Welcome to Spencer, Oregon, where nothing is as it seems.
When Evangeline inherits Moonstone Manor after her beloved aunt's mysterious death, it's a fresh start--a place to open her salon, raise her magical twins, and finally put down roots. Being a witch hasn't protected her from loss, but maybe it can help her build a new life in this peculiar town.
The longer she stays, the more Spencer's cheerful facade cracks. Magic seeps from every corner, from her husband's new bookstore to the diner where the smiles are as excessive as the portions. Yet something darker lurks beneath the town's enchanted surface.
To face this growing threat, Evangeline must do what she's always avoided--what the magical leaders forbid--and start a coven. As six diverse women gather at Moonstone Salon, they'll discover if their combined powers are enough to battle both evil and split ends.
This is an impressive debut book filled with magic and magical lore. It's focused on a single family in which every member, including the kids and the pets, is powerful. As expected, the story sets up a battle between good and evil in this small town on the Oregon coast. I was afraid this book would have one of those non-endings since it's the first in a new series but that wasn't the case so now I must wait for the next one. I hope it won't be too long.
