What a great book this was. When I first heard that Adam’s book will be coming out before Slade and Jill’s book, I was so disappointed. Luckily this book read more like a filler, with loads of happenings in the plot and with all the characters.

At the end of the previous book Adam found out that Angelina who was kidnapped was auctioned off by the human trafficking ring the VC Warriors has been trying to put a stop to, and that she married the guy who bought her, seeming happy with her circumstances. But nothing is what it seems, and Adam together with his fellow Warriors and Lana has find the truth of what is really happening and putting a stop to it, before it’s too late for Adam’s Angel.

There is also trouble brewing from the new mayor, Tom Ferguson, and his fiancé, Alice (that awful bitch who Sloan removed as one of the blood donors for the VC Warriors), and the plans they have put into motion could mean the start of a war between humans and vampires, something the VC Warriors has been trying to stop from happening for thousands of years. The plot definitely got a lot more intense in this book and kept me glued to my book throughout.

“You didn’t fail me, Adam.” Angelina pulled away slightly to look up at him. “I knew you’d be back for me.”
It felt like something slammed into his heart making it sink to his stomach, then rush back up to his throat. The faith she had in him was scary as hell, but meant more to him than anything ever had. He would make damn sure he never failed her, ever. “I will always be back for you, Angel.”

I’ve enjoyed the romance between Adam and Angelina since the second book and I’m glad that sweet Angelina, who has been in love with Adam for years, finally got her HEA with him. They were so cute together.

Sid and Lana also had some obstacles to overcome, which just added depth to their relationship and as always I loved seeing them together. Lana’s sister, Caroline, also played a bigger role in this book, getting more comfortable with her gift of communicating with the dead, and I really like her feistiness. A new warrior also joined their team, Jax Wheeler, a badass with tons of attitude and I’m looking forward to seeing more of him.

Then there is Slade and Jill, my favorite characters, and hopefully very soon, couple. The chemistry and tension between these two got a lot more intense in this book, and I can’t wait for them to finally give into their feelings!!

I love this series with its excellent humor and banter and the passionate romance. A definite must read for all PNR fans.

Adam was an idiot. I would have liked this book a lot more if it was confirmed that he was not letting the whore blood donor suck his d!@k while Angelina was missing. The whore was a liar so I choose to believe it not true, but I wish I knew.

Angelina was too sweet. Adam was a prick at times. Especially in the past when he did not act like she existed. I do not get what made his view of her change.

Anyway in the present day, the story was waaay light on romance and basically no sex. Maybe a little at the end? This was more of a plot progression story than a real romance between the MCs.

OMG I AM SO FREAKING MAD! That tramp Alice needs her face ripped off!!!!
That being said This book is the perfect bridge for what I hope will be what comes next and think it's going to explosive!
Adam is back at the compound and determined to become a warrior. His heart is broken but, he knows he needs his family.
After listening to Jill one night he goes to double check that Angelina is really happy. Thank god he did though because everything he believed to be true is a lie!
Angelina knew Adam would come back for her. She prayed for it and dreamt about it! Then there he is!! Not only is Adam getting his love back but, the warriors have to face the facts that Alice (crazy w***e) has the mayor by his jewels and she will do anything to get back at them for not wanting her trashy butt!
A war is coming!

This author always does an amazing job of making me want a warrior of my very own! (Hint hint Jax will do perfectly) if you haven't read this series then you missing it. It's a kick butt, oh so fine warriors, amazing heroines, and story lines that rock!

I love Teresa Gabelman's VC (Vampire Council) Warriors! Adam (The Protectors Series) Book #5 is the fifth book.

The Warriors have worked for over a thousand years to prevent a devastating war between vampires and humans and to protect those who can't protect themselves, and a new evil threatens the world. Modern science and greed combine as human traffickers use drugs to force people into a dangerous half-breed vampire existence. As all this starts, the Warriors begin discovering their mates creating a new vulnerability for them. Saving the world has become very complicated.

Each of the books in the series can be read "stand alone", but they are all awesome. This is Adam and Angelina's story. Sid is my favorite - I love his attitude. I'm impatiently waiting for Slade's and Sloan's books; they're on my "Want To Read" shelf. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Jax's story will follow soon!

I agree with what the others are saying, that Adam and whats-her-face were such a small part of the story, it didn't really feel like 'their' story. But... I didn't mind. Still enjoyed the characters and the banter. The politics are getting even shallower and the intrigue is juvenile, but it was still a fun read and I look forward to the next one.

This continues to be one of my favorite series. I'm so glad that Adam got his HEA and especially with who he got his HEA with. Loved Sid and Lana. Can't wait to see what happens with Jax and I'm so looking forward to Jill and Slade!! The way the book ended has me excited to see how Teresa moves this series forward. So good!!

