I’m loving these books…. Great rollercoaster of a ride zombie book!

Exciting
I rushed through this second book in this series, it's so thrilling. I'm going on the next one, I have no choice. This is a zombie series that has a different twist. The action never stops.
Highly recommend to zombie lovers.

After the first book I was ready for more but by the end of this one, I'd become bored and totally unengaged. Whilst there was a good range of characters, the situations began to feel a bit samey and I didn't find myself worried for any of the main cast. There wasn't enough suspense or tension and nowhere near enough character development for me so I'm dipping out of the series at this point.

You know that thing with zombie stories where too many characters survive even though they should have died a 1000 times and it gets so farfetched you just lose all sense of stake? Yeah, there's none of that here, Clausen doesn't pull punches and that makes for an anxiogenic, fast-paced read. On top of that there's a promising subplot to the zombie narrative so it makes it extra interesting. Seriously, I read this installment pretty much in one go and immediately started the 3rd one I just HAD to keep going.

The author draws on experiences from the Covid pandemic, too . . . if you ever thought people wouldn't be as selfish in real life as they are in zombie movies (e.g. hiding bites), Covid taught us otherwise . . .

8,5/10 Cadàver 2 és una d’aquelles seqüeles que no només continuen la història, sinó que la fan créixer en intensitat, ambició i, sobretot, en cruesa descarada. Nick Clauser torna a demostrar la seva habilitat per construir trames àgils i directes, on el gore no és un simple recurs fàcil, sinó una eina narrativa que subratlla el perill i la brutalitat del món que retrata.
El ritme és trepidant des del primer capítol, que sovint et submergeix en escenes d’una violència visceral i gràfica. Clauser combina amb habilitat l’acció més física amb una tensió psicològica que et manté en un estat d’alerta constant. Els personatges —especialment el protagonista— es debaten en un terreny moral incòmode i gairebé sempre al límit, on les decisions tenen conseqüences sagnants i les imatges dels cossos ultratjats queden gravades tant en ells com en el lector.

Me gustó.
Pero me está estresando mucho las malas decisiones. O sea, entiendo el punto de no saber que hacer realmente en esa situación y que se quedan pegados pero hay mucha estupidez y cero sentido común de por medio.
Me sentí muy mal cuándo askel rompió en llanto y cuándo la niña fue atacada. Espero de verdad que al menos él sobreviva a todo esto porque es el único que queda del primer libro. Sería una putada si no lo logra.
Y estoy 100% que la Ingrid no se ahogó es obvio que Ragnar la ahorcó, meaning Kris sal de ahí porque es un asesino (a menos que solo queria quitar del medio al eslabón débil pero lo dudo)
Punto que me gusta, que los zombies no atacan a los animales. Gracias a Dios.

Another great installment in the Cadaver series. These books are so readable with short chapters and a flowing writing style. Some chapters leave off mid sentence and two chapters later pick up exactly in the middle of that sentence. It’s fun, jumping from character to character and the author does a great job with continuity so you never feel like you’re lost. One thing that I particularly like about these books is that anything can happen. Expect the unexpected! There are no happy endings here. And that’s exactly what the apocalypse should be like!

Ahhh cliff hanger!!
I can't handle not knowing what happens next!! Nick you are the KING of cliff hangers, but you need to get to work on book three!! Poor Rosa might be infected and Aksel is just whipped and exhausted, I need to know what is going to happen to these characters!! Such a great Zombie thriller!!!

The Drama Begins
We are seeing a lot more action as the infection spreads. Everyone is trying go find a safe place. Kristoferr went along with a nice couple they found along the way but Something sn't right. I have ideas in my mind but ill have to read part 3 to find out what. I'm into this series now.

Ahhhh!
The second is just as good as the first, maybe better. So many characters, and so much happening. This is one of the better zombie books that I have read in awhile.

Still reeling and disoriented after witnessing his younger brother Jakob plummet to his death, Askel finds himself surrounded by police and paramedics. Herding into a holding pen with other survivors, it's a waiting game as several die and begin turning before his very eyes. Also trapped is a friend from years ago, Linus Langeland, who has the unfortunate luck of having toe surgery that day and finding himself trapped as well. Determined to escape the frigid elements and the ticking bomb of the undead, they hatch a plan that lead to a stolen ambulance and tearing down the barricades soldiers put in place. Escaping together, they return to Linus's mother's house where he meets his girlfriend Belinda and her daughter, Rosa. Fearful and doubting their survival, it wouldn't be until curiosity from Rosa got the better of her that the tranquility would become shattered. Finding the stolen ambulance parked in her garage, she witnesses the undead for the first time as a woman crawls from the back of an ambulance. Alerting her family inside, it'll lead to the death of her grandmother Helen, Linus and the zombie before the remaining survivors could escape in the ambulance. Detained by the police, they are now preparing to be sent to a holding facility, something Axe is extremely concerned about

