I was born in Trier, Germany, (Germany's oldest city) but now I live near Charleston, SC. I am happily married to my best friend, and I am the mother of a beautiful 24-year-old daughter
I released my first Novel, Realm of the Immortals - Truth (book 1) in 2014, and I couldn't be more proud. Of course, I won't stop there. I am very blessed to be able to give a million voices in my head a permanent home on paper. Feel free to follow me on Twitter, or friend request me on here and/or on Facebook. I am always interested in meeting new people and discussing books and life in general. And in case you read my book, please be so kind and leave me a review :)
I am updating this now 8 years later, and I have to admit, while I have many drafts written, I can't decide which one to make a reality. Life is hectic, and I also work full-time, so on my days off, instead of writing my own stories, I read others.
Realm of the Immortals ( Truth #1 ) by Tina Nelson
I received this book in exchange for an honest review by the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on Goodreads.com and the Author. I have to begin by saying that when I started reading this book, I was a little unsure of it. The story line was interesting, but the story felt rushed and a little clumsy. But as I continued to read the book, it improved vastly and I found myself loving it. ‘Realm of the Immortals’ is best described as a modern erotic fairy tale. Emily Dawson, the female protagonist in the story is an average 24 year old. She comes from a long line of very powerful witches, but firmly believes that these gifts have bypassed her, until she finds a box in her Grandmothers shed. Darian is a demon who is the King of his people. After the murder of his Father, he hates all witches and has become very bitter over the years. However there is a small detail of a Prophecy that tells of a powerful witch who will come to him and help save his people. The plot is well thought out and once you start reading the book, you have to find out what happens next. The characters are well thought out, but can be a bit melodramatic at times. The writing flows well, making this an easy read. This was a very good effort for a first book and I will be looking for the next book in this series. I look forward to more of Ms Nelson’s work.
"Realm of Immortals" is a fabulous new take on paranormal romance. Emily is an "average" young woman with an unknown ability. Darian is a "hunk" of a leader in another realm with a broken past and a hatred for those who have harmed his family. The prophetic path that brings them together is filled with great friends, excitement, adventure, emotional turbulence and heat. And did I say "HEAT"? The steamy romance that plays out is fabulous! The characters that are normal and real. There is an easy friendship between Emily and Anne that is great. And then throw in Mike - he is the goofy guy friend everyone wants and is adorable! You meet Darian's brothers and experience menace and mayhem from Patrick and the Calveri brothers... Every character adds something to this story. There is fantasy, demons, mystery and dream sequences. It's well-written with a fantastic storyline that allows the reader to visualize and escape into the "Realm of Immortals". The cliff-hanger ending has me hooked and patiently waiting for #2! I loved this book and can't wait to read more from Tina and Deb!
Genre: Paranormal Romance Author: Tina Nelson Book: Realm of the Immortals: #1 My star rating: 4.5 out of 5 I received this book in exchange for an honest review Lovers of Paranormal
I really liked this book!
This book has some pros and cons so lets start with the cons. 1. the first two chapters are kind of confusing. It has some flashbacks that you don't understand but will get better later in the chapters. 2. someone on the good side dies. They die early on so its not like some book where you fall in love with and then bam! they get killed at the end of the book. 3. I would love to find out more about her dad, I feel like he is just a fill in character and hidden in the back.
Pros. 1. I love the characters! 2. Great romance scenes. 3. this book was so great makes me want to continue on and read the rest of the series (which I will)

The first few chapters felt a little clumpsy and I had the feeling the writer wanted to get as soon as possible to Emily's dream world. The scenes in the real world seemed hurried and not as detailed as the other world. It got better when Emily started to travel to Darian. The pace of the book slowed down and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would after the first 2-3 chapters. I really like the idea of the book. Maybe Darians change from cold-hearted demon to a loving man could have been made a little slower. It was quite fast how Emily could influence him. All in all, a good story and a good book.

This is a thrilling suspenseful novel. It is a modern erotic fairy tale that keeps the reader on edge. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. It is about love and hatred, aggression and desire. As the plot unfolds, the world of Emily’s dreams becomes her real world and thus the realm of the immortal demons is intricately compared to the world of the mortal humans. I especially enjoyed the beginning of the novel through its middle because both its characterization and its suspense gradually paved the way to an exciting climax. In sum, I enjoyed reading this novel and I look forward to reading the next book in The Immortals series.
This was a really enjoyable read. It had a plot that was interesting, well thought out and imaginative with some well developed and exciting characters. I found it hard to put down. I did have some issued with the flow and I think it needs some sort of break between changes in character/time to help with transition. Apart from that it was a great read and I'm looking forward to seeing where the next one in the series takes us.