Now I'm wanting to read the series again from the beginning. :)

AHHHHHH OMG I sat and read this book in one afternoon. I was so dang excited to get this from Teresa, that when it came, I lost my ever loving mind. I stopped reading what I needed to read in order to read Adam.

When we last saw Adam, he was broken. His love Angel had met and married an older man who saved her from the traffickers. I mean how can she dump Adam like this. She KNEW he loved and cared for her yet she throws it all away for some other man who protected her?? GROWL!! Needless to say I am not a Angel fan. SO I was happy to see Adam decide to move on and let her go. His heart will always be hers but it is time to move on. I loved the person that Teresa sets Adam up with. It is a GREAT plot twist that I am not even gonna SAY or HINT too. You wanna know then people buy the book!! You aint getting a spoiler here...no way...no how.

So in other Warrior news, Jill is really mad about being seen naked by all the guys in the last book. She, Adam and Steve find out that they are under way to start "official" warrior training...cool right...wellllll maybe not so cool. They need a really high pass rating score to be a Warrior or they are booted from the program.
To make matters worse, Jill being a woman is a liability. Yeah Jill is not happy to hear that news. The new warrior in town also takes a shine to our Jilly-Bean much to the anger of our Dr. Hottie Slade.

Well the big plot in the book is Lana and her sister sending messaged from the grave to the Warriors. A big piece of news is passed to the guys from a bad person in their past warning of a new threat/war brewing. It will pit humans vs. vampires. This new bad person is a great set up for the next book...I can't wait.....soooo Teresa we will be getting that like tomorrow right!!??

Hot damn! I have to be honest....I wasn't sure what to expect from Adam's book and I wasn't quite sure if I was going to love it, partially due to me not being fully invested into Adam's character, although I was still curious where and what he was going to do with his life after the one he looked for was with someone else...and happily married.

There is a war between humans, vampires, and half breeds. Which there has always been a war...but not to the level expected and the impact of the lives that it involves.

We continue to follow all of the antics of the VC warriors and their mates, and they all stay true to their character, which I love. This book involves a huge change of events, just when I thought that things will slowly come to a close for The Protector Series, I'm wrong...I believe this is the peak of the series and hope there will be plenty more to come, especially when the plot thickens.

The path that Adam has found himself...is unexpected but well deserved. Events take place that will have Adam find his place in life. A must read. ~book was gifted in exchange for honest review.

Another great book from a series that just keeps getting better.

One of the things I love about Teresa’s books is, she always brings back our favorite bad boys. I have read way too many series where important characters from previous books just disappeared. Teresa has a way of bringing in previous characters and enhancing the storyline with a perfect balance.

Another thing I love is how she slowly builds up characters in each book, as if getting the reader prepared for something down the line. In Adam's book we were introduced to a new Warrior, and I can't wait to see what he gets up to in future books. We also got to hear from Steve a bit more in this book. He has always tickled me with his sweet innocence, but this time he was laugh out loud.

The cliffhanger I never saw coming, and I am getting excited to see this continue in Slade's book.

I hope this series continues for some time. It is a place I re-visit from time to time and never get tired of re-reading the Warriors stories.

3 1/2 stars. First of all, I thought the story was good. What I did not think, was that it was Adam's story so much as a continuation of all the characters. (I don't mind the "continuation" aspect. I just don't feel it should have been marketed as Adam's story when I feel other characters like Jill got almost equal time.). It was very entertaining, but I didn't feel you even got a taste of Adam's and Angel's story until well into the second half, and there really wasn't much too it. I enjoy this series--I have read and loved all the books. For me, it was an exciting addition to the series as a whole. It is definitely not for someone to jump into if they have not read he other previous stories-- there is really no backstory to explain what is going on. I thought it was well written, and very emotional in parts, but really not much of a romance. I am looking forward to the next book.

Tidak ada yang paling ngenes kalau baca seorang hero yang tersingkir dari bukunya sendiri. Adam di sini tidak sepenuhnya lenyap sih, cuma mendapat sorotan super minimalis. Yah.. Hanya sekitar 20 persen buku. Cobaan yang di alami Adam si calon Warrior sudah kita ikuti dari buku-buku sebelumnya. Karena itu, tak salah dong kalau aku berharap akan ada semacam klimaks dari semua "kisah hidup dan romance" blasteran vampire muda ini.

Di luar dugaan, novel ini justru lebih banyak bercerita tentang kelanjutan hubungan Sid yang makin serius, aksi manipulatif Alice (entah kenapa jadi semacam musuh besar yang harus di perhatikan), munculnya nama calon villain baru, proses inisiasi para half breed dan juga munculnya seorang VC warrior baru keturunan Indian, Jax. Walau aku suka dengan kepribadian dan kekuatan telepati Adam, tapi perkembangan romancenya super duper flat dan errr..membosankan. Jadi aku agak bersyukur juga Angelina dan Adam cuma diceritakan bak figuran di buku ini.