Across town in Bodum, Kristoffer finds himself experiencing the undead world before he joins up with extreme apocalyptic prepper Ragnar and together begin picking their way to his secluded hideout in the woods. Stumbling across the valley they encounter a couple; Hans and Ingrid, trapped in a broken down car as a deceased rried desperately to get to them. Killing the old woman, they join together and the four make their way to this cave that was prepped specifically for the end times. Haunted by night terrors, Kris awakes and us horrified to see Ingrid deceased above the cave, her throat horribly bruised and Ragnar standing beside the body. Knowing they need to tell Hans about his wife's passing, the doubt begins to fester in Kris surrounding the partner he rally knows nothing about.
It’s all about leading people to believe it’s under control, even when it’s clearly not. Several infected people walked off site, himself included. They simply couldn’t contain it, despite their best efforts. How could they? When all it took was a tiny scratch …
In another city, a teenage girl, Ella, is spending the night at her cousin's house while her mother was daling in the front lines of the infection. When Gunner, her Uncle snuck through the bathroom window in the middle of the night, it immediately felt suspicious, but would soon become more so when she spies a tiny cut on his arm that he quickly tries to disguise as a burn mark. Forcing her to stay silent about seeing him, she can't ignore his ghostly complexion or the scent of rot emitinating off his skin. Fearing he's one of the infected, she vows to keep a right eye on him, and would. Seeing his passed out on the couch, she sees the fever and the wound firsthand and the anger he never displayed before. Determined to get Ella to drive him somewhere to off himself, the two got into an altercation leaving him bleeding out after smashing through a glass wall. When her Aunt Greta sees her deceased husband, she was oblivious to the fact he was waking up, only Ella noticing right away the diaster about to happen. Killing his wife's Ella is forced to decide between saving herself or going back for her cousin. In the end, she chooses to save the last family she had left and quickly runs to the upstairs room, and now they are cornered. Knowing they need to jump from the window, it's only a matter of time before the infections spread farther.

I raced through book 1 and the ending left you on a real cliffhanger, so I was excited to be diving back into this new series!
One thing to be said about Nick is that he can create some very vivid imagery when he writes. This includes the gruesome bits! So, if you are a horror fan who loves a bit of gore, then Nick’s work is for you.
I like how I was thrown right back into the story, this enabled me to pick right back up from where I left off. This instalment was action packed and fast paced, you never know which direction Nick is going to turn in next. Therefore, this being said, I do suggest you try not to get attached to anyone, as much as you may like them, because Nick can be very lethal with his characters.
This was a rollercoaster of a read that I devoured in one sitting, Nick’s writing just flows and you find yourself immersed in his work. And as always, Nick leaves us with a cliff hanger, you know it’s coming, but it gets you every time and now I need to get stuck in to book 3!

I’m doing my best to recall how this book goes so I can describe it in a few quick but accurate words, but I can’t. I geuss that sums it up. Not that different from the first.
Tropey action movie that describes too much while also saying not enough. If you’re wondering if Nick Clausen stops contradicting himself in this one, he doesn’t. I can’t tell if it’s because the different narrators are unreliable or he just forgets halfway through.
It does differ in a few ways though. Clausen finally decided to write a female character that’s not a quivering coward and more then a prop for a male character, so that’s something.
Nick switches out the weird gay comment for weird autistic ones. The 11 girl is “emotionless” and “off” when she doesn’t give out a bright cheery smile to the bloody stranger sobbing in her kitchen during a zombie outbreak. Right. Ok. I understand Nick needed a way to get that character trait across but he fumbled the bag like a drunken cashier.
It’s the same conclusion as the last one. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone but I don’t stay awake at night thinking about how much it sucks

Continúo en el apocalipsis de Torik (Noruega), de la mano de Nick Clauser.
Después de darle 2 estrellas al libro 1, por la pésima traducción, he decidido darle una segunda oportunidad y ver qué tal estaba el libro 2, por que siendo sinceros le veía potencial a la historia y el género zombie es de mis favoritos.....y puedo decir, que ha sido todo un acierto. Cadaver 2 es BRUTAL y se lleva mis 5 estrellas!
Lo que + me ha gustado:
-Buena traducción! Todo lo que estaba mal en el libro 1 se ha arreglado en el libro 2. A pesar de algunos pequeños fallos, la redacción no te saca de la lectura.
-La intensidad y el ritmo de la historia. Todo se recrudece, todo empeora y te atrapa irremediablemente. El libro se lee realmente de una sentada. Sin darte prácticamente cuenta.
- Multitud de tramas y personajes, bien desarrollados. Las historias de cada uno de ellos son muy interesantes.
Lo que - me ha gustado:
- Corto! es casi como un episodio corto de una serie.

