Followed Zandra through her early years, moderately interesting, but, I felt a bit slapdash. The first page showed an example where she says her mother walked to hospital for Zandra’s birth with doodlebugs flying overhead. They didn’t appear to much later in the war.

Once she achieves success in New York there are the loud thumps as names get dropped, unfortunately it’s not my world, so they become meaningless.

A book club choice, definitively not one that I would have chosen.
