Wow, Bijou Hunter is two for two now. Used is nowhere the fun that Junkyard Dog was as it is gritty, authentic and a little sickening but very well done. If your idea of a MC gang is Chaos, the Lost King’s or even the Last Riders then keep on walking. The men in this book rape, kill and have none of the brotherhood other fictional MC gangs do, and the club women aren’t a whole lot better. There is no girl’s night out or shoe shopping extravaganzas.

The anti-hero H is just released from prison and celebrates his freedom with the heroine, a club whore. No mistake about it, she’s a 20 year old girl that is on the way to being all used up. She’s doomed to this because of her father who borrowed money from the club and royally messed. Trapped by poverty in a small town, lack of opportunity and circumstances her sacrifice rings true as opposed to the HP sacrificial h’s tossing their out virginity to compensate for a crashed Ferrari and a stupid sibling.

“You think…”

She pauses and looks around. When her gaze returns to me, she sighs. “I didn’t care about being a whore. Not really. I’ve always been good at just doing what needs to be done. I never whined about homework or cleaning or helping my dad. I just did things because they needed to be done and whining wouldn’t change anything.”

The H and h have some chemistry, but their attraction and relationship is as much an element of circumstances as real attraction.

You’re just into me because I don’t suck as much as every other guy in the club. Our standards are really low here.”

Not what I would call a fun read, it is not as bleak as I am making it sound. Hunter writes tough characters that at heart can be unlikeable but are hard not to root for. I would have rated a higher star if we had had more interaction between the male character and the club as most of the book centers around the the H and the heroine if you can call them that.

I love MC books and I love Bijou Hunter so when I saw this book and what it was about I was over the moon excited. This book is not the typical MC book. Bo our hero grew up in the MC after his father was gone, and then the MC turned on him and he spent six long years in prison for the MC, now out and with no place to go Bo returns to the MC he hates. He doesn't like them and he doesn't want to be a part of the MC but that is his only option right now so he does this while not trusting them and knowing they will once again throw him under the bus if they need to.

When the MC offers Bo the club "girl" that is no ones favorite Bo is just glad to be out of prison and to finally get to be with a girl again. When he see's Sydney he is amazed at her beauty an quickly finds out that life has brought her to the place she is in the club. Sydney had a loving family and then she didn't and the decisions of her father made her club property a body to do with as they saw fit. Being the least favorite doesn't bother her in fact she does everything she can to keep her emotions in check. But when Bo walks in his angry mad demeanor turns to something more the more time they spend together.

Not wanting to fall for one of the club's girls Bo try's to push Sydney away but she isn't something Bo can deny and they soon begin to fall n love. But the club is not a safe place to be, to much time doing whatever the club wants and no consequences have left them with enemies. Knowing that Sydney can't leave her father and wanting Bo happy Sydney drops a bomb that may mean the end even if Bo can get away safely from the club. And as tension rises Bo and Sydney will have to decide if they will finally be free and happy or if the club will take more away from them than it already has.

When I started reading this book I didn't know how I felt about Bo I love the bad/good guy thing but Bijou wrote Bo so well that I was nervous she wouldn't be able to make me love Bo, but I kept reading because this story was just so good and it easily drew me in so much so that I would look and be surprised at how much I read. And then glimpses of the real Bo came through and before long I was in love with him. Bo was a great hero I get it he had a chip on his shoulder he spent six years in prison for a crime he didn't commit I can't blame him. But Bo was also possessive, strong, kind and gentle. I loved watching him with Sydney and him wanting to fight for her it just melted my heart more for him.

I normally also wouldn't want to read a book about a "club girl" but I loved Sydney front he beginning she was kind and loving and did what she didn't want to do for the father she loved. and even though Sydney had been through more than anyone should have to deal with she didn't let that change who she was as a person or make her into something she wasn't. Bijou made it very easy to love her characters in spite of their flaws and see the person they truly were. Bo changed a lot in prison he was once a nice sweet kid but now he is jaded and angry but the real Bo shines through in this book when he is with Sydney. Sydney was used in one of the worst ways but she was still a woman that any man could easily love.

