EXTREMIST: A Response to Geert Wilders & Terrorists Everywhere

Rate this book
Terrorists and anti-Islam extremists are both wrong about Islam. Qasim Rashid proves just that in EXTREMIST: A Response to Geert Wilders & Terrorists Everywhere. Rashid debunks extremists head-on, clarifying important issues like Islam's view on free speech, women's rights, and Jihad--among many more. He writes for non-Muslims and Muslims alike, asking you to stand for a narrative of moderation, civility, and compassion--and against the extremist narratives of Geert Wilders and all terrorists. Rashid empowers you with a tool extremists don't have--knowledge of Islam, and asks you to join the fight for tolerance.

Received this book as part of Good Reads First Reads Program. Yann Martel the author Life of Pi has said a beautiful thing about Islam:
“I challenge anyone to understand Islam, its spirit, and not to love it. It is a beautiful religion of brotherhood and devotion.”
Logically speaking, the author has done a great job in delivering this book.
A Dutch politician has remarked very poorly about the religion Islam and this author has factually, skillfully, smartly and logically countered what this man has said about Islam!
It was a unique read for me!

First Reads winner.
This book is a response to Geert Wilders , a Dutch politician , and his allegations against Islam .Qasim Rashid, the author
refutes every accusation made by Wilders in a very concise orderly fashion which is broken down into three parts. The first part states the allegation. Second tells the source Wilders cites to support the allegation. Third part the author responds to the allegation with a detailed examination and invalidates the allegation. The book clarifies a lot of fallacies. It is a very needed comprehensive in-depth study that examines misconceptions. Rashid discredits those extremists who claim openly but falsely that Islam teaches violence and he does so with wisdom and understanding . He substantiates with reason and detail that Islam is in fact a religion of acceptance, compassion, moderation, restraint, tolerance and a concern for the sufferings and misfortunes of others. This thought provoking book has the ability to alter judgements and is worthy of attention.

This highly detailed and comprehensive treatise debunks the lies that right wing extremists such as Geert Wilders use to slander Muslims. I highly recommend this book to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