I liked this book; maybe not as much as I did the others so far in the series mind you, but I did like it.

To me this book felt more like filler and a way to ease the transition from Sid's book to Slade's. To me it seemed like the first third of the book continued to look at the relationship between Sid and Lana, wrapping up the story line from their book, and solidifying where they are at within their relationship. The last third very much felt like the final stages of the set up for the story between Slade and Jill that we have been dancing around for the last couple of books, with only the middle third really focusing on what is going on with Adam. Since I have been reading these back to back with no break between each of them, this doesn't make much of a difference to me as the all just blend into one really long book. However if I had to wait a period of time before being able to read this, I feel I would have been a bit disappointed that the story and relationship between Adam and Angelina wasn't more of a main focus.

I like the way that the author makes sure all of the characters are a part of each book, and when new characters are added, that we continue to see them in future installments. I think that this really helps to show the development of the plot lines and helps with the world building.

I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series, not only because we finally get to see the what happens between Slade and Jill, but also because of the new development in the story line with the war/segregation against half-breeds.

I would totally recommend this series. There's plenty of action and romance, with a good amount of humour to stop things from getting too dark.

Book 5 in series

I’ve not been shy with my opinion of Adam ( sids book did him no favours as far as I’m concerned )
He is a stroppy little man child and continues to be so in this book... he supposidly removed his head from his arse somewhat by ‘focusing to be the best warrior ever’ and I’m not sure if that worked out for him or not... he is still a stroppy man child as far as I’m concerned and I’m not sure he deserves Angelina. Not that she’s much of a charachter... time will tell in that respect

As for the rest of this book, again lots of goings on and activity, Lana and Sid finally sorted their issues out, poor Jill is still having problems with perpetual dr mcheadfuck, Sloan is getting tested at ever turn and now we have a new charachter introduced...negotiator jax.... oh and half breed concentraiton camps... as if a vampire blood drug Ring and female ( human and half breeds ) trafficking weren’t enough to contend with! The poor cx warriors just can catch a break... now the treaty between humans and vampires has been well and truest broken.

The book was meant to be Adam and Angelinas but with all the ‘stuff’ going on it made it easy to forget about them, and focus on the setting up of other couples and charachters...in all honesty I preferred it this way...

What is Steve’s superpower? Oh yeah his memory!! Bahahahahahha can any one say short strew!!

The reader doesn't get a 'romance' for the MC in this outing, what's offered is the wrapping of threads of what's gone on before although the bulk is answers on Adam/Angelina's affair. There's more on the trafficking ring, growing pains for Sid and Lana plus a new job for Lana. Also; Jill and Slade pose for their upcoming star turn and yet that's not all.

Half breed vampire Adam Pride accepts but isn't settled about Angelina's far-fetched tale. Fellow half breed Jill insists Adam can't believe Angelina loved him, was kidnapped by breeders, bought/saved by then married her true love who happened to be there to stop his brother from buying a female and didn't think Adam would want to know. (Whew!)

Silently Adam isn't as gullible as he acts about Angelina. But as that romance is resolved a mystery uncovers more issues than any of the team expected. Jill's nemesis, vampire blood donor, Alice Marshall, has recovered from being fired by the warriors and is the new mayor's fiancé, leading the charge establishing 'half breed concentration camps'.

But the trainees have more to worry about with the upcoming initiation trials that could not only cost them their positions with the warriors... it could cost them their lives. New stud in town, Jax Wheeler thoroughly shreds the female ranks.

Adam & Angelina

The social injustice that has been depicted throughout this series really comes to a tipping point. The Warriors must make a decision on which side they will fight for. It really comes as no surprise as to what they choose. Even though it is a tough decision because of their deep convictions and beliefs. This injustice really hits home with the half-breeds Adam, Jill, Steve, Pam and our new arrival Jax- a Native American. If this doesn’t make you angry, well there’s plenty more to chew on between human trafficking, bigotry and down right vile evilness.
The Warriors are true heroes fighting for the innocent while dealing with their inner demons and turmoil.
Adam and Angelina’s story is filled with sweet tender moments and harrowing dangerous moments. Adam is gentle with his Angel. I felt that her character called for this until we got to know her better through the horror she endures by the hand of truly evil men. This book felt more like a group book rather than strictly Adam and Angelina. Certainly an excellent addition to this series.

The half breeds are still being targeted. The humans are at risk too. Traffickers have realised that they can profit from their sales and greed takes over. To top it all there is a manipulative and jealous vampire who wants their downfall. There is ambitious Mayor who is blinded by this b.

Adam is getting over his broken heart, only to discover that his angel is in a misleading situation. The whole gang features in this installment, therefore it's not centred around Adam and Angel. Jill is trying hard to be a good warrior whilst fighting her attraction to Slade. Sid and Lana's journey continues. We get a good glimpse of the full cast and the warriors are as close as ever. They discover a human trafficking ring which is targeting innocent women. Will the warriors be able to stop them?

