do anything naked for you, and I don't even know why. " HA HA you'll have to read the story to figure out why I almost spit my icee out all over my kindle.
I love all of Lynn's books but the Jamesburg series is just sooooo fun!
The best of the Jamesburg Shifters series as of yet. I love this series of books with each book being a self contained story and yet learning more about the town people in each book. This book is about a Bear and Raccoon shifters who fall in love but not without issues, as well as other members of their family and friends in trouble. A professor with his own agenda, who is being controlled by a jinn that’s stuck in a book and much more. A very well rounded story line with all kinds of facets to make it very entertaining to read. Well written with great characters interplay. And I just love the reanimated (zombie) old Alpha and his antics that just make him so lovable. Entertaining, exciting and all around enjoyable to read. I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of an honest review and was not compensated.
Wow! Talk about a interesting array if characters; wolves, hedgehogs, bears and many more oh yeh raccoons and Hyenas. Rex is a sexy as hell bear shifter, he's a awesome dad and totally protective of his dad and home, then all hell breaks loose. Lilah is easy to like with her insecurities and caring and loving self and crazy sister...lol..I enjoyed both these characters and of course the Alpha. I didn't read book 1 yet but I am going to... these characters are all amazing and the story is intriguing, mysterious and sexy as hell. Love a good HEA and can't wait to read more by this author. She sure can write shifter stories and sexy as hell characters ...4 stars review by Nanee at upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com
Rex I loved him he was a fun bear, "as good as those burgers are, there's something else I have in mind." He gave me a quick, almost impossible to see smile, and a wink." He's not afraid to say how he feels even though the boy almost blurts out anything that comes to his mind, "I....yeah, sure, what the hell. Saves me having to hunt you down and claim you for my own." I also found that he gives great advice, "good," he said, between hungry, sucking kissing on her neck. "Sometimes we have to let the beasts out to play, or they get all pent up and angry." I really liked this one I'm finding out not only are wolves and cats my favorite shifters because they're cuddly but bears can be just as cuddly.
I loved the story in this book. A female raccoon shifter who desperately needs a family, even though she does not realize it. A male bear shifter who desperately needs love and a mother for his cub. And an insane person who is on a murderous roll. But what is causing his madness? That is my interpretation, the author does not say he is mad. But really, WTH else could he be? He certainly acts insane to me! And we see the bear zombie return in this book. I love him! But not as much as I loved the bear cub. Can I have her? Yep, this was a fun book to read.
I LOVED THIS STORY .EVERYTHING LYNN RED WRITES IS GREAT.REX (A BEAR SHIFTER)ex soldier and father of a 6 year old girl which he has raised alone for 4 years and not interested in getting involved AND LILAH (A RACCOON SHIFTER) who works at the jail and is an artist,AND MATES. WHILE FINDING THEIR WAY TO EACH OTHER WITH A CRIME SPREE TO SOLVE BECAUSE NO MATTER WHAT THE COPS DO NOT THINK THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG.But girls are missing. There are witch doctor with a zombie, unicorn, etc.To solve the mystery , and get the missing girls back it will take them all.
I was so excited about this one. I love Bear Shifters. Love them. I also love unusual shifters. The heroine is a raccoon shifter. Awesome.
Sadly, there was so much telling and repeating in this one I could make it through. I liked the characters but the narrative was so much in the heads of the characters that I could enjoy them. There was also so much unneeded angst and several subplots.
This is again just as good as the rest. I am not disappointed with this book. Can never say it enough, you have got to read this whole series. I also love how she also starts out the books touching base with the couple from the very first book. I look forward to there being more stories from this little town and you can be rest assured that I will be there read every single one of them.
I cannot describe how much I loved all the stories in this series. I laughed so much at times that I snorted, cried and woke my husband up from a dead sleep. I would love to visit the town where the story takes place. I have enjoyed all the stories in this series. I felt as if I was "in" the story. It read well. I liked the characters. I will never be able to think of yoga pants in the same way. :)
I really like how all the characters take part in the first few chapters, and then it goes straight on into Lilah and Rex's storyline. I love the way Lynn, incorporates her characters without doing the whole rundown of how everything began. This is definitely a series that should be bought and read and re-read, I'm sure you will love the sassiness as much as I do.
In this book we meet several new Jamesburg citizens. Rex is having problems with another group of bear shifters and meets Lilah, who works at the jail. We meet the witch doctor again and a newcomer who teaches at the college. Several girls go missing and Ms Red leads us on a merry chase to find the kidnapper and the girls.
Personally, I think this is the best one of the series. I loved the raccoon! Lilah is perfectly, wonderfully crazy, the kind of crazy I wouldn't mind having as a friend. I can't say that about many heroines. Rex is just plain old sweet, add in his daughter and I loved the whole package.
I would highly recommend any of Lynn's books, but this one is definitely going on my reread shelf!
Another 5 stars , of coarse. loved it.When lilah, the non confident raccoon shifter, grew up without the feeling of love and family ,and rex the widowed, ex soldier ,sexy bear shifter ,with a cub get together , magic and adventure happen.
I can always count on Red to give me a fun read with heart pumping sex, , an interesting story with wild and crazy characters And a great HEA. I am never disappointed. If you like these things, too then get started now. Happily Recommended.
This was my favorite in the series. Loved Rex and Lilah's characters. Rex is a bear shifter and Lilah is a raccoon shifter. Storyline was well written, sweet with humor, some mystery and steamy chemistry. Could not put down. I would definitely recommend.
Really enjoyed reading this book. There was a great mix of romance, comedy and suspense. Loved the interaction between Rex and Lilah and everyone loves a happy ending :)
