What do I do now that I am caught up on this AMAZING series?! *sobs*
While this volume is fairly "chill" as the rest of the series is, this volume did feel a little more intense compared to previous volumes. Not only physically because of the campaign, but Corinna shares VERY secretive information with Sei that is totally life-changing. Not only that, but we really see how dire things are in this land and just how instrumental Sei's "blessings" can be. My heart definitely felt a heaviness for the Governor and how much he (and his people) are struggling. Getting the "inside scoop" in one of the chapters really made things more "real" than Sei being back at the capital and simply hearing there is a herb shortage.
I will not say much on this (because it's a critical plot point), but I loved the backstory that was shared! It was interesting hearing more about it as well as seeing the effect it had on Sei. Not only that but seeing Corinna get just as excited about herbs as Sei was fun and funny to see!
And speaking of funny, Leo is hilarious! He had this one moment of asking a question and then a realization that had me laughing! LOL!
I think the action scenes were great! I know the artist was worried about that, but I thought they were very well done!
To say I am bummed that I have caught up on this series is an understatement because this series has definitely become a new favorite for me! I would HIGHLY recommend this series if you're a fan of Snow White with the Red Hair as well as a chill series that is easygoing but engaging with the friendships made!

Sei is still noodling around in the Klausner domain while helping Albert with the kingdom’s campaign against encroaching monsters. Turns out the domain has some ulterior motives, but nothing too interesting, don’t worry. It’s all for the sake of tapping into Sei’s power, where it turns out the secret ingredient was love the whole time.
I mean, it says something about where the urgency of this story sits that it devotes an entire chapter to the creation of pasta noodles. I guess it’s better than the usual variation on ‘we’ve cracked the code of chocolate’, although Sei should really get cracking on tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese.
This is one gorgeous manga that has some serious issues conveying urgency. The artist’s strengths lie not in action, which they admit to, and this means any of said action blurs by in a couple of still panels.
And that’s when Sei gets to go along for the ride, which isn’t always. That leaves it up to… lots of talking, basically. Even then, Sei is running her own internal dialogue and she’s pleasant enough, but I wouldn’t go quite so far as to call it compelling.
As tends to happen with isekai, there’s no threat here. Sei’s in about as much danger as the reader and, duh, that’s most literature, but some thin hint that things might be bad would be a nice touch. Compare this to The Savior’s Book Cafe in Another World and they’re a light year apart.
Even the politicking of the domain as they desperately try and use Sei to prop up their dwindling supply of herbs that serve as their chief export is pretty much the most jovial, ‘aw shucks’ plotting I’ve seen whilst trying to exploit somebody.
The romance angle fares better, just because it provides tons of opportunity for super-deformed and squishy Sei to be flustered. The truth behind using her power is so syrupy you’d think it was tapped from a tree in Quebec, surprisingly so for how arch the first volume was.
This really shifted from something with a little acid to it to just, well, every other isekai. I like Sei well enough, I did appreciate her snipe about overwork, but she isn’t given anything interesting to do. I don’t want to give her too much stick for living her best life, but lots of people are and I don’t necessarily want to hear about them either.
So it goes. If you’re invested in the story, it has not appreciably changed. You’ll have to determine for yourself whether that’s a bug rather than a feature at this point. The return of some familiar faces at the end is a nice touch, but whether it’s enough is questionable.

Whelp, the secret is out.... again. Even the mercenaries now know Sei is the Saint, which conveniently put an end to their plans to try and get her to join them. Between Sei wanting to study and basically helping the knights on the side and the commander's interest in her, it would have been surprising if she had agreed to the request. She's also found the key to her Saint art as well, though it seems Sei is looking at it rather specifically with the commander attached to her thoughts rather than identifying the most likely emotion and why that triggers her art. Perhaps she'll figure that out along the way. It will be curious to see what may happen with both Sei and Aira out on the field at the same time. Just want is the great magi up to this time?

Seven Seas, stop cutting your books so short. Seriously, there's a whole centimeter that is cut off the edges of the books which means the speech bubbles close to the edge are also cut in half.

kiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......finally the moment that i have been waiting for... after all that teasing she finally figured it out..... lets hope the author doesn't tease us so much and turn it into a slow burn.........

Ce tome est génial, on y voit Sei toujours plus passionnée et l'enquête sur la magie sacrée avance petit à petit, les missions continuent et les petits rebondissements qui vont avec aussi. J'aime beaucoup ce manga surtout pour son ambiance cosy et son univers assez doux et dans ce tome on les retrouve vraiment !

another great volume...sei finally recognizes her feelings for albert, which gives us a glorious scene of her discovering her saint powers WAHHH!! I'm very invested in the slimes...hopefully we get to see some aira/sei team-ups soon ^_^

This was a short volume, and I wish it could have been just a bit longer to actually build off of some of the things it started. This series really does not allow itself to build up any momentum, but some of the things it laid out in this volume I look forward to seeing more of.

