When he kissed her in the library, he didn’t know she was his best friend’s little sister…
Lady Tiffany Bolton, sister of the Duke of Bolton, is painfully plain and dull.
At least, that’s how her brother describes her as he bemoans the necessity of finding her a husband.
So the rakish Duke of Clarence can hardly be blamed when the pretty girl he kisses in the library turns out to be none other than Lady Tiffany herself.
Caught mid-kiss with the ugly duckling turned beautiful swan, Gregory is left with no choice but to announce their engagement and save her reputation. And if they want to keep Society off their backs, they’re going to have to convince everyone they’re deeply, madly in love.
Which shouldn’t be too hard, since Gregory can barely keep his hands off his beautiful, enchanting bride to be.
In fact, the only thing more difficult than not falling in love with his best friend’s little sister might be solving the mystery of their fathers’ murders…
Golden Angel is a USA Today best-selling author of heart and bottom warming romance.
She is happily married, old enough to know better but still too young to care, and a big fan of happily-ever-afters, strong heroes and heroines, and sizzling chemistry.
When not in front of her computer writing, she can be found sewing her next project, hanging out with friends, or wandering the grounds of the Maryland Renaissance Festival.
To make sure i’ve given both of this beauty’s covers the love the story deserves,i’m leaving my review here as well….
Remember Golden Angel’s Deception and Discipline series? Remember the seven Dukes that were killed? Golden Angel decided to share the stories of their sons, the ones that became Dukes because of that tragedie, and Gregory’s story is the first. Having read the ARC of The Duke’s Indecent Scandal,i am more than ready for the stories of his friends,i can tell you! Gregory,Sebastian,Christian,Zachary,Nathanial,Matthew and Drake not only mourned the loss of their fathers (although some more than others), they also mourned the unexpected loss of one of their friends,Sinclair. It made them even more aware that life was fragile, and they needed to ensure the future before it was too late. Drake was the only one that was already engaged, but the others knew they needed to find a wife. So,with the Season starting, they decided to look for a fitting bride. At one of those balls,Gregory took a little break from the hunt, and retreated to the library. Though he only wanted a peaceful moment,he couldn’t resist kissing the pretty girl that had the same idea. Being caught wasn’t what either planned, but they had to face the consequences….. Especially when it was revealed that the pretty girl was his best friend Sebastian’s little sister? How was that even possible….ok,it’d been years since he’d seen her,but still. According to Sebastian, she was supposed to be a plain, shy and boring little girl. Tiffany turned out to be anything but,and the better he got to know her,the more he liked the idea of marrying her. All Tiffany wanted was a moment of peace, away from the crowd, but most of all, away from her mother. It seemed she could never do anything right in her eyes, and it stung. Especially since her mother treated her brother so very differently…. She did her best to do everything the way her mother demanded, but it was never enough. The library was a peaceful place, one where she could breathe….until Gregory’s kiss took it away most thoroughly! Having to marry him sounded wonderful, she knew him to be a good and caring man….even if he wás a rake and might grow tired of her once they had children. The preparations for the wedding were a trial, though. And if she didn’t have his mother, and most unexpected,Drake’s fiancée Lady Astrid’s help,it might’ve turned out disastrous. Because her mother seemed determined to dress her as unflattering as possible, but why?? She was most lucky to have new friends in Astrid, and Zachary’s ex mistress baroness Ashfield,Delilah, that’s for sure! In the meantime,Gregory decided to share the letters he’d found, adressed to his late father, with Sebastian. They contained death threats, and he was worried it was the reason their fathers died….. Was he the only one to have letters like that? Who wrote them, and had that person been working alone? And what did it mean for Gregory and his friends? Were they in danger, and were their future brides in danger?? Gregory and Tiffany’s story was most delicious, and i loved every second…..except for the moments where her mother was abusing her, that is. He enjoyed corrupting his innocent little Swan, and she loved everything he did to her. He grew so protective of her,and i loved that side of him. He made her see how beautiful, smart and worth loving she was. Once he,his mother,Astrid and Delilah opened her eyes, she gained confidence, and blossomed. I ám still worried about the persons behind the late Dukes’ deaths, though…. Will the veil be lifted a little in Nathaniel’s story,The Duke’s Indecent Match?? I really hope so….plus,i can’t wait to hear who he ends up with! Because i have my eyes on a certain girl who’s perfect for him, even if he doesn’t think so…. Reasons I enjoyed this book:

I received this as an ARC and could not wait to read it. In fact, I read it in a single day. Golden Angel's historical romances are my favorite of hers. Actually, her historical romances are my favorite in the genre. She has an ideal balance of accurate historical details without getting too bogged down in them, making sure to keep the romance front and center.