This was a great quick read, it was gritty and sad but ultimately beautiful and sweet, even in the face of ugly, Bo and Sydney found a love that most can only dream about. This is another one of Bijou Hunter's books that I easily fell in love with and got wrapped up in. Bijou has a way with her heroes she knows how the write them to make me swoon. But I must say one of my favorite parts of any Bijou Hunter book is her epilogues, no matter how short or long she always gives me the happy fairy tale ending that leaves a goofy smile on my face, and anxious for the next book, and this book was no exception. Ms. Hunter is one of those authors that I wait for any book she writes and watch for any information I can get my hands on. Used was in short a fantastic read that I finished way to soon.

This is a realistic, non-romanticized book about the victims of a motorcycle gang and how they try to escape that life. The Gutters are as scary as the violent, lawless gangs you read about in the news. There was a real sense of dread throughout the story. The author also managed to stay away from cliches and corniness. A gritty, suspenseful story, with two very flawed, but very compelling protagonists to root for.

Bo and Sydney 4.5 stars.

With the exception of Gator, which was just too much for me, I've tried several times and I just can't bring myself to read past the doll/baby part, anyway, with the exception of Gator I've loved everything else by Bijou the 'Damaged' series is one of my favourites, only thing I wasn't sure about was the 'club whore' part, I was concerned how much I'd actually like a book about a 'club girl' but circumstances and personalities won out and this was a really good book.
Now I love MC books, to the extent where I started to try and wean myself off them, at one point it seemed to be all I was reading, so of course when I noticed Bijou had written an MC book I knew I had to give it ago, now it's a slightly different book as you'd expect from this author.
I loved Bo instantly and soon warmed to Sydney, these are two people who through naivety, loyalty and love find themselves in terrible positions and the question is can they find a way out together.

I’ve had this book on my TBR for so long! I love bijou hunter and pretty much everything she writes and I was scared that this book which had themes that I usually avoid, would make me wary of her books. I’m so glad to say that I loved it and I look forward to reading more!
BH could’ve easily made the H a manwhore who was with other girls while with the h because he’d not been with anyone in six years and she could’ve made him be hung up on his ex who helped in his going to jail, but she didn’t and I was so happy. I wish other authors could see that we really don’t need that kind of drama to keep a story interesting. Sure, some people enjoy that and that’s ok, but it really doesn’t need to be that way in EVERY SINGLE BOOK which it seems is what’s happening nowadays. Anywayyyyyys , I just would like to say that I enjoyed this book and can’t wait for more from this author😊

I loved this story. I love a story about normal people (by normal, I mean no millionaires/billionaires mega rich unbelievable crap) falling in love with each other. I enjoyed watching them start to trust each other, even in the background of the awful situations they were both stuck in. Bo kind of started out acting like a dickhead, but his anger was understandable from what he had gone through. It was nice reading his transformation from a dick to a real caring man, loving and protecting Sydney. Great characters, great story, happy ending and NO CLIFFY. I am a happy woman today! :)

I devoured this novella after reading Maggie's review and recommendation. I was not disappointed in the least.

It begins in the most unromantic of ways, with Bo being released from prison and sent to a club whore to get laid. It's not pretty words and getting to know one another. It's Bo fucking out his rage and frustration while Sydney does her duty to the club she is beholden to. Despite the inauspicious beginning, they do begin to forge a bond as he returns to her and she welcomes him back into her bed. The romance that develops between them is lovely and painful and poignant. The author made me care for the characters and I'm still thinking about their story long after turning the last page.

I love that there is no cheating in this book by the h or the H. Everyone else seems to have no problem with it though but who cares about them.
I took away stars because of how he talked to her and the names he called her. It's like he said one thing but acted totally different.
I love the ending, great turn around. This is a stand alone with a HEA.

