Sometimes rumors of a death are highly exaggerated…
And then you find a body.
Spring has sprung, and the first nice weather of the year send campers and hikers out into the woods in droves. One unlucky hiker reported that they saw a body, but that they couldn’t remember the exact location.

When amateur sleuth and dog trainer, Eve, and her bold, brave cadaver dog Atlas go out to recover it, there’s no body, but it’s clear something was afoot. After receiving a report of suspicious activity on the small lake at night, Atlas and Eve stretch their abilities to conduct a water search.

Finding the body is only the tip of the iceberg, because no one has reported the woman who was killed as missing. In fact, by all accounts, she still seems to be alive – her social media account is active, someone has been bringing her packages in, and Eve discovers that the victim even called a few days after her death to cancel a dentist’s appointment.

Can Eve and friends get to the bottom of a very murky mystery and discover who is playing the victim, in an entirely different way? Find out in this exciting Canine Cozy Mystery!

Another Winner!

This latest entry in the series had a little bit of everything, mystery, intrigue, strange happenings and even stranger people. Eve and her cadaver dog Atlas are called out to search for a deceased person. But when Atlas picks up the scene there is no body there. Later on the police receive a clue about a body being dumped in the lake. Atlas performs his first search for a body under water all without training in that area of search and rescue. A very smart dog indeed! But the strangest part is that the person who is identified as the deceased appears to be very much still alive!

Who is impersonating the dead woman and why? Eve along with her bestie Tiana are determined to find out. Suspense, intrigue and some very scary moments follow. Another great read which I devoured in one sitting. I recommend this series, you won't be disappointed! 🎉👏👏🌟🌟📖

How Can A Dead Person Vlog?

"Nose Dives" is Book 11 of Patti Benning's Search and Rescue Cozy Mystery series. This episode has Eve and her Search and Rescue German Shepherd Dog, Atlas, finding the body of a dead vlogger (video blogger) in a Michigan lake. It was the first time Atlas and Eve did a water find for a dead body, and Atlas became an instant hero. But how can a person who had been dead for at least 10 days cancel her dental appointment less than a week ago, or vlog an unvlogged video the day before the body was found? Eve, Tiana, and Sheriff Larsen will need to learn the truth before any other bodies are unsurfaced.

Eve’s dog Atlas got his first experience with tracking in water and the pup seemed a natural at it. But his tenacious owner wouldn't let the case go and wanted to bring some closure to people who cared about the victim.

I'd started suspecting someone and my guess was correct. The showdown was pretty tense for a bit, but help came from an unlikely source and all was over fairly fast. I'm eager to see what happens in the next book.

Nose Dives

A woman's body was found and then disappeared. Later Eve and Atlas are tasked with finding a body in the lake and were successful. It was a local celebrity that Tiana admired so Eve decides to try to find the killer and whoever impersonated her for two weeks. Sweet success.