This is the first book in a new series and is, of course, HEA. However, there is a larger mystery plot that is not resolved by the end, which will continue through the rest of the series. If you read her Deception and Discipline series, it is like that. (and if you haven't, go do that now!).
Gregory & Tiffany are a lovely couple, who, as the title suggests, begin their courtship with a scandal. I'm a sucker for a Regency(ish, this is actually post) romance where the hero & heroine have to get married to save her reputation.
And this might be a tiny bonus, but I love that Golden ignored the Tiffany problem. if you don't know, The Tiffany Problem is where a historical or realistic fact seems wrong to modern audiences of historical fiction, despite being accurate. The name Tiffany is a prime example. It was a popular name from the 1200s, deriving from an even older name, Theophania. But due to its popularity in the 80s, it seems very wrong in the 1800s.
The sex scenes are very hot. The love is sweet and natural. The friendships are endearing. And like all Golden Angel books, it isn't over until someone gets it in the butt. Go, buy, read!
This book sizzled way more than I expected — and honestly, I should’ve known better with Golden Angel 😉The Duke’s Indecent Scandal sets the stage for a brand-new series about the heirs of the Seven Dukes who died together, and Gregory, the new Duke of Clarence, is the first to claim his debutante, Tiffany. It’s a delicious brother’s best friend trope, with Sebastian playing the perfect overprotective big brother — immediately warning Gregory that Tiffany is too plain and socially awkward to be worth a second glance. What starts as a slow burn quickly gets a whole lot hotter once Gregory starts noticing Tiffany for who she really is.
Now let’s get into the real steam: holy smokes, Gregory was a surprise Dom! The “Good girl” moment in the carriage was the first sneaky hint that this wasn’t going to be a typical historical romance. Golden Angel wove in the Dom/sub dynamic so naturally that by the time Gregory and Tiffany were married, it all exploded into one wildly passionate, intense first night ,and Tiffany was all in. No easing her into kink; it was full throttle, and honestly, it worked so well for their chemistry. Their chemistry exploded off the page and made every scene between them hot, intense, and deeply emotional. Watching Tiffany bloom with confidence (both in and out of the bedroom) made the story even more satisfying …she didn’t just find love, she found herself.
One thing to note ,Tiffany’s mother is pure villain material. The emotional abuse was nasty and could definitely be a soft trigger warning for readers sensitive to toxic mother/daughter dynamics. I do wish we got more explanation about her cruelty.
The Duke’s Indecent Scandal weaves together sizzling romance, character growth, and a simmering murder mystery that leaves you desperate for the next book — a perfect kickoff to a series that’s as seductive as it is intriguing.
The first in a new series, this book includes a number of existing characters set up from previous work. Like another series by this author, it appears to be a murder mystery involving numerous deaths directed by some master plot and meant to spool out over numerous books. It's also a romance between a virgin and a rake, which is a known Regency trope. I was hoping for some major spice, but it was sadly not to be. If you're looking for that great Golden Angel super smokin' smexy times, you're about to be super disappointed.
At first, I knew I was reading a Golden Angel story because the MMC mentioned he had sone "particular proclivities." Promising!
By the time I hit around 50%, I began checking to see if this was, in fact, a GA story because nothing was happening. At all. And I do mean nothing.
GA is a good writer and typically has a noticeable, well-known style that's clear. However, this story is nothing like most of her other work. This read like a very standard Regency era romance.
The pace is suuuper sloooow. So slow, that it was boring in a great many places. I actually skipped some sections to see if anything was happening to look forward to, but nope.
