Although I have been writing for as long as I can remember it was only in 2012 that my first book was published. My poetry stresses the little things; the things everyone can relate to and enjoy. There are now 5 collections published. The last, Scenes, includes some flash fiction as well as poems. You may also see works in progress and some short works that are available for free by stopping by my website.

I LOVED this collection of poems and from the first one I knew this book was a keeper. A celebration of nature, the seasons and of life, these poems are beautifully written, mostly in free verse, in language that is easy to understand.

The language is also beautifully imagistic. In winter ''Black branches reach, as if to pull a few/ More warm rays through the icy air''. A snow storm is - ''A beautiful dance in white on white''. An overcast sky - ''Holding its own beauty/ Like a shawl over an evening gown''. The smell of rain- ''That sulphurous smell cascading from dark clouds/Suddenly lit bright with jagged lightning shards''.

These poems are little gems that made me feel happy and hopeful. My favourite are - 'Almost Spring', 'Snowfall', 'Magic Winter Day', 'Infinity', 'Overcast', 'Smell of a Thunder Storm', 'Life, the Universe' and 'When I Think'. I recommend this book.

I always enjoy reading books of poetry by fellow poets and I have to say I definitely enjoyed this one. I would fist like to thank the author Greg Schroeder for recommending and allowing me to read his book. The poetry is very insightful with feeling mixed in with very vivid descriptions. The first section of Spring poems was very well written and I felt so at ease and found myself missing the Spring, even feeling that I myself didn't enjoy my own as much as it is described within the poems. The next section of Winter poems was just as enjoyable and it made realistic winters seem harsh as the ones told within these poems were beautiful and made cold an afterthought. These poems really put you in a good mind state and feeling as they are all told in such a way that you can't help but take in each line and at times put yourself within the poem and feel as though you are a part of what is being described.

I sometimes have a problem of poems being so similar that they sometimes read as one big giant one but these were so well written that it could have been a big giant poem and it still would have worked and quite nicely at that. I also enjoyed that the author told of personal experiences at the end which the poems were inspired by. There were also some Haikus which were just as good as their counterpart poems. These 5-7-5 poems were quick but as quick as they were they were also sharp in detail and on point, beautifully written.

I really enjoyed reading this book and my only complaint it that even though there is a good amount of poems I wish there was more because you really get so caught up in them. This is one of those poetry books that even if you don't like poetry you should definitely read this book because I guarantee you will enjoy and appreciate all that's written within the pages.
