I was incredibly honored to beta read this book. As a lover of this series I can honestly say this is my favorite. All the amazing characters are here along with twists and turns and a whole lot of ass kicking ! If you love the Protector series you do not want to miss this one. Slade will rock your world!!!!

Slade is probably my second favorite hero apart from Damon. Slade was so funny throwing people through walls! He was broody and grumpy. I loved that part! His ongoing denial of feelings for Jill got old quick though. But Jill was too young and immature and insecure for him. I totally did not get them one bit!!!!

This one had great plot progressions, the romance was ok, better than some.

This was another fun read by this author. I kinda wish Slade had grovelled more for hurting Jill's feelings and being an asshat to her. But it was still sweet to finally read about them getting together. Like the last couple books in this series, I felt like the focus of the story was too splintered between the MC love interests and the beginnings of love interest of the next couple up. The stripper pole practice scene, was kinda lame imho and so unrealistic I did a lot of eye rolling .

Had to give this a fifth star just because I've gone back to re-read it so many times.

We are the unloved

I think this is my favorite book in the series so far. You can’t help but love Jill, she is sweet and innocent and can take off someone’s head with a smile. Then there is Slade, or shall we say Dr McHottie, he is as gorgeous as they come and the perfect example of domineering alpha male, he can heal you or kill you all with the flick of a wrist. To say fireworks happen when these two get together is an understatement. The author was able to convey so much with just a few well placed words. This book is filled with action, danger, and emotion that will leave you in a state of wonder when you reach the HEA. I really don’t know how she can top it, but I look forward to reading the next book and finding out.

ALL ABOARD THE SLADE TRAIN!

I've been waiting for this one. Been waiting, drooling, and panting for Dr. McHottie's book to come out. Ever since Slade was introduced into this series, I've been lingering on the edge of madness to get a piece of him. All that fingernail biting ended on the day Slade got delivered to my kindle! Mmmm... Slade! Lemme tell you people, it was worth the wait and the crusty nubs left of my fingers! This books is so much more than I thought it would be. It's got your hot VC Warriors, the equally hot and sexy women, and so much humor that I (as well as my hubs) found myself laughing out loud more times than I can count.

Well, I'd like to tell you that Slade melted my heart, buuuuut.... just kidding... he did just that and so much more. With every story Teresa writes that Slade is in, my love grew more and more with every written word about him. He's mysterious, he's bossy, he's outrageously brawny, and he's oh so damn sexy! One thing that kept me from throwing my arms around him and claiming him for my own was the fact that he was still denying his feelings for Jill. I hate that... made my heart hurt! God this man drove me crazy.

Jill on the other hand. This is a girl with a purpose. A need to show everyone and anyone who she is and how hard-hitting she can be. From where she came from and where she's going to, her story is one that almost broke me. Even with a few minor set backs and derogatory comments, this girl never loses her sense of humor. She runs with the boys, she's better than the boys, and she's not afraid to show it. My kinda girl! That flashing yellow light part... O...M...G!!!!

Great supporting character cast. Sid is his same funny bunny self! Always throwing out zingers at everyone! Adam and Steve have wormed their way into my heart with their over protective nature where Jill is concerned! Love those two! All the girls, Pam, Lana, Caroline, Tessa, Nicole, and Angelina... boy if I had all those bitches in my corner I'd be grinning from ear to ear. That stripper pole tutorial was the best! Of course Teresa's villains are outstanding and make this story that much richer even though I want to set their faces on fire and put it out with a fork. Especially that evil Alice. Wow, never thought I'd actually hate a character that much!

To sum this one up, it's superb in its storyline and keeps you glued to its pages with its compelling story and powerful characters. The dialogue is just right, amusing, and persuasive. It flowed with grace and beauty. It was effortless to read and the pacing is perfect. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm totally looking forward to reading about Sloan. He kind of pissed me off a bit and I wasn't sure about him, but now all I can think about is the woman who will bring him to his knees! It's 299 (kindle version) pages long and just right for this reader!

