Over a decade ago, I aimed too high when I fell for my brother’s best friend. So I settled for someone else. And then got dumped. And now I’m dangling from a fence waiting for my dream guy to rescue me. Yes, it’s all connected. And yes, it all started with a stupid game of Never Have I Ever. And yes, I’m too old for that game. But then Hunter saves me, sweeps me off of my feet, and announces he’s staying overnight to make sure I don’t have a concussion. It’ll be fine. I’m the good girl. Until he kisses me.
Hunter
I’ve always loved her. But I can’t have her because she’s got a boyfriend. Yup. She is completely off limits. But tell that to my heart. And other body parts. I’ve been aching for her for a decade. And in this small town it’s hard not to run into my best friend’s sister.
Then she calls me one night because—get this—she’s stuck in a fence.
I’m there in a heartbeat, and I’ll use any excuse to be near her. Now that she’s in my arms, it’s hard to let go. But when she tells me she’s single? Oh man, all bets are off. I’m in, and I’m about to make the most of this one night with her. And that means showing her that even good girls can get a little dirty.

Welcome to the irresistibly quaint town of Lit Creek where the men are hot and the love is big. Loyal and protective, these men fall hard and fast.
This cozy little town has got the cinnamon rolls you need to make you sigh deeply in appreciation of some good buns. You know what I’m talking about!

Instalove, romcom, no cheating, and (some might say) over the top HEAs guaranteed. Standalone steamy romance book.
This was a really quick, and cute read. I wished that it went more in depth with the characters, because these characters are intriguing, and I was left wanting more. All in all a really good read. I can't wait for more!
This book was super cute (and super short). The characters were precious and definitely got their HEA. I would love a full length novel just to have more of them (and their cute family and town and allllllllll of it!). Welcome to the Lit world. Stay a while :).
This book was both charming and humorous, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent with Sierra and Hunter. Their playful banter and the lingering chemistry from their past made their dynamic truly engaging. I’ll definitely miss these two, but I’m excited to dive into Josh’s story next.
- love this "Welcome to the irresistibly quaint town of Lit Creek where the men are hot and the love is big. Loyal and protective, these men fall hard and fast. Two nights out of every week. Slammed back three cinnamon sweet lattes in one day from the local cafe, Espresso Yourself? Damn straight. Hid the last four snickerdoodle cookies from her brother so he couldn’t have anymore? Yeah, that was me. Huffs on knuckles. Polishes badge. Okay, yes, I admit to sharing the last one with him. I couldn’t bear to hear his crying. God, I’m not the devil in a dress. But ya. I’m badass like that. I know. Not everyone can live up to this kind of badassery. It’s a calling." - Love how she runs her own bakery - and you meet Hunter who is a fire fighter ...... 🔥 - i love Hunter nickname for Sierra "sweets" - Hunter finally get his chance to be with Sierra and its soo perfect and adorable their relationship is - it was literally soo adorable how Hunter proposed to Sierra - I love the ending it was soo perfect ! I wanna read the rest of the series
This is what I get for getting the free books on stuff your kindle day 🙄🫠 no plot, random trauma dump that never gets explained from the MMC, a weird FMC that I think was meant to be quirky but just came off as stupid, and a jump from no romantic tension to a full-blown cringy sex scene. Wish I could rate this 0 stars
This was such a great Rom Com read. I read it during a relaxing bath, and it was perfect! Hunter and Sierra were so cute. Hunter was the epitome of cinnamon roll. Sierra was a “good girl” that felt she missed out on taking risks. When she finally takes a risk (that backfires), she is thrust into Hunter’s arms, and sparks fly. It’s really sweet and swoony. A great little read to have a fun a flirty time.
Quick and easy read. Even with this being short it still had all the elements. Fun, witty banter and spice! I loved reading about Hunter and Sierra! Excited to read about Hunters brothers. I do wish I could’ve got to know the characters a little more, I just wanted to read more about them lol Ms. Lana maybe your next series could be about whatever children might come from all of these romances 🤔 just think about it! Full length novels about the kids antics! Great short read and I would definitely recommend 💜
This was a great easy quick read. Sometime you want the romantic story but don’t have a lot of time. This is a great story for you. It was quick, sweet, spicy romantic short story. I would definitely read more stories by this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via Voracious Readers Only
This is a super cute story, that is also super short. The characters are great and Lit Creek seems to be a very quirky town full of quirky people and I look forward to meeting more of them and learning more about them in future books.
Hunter & Sierra’s story is a super short novella with all the brother’s best friend vibes.
Stars: 4/5 Spice: 2/5
This may be the shortest novella I’ve ever read, so I struggled to adjust to the pacing of the story. But – brother’s best friend, second chance, and a cinnamon roll MMC? Yes please! The story opens with Sierra being caught in a hilarious situation, and the only person available to help is Hunter. It was a sweet and spicy story with “it’s always been you” vibes, and I just love that every time. If you love brother’s best friend, second chance, a little bit of spice – and you don’t mind a super short novella – give this one a try!
I received an ARC copy of the book and all thoughts are my own.
Sierra fell for my brother’s best friend over a decade ago but they were just friends so she settled for someone else then got dumped. Sierra had never done anything remotely illegal but she plays Never Have I Ever & tries to sneak into a concert, even though she has a ticket! & finds herself dangling from a fence. She bestie is on a trip so Sierra calls Hunter who saves her, sweeps her off of her feet, and announces he’s staying overnight to make sure she don’t have a concussion. Hunter’s always loved Sierra. But she is completely off limits. Until she says she’s single A quick delightful novella. I devoured it in a sitting, I really liked both Hunter & Sierra & loved how their secrets came out & they finally found each other. A lovely mix of humour & romance, it made me sigh & smile
Sierra has had a crush on Hunter for years. He is her brother's best friend so she thinks he is off limits and would never be interested in her. She doesn't know but Hunter feels the same way, he is a firefighter. Sierra decides that she needs to do all the things she never did as a teen, spin the bottle, sneak into concerts etc, unfortunately she decides to sneak into a concert but bought a ticket in case she was caught. While sneaking in over the fence she gets her leg caught and ends up hanging upside down with a sore wrist and ankle. She rings her friend but she is away with the only other person who could help, her brother, so is left with only Hunter to call. Their banter and interaction is off the charts and makes this a must-read.
To be fair this is closer to 3.5 stars, but isn't as good as the other books I've read and rated 4 stars.
It is reasonably well written for a short story. You get a decent idea of the FMC's personality from her inner monologue. I would have liked a little more background on the pining, and the history of the MMC not to be a sad recollection from his perspective (it didn't quite fit with how the rest of the story was written), but rather the FMC informing us of his background. It was really random with her brother's reaction to trying to phone her - it needed to be made more clear at the time. It hadn't been established that they were that close for him to be as worried as he was made out to be. I'd consider reading more from this author.
⭐️3.5 This was a super fast read. It was only about 9 chapters and I finished in about an hour. It’s great for a before bed read, has no cliffhangers, and a HEA. It is a standalone book. I wish we got more character depth but it was short so I didn’t expect much. MMC is a firefighter and FMC is a baker. He is her brother’s best friend and has been off limits. One night she gets into a predicament and calls him for help. Of course he shows up to help the girl he has always loved. One thing leads to another and they are both finally acknowledging they have had feelings for each other since they were young.

