4.5⭐️l knew I was in for a fucking treat when the FMC was shaping up to be more unhinged than the MMC who is a literal arch demon😂😂 if there’s one thing I love it is a stabby FMC on a revenge tour.
I was hooked from gate, this was such a fun Novella with such an unhinged spin on Christmas mixed with the underworld. I LOVED the premise and the plot of the story.
And I was also a huge fan of Nik and his 😈 tongue. I just fucking love Demon smut, and this was mixed with Christmas smut?!? Like what a combo. The spice was perfect.
I was fully sat the last hour of this, I was so intrigued by how everything was gonna tie together, and I loved the way it ended. If you’re looking for a good time this holiday season and you’re a fan of unhinged main characters, and some demon smut you’re gonna eat this up!

This book sucked me in and kept my interest the entire time. This seasonal stabby smut was the perfect intro to the holiday season. I devoured it and have never been so grateful and honored to get an ARC copy in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.
PROS
It was so insanely well written. Nova is an insanely talented and descriptive author. Anything else she’s written I’m going to add to my TBR the second I finish this review.
The plot was well paced and addicting. There’s a real story here and as it unfolds it’ll have you giggling and clenching your thighs shut and also truly experiencing the emotions the characters are feeling. I wanted to stab a few folks myself TBH.
The spice was spiiiicy. 🔥 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
The FMC is a completely unhinged, lovable, totally psycho trauma survivor on a mission for vengeance. And she freaking deserves what she seeks for what she’s endured!
The MMC is a hot demon who has never really given a damn about anyone until Cherise. He falls first, and he falls hard. I’m ashamed to admit how much I love him.
CONS
It’s less than 200 pages. I could’ve read 200 more of this cast.
The FMC gave me Sibby vibes (for the fans of hd Carlton). It was really fun being a passenger as her memories came back to her and as she went on a warpath to punish those who wronged her. Her personality was completely hilarious.
If this doesn’t make your heart grow three size’s like the Grinch’s did then you are one billion person getting coal in your stocking:

Who doesn’t long for a demon for Christmas? If you answer ‘not me’ to this question, you really need to read this story 🤭
Distracting you from the obvious reason for this, the story takes us along with our FMC on a sleigh ride to hell, no, not really or does it? She is seeking revenge on those that abused her, physically, mentally and emotionally. Her memories are lost to everything other than this, hair dyed red and white to emanate candy canes, her clothing to suit and her trusty blade all make up her uniform of retribution.
What she doesn’t expect is a handsome man taking an interest in her, she can’t let this dissuade her and pushes him away until the first part of her plan has been carried out. The second part turns out to be a lot harder than she anticipated (in more ways than one 🫦) I would tell you more but that would be giving too much away.
Suffice to say, this dark supernatural tale leads us through a tumultuous set of unearthing deep secrets and intriguing revelations. It’s one of those reads that draws you in and keeps you there. There is deleting, g0re, spice, demon dong 😈, revenge, SA, violence, please read the trigger warnings. I may have tittered like a 1800’s lady a few times too.

Holy Chris Kringle! 😈🎅🏻 Nova has gone above and beyond once AGAIN! I was drawn in and honestly didn't want to find my way out!

The dynamic between Cherise and The Saint seems especially promising. The Saint’s fascination with Cherise’s “sweetly wicked” soul hints at an unnerving, possibly seductive tension, which could elevate the stakes.

This is best dark Christmas novella I have ever read the darkness, the trauma the allure of nik and Cherise. The giggles of Cherise had me giggling as well her obsession with candy cause girl same .
The justice she took on bad men was top tier and don't get started on nik that demon I need me some nik

I was completely captivated from the very beginning. Each character's development was beautifully crafted throughout the story. I absolutely adored the balance between the darker themes and the spicy, steamy scenes. The plot twists added an extra layer of depth, making it impossible to put the book down.