The FMC, Tiffany (seriously with that name?), is a downtrodden, emotionally hammered virgin who is convinced she's dowdy and unlovable. Yawn. She's the younger sister of a main male character who will undoubtedly have his own book soon. Tiffany gets "compromised" by one of her brothers close friends who then offers marriage to avoid scandal. Another standard Regency trope.
And adding to these Regency tropes, Tiffany's mother is a horrible person who not only berates her at every possible turn, but dresses her for humiliation as well. Her supposedly loving brother Sebastian never picks up on this staggeringly apparent abuse even though he's often present for it. Very, very late in this story, he catches up to the BS and offers not only a lame apology, but a deeply unsatisfying resolution for the wicked but 2-dimensional biotch. I won't be interested in a HEA for that dude, because OMG you never figured out your mom was a terrible human to your "beloved" sister? The same sister he continually referred to as "plain" to his friends, until he realized near her wedding day was actually "very pretty?" Big nope. And all his stuttering feelings (excuses) about why said mom was so awful did not hold water of any type. Sending her to their country estate isn't comeuppance or punishment even in Regency World. So there's that.
The MMC was very standard. Rich, a rake, unwilling to love, in need of an heir and looking for a wife who won't make demands but will be faithful while he is discreet. There was no cheating but it's hard to love a character with such double standards, even in fiction.
The $ex...pretty much a snoozer compared to most other GA series. We get mostly some standard heavy petting, a little oral, a tiny bit o spankin, and finally the deal, but that's literally at around 80%+. I totally did not get that. Has GA changed gears? Did I miss a newsletter or something? Because wanting some oral and a little back door action doesn't meet my definition of "particular proclivities." Woopdidoo.
Finally, the mystery around all these deaths was barely mentioned accept during brandy consumption by the men folk. Nothing really gets solid on that. So another dead end for the most part. I suppose that's going to be dragged out through a pile of other books in this series. Blech.
I got to the end and was really confused as well as disappointed. I don't have much interest in reading any further in this series.
Yes this is Yet Another Wonderful Historical written by Golden Angel. 😇 I absolutely adore books by Golden Angel. She does Historicals very well. Also as Golden Angel 😇 is The Queen of Butt Stuff, this book of course has some really excellent butt stuff amongst the smutty scenes in the book. Also the Characters were wonderful as usual and I picked it up a few hours ago and barely stopped reading until I finished it, pretty much in one sitting.
If you like Historical Romance with smut and Butt Stuff you will love this book just like I love it 🥰 ❤️ ❤️
Great story with a marriage that starts out for appearances sake and becomes more as they spend time together. Having them work to solve their fathers’ murders just adds another dimension to it that makes it even more fun to read.
I got this as an ARC, and I am so very grateful that I did! I had so much fun reading it, and i don't know how Golden did it, but i truly hated Tiffany's mother... I could also see how so very few people, and even Tiffany herself, were taken in by her freaking toxic mother and made excuses for her.
It was a bit difficult to keep up with all the characters, especially the dukes, their Christian names and their titles, but i am sure when i will reread the finished series(hope Golden will write like the wind LOL)it will be a lot easier. I am very excited to see what will happen next.
It seemed long and slow. Nothing much happened until around 70%. I wasn’t very comfortable with the older women are jealous and mean to younger women trope.
This book was truly enjoyable and entertaining. The close relationship between all of the young Dukes makes me excited for this series to unfold as these young Dukes investigate the suspicious explosion that was responsible for killing all of their fathers and making them all of them in need of a wife and heir.
As Lady Tiffany begins her first Season as a debutante she is dealing with her mother’s bullying and her manipulative personality. During her first ball she escapes to the library for a few quiet moments and ends up being kissed and compromised by her older brother’s best friend. The subsequent plotting and planning to portray the quick engagement as a love match and then watching Gregory and Tiffany slowly fall in love is entertaining and interesting.
I was a little surprised their relationship doesn’t really heat up until the second half of the book, but the wait worth it.
This was a fun read and i am definitely interested in the next book in the series.