This series is so good!!!! Alas, I’m at the end of the manga volumes that have currently been released… so onto the side series “the other Saint”! Which is about Aira. After that, onto the light novel versions! I’m keen :)

Sei's studying of alchemy is aided by the gift of a previous saint's journal (illegal) and more of the plot for Klausner is revealed. Sei also manages to trigger the Saint's art at her whim and the push for the swamp nearby is started.

I love it when a manga starts with a cooking class. The diary was a nice touch and as to why there isn't many things written about the saints power.

Me voilà enfin à jour sur la série, mais sans doute pas pour longtemps, l’avantage, c’est que je n’aurais qu’à lire un tome de temps en temps et que ça fera plus de variétés dans mes chroniques de la semaine ! Dans un sens, j’en suis presque devenue accro, donc l’attente de la suite sera compliquée… mais bon, avec tout ce que j’ai à lire et ma notion du temps aléatoire, ça devrait passer crème jusqu’au prochain tome !
Je trouve la première page en couleur assez ironique, puisque les personnages présents dessus commencent à devenir secondaires, et pourtant, les voilà pour dire que Sei leur manque déjà… Après, je ne m’en plains pas plus, car justement, j’aimerais bien qu’ils soient un peu plus présents en dehors des moments où Sei est présente ou qu’elle a besoin d’aide. Pour les mercenaires du royaume, il est normal qu’ils soient bien mis en avant actuellement, même pour des scènes de routines. Puisque Sei ne restera pas pour toujours à leur côté, même si je l’a vois bien y retourner de temps en temps pour étudier d’avantage en tant qu’apothicaire, fan de plante et de cuisine. Au pire des cas, pour moi, elle échangerait par lettre avec l’apothicaire sur place. Pour les mercenaires, il s’agit donc de personnages de passages, même si rien ne dit qu’ils resteront aussi au royaume si tout est résolu. Leur retour devrait permettre au capitaine de souffler un peu, ses sentiments envers Sei sont évidents et ses réactions oscillent entre mignonnes et trop invasives. Il ne souhaite pas faire de mal, mais il est un peu possessif tout de même. Sei a également des sentiments naissants envers lui, j’espère qu’ils finiront ensembles… La fin du tome laisse entrevoir un futur moment tragique, mais à mon humble avis, se sera surtout un moment embarrassant pour Sei surtout. Elle vient de comprendre comment utiliser la bénédiction, et la raison de son activation est bien ce que je pensais… La pauvre ne sait plus où se mettre.
Toutefois, je pense que le sort peut être déclenché autrement. Il s’agit de vouloir sauver à tout prix, peut-être que cela ne s’applique pas qu’autres êtres humains ou aux proches. Enfin, ça se sera à Sei de le découvrir. Pour l’instant, leurs expéditions dans la forêt semblent bien périlleuses ! Même en avançant doucement et à tour de rôle, il devient difficile de continuer, surtout avec l’apparition de Slime, qui sont loin d’être gentils dans cette série. Pour l’instant, la présence d’un marais n’est pas confirmée, mais il est possible qu’il soit plus loin dans la forêt. L’avantage de la capitale, c’est qu’elle a des forces à disposition pour faire des expéditions régulières, ainsi, il est logique que le marais soit plus facile d’accès. Malgré la présence des mercenaires, il est possible qu’ils ne soient jamais allés bien loin dans la forêt, je crois même avoir lu qu’ils ne faisaient plus que les abords de la ville depuis un moment. Les monstres sont donc petit à petit montés en puissance, les faibles fuyants les forts pour survivre et se dirigeant alors vers la ville. Cette expérience pourrait indiquer qu’il va être de plus en plus difficile d’aider les différentes régions, puisqu’elles n’ont pas toutes les moyens de se défendre. La présence seule de la sainte ne suffira pas, et ils vont sans doute devoir faire face à de plus en plus d’ennemis puissants.

Inside the Klausner Territory, Sei is bending the rules from the director a bit by showing off herbal cooking techniques. The friendship she developed with local herbalist Corinne, however, pays off as she is granted access to the journal of a former Saintess. The clues inside along with some physical injuries to her favorite knights division allow her to discover the key to using her golden magic.

Very much more of the same. If you liked the other volumes you will enjoy this one, but if you were hoping for more intensity or some big reveal you will be disappointed.
