"Loving someone and caring for them doesn't require erasing yourself in the process."
On the sun-drenched shores of Florida's Captiva Island, Maggie Moretti's Key Lime Garden Inn has become a sanctuary for those seeking a fresh start.
When Merritt Ryan arrives with a guitar case and a heart heavy with secrets—a canceled wedding and a terminally ill mother back in Maine, she never expects to find healing among the island's gentle rhythms and open-hearted residents.
Lauren and her family finally move to Florida, but not without internal struggles that threaten her relationship with Maggie.
Meanwhile, the construction of the Captiva Café brings unexpected discoveries for co-owners Isabelle and Gretchen, as archaeological finds beneath the floorboards create both complications and connections.
As their paths intertwine with Maggie's YouTube-famous mother, a reluctantly romantic newspaper editor, and a community that embraces second chances, these women discover that life's most meaningful journeys often begin when carefully laid plans fall apart.
Captiva Café is a heartwarming story about the courage to choose yourself, the healing power of community, and the endless possibility of beginning again—at any age.

Annie Cabot I totally love this Captiva Island series. This story has the best characters and story line. I have read every book in this series and I sure hope there are more coming. I would love to see Beth.s twins in your next book and also Lauren’s mending her feelings.
WOW! The excitement & great happenings continue on Captiva Island. All the dear friends we have come to know and love in the last fifteen books by Annie Cabot are included in Captiva Cafe. Captiva Cafe is the brain child of Isabella, who after Stephan's death was at loose ends. Chelsea's sister, Gretchen a free spirit who couldn't seem to find her place in life after moving to Florida. To everyone's surprise, Gretchen and Isabella decided to open a cafe to combine their skills and passions. Maggie's mother, Sarah never slows down. Her new passion is blogging about her life as a senior wandering the roads giving advice from her camper, and has become an overnight sensation. Grandma Sarah often talks about the wonderful inn Maggie and Paulo run on Captiva Island. This has brought a completely full inn and many headaches along the way. Surprises are the discovered that put a halt to the work at the cafe. New travelers at the inn bring out Maggie's mothering side. Lauren and family moved to Florida which has brought up unforeseen problems. The Captiva Island series is like getting a written letter from your best friend updating you on what has been happening since you last talked. It is such a wonderful story of resilience, friendship, problems along the way, but all pointing to love between family & friends. This is an excellent series, you just don't want to miss!!
Another delightful book in this series. A lot of family stories wrapped up and new ones started.
Can,t wait for the next one but I,ll have to wait until next year - January or February.
Amazon synopsis: With new residents influencing local businesses, Chelsea's sister, Gretchen, is finding her way without a road map. To say she's testing Chelsea's patience is an understatement.
Sebastian Barlowe's health proves overwhelming for his wife, Isabelle, and so, she seeks guidance from Maggie and Chelsea.
At the same time, things are progressing in Massachusetts.
Beth and Gabriel struggle to meet the demands of the new apple orchard business, and it puts a strain on their marriage.
Becca is due to give birth any day, and a last minute health complication terrifies everyone.
An announcement from Lauren and Jeff stuns the entire family.
Reading about Captiva and Maggie's family and friends is usually a feel good book. There's always some family drama to be resolved and new people to learn about. I have an issue with this book because Maggie had a feeling that her daughter Lauren was struggling. This feeling was mentioned several times throughout the story and then boom Grandma Sarah shows up and tells Maggie that she's missed something unsettling going on with Lauren, Now it's treated like Maggie had NO idea, no feeling that Lauren was struggling. Why? Who edited this book? It just makes me sad that these series all seem to be using a template and plugging in new topic points to create the next book. Very disappointing.
As with all of the previous Captiva books, I am impressed how Annie Cabot weaves real life issues into her characters. Lauren and Maggie finding their way through a rough patch, trying to adjust to Grandma Sarah's new lifestyle and the obstacles of starting a new business. I truly enjoyed seeing Isabelle and Gretchen is business relationship blossom. I'm also relieved to hear Merrit's story and hope to read more about her in future books.
Enjoy the light, quick read. Each book I have found a quote or two that made me think
However in this book I found Lauren too whiny
Also the whole Cafe was very unrealistic. The woman knew nothing about running a business….were depending on their friends to do all the work, while they greeted customers
I just loved this main story. Isabelle and Gretchen realizing their dream with a historical twist. Maggie an Chelsea up to no good and Grandma Sara a Hoot! Again Annie leaves us bewildered and satisfied with all of lives lessons. Writing is beautiful and entertaining leaving you wanting more!
Another Great Chapter in the Captiva Island Series
I love the introduction of the new characters, and cannot wait for more of Merritt and Cara! My only downside is now I’ve caught up and need to wait for each new book! First world problems! Thanks!
Maggie's thoughts and guilt for what she does or doesn't do for her children hits home. She handles it so well. I wish I could be more like Maggie. I just love her mother. I hope the books will continue until all her children are in Florida!
Another great book by Annie. Her stories make me smile and tear up at the same time. I can picture all these wonderful people and I can connect with some of them in my life. I hope there will be a 17 th book.
Absolutely love this series. Can't wait for next adventure. I felt so many emotions tears, laughter, and so much love through this book. Thank you and this series is definitely a must read.
just like all of her books. You want to have the time to read all of them,
Enjoyed the opening of the coffee house, I feel like I know everyone in Maggie’s family. Her friend is a good friend. Chelsea has a great personality and she makes the book,.
Liked the book but maybe not as much as the previous books. It seemed to be lacking something though I can't pinpoint exactly what. I hope there is a sequel.