I received a free ARC from the author and 1852 Media; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
This first story was brilliant! At the first ball of the Season, Gregory, a known rake among his friends, needs an escape from all the debutantes and their mamas and ducks into the library. Luckily, the chair he occupies is in the shadows when his solitude is interrupted by a young couple looking for a different kind of privacy. Watching the interlude crumble and the couple leave, he chuckled, startling the young lady hiding in the shadow of the drapes. Tiffany's mother had told her how ungainly and unattractive she was her entire life. Truthfully, there wasn't much she did that her mother didn't feel the need to correct her for. She couldn't seem to hold a conversation without saying something wrong. When the crowd and her corrections became more than she could bear, Tiffany excused herself with the need to visit the restroom, only to sneak into the library. Circumstances seemed laid out for the Duke, and he couldn't resist kissing the pretty young lady standing before him. Yep, do you see it coming? An entire entourage of guests barges into the library looking for the couple that left, only to find Gregory on the floor with Tiffany on top of him. And let's add icing to this cake, shall we? Turns out she's his best friend Sebastian's sister! How is that even possible? This young woman is nothing like what Sebastian has described her to be. If you love this period with the ton, the absurdity of their rules, the sizzle of a chemistry that heats the page, and the pique of trying to solve a crime, you've got to read this one. The storyline is wonderful and promises to be a great series.
I just love Ms. Angel's Dukes and their ladies. We meet Tiffany, Sebastian's sister and Gregory!
There's more sleuthing as to what happened to these younger Duke's fathers! I don't expect we'll see the mystery solved in this book of the series. There are too many more handsome young dukes in need of wives! I'll be there for every one!
Ms. Angel always puts a smile on my face! I swoon so many times. And she has me tingly too!
You definitely want to read these stories. Though I feel like you could read them as standalones...why jip yourself. They're all so good! Start at the beginning!
Loved this!!! This was my first historical book from this author, I have read most of her other genres, and I loved it. The characters, chemistry, storyline, and world building were fantastic! There is still a mystery to solve, and I am looking forward to the next in the series. I could feel the attraction between Gregory and Tiffany, and the steamy moments were so hot!! I enjoyed most of the side characters and am interested for more of this world. Of course you need your evil doers, and you get that in spades, it gets resolved in a great way. This was a really good read, I definitely recommend, and I can't wait for the next one! I will be purchasing for my library.
I received an ARC of this book, all opinions and thoughts are my own.
This was such a great read, and it left me very excited to continue this new series. I absolutely adored Gregory and Tiffany. The attraction was potent and the burn slow but luscious. Add in a sharp and seductive blend of drama, mystery, emotion and twists and you have yourself an irresistible romance that delivers the feels and swoon and leaves you eager to dive back into this world just as soon as possible.
What I liked most about this story was that despite Gregory's off the cuff statement that Tiffany really was beautiful, it took her believing it before her family chimed in. A historical romance, slow burn but with spicy moments, brother's best friend/best friend's little sister romance. I love how Tiffany really bloomed once she found her friends and stopped being so secluded by her mother.
With the death of their respective fathers by mysterious means there are now seven reluctant dukes looking for their prospective duchesses at the debutante balls. Perhaps, Gregory, Duke of Clarence should’ve kept his mind on the task at hand instead of kissing random ladies in the library. If he had he might not have found himself forced into marriage to protect the reputation of Tiffany, his fellow Duke’s sister.
Kinky historical romance teemed with a delicious murder mystery, what was not to love about this book. I loved the development of their relationship as Gregory introduced his innocent bride to all things marital and discovered she had a taste for spanking. Their chemistry sizzled and seeing how her Duke felt about her, Tiffany blossomed under his hands, growing in confidence and beginning genuine friendships for the first time in her life. Her development was beautiful to see especially after her mistreatment at the hands of her mother and the apathy of her brother who took so little notice of her that he didn’t see what was going on under his nose. He even considered her plain. The mystery of the murders isn’t solved in this book and I’m guessing that this element will be the common thread arcing across the series. I would’ve liked more background to Tiffany’s mother’s sadistic behaviour towards her daughter, it can’t just be jealousy, she truly was a vile character. If she’d been her stepmother, that excuse might’ve made sense. Maybe when the Duke of Bolton has his story more will be explained as I’m thinking we haven’t heard the last of her.