I received this book from the author for an honest opinion.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH *runs around the room* I love this woman!! I cannot get enough of her books. They are full of passion, humor (come on Sid is funny), whit, twisting plots and soooo much more. One thing I really love is that her storyline is always moving forward. We never have the same stale plot line or a recycling of boy meets girl love story. Each and every Warrior and their mate has had their own issues and drama to fact while dealing with whatever new bad guy they are trying to track down. I also love that with each book we still see a lot and keep up with the other Warriors and their mates......Cuz serioulsy I needs me some Jared time......*licks lips*

Ok so Slade aka Vampire Dr. Hottie Mc Hot Stuff has been lusting over our little half-breed Jilly Bean since he walked on to the set of the series. I mean, HELLO, IF I didnt love Jared like I do.......uhm yeah I would be a Slade girl!! ANYWAY, our girl Jill has been through the gamet of emotion. She got booted for being turned, she is the only female recuit in the Warrior program and she isnt really well liked by anyone outside of the Warriors compound. She sees and works with Slade but figures he would soooo not be interested in her when he can have awful but beautiful Alice. We see them fighting against everything to be together...each fighting this pull while EVERYONe else is about to kick their butts. ( OMG the bet scene when everyone pays up about the Slade/Jill will they/wont they relationship bet...I was in stiches!!!!) When they FINALLY get to "relating" to each other, I was so happy buuuuut Slade *shakes finger* was an EPIC DB and made me and Jill cry.....GROWL Warrior. NOT COOL!!!!

Slade and Jill have to deal with alot this book but the show down between Alice and Jill is EVERYTHING you wanted and then more!! Trust me. I totally re-read that scene!! I loved Jill from the start but each book she has proven to be such an amazing member of the team and I, along with Slade, were so proud of her!!!

This book was a great set up for the next book. I am really excited about everything. I wanna yell at Teresa though because I was crying at the last 20% of the book. She cannot ever do something like that to me again. It is a good thing I dont have her phone number or she would have gotten a snot sobbing call from me saying "WHY!!!!"

Absolutely loved it ! I have been waiting for this book and it certainly didn't disappoint !! Teresa write amazing stories of her Warriors and with their detailed quirky personalities wrapped up in a full blown action packed story, i found myself laughing our loud more then once as I read this story.

So finally the Inevitable happens Jill and Slade, woo what a couple but of course the path of true love and lust doesn't go smoothly, with Jill only days away from her Initiation tests to confirm her place as a VC Warrior Slade is still off limits as her Mentor but a girl can only wait so long before the depth of their feelings are forced to the surface as the Warriors and their Ladies have a very Trying week.

This was a very powerful emotional struggle of will's as these 2 characters fight their love and protectiveness to work as Warriors and help bring down some of their enemies as the War on Half Breed's like Gill are trying to destroy them through fear,Ignorance and just plain Evil and revenge from a former Blood Doner.

Loved it loved it I really loved the whole team of Warriors and their Ladies and thought it was a great story where Slade was brought to his knee's by his Love for Gill ( more then once )and of course the other Warrior's took advantage as only they could with their teasing hehe, amazing action packed non-stop drama's and threats causing this book to be a non-stop read.

Gill i felt grew up more in herself and became a real women as her love for her family, Slade and her passion for her job as a Warrior all rolled into one brought her out of her shell and into a kick ass take no prisoner's bad ass Warrior making everyone especially Slade very proud of her. She finally realizes her love for Slade is something neither of them can ignore and as they fight together with the other Warrior's she stands proud as truly one of the Great VC Warriors.

The romance and wooing is great and simple, Slade always being there for support whether big or small and when they finally come together prepare for some mind blowing hot sexiness as their passions and desparate need's over take causing highly sexually charged encounters !!

Cant wait for next in the series and a absolute must read series x

Since The Protector Series is one of my all time favorites, I was doing the happy dance in anticipation to reading Slade’s story until I saw the cover. That is when I fainted dead on the floor. Ok ladies, this has to be the best sizzling Hottie man cover I have ever laid eyes on. To top it off, for me it is the perfect way I see Slade in my head. Here is one of my favorite quotes that reflects what you see when you drool over this cover.