Before you even think about reading this book, please please look at the trigger warnings. This book dives into some dark and traumatic issues that the reader needs to be aware of. I am just a little crazy, so the bigger the trigger list the more excited I get to read it!
Sugar and Sin is a dark and spicy paranormal Christmas novella about a girl on a mission driven by revenge. She is on the hunt for evil ole Saint Nik and I'm not talking about Santa Claus, do you hear me?!
I am a demon girlie; that is honestly my favored monster trope, so I was really excited about this book. We start off with the main female character acting straight unhinged, and super stabby, and honestly, I'm here for it. We love a psychotic female, especially one fueled by revenge.
We also got a dual POV with our main characters, which was amazing. I will say that even though I love crazy female characters, I had a hard time connecting to her character, but our main male (or should I say demon) character, I loved him, and I instantly felt a connection!
Was I maybe just being a hater and feeling a slight jealousy towards the female character that a demon who never loved anyone, or never felt a hint of care for a human instantly did for her?! That is a huge possibility but one I'll never admit to so…
With that being said, this is a novella so if you are an “I need chemistry among the characters” type person, you won't find that in this book. It was an “I'm obsessed with you at first sight” type of dark romance. Which I FULLY SUPPORT, because love bombing doesn't exist in my delulu mind, ok?
So to the point of my ramblings, overall, if we didn't get the dual POV I probably would have given this book 3.5 stars just because I didn't vibe fully with our main girl, but the way the author wrote our delicious demon boy, it's a 4-star for me with a 5-star chili pepper because Lawd have mercy it had me physically sweating at moments. One of my new favorite demon books!

Cherise is absolutely UNHINGED. Everything about this book was pretty unhinged actually.
Cherise (FMC) really gave me Harlequin vibes. She’s passionate, energetic, and determined AF. I will say she’s a bit childish, but I still enjoyed her character.
Niklaus (MMC) is sort of a mix of golden retriever, alpha roll, touch her and die. He is pretty funny and the banter alone made the book for me.
This book is dark with lots of gory scenes. I love all things gore and have zero triggers and even still there were a few scenes where my face physically grimaced. 😅
There is also a lot of spice throughout the book.
Some things just didn’t add up and I felt like I was left hanging a few times wondering certain things. However, it is a novella and there was a lot of stuff fit into a shorter book. I think it could have had more depth if it was a full length book.
Overall I would recommend to someone looking for a fantasy/paranormal-horror themed book with lots of gore and lots of spice.

Oh I’m obsessed and my soul is on fire! I refused to put this down from the second I had picked it up! My head is still reeling from everything that happened! Sugar & Sin was a spicy, dark, unique, and twisted version of a Christmas tale. I never could guess what was about to happen next which kept me on my toes throughout the whole book. Sugar & Sin comes with not only a deliciously devilish demon of a MMC. But also comes with a fierce FMC who is hell bent on taking her revenge! If it was possible to give this more than 5 stars I have not a single doubt in my mind that I would have given it more!

This book was amazing! I love a good paranormal demon story and this one did not disappoint in the slightest bit. The FMC and MMC were so perfect together and their spicy scenes were off the charts 🥵🥵🥵

From the moment Cherise Bates entered my life sucking on her lollipop I knew I was in for something spectacular. This FMC was unhinged in the best way, and our demon prince MMC was the perfect pairing with her brand of insanity.
This story just got better and better with every turn of the page and took me on the best ride! I’ve never read anything like it ( I’m definitely NOT a dark romance girlie). But, this story was so much fun I couldn’t get enough! I just wanted to continue reading about Cherise and Niklaus!

I absolutely loved this holiday themed dark paranormal romance story. Niklaus has some interesting uses for candy canes and a forked tongue that stretches. His lady of interest has a fascination with all things sweet and sinful. Perfect dark holiday read ❤️🤍

I mean...getting a demon, and Lucifer's right hand man, as your fated mate is not such a bad Christmas gift after all.
The FMC is out for bløød in this book, specifically for the people who hurt her in her past, but she also will take out anyone who either gets in her way, or isn't exactly a stand up citizen. The Saint, or Nik, also goes around Christmas time, marking those for death who have near black souls. When he meets the FMC, he instantly is attracted to her, and becomes a love sick puppy, who is just as confused as she is, as to why he all the sudden started stalking her.
It was entertaining getting to see just how he changed his whole self to get her to give him a chance. He had no clue what was happening to him, and she was trying to keep him out of her way of revenge. The FMC also could not remember much of her past, but the abuse she suffered as a child, so part of the mystery was trying to figure out who she really was. If you think a demon can be unhinged, the FMC takes that to a whole new level.
I love some good demon şmüt, and this definitely delivered! Also, candy canes is a big theme in this book, so you may start to picture candy differently after.
Definitely worth the paranormal read for this holiday season!