I loved this book. It has low rating and that came a pleasant surprise. I'm guessing its not well received as the heroine is a club bunny - which is not only unfortunate but also continues to highlight the double standard that exists about men and women and the number of sexual partners they have. But I digress...

The heroine is incredibly likeable. Hero is a jerk and quite verbally abusive towards her initially but they really grow close due to the common enemy that forces them to turn to each other for solace.

I continue to look for more books with club bunny heroines because they are typically given an antagonistic role in other books. It's refreshing to get a different take on them.

Hard book to rate.

Didnt like either of the two mc H n h. Didnt like the mc club or their characters or the plot etc. It was all a car crash. If you cant in est in the characters you'll never hook your readers!

There were no redeeming points I could hook myself to.

It was an ugly book n remained so.

There was no soul to the book, it was heartless, violent and the sex scenes were meh. No passion, no emotion, nothing.

I read to escape. I love dark. But I guess I love dark so long as it has emotion n passion.

Nope not for me.

I will say the writing style was good, she just missed out a huge element that's needed in storytelling

You have to read this book!!

What a wonderful, wonderful book! Ms. Hunter sure can tell a story.

For me, an exceptional book is one where I am drawn into the story, where I am like a shadow living right along with the characters. Well USED is one one of those books. 5 stars is not a good enough rating. USED will open your eyes, mind and heart. I have yet to read a book written by Bijou Hunter that I have not laughed my fanny off at or shed a few tears of happiness over.

dark MC romance

This dark romance has an MC aspect as the H is semi-in the club, but not really. He’s released from prison after 6 years, doing time for another member and he’s bitter. The club sets him up with a club h0re, the h, and the rest is them falling for each other and trying to escape the club. It was very gritty, handsome H and h, but no billionaires, no sexy bad boy bikers (except H). It reminded me of Gator, another book by Bijou Hunter that I really liked.

Sad story, 2 young people who should be smarter, because they allow themselves to be used by others. The H was trying to fit in, h out of love for her father. Both had such low expectations of themselves and others, once they got together they started dreaming about having a different life. It was good.

A really gritty, and emotional wreck 3-1/2* Stars!!

I just couldn't put this book down, I was totally hooked from the moment I started reading.

I have to admit I am a newbie to Bijou Hunter, this is the first book I have read and I must say I really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend it and for sure look forward to reading more by this author.
This book definitely pulled on my heart strings and had me reaching for the tissues a few times. It is also gritty.

I really like Sydney, the strength this women has is really quite unbelievable. The lengths Sydney will go to protect the ones she loves, and all of her motives are so unselfish. I love her Sassy personally, her no shit taking smart mouth.
I went through so many different stages with Bo! At first I kinda LOVED him, being that I felt sorry for him, he was also the bad boy straight away, the he was just a complete arsehole, then he was and arrogant jerk but I couldn't help but love him and then his loveable ness! Not only has my love for Bo been a roller-coster but also my emotions throughout reading this book, I have loved, hated, hated a little more, cried, laughed and loved still.

I really did feel for Bo...he went through a lot of crap and gave up 6 years of his young life to serve a prison term for someone else...a really bad someone who didn't deserve to be spared.
Sydney was a sad story herself...very ill father who did a stupid thing and owed a biker club a whole lot of money that left her at their mercy...so of course she had to "pay it back" ON her back literally. Being a club whore to be "used" by anyone whenever they wanted, but was supposedly no one's favorite, so when Bo gets out of prison he is sent to her for a night of fun.
The title of the book pretty much sums up what both of these people were.."USED" by others for their own selfish and insidious deeds. I found myself holding my breath and cringing in some parts of this book...there are a lot of cold evil people in their world and I kept waiting for something horrible to happen not knowing who could be trusted.

I really did like Gator and The Damaged books...so this one looked pretty good as well and the fact that it was biker and the price was right...had to get it!