“He was so much taller than her; she had to tiptoe to bring the shirt over his head. He kept his arms down to his sides so the shirt just went around the back of his neck. Now, that was fucking hot as hell. Deciding to leave it like that, she ran her hands slowly down his body, loving the sensation of his muscles beneath her hands.”

This story featuring Jill Nichols and Slade Buchanan is so far my favorite. Yes, I say this with every new installment, but I do mean it.
Going from fear, to excitement, then laughter to tears, this read wraps up everything a good book needs between the well written pages.
While Jill works hard and proves she should be part of the VC Warriors, she also shows her vulnerability and womanly side, which I appreciate.
Slade is an all dominant, demanding (in a good way) *wiggling my eyebrows* and powerful male. And when he finally gets Jill behind closed doors he’s not afraid to show his traits. I now want to change my name and become Mrs. Jill Buchanan LOL.
All the other characters (with their unique personalities) in the series are included in this story too, which is an outstanding bonus. Together they all share a bond of love, and family, even though they don’t always act like it at times.
Applause to you Teresa Gabelman, this is positively a winner.

This is my most anticipated book of this series so far, and of my year. I have fallen completely for Teresa Gabelman's Protector series, which is on a very sturdy and equal footing with the likes of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood, if not notching a few steps higher ...

Since we first met Slade, I have been waiting for his story. The one where he and Jill finally find a way to get it together. And I wasn't disappointed. With the continuation of the underlying story about the hate campaign between half breeds and humans running the background, you'll be easily carried away with the story. Especially as Jill proves again and again that she is more than worthy of her place as a VC Warrior and as the woman to stand at Slade's side.

This book is a rollercoaster of emotions, making my family look on in puzzlement as I went from tears to laughter and back to tears. And the author is not afraid of getting grim and gritty, when it come to entertaining her readers.

Ideally, if you're going to read this book, you should read the first five in the series before, since they so perfectly introduce many of the other characters who make up this fantastic series. In fact you'll be doing yourself a massive disservice if you don't read them. This series is just fantastic. And although I have my suspicions as to whose story might come next ... personally I can't wait for Sloan.

This book is a keeper and one I'll be returning to again and again.

I loved Slade and Jill. The anticipation of their romance over the last couple of books in the series, was great.
The only disappointment I have is that I now have to WAIT for Sloan.....and Jax and I am hoping Stevie....This is a great series and I highly recommend it for those who love the vamp romance genre.

Jill was taken from her family and turned into a half-breed. Her family turned their backs on her and she was forced to survive on her own. It is hard for a woman, especially when she is a half vampire and half human. But it is Jill’s goal to be a warrior. She has a lot of obstacles to overcome to accomplish her goal. If it had not been for her other half-breed friends and the VC Warriors she would not have survived. Now the half-breeds are facing a new foe, the mayor and his fiancé are out to incarcerate them. The only reason that Jill was not rounded up with the other half-breeds is that she is the process of become a VC Warrior and is protected by law. Since the first moment Jill had met Dr. Slade Buchanan, the electricity between the two was smoking! How long will they continue to ignore each other and the attraction they feel for each other?

Trained as a VC Warrior, a healer and also a member of the council, Slade has an obligation to his people as well as humans. His job is to not only protect but to also train future warriors. Jill and her

Would I recommend this book: Yes! When you have a hot, alpha male that recognizes his one and only and will do anything to protect and claim her, you have a really scorching hot read. Add a spunky female that has serious issues and you have the perfect situation for pandemonium!

Would I recommend this author: Yes! Ms. Gabelman is an amazing author that continually gives her audience more with each book she shares. Love the way she transitioned from this book to preparing her fans for the next. I cannot wait for Jax and Caroline’s story.

