I realllllly like Dan and Sam so much, but I just couldn't do the conversational way it was written. I think maybe I was hoping for more of like a life story, less of a self help.

This was a hard book for me to read..in fact, I stopped about 50% of the way through. I think my expectations were unmet- and I thoroughly disagree with a lot of the push for not caring what your financial situation is- just take the trip! We love traveling and do it often, as a family and as a couple, but I could never be ok with being in significant debt and taking the trip. Different personalities, maybe. But it just came across as careless to me. I was looking forward to more of a memoir, less of a self-help style in writing.

Dan and Sam write in such a conversational way where you connect with them and their story so easily. A fun, light hearted book that made me laugh, and cry. There are so many ways to look at and prepare for adventure. This book made me want to plan a trip and get ready for my next adventure, while also seeking out adventure in my every day life.