Done in 1 sitting
Really good follow up to 1st book. Lots of new characters, I'm already sad that the whole series isn't out yet because I know that I'm going to want to know what comes after each one!!! Read this book in one day...not too long and I couldn't put it down. I love that even though it's taking place in another country, it's not a struggle to follow like some are. I also am a freak about proofreading and as I don't come across any that stop my train of thought it makes the story flow so much better and makes this writer a pleasure to read since once I start finding errors or story flaws, I start focusing on that instead of the story. So good job Mr. Clausen!!!

Not huge on reviews but I will leave one. I probably should’ve left this on the first one or possibly the entire collection. AnyWho, with media drowning in zombies this one definitely stands out to me. I won’t give any spoilers, but I will say while there are many of the same zombie tropes there are things that will keep you guessing and keep you in suspense. I’m not a big fan of the constant changing point of view because it’s usually hard for me to keep up. But I don’t mind as much with this book. I stopped reading it for a few months so it took me a while to get back in the swing of things, but it’s easy to follow in long read through. The characters are very diverse and I do enjoy seeing how things are going in their worlds. If you enjoy zombie books I say give it a try

Who will survive as the Zombies increase?
Cadaver 2 is an excellent addition to this series, once again Nick Clausen has proven his mastery of this genre. While it is a bit short of a novel- page number wise, it is almost double the length of a novella- and with all that being said, this is one of the most entertaining zombie-apocalypse stories I’ve read or listened to. Speaking of listening, Spencer Dillehay does an outstanding job narrating the story and bringing the characters to life. If you are looking for a new zombie series, grab copies of Cadaver 1 & 2, and while you are at it, subscribe to Nick’s newsletter so you can get a copy of Draug- you won’t be sorry.

Audiobook: Book 2 was as exciting as the first book in the "A Zombie Apocalypse" series. This story kept me as riveted to the audiobook as the first book. Authorities hoped to contain the infection in the hospital not realizing that it might already be too late. The characters faced increasing odds as more and more people were changed into zombies, and often the attacks kept me on the edge of my seat. Spencer Dillehay's narration was great as his performance gave voices to the characters and added to the ambiance of the tale. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

A great second (third-ish) book in the series. One thing that I've noticed about a lot of the zombie books out there is that after a while the zombies become a bit weak, not really a risk. Which kind of goes against the whole point of them. But Nick Clausen has written these ones very well and keeps them as a threat to the characters. The book follows the slow outbreak of the virus throughout multiple locations concurrently, with a few other snippets in between of other stories. It’s still hard to pin down who the main characters are because he kills people off left, right and centre. Great stuff! I’m looking forward to book 3.

ZoMbIeS! Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiinnnnnnns!
This book does what it says on the tin. It's a zombie book written by a great author. Every once in a while you'll get a petty little Norwegian side-swipe at American culture (I feel sorry for him, really) that sort of takes you out of the action and reveals a little too much of the author for my taste.
Still, these are genuinely good books with a genuinely interesting premise.
Clausen delivers. Good characters. Lots of death and gore. Dead darlings all over the place. Hey, it's a zombie book - what more can I say? I will keep coming back to this well until I'm an old man. I just LOVE the genre.

Cadaver 2:A Zombie Apocalypse Thriller
Fast paced, action packed, all the characters are everyday people all their stories normal and believable. Intriguing and some worrying!
The chapters aren’t very long which to me is a positive thing as I find the book easier to read and more enjoyable oh and ‘just one more chapter!’ Gets me through the book a lot quicker!
For a genre which has been done so many times now Clausen has managed to pull off another original!
Don’t know about you but I’m going straight onto the third!!!!

Ok, things are really starting to pick up in this second installment of the Danish zombie epic.
Clausen kills off characters so quickly that it seems as if he has to constantly introduce new survivors to keep the story going, but, as the plague has quickly breached Bodo and Torvik, the rapid introduction of new players makes narrative sense.
Aksel seems to remain our primary link to book 1, though Ella and Kris's plots help to flesh out this volume overall. At this point (with 5 books remaining in the Cadaver storyline) it's anyone's guess who will ultimately survive.

Another HIT by Nick Clausen
I've read SO MANY zombie novels it's embarrassing! I've read about slow zombies, fast zombies, smart zombies, dumb zombies. For many of these horror masterpieces the plot is basically the same. Different characters & locations, causes & cures but basically the same. THAT is why Nick Clausen's stand out; he's managed to put a different twist on the whole zombie scenario making them PAGE TURNERS & so much fun! Thanks Nick!