They should have called this book Jill. It is about the romance between the VC Warrior's doctor/trainer (Slade) and Jill who is a turned (half vamp/half human) recruit for the VCW. She had been viciously attacked and turned without her consent into a vampire. Because of the tremendous fear and ignorance among many humans her family threw her out of the house to fend for herself. This occurred in one of the early books. Despite each book in the series being dedicated to a couple, many future threads are born and grow through the books.

She was taken in by some other, what are called "half-breeds" who like her were turned and are now hiding from authorities in the woods trying to make it day to day without being arrested. While humans tolerate full vampires they abhor a turned vampire like Jill because she represents what they fear: that all humans will be turned eventually.

The VC Warriors are a group of highly trained, beefy, alpha warriors who police the rogue vampires so that the relationship with humans and vampires is kept peaceful. They come across this group of "turned" vampires and take them in to train them to be VC Warriors. Jill has a crush on her trainer, Slade. Slade is instantly attracted to her but knows while he is her trainer nothing can happen between them. She needs to focus on training.

While they pine for each other, we get glimpses into her first contact with her family after being thrown out. Slade takes her to see her father who had a heart attack. This is a very painful scene to witness and it is really sad to see how her mother and older sister, out of fear want nothing to do with her.

We see Jill grow into the warrior in this book she is and volunteers to go undercover to gain information about this secretive plot to round up and destroy "half breeds." Jill is awesome, she shows no fear and goes after her goal. She is smart, strong and it is fun to see her accomplish things like getting her driver's license. Things she was denied when kicked out of her home. But it is nice to see her feeling of self worth go up as she completes her assignment and contributes to the cause and team.

What I really like about this series is the characters and the relationships between them. The banter and the way they interact is so fun to watch in much the way they do in BDB and other similar series. The relationship between Slade and Jill slowly sizzles until it erupts. But the real story here is how Jill goes from being a dejected...almost freak to a valued member of the VC Warriors who is confident, loved, cared for and respected.

OMG!!!! I have been waiting for Slade and Jill's book since Slade first appeared in Duncan's book!!!!!! If I could give it 1,000,000,000,000+ stars I would!!!! This is my absolute favorite book in this series. It has funny moments, sad moments, happy moments, and of course STEAMY moments!!!!

I absolutely love Jill. She is the only female half-breed and she is out to be a VC Warrior. She has a lot of difficulties she faces because she has the disadvantage of being a female and this is very new to the Warriors. However, she does not back down and it just makes her work harder to show them she is just as good if not better then some of the other warriors!

"I did what I felt was right. If it was one of your Warriors with a cock-" "We wouldn't be having this conversation. Would we? No, I don't believe we would. Believe it or not Sloan, I can make snap decisions without a cock. Amazing, I know, but I can."

Yup that is Jill for you!

Slade is every girl's desire come true! He has the perfect body and not only is a warrior, he's DOCTOR too... He kept fighting his attraction towards Jill because he thought she was too young for him and his desires that he had. It was FRUSTRATING at times. Like what does he think us women are? Frail??? She had more BALLS than the other warriors! BUT I still loved Slade. He started realizing that Jill wasn't just any girl and he would not get over her. She was HIS!!!

The VC Warriors are back in this 6th installment of The Protectors Series. As one of my favorite series ever, I've been waiting for this book for ages. We met Slade in Duncan's book and fans have been crazy (Including me!) about him.

First, I want to congratulate the author, Teresa Gabelman. The Protectors Series just keeps getting better and I can't wait for the next books (I'm dying for Sloan's book!!!).

In my opinion, Slade is the strongest book in the series right now. And a very good comeback from Adam's story (the weakest for me). I love all that happened in the story. I love the side stories, a lot has happened and there's a definite shift in the subplot. Jax was so intriguing and there's a lot of promise in his book (Next book, perhaps?). I got confused about Caroline, though. In Adam's book, I thought there was something brewing between her and Sloan but apparently something changed in this book. I'm not complaining. Jax is one bad-ass hero! Almost as bad as Sloan. Lol!

Slade still has the elements I loved in the previous books. The action, heat, and of course, humor. I love the dialogues and Sid cracked me up, as usual. Never a dull moment whenever Sid's around.