Where to start... This book was fantastic. I absolutely loved it. The story line was so well written that it pulled me in from the first few pages. I could not put it down. Emily is such a feisty lead that I liked her from the start. The events that happened throughout this book were great. I want my own Darian. There were some hot and steamy scenes that were well written. The story as a whole was awesome. A great add to your tbr list. I can't wait for the next book.
First off let me say I was a Beta Reader for this Author... Now for my review ... I LOVED this book ... I could not put it down .. she would send me bits and pieces and I would beg for more. Such a great read. Once I started I could not stop. The characters were well written and the story had me gripped right from the very start. Tina Nelson has a vivd imagination that translates into her writing. I look forward to reading more books from this author.
**I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal) Goodreads.com** Wow, what an awesome book, I was hooked from the very beginning. It was brilliantly introducing a brand new paranormal world fairly similar to ours and characters we can love. It was excellently written giving the perfect blend of description and storyline that is needed for a first in the series book.
The main characters were Emily and Darian I thought the main characters were brilliant together with one of them offering personality traits which the other friend's possess giving us a wide range of likeable traits. I loved the sparks and conflict that goes on between them before they fall in love but I found the parts of the story when they were in love equally entertaining. I found the relationship between Emily's family and Darian to be an interesting addition to the story between the two of them however I felt it could have been used more in order to create more sparring moments between the two of them. I also thought Darian's brothers reaction to Emily very refreshing however ultimately a bit odd since Darian's hatred for Emily is so huge.
The secondary characters that I feel noteworthy include Maggie, Damon, Christian, Mary and Beth. Maggie is a bad guy in hugely embedded in this story, she is the sister of the rival family to Darian's who puts herself in Emily's life in order to gain her trust- I loved Maggie as a bad guy, I find her slippery and hard to pin down in that I can't for the life of me figure out if she's going to hurt Mary (Emily's mother) or Mike (Emily's friend). Damon is one of Darian's brothers who is not present for all of the book however I liked how he is the one to take on most of the responsibility to find the rival family. Christian is another of Darian's brothers who is there for a lot of the story- so much that I thought he was going to be the person Emily ended up with. Mary is Emily's mother, I liked this character as she stood by her beliefs until she was proven wrong, then she was willing to accept that she was wrong and she continued to support Emily throughout the book.
The pacing was good giving us enough time to get to know the characters before introducing them to each other in a new surrounding. I also liked how the story progressed and that the big face off between the waring family's didn't happen in the last chapter- therefore causing it to be squished and not as climatic as it deserved to be.
The storyline was brilliantly original and offered a wide range of characters to fall in love with as well as a new paranormal species and a new fairy tale worthy surrounding. I thought the book was brilliantly planned having everything fall into place perfectly and spacing it out as to keep the reader interested right until the last page.
4 stars a great read and a series/ author I will look out for in the future.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and it was easy to like all of them. The main character, Emily, was a great female lead. She was strong, independent and knew what she wanted. I liked that she was very decisive, realistic, logical and forgiving. She used information to her advantage for the most part, which I enjoyed. With all the "alpha male" romances I've been reading, Emily was a breath of fresh air because she didn't go making irrational decisions based on nothing.
There were a few things that I thought needed improvement in the book. During the first half of the book, the present and past tense sentence structure was odd, just didn't seem correct at times. There was some blending of writing in first or second person. The language of the characters wasn't consistent. There were times where certain characters said some phases where I questioned the language of the characters. The language of all the characters completely changed by the last third of the book, not that it was a bad; I actually liked it better.
Overall I would recommend this book if you like paranormal romances with alpha males :-)

I'm torn with this book. I really love the characters and the plot line. However, some things felt rushed toward the end. I don't know if it was to wrap up certain parts of the story line with a neat little bow, or if the authors didn't want the story too long. One example was Mikey. His character knows nothing of the supernatural for most of the story, yet he's conveniently ok with everything in less than a week's time with only a couple sentences dedicated to his acceptance. Several of these things could have been drawn out a bit further, or extended to book two.
I know this sounds nitpicky, but the reason the rushing bothered me is that I truly did enjoy this book and didn't want it to end. In fact, I became quite intrigued with each character and the storyline as a whole. I can't wait to read book two.
Wow, what a fantastic read. The plot is very well developed and the characters feel like friends not yet met. The main characters are multi faceted and not just one dimensional. Tina has a great way of weaving a web around you and untangles it when you are ready.
At least this one felt more like a love story. I look forward to reading the next one in this series.
I highly recommend this for lovers of the paranormal, especially the ones who love a good love story.
I received this book from the author for an honest review (LoP, lovers of the paranormal).
This book wasn't as good as it could be now don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's a bad book in fact I love most everything about it. I just wish the characters had their own personality they all sound the same to me. It was really confusing trying to figure out who said what to whom but I can honestly say I can't wait to read the next book.I received this book in exchange for an honest review (Lovers of Paranormal)
I RECEIVED THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW FROM LOVERS OF PARANORMAL. I absolutely loved this book. I hated when I had to deal with real life things and put it down. The characters were captivating and surprisingly developed really well, considering that in some instances the book felt rushed. I couldn't get enough of Darian with his tortured soul. I can't wait for the next book, I will definitely be reading this one again. I have to know when they destroy the Calveris.
I'm not too much into paranormal but the characters in this book were so interesting and fun. I really enjoyed hanging out with them and getting to know them. In fact, I was sad when I finished and missed them for a while.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review (Lovers of Paranormal)
Alas, I cannot find the allure that most readers seem to have found in this book, which is a shame because the plot is quite interesting. Time and time again I thought that I was going to get into the story (the author does a fair job of drawing the reader in) but I kept pulling back. I found the characters, in general, to overact in a lot of situations. They would either go ballistic when they were angry (like repeatedly punching into a wall, shouting at the top of their lungs for minor annoyances, or throwing far too many chairs into walls when they abruptly stood up), or go into fits of hysterics when something was funny (there were far too many tears rolling down faces over jokes). I wanted to like Darian, but there was just something about him that did not draw me in. I found his and Emily’s relationship went from one end of the spectrum to another in far too quick a time. I found the pace of the book far too rushed and lacking in detail (I still cannot tell you for the life of me how the castle really looks plan-wise but for a few details here and there) and the dialogue a bit unrealistic at times.
I was just not captured with this story.
I hate to give bad reviews, especially because I’m well aware of how much work goes into writing a book. However, I was asked for an honest review, and I do need to give just that.