A Golden Angel dirty historical romance. Um yes please! she has once more won me over. Not only do we get a swoon worthy male. We also get dirty smexy times with tons of spice AND a strong amazing female who can kick start the heart of her dirty rake.
Going into this book I didn't realize that it was about the newly minted dukes we learn about in her last historical romance. Once I started reading and realized what I was in for I was hooked. I immediately knew I needed the rest of this series.
Gregory the Duke of Clarence might have been a rake but he was a kind and honorable man as well. I absolutely loved watching him fall head over heels in love with Tiffany.
Tiffany had my heart. She was trying to do her best and please her mom while still being true to herself. It was a losing battle until Gregory stepped in and helped give her the life and love she needed. She gained a new loving mother-in-laws, family to dot on, and true friends. She started to shine and I couldn't stop loving her more and more. What she went through with her mom? I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I am intrigued with this new mystery and am looking forward to each new development. What exactly happened to these dukes and why? I cannot wait to read more!
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*
The beginning of a new series is always very exciting. The author has the gift to always write delightful groups of friends. And the Indecent Dukes series makes no exception. As I do not read historical romance very often, I was a bit lost at the beginning with the male characters having all sorts of names but I was soon able to recognize them all. Tiffany and Gregory's story is linked with a murder mystery that will spread over the series and I can't wait to see how everything will turn out. Nathanial seems to be the next Duke in the series and my heart hopes that he will find Miss Little good enough to marry.
Ohhhh I just loved it. I went into it thinking it would be a shorter story, no idea why but anyways, I found myself devouring this story. I felt so bad for Tiffany because she is such a sweetheart and I raged and raged until the end because of it. Good news is that she gets what she deserves and more and that made me deliriously happy. Gregory, oh the rakish duke is something. I would dare say what anyone would want in a man and more. There, I said it. I love the group of Dukes and I also love the girls' friendship. This story made me so excited.
Another great read from Golden Angel! I couldn't put it down. Gregory and Tiffany are wonderful as a couple. With them learning about each other while navigating the ton, and her mother's behaviour was thrilling enough, but to add the mystery of the dukes made it a must read.
This is a wonderful love story! The villain is the bride’s mother. Also, the Dukes get a piece of the puzzle on who killed their fathers. Definitely read this book if you like historical romance!
Definitely deeper than her normal stories. This is a fantastic period piece that shows us that love comes in many forms…… and in just the right time! Loved this series starter! And i cannot wait to see who falls next.
Oh when a young woman gets her first kiss and it was amazing just to be caught. Well that lead to marriage and a love match made in discipline heaven. What A read.
Golden Angel has done it again! Another wonderful book full of entertaining characters and an excellent plot and lots of spicy content! 🥵
This first book in the series of dukes that are newly titled after all their fathers died in a tragic accident or possibly might have been murdered. They are close friends, some friends since childhood. They are nicknamed The Tragic Dukes. They are secretly trying to discover the truth about their father’s deaths.
Gregory Clarence, Duke of Clarence is beginning his first season after the death of his father. He knows that his new title will make him a target for debutants and their mothers. His best friend is Sebastian Graham, Duke of Bolton. Sebastian tells Gregory that he will be going to some of the smaller social events before the season starts in full as his younger sister Tiffany is having her first season and as she is quite plain and quiet, Sebastian is breaking her into society slowly.
Gregory meets a lovely young lady at the first smaller ball of the season that he attended to support his friend. This young lady is very attractive and talks to him with ease. When they are caught in a compromising position alone in a room together Gregory finds out the young woman is Tiffany, Sebastian’s sister who he warned him off of. It was an innocent mistake as this young lady was the opposite of what Sebastian described his sister as.
A marriage is swiftly arranged to save her reputation and in doing so might also help Tiffany’s confidence, happiness and self worth. Gregory wants to convey that he and Tiffany are a love match instead of a marriage of convenience so they spend time together before the wedding. They both realise that they are falling in love with each other but they can’t seem to tell each other how they feel as they think the other is pretending to keep up appearances. After their wedding, Gregory realises just how compatible Tiffany is with him. There’s lots of spicy, spicy scenes in this story!