It's a good continuation to the story, although I would have liked to have seen more of Angel and Adam. This doesn't make the story less enjoyable, on the contrary the humour and danger together with the twists make for an interesting storyline.

Amazingly timely

This is an excellent story With a complex plot and characters you really care about. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

This is a book with themes of gender equality, marginalization of people because of things not in their control, and the bully mentality that makes people think that they are better than someone else and can therefore do whatever they want to them. Without consequence.

This is a book about vampires, 1/2 breeds,and humans, but what I'm seeing is the political world in which we are living right now, Where people are marginalized based on the color of their skin, the country of their origin, their religious beliefs, their gender, and the financial strata into which they were born. Be honest, it is true.

I'm hoping these guys do a better job of sorting things out then we are in the United States these days.

Adam is back in the Warriors trading program on probation. If he messes up he’s out for good. An initiation (very shocking.) is coming up and it doesn’t help that he’s really worried about Angelina.

Lana is having problems with persistent spirits with messages for all the warriors except Sid. This leads to an ending that is the beginning of a major storyline event. (I think she gets overly emotional and needs to think before acting. Afterall, she is a policewoman.)

I felt really badly for Jill. None of this is her fault, but everything’s going against her. Basically, like any woman in a man’s field.

Fave scenes: Sid’s reaction to Lana’s problem, knocking on Adam’s door, the older woman in the store and Adam putting on the hairband.

Good read.

Great book, I am so glad that Adam got Angelina back and I'm glad Adam decided to get off his ass (which took him long enough) to see that Angelina was lying and that she loved him and didn't just fob him off for another man but was just protecting others.

I loved how this book was a stepping stone that lead into Slade`s and Jill's story. It was a little different to see Jax`s reaction to Jill when he acts so differently in the next part but Im glad it shows this side tho him aswell. And the Mayor and Alice I can't wait for their comeuppance as they seriously need to go.

This is how the world ceases to live

I just love how the author continues to build the overriding story while focusing on one couple. Each of her characters become such an intrical part of every book and I am totally invested in the outcome of the war and if they each find their HEA. I am so glad Adam found his Angel, too bad it took him a while to see past his pain to the truth. Thank goodness for Jill, she’s always there to slap some sense into a warrior. I can’t wait to read the next book and see how the mighty will fall, yep, fall all over themselves to secure their mate and her happiness. The perfect element to a fantastic story.

War against half breeds?

The warriors are trying to find a ring who sell girls, and some who turn them and sell them. Adam finds Angelina supposedly married. The new mayor starts rounding up half breeds and puts them in a fenced off area.
The war begins. Slate gets closer to kill and a new warrior appears on the a scene. I won't give anything away but you need to read this. If you have not read any of the books in this series start with book one. Each book delves a little further into the lives of the warriors. I love them all.

Angel's back where she belongs, but...

I hope this author has a voice recognition software to dictate to that has spell and grammar check. She needs it to keep up with the demand, these books are fantastic! I know there are 10, and I'm only this far, but I already know I want more. Adam and the Warriors clean up another den of traffickers turning people into half-breeds, while the new Mayor, or old friend Defective Ferguson hooks up with our least favorite blood donor Alice to create some SERIOUS chaos. No spoilers, you have to read for the good stuff.

Adam is a half breed and his finding his mate isn't as easy as the other warriors. A lot happens in this book and brings a lot of new characters. Adam is a young half breed with a chip on his shoulder who wants to be a VC Warrior and is a VC Warrior recruit with a unique power . Luckily his friends are there for him and convince him to not believe what appears to be going on with his "angel". This leads the warriors to a new mission and a potenyptial terrifying future for half breeds and Humans.

I Love This Series

What an outstanding job of writing! Teresa Gabelman has nailed this paranormal romance series. The characters are so vividly depicted it's like watching the story on film. I especially like the fact that even though each book is named for a specific VC Warrior, the events affecting others are included so you see a well rounded series of events, not just a narrow focus on one Warrior.

Trouble

Hell hath no fury like .. You know they saying but it shows up several times in this story. Lana shows it, the angry jilted red haired vamp certain shows that vengeance is her tool. Angelina shows her step father her scorn. Yep, lots of scorn. Adam was hardly the central character in this book. Yet it included his story without mentioning his grandfather, sister or parents. Not really Adams story just a thread in the series.

Oh my god. . . this protector series is fantastic.. Not just a supernatural slash bicker romance with vamps and half breeds. You have a storyline to sink your teeth in, with adventure coming are way. Not just sex on multiple pages but warm meaningful exchanges. Worthy read, the fifth novel has a projection of pulling more reader's with a fight on the Protectors hands to keep the half breed free.

Amazing!