I'm recommending Slade and its entire series to all romance readers; especially to the Paranormal Romance fans.

I'm always saying this on my reviews and I'm saying it again. If you haven't started The Protectors series yet, it's hightime that you do! This is one of the best series I've read and it's definitely worth your time and money.

Slade is a powerful V.C. warrior as well as a doctor. He has gotten to know a half breed vampire named Jill as she trained to become the V.C.'s first female warrior. There are no doubts about the attraction between them, but acting on it is a whole other matter. If Slade claims the one woman he truly wants it could ruin them both.

The mysterious Slade Buchanan caught my attention as soon as he arrived at the V.C. compound. He is alpha through and through. His strength and intelligence do not go unnoticed either. I love how his possessiveness comes to the front anywhere Jill is concerned. Jill is a perfect heroine. She has overcome all odds on her way to become a warrior. She has a strong will and a sharp tongue. I also need to add that the way she affects Slade without even trying is highly entertaining.

I have followed The Protectors series from the beginning, and I have really enjoyed watching Gabelman grow as a writer. Her passionate and action packed storylines are not ones that you want to miss out on. She writes in a way that makes you feel like you have built a personal relationship with the warriors and their mates. Slade is fast paced and exciting just like I expected it to be. It was a joy getting reacquainted with the other warriors as well.

If you haven't read The Protectors yet it is time for you to fall head over heels for these sexy vampire warriors! It is my personal hope that Gabelman brings us Sloan's story. I am very curious to learn about the hard ass that keeps these warriors in line!

Did not disappoint!

4 1/2-5 stars. This is one of those sequels I am so excited about. I read every book of this series, and loved (almost) all of them. In this edition, we get not one, but two reoccurring characters. I can't even begin to guess how many times I am disappointed in a book when I don't care how the author portrays a character I have grown to know over a few previous books in their own story (don't you hate it when everyone doesn't think just like you :) ). That was not the case here. I pretty much got what I expected--and was hoping for. Good, strong characters--all around. Tender moments, angsty moments, a little comic relief, lots of action, and steamy intimate scenes. Even though the couple is different in each book, it really helps to have read the previous books to fully understand the ongoing plot line.

I did have a couple minor issues. I REALLY wish more was said about the h's family, the drama there, and why her mother feels that way about her. I felt it left too many unanswered questions. Also, the romantic side at the end seemed a bit rushed for me. It seemed there was all this buildup, and then they were like an old married couple. Still loved it.

I finally got my Slade...

I have been really excited to read this installment for ages. Slade has always been my favourite Warrior and this story didn't disappoint.

Jill is a halfbreed who was taken in by the warriors to begin training to be one of them. She was disowned by her parents when she was made a halfbreed and was treated badly by people in her town. The other halfbreeds Adam, Steve and Dillon with the warriors and their mates are her new family.

Dr Slade Buchanan is a warrior on a mission. His job is to try and find out how halfbreeds are being created and how to stop it. He moves into the compound, meets Jill and feels an instant attraction. He doesn't want the distraction and puts her off. This installment is where it all comes to a head. They both can't fight their feelings anymore.

Lots of action and challenges for our couple and friends with the crazy bit*h Alice playing a major role.

I really enjoyed Slade's and Jill's story. This couple had great chemistry with some great laughs as well. Can't wait to read more in this series.

First let me say, this is my favorite book of the series so far. I loved Slade from the beginning and I came to love Jill more recently, but the combination of the two was amazing. We have all the same characters as before and they all mesh together in a combination that is both hot and hilarious.
This story starts out with Jill and Slade avoiding each other while coming closer at the same time, and I love the fact that the hot sexy scenes did not take too long because we all knew it was going to happen. There is a traitor in the VC council, no one knows who it is, but the warriors are bound to find out and they need Jill to go undercover, the scene where they discuss this is one of the most hilarious scenes in the book, I was laughing so hard I was crying.
Gabelman is one of those authors you love to read because you feel so much better after her books are read. Her characters are very well developed, the world she has created is fascinating, and while there are no real cliffhangers, you are still left eagerly awaiting the next book. I highly recommend the Protectors series and especially this book to EVERYONE!