This book is the perfect small-town romance for anyone who loves a sweet, spicy, and feel-good story. Sierra, a sassy baker, and Hunter, the hot firefighter who calls her “sweets,” have incredible chemistry, especially with the classic “brother’s best friend” trope. Sierra’s quirky personality and Hunter’s protective charm make their relationship adorable, and the proposal is just *perfect*.
Though it’s a short, cute read, the small-town vibe, spice, and happily-ever-after left me wanting more. If you’re craving a quick, heartwarming romance, this one’s a must-read!
A good but short novella. Being short we don't get to know much about our two main characters but what we read about the female, Sierra made me smile. Hunter the male, we know less about but he does have a small back story that again I would like to know more about. The sex is good, well written but the characters do get down to it quickly once they admit they like each other. So yes, more background would be nice, however for a short story it is fun. I was given a copy by voracious readers only.
Lit Up by My Brother's Best Friends is a cute, laugh out loud novella. Lana Piers weaves an adorable tale about how Sierra's quest to stop being a good girl leads her into the arms of the one man she always wanted but couldn't have. I enjoyed that there was no angst, just a sweet tale about two people finding each other. Sierra and Hunter are cute together and more that once I stopped reading and giggle. I only wish it had been longer - not because there was anything wrong with the book but because I wanted to get to know the characters better!
This was a quick read with wonderful, realistic, and relatable characters. The MCs shared a strong mutual attraction, yet it took almost a decade and a mishap (of hilarious proportion) to bring them together. Piers creates a family of supporting characters that lend themselves well to future books in this series, and I'm anxious to read each of them!
Lit Creek, where the book takes place, seems like a tight knit community where you can count on your neighbor, even if they stick their nose in your business a bit too often. 😆
This is a promising debut book in the romantic comedy genre. The protagonists are engaging and relatable. In the future, I would like Sierra and Hunter develop into three dimensional characters with the writer adding more substance and content to her plot development. The concept of the story has not been sharply delineated so the author has to come up with more material to draw and reach more readers and maintain their interest and attention as well.
What are you meant to do when you realise that you've been too good. Sierra has been in love with her brother's best friend for as long as she can remember but after she makes a mistake and needs someone's help, he's the only person who she wants to call for help. Hunter loved her but thought he could never have her until a game of never have I ever.
Great short story about taking a chance and it changing your whole life. HEA
Perfect easy rom-com novella! Sierra and her brother’s best friend Hunter find themselves in a hilarious encounter and it quickly spirals from there! Can’t wait to read the rest of the Lit Creek books! Even though this was a novella, it hit all the points, had a nice amount of spice and didn’t leave you hanging.
I really enjoyed this quick story with its humor and HEA. Being able to take time to read an entire story was a great factor with how busy I have been with the holidays quickly approaching. The characters were likable and brought a good sense of humor to the story. It's definitely a story I would recommend.
This book was short and sweet! It was the perfect “palette cleanser”. Just enough spice and romance with some comedy thrown in. I don’t always like short reads but this one definitely changed my mind on that! Can’t wait for book 2!
This was my 1st book from Lana and I can't wait to read more. This was a cute, fast Novella. You are definitely left with wanting to know more about them and I can't wait for the next book in the series.
This was an absolutely delightful love story. I adored the humorous, witty, and insecure herione. The hero was surprisingly.... WOW! The plots were entertaining and engaging. I enjoyed the humorous issues, the insecurities, and how this worked out depite how everyone is shocked with the outcome at first. The ending was very good. I highly recommend reading!