If you like Bijou Hunter's books you will enjoy this fast paced and very tense read. For all the bad in it, there was also some good and I loved the HEA ending, although it seemed a tad quick and everything all tied up pretty neatly at the end.

Bo served six years for a murder he didn't commit. That's what you do when you're in a MC club, but he was set up and served longer than expected. When he's out, he just wants food and a warm woman to lose himself in. He knows the members don't trust him, but he plans to stay out of their way and do as told.

Sydney is trapped as a club whore paying a debt owed by her father. She knows the minute she sees Bo that he's different from the other club members. They start spending time together and form a quiet routine. He keeps the other members away, while she thinks she healing him. But Sydney has a secret, one that may cause her to lose Bo. In addition trouble is brewing for the club. Can Bo forgive Sydney and can he talk her into leaving before it's too late?

The was a quick read and although it had cause/effect regarding a MC, it really wasn't that much of a biker book. Both Bo and Sydney had suffered and it was nice seeing them find something in each other to heal. The story is mostly told in Bo's POV with a couple chapters from Sydney. There is a HEA.

**3.5 Stars**

Used is a good story about two people finding love despite the bad hand life had dealt them. Bo and Sydney were both "used" by the Gutters Motorcycle Club. Bo spent six years in prison after confessing to a murder he didn't commit to cover for the club presidents' son. Sydney became a club whore to pay off a debt her sick father owed to the club. When Bo is released from prison, he is sent to spend time with Sydney...the whore who is no one's favorite. Bo is immediately attracted to her and there is an instant connection between the two. Not willing to admit to his feelings, Bo instead gives Sydney a lot of attitude, is rude, insulting and calls her names. She is able to see through his facade and I love how she handled him. Overall, I liked the development of their relationship and how they overcame their obstacles. I do feel like something was missing and that I needed something more from the characters and story. Awesome epilogue!!

Gosh this book definitely pulled on my heart strings. I really liked Sydney. This girl was really quite strong when you think about it. The lengths Sydney went to for her father, to protect him was very unselfish of her. To become a club whore to repay a debt her father racked up and be continually used and abused by the men of this club was sad. Even when Bo came along it used to make me cringe the way he spoke to Sydney, when he'd refer to her constantly as the club whore Sydney would just switch off and ignore it. I wondered how she could let him speak to her like that considering how much she actually liked him but then I also grew to like Bo. He definitely turned in to a wonderful man, and a devoted father. To accept raising the child of another man is a great thing.
When it came to the stage of protecting Bo, Sydney ignored her own pain and heartache and chose to defend and stand up for Bo and try and get him out of this terrible town so he would be safe from the club.

Used is one of those books that I just had to finish in one sitting. It is a standalone MC story. It's about a club whore and a member of an MC who find solace in each other from the club members. She has a secret that could push him away forever. This story is full of emotion and the theme here seems to be freedom. Freedom from the club and the freedom to be together as they want. The ending was awesome. I gave four stars due to the fact I wasn't completely blown away from this story. However, Hunter always seems to give the reader what we want...a HEA. Super-Duper in my eyes. I love Hunter's books. I love the realness to her stories and I'd highly recommend them. Now, go forth and read!! You won't be disappointed!!

Another great read.

Used was a great read, what began in sadness, anger and feelings boiling under the surface for these two unlikely lovers turns into something so much more, in fact they find something that is not only rare but special. Bijou you never cease to amaze me, when I start one of your books, I know from page 1 it's something I can't put down until I've reached that very last page. A page turner to the very end, your characters always carve their way into my heart, even though their HEA gladdens me, I find I am saddened as I have to say goodbye. Keep em coming, You have an avid fan eager for more here.

I’m not a motorcycle club romance kind of girl. I tend to like my books heavy on the courtship, with scenes that really show the relationship building. Most MC club books are about the sexy and tend to have heroes who throw around the words “bitch” and “whore” way too much for my taste. Which is why I was so surprised to find myself utterly engrossed by this novella about an ex-con MC member and – this is the literal term for it – a club whore.