I mean...getting a demon, and Lucifer's right hand man, as your fated mate is not such a bad Christmas gift after all.
The FMC is out for bløød in this book, specifically for the people who hurt her in her past, but she also will take out anyone who either gets in her way, or isn't exactly a stand up citizen. The Saint, or Nik, also goes around Christmas time, marking those for death who have near black souls. When he meets the FMC, he instantly is attracted to her, and becomes a love sick puppy, who is just as confused as she is, as to why he all the sudden started stalking her.
It was entertaining getting to see just how he changed his whole self to get her to give him a chance. He had no clue what was happening to him, and she was trying to keep him out of her way of revenge. The FMC also could not remember much of her past, but the abuse she suffered as a child, so part of the mystery was trying to figure out who she really was. If you think a demon can be unhinged, the FMC takes that to a whole new level.
I love some good demon şmüt, and this definitely delivered! Also, candy canes is a big theme in this book, so you may start to picture candy differently after.
Definitely worth the paranormal read for this holiday season!

A girl with a tragic past, seeks revenge on people who have hurt her. Christmas was something to be feared, Santa wasn't as he seemed and also had a plot kind of like Dead note if I may say.
I highly enjoyed this read! it's actually everything I look for in a book! also the best time to read it, as it's a Christmas book. I Love anything mythological or whatever. saints and demons fall under.

I loved this novella so freaking much Cherise and Nik were such an explosive couple. I really enjoyed that the book didn’t end when she finds out what really happened to her family that she continues to be able to get her revenge and have the man. I loved their spice scene especially with him being a demon. This novella was the perfect spicy Christmas read!!!

Best dark romance christmas I have EVER read. Do you like Sibby? You will LOVE this. The mfc is like her but BETTER. This book has demons and some very interesting ways to use candycanes so have that in mind and check the trigger warnings! I rated this book a 5. I cannot wait to own this in a physical copy! This book will be released December 5th!

this was definitely something. i went in blind, really not expecting to love it, but boyyy did i enjoy the hell out of this.
cherise doesn’t remember her past, only that a demon, the saint as he is known, murdered her family, and stole christmas from the entire world. on his journey to mark souls for death, the saint notices that cherise’s soul cannot be marked for reasons unbeknownst to him, and when he finally finds out, the answers to his questions bring him to his knees for death herself, adorned with a candy cane patterned scythe.
this was crazy, dark, smutty, and full of the type of rage only one other character could compete with. cherise bates is so incredibly sibby (satan’s affair by hd carlton) coded that they’d probably be best friends if they ever met.

Omg this book ... It made me laugh, it surprised me, it made me rage and it made me go what the heck just happened.. A wild rollercoaster of emotions, but such a fun ride! The spice, the blood and the carnage was just wonderful. I had my suspicions, but I still was not prepared for the ending.
Cherise- 10 years ago my whole world was destroyed. The Saint murdered my family. I got dumped in a hellhole, used and abused. I survived though and now I hunt those who hurt me and those who do evil things in the dark. My only friend is someone that only I can see. I may be a little peculiar, but I'M NOT CRAZY.
Niklaus Saintclair - It's almost my most favorite time of year. The time to rid the world of evil men and feast on their souls. Everything was going according to schedule until her... She smells of death and sweetness and it's the most intoxicating thing ever. I need to know more about her...
When their worlds collide, Cherise and Nik find themselves drawn to each other. A taste for blood, flesh and utter destruction. But is there something else at play they haven't considered? Will Cherise and Nik get their happy ending or will the past tear them apart?