I loved Gregory’s mother and disliked Sebastian and Tiffany’s mother. I loved the friendship between the dukes and the support they give each other in their new roles. Tiffany makes some lovely new loyal friends who give her strength and confidence and it’s wonderful to see how Tiffany blossoms and the happiness she has after her betrothal to Gregory. It’s a spicy feel good love story with a secondary plot of the dukes trying to discover evidence of how the duke’s fathers died. The plot flows so well from one scene to the next and kept me reading very late into the night. I really didn’t want this story to end.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series, continuing with the love story of a new “tragic” duke. I would recommend this book and any other books by this author if you love spicy historical romance with lovable, diverse characters and a HEA.
I received a special copy of this book from the author. I’m voluntarily leaving this review.
This is the first book in a new Golden Angel historical and is a continuation, of sorts, from her previous series, Deception and Discipline. There are 6 newly-minted Dukes who are young (and many are rakes) and have been suddenly promoted because their fathers were killed in an explosion (which turns out to not be an accident). So they have to put off their rakish ways, get married, and father heirs.
This is the story of Gregory and Tiffany. "indecent scandal" comes from them getting compromised in a library at a ball. Utterly classic Regency Romance trope.

1. The author handles the sudden flurry of names and personalities at the beginning well. That can be daunting for the reader of this kind of book when it is first in a series with a bunch of friends (either fellow dukes or friends at a BDSM club or members of a team of operatives) who all get dropped in at once.
2. For good reason (marrying a virgin debutante, after all), the level of overt sex is wildly varied. Longing and a kiss on the wrist and maybe a stolen kiss or two for 2/3 of the book and then mostly sex for the last third. Whee!
3. A lot of the specific descriptions in this book are not in my interest set, but I am not going to ding a book because of that. If I can enjoy a set of harem books featuring shifter girls who street race then I can enjoy a book with a LOT of emphasis on ballgowns and trim.
4. There is an overarching mystery in the series (Who bumped off the fathers and why?), but (as expected) we only get the first increment here.
5. The main plot driver in this book is "Why is Tiffany's mother so damn terrible?". She gets her comeuppance, but I think the explanation was quite weak. I almost dropped a star for "Is that all???".
Anyways, the characters were great. Gregory's growth into becoming a man instead of a rake was absolutely great. His mother is a gem. Tiffany's new friends (who rescued her from many situations) are wonderful.
Anyways, a very enjoyable book and I am looking forward to Nathanial's story.
'The Duke's Indecent Scandal' is the first book in Golden Angel's newest series, "Indecent Dukes". If you're a fan of Golden Angel's, you'll remember her "Deception and Discipline" series, where seven Dukes were killed at once. Gregory, Sebastian, Christian, Zachary, Nathanial, Matthew, and Drake not only mourned the loss of their fathers (although some more than others) but also the unexpected loss of Sinclair, one of their friends. So now not only do they each need to find a bride and produce an heir, but it's come to light that their fathers may have been murdered. Discrete sleuthing within the ton and out of the servants' hearing will take its toll. Title: The Duke’s Indecent Scandal Author: Golden Angel
My fellow readers you will love this book. I just know you will. Gregory, whose the Duke of Clarence helps makes this book extra special in the romance department and flaming hot in the the steamy section. Let’s just that this Duke knows how to take care of his woman. Lady Tiffany Bolton is just that woman. Lady Tiffany reminds me of a young teenager from the Eighties who’s rebelling from her parents. So after dinner, she returns to her room, slips out of her day dress and Mary Jane shoes. She swiftly puts on her latest design pair of jeans and T-shirt. Tiffany takes one last look in the mirror as she smacks her chewing gum. She fluffs her hair couple of times, grabs her purse, raises the bedroom window next to her dressing table and out the window she goes. Lady Tiffany is amazing readers. You will lover her. The plot is excellent. I completely agree that it adapts with the characters perplexing issues and challenges that they must prevail. The characters are all fascinating. They work in tandem to the main characters objectives. The narrative is clear and precise. I understood what the writer wanted to convey to their readers. The romance was solid and so real that it almost maid the hairs on my arms stand up. Like I said before. That Duke is a master at what he does. I enjoyed the story immensely. I look forward to the next read. I give this book two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on!