Each book in this series gets better and better I thought Sid was my favorite but Slade has just passed him in the rankings. Slade that boy's wanders on Jill a lot, "okay, that was a effing lie. He'd give his left nut to see her before him completely naked." He has issues with his body parts when it comes to Jill, "once she turned, he adjusted his jeans; his d*** didn't get the memo from his brain about not being interested." He always keeps his gun in range for when things get interrupted, "Slade shielded Jill as he grabbed for his gun he had within reach. Turning he aimed it right between Sid's eyes. "Get the eff out of here." Slade roared his rage at being interrupted." A drunk Jill makes for a fun time for Slade, "looking up at Slade, she smiled. "You are a hot-a** man, you know that, Doctor Slade Buchanan. How about me and you forget about all this nonsense and -" Slade once the word is about him and Jill he has no issues showing PDA, "Slade smacked her a** making her yelp. "You could never be a pain in my a**." I can't wait for the next book in this series.

I need more!!!!

Holy Hotties! That teaser you gave us about Slades shirt from the cover was so f'ing HOT, HOT, HOT!!!! Teresa Gablemans books and this series is my absolute all time new favorite. If you haven't already read book 1 (Damon) WHAT ARE WAITING FOR? I've been caught up in this series from book 1 (which I just happened to find last week), and haven't been able to put this down. Now I have no choice as I (like the rest of us) IMPATIENTLY wait for the next book. I almost wish I hadn't yet found the series until every book was already published. I also can't wait for Teresa to make it cookbook big that her only job (besides wife & mother of course) is her writing and only her writing. Watch this author with bated breath as she WILL be the next BIG AWARD WINNING author of our time.
This series is action packed with so much intensity and emotion, and the sexiest, hottest scenes a woman could ask for.
I'm salivating for the next book in this series. PLEASE DON'T KEEP US WAITING TOO LONG AS I'LL LIKELY JUST DIE.

I have absolutely loved all of the Protector books. The only thing that I don't like are the endings. I never want the story to end. I want to know about all of the Protectors. I like how Teresa just continues from one story to the next. There is a little romance, a little comedy, and some thrilling events that make you just want to fly through the book. I think I read this story in about 2 days. I just got into it and didn't want to put the story down. This story mostly revolves around Slade (Dr. Slade Buchannon)- Vampire and Jill- half vampire/half human. They have this thing between them that is making them both think but they don't want to take that next step. Then you throw in the evil vampire Alice who wants to ruin the warriors, the upcoming test that the half-breeds have to go through in order to become warriors, and figuring out how to fix all of the bad that is going on. You will definitely love this book. It is even better if you read books 1-5 first.

I looked forward to this book even more than all the rest of them. I was not disappointed...I loved Slade from the beginning and now I will love him always. Teresa Gabelman has created a group of warriors who are badass to the bone and each have a story behind them which makes them so human. I don't give away spoilers because I don't like them. This book brought about a variety of emotions which is what I look for in a good book. I fell right into the VC Warrior world and did not want to come out. I did not want the story to be over. I look forward to the next book with bated breath knowing another fantastic character's story will play out in front of my eyes and I will again get lost in their world. If you have not read this series, don't hesitate any longer. It is all well worth the read.

I just have to start off saying that i love this series and the anticipation of this book was driving me crazy. Since Slade walked onto the scene i have been dying to get to his and Jill's story. And i have to say the loss of sleep was so worth it this book was amazing Teresa did such and amazing job with their story. There were some times that i wanted to slap dr. Mc hottie..but he made up for it. And all of the other Favorites are right in the mix of the story so if you need a fix of one of the other Warriors you will get it. It was action packed and so funny i had to remind myself i was reading while others were sleeping..lol but seriously this book was amazing Jill and Slade have been my Favorite so far and i can only imagine them getting better.. Well done on another amazing book Teresa i cant wait to see what else you have in store of us and our hot warriors!!!
