The Croydon Cat Killer tells the fictitious story of the cat mutilations that have been occurring in and around South London since 2016. The main antagonist John Peters has been recruited by a Satanic Cabal known as The Friends of Wyrmley who require him to eliminate the feline population of London. The story deals with his inner conflict as a psychopath and his desire to live a normal life. The Cat Mutilations are being investigated by The Metropolitan Police who are bungling the investigation. The main protagonist, PC Philip Carr is a biracial officer who is facing an uphill battle against police racism and corruption. Senior officers have also been recruited into The Friends Cabal , and a powerful supernatural force is preventing him from uncovering the truth and fulfilling his destiny.
Presented in a podcast type format, this book at first was intriguing and involving. Unfortunately, it later be able more of a bio about the disintegration of one particular woman. No idea if this is, indeed, the genuine reportage/ true crime it purports to be: I live in England, growing up not many miles (though many years now) from Croydon, lived for a while in Brighton, but have never heard of the cat killer before this.A
Quite interesting but too much attempted drama, some repetition and too long for what it is.
This book was so bad. Besides the TONS and TONS of typos, misspelled words, there were sentences with words left out so that the sentence wasn’t even complete. Each page had the sentences not only double spaced, but triple spaced on some pages for no reason. The story didn’t even make sense and was just so terrible. If I hadn’t only had this book with me on a long flight for reading material, I would have immediately stopped reading after chapter one. I haven’t read a bad story like this in decades and don’t recommend it.
