This is a very informative book, even for someone who has a broadly Christian background. There is lots of detail about belief and practice - about the different 'flavours' of Christianity, and much else.

However, it is pretty dry and I struggled to finish it. Also, potential readers should be aware that this is not a wholly objective description of Christianity - indeed, the author often uses the pages to evangelise; something that I could have happily done without.
