Sadly, the time has come for The Red Moon trilogy to end, but there is a roller-coaster ride of enthralling adventures before the final book concludes. Most of the characters are still teenagers, yet they will be forced to experience numerous harrowing circumstances that most adults would avoid at all costs. Even though they are a very diverse group of individuals, they must learn to work together or not only them but future generations may be lost. The two talented authors who write as Micah Caida have cleverly created an extraordinary story of perseverance in the face of daunting adversity. TIME LOCK is young adult science fiction at its best.

Since the moment Rayen woke up in a desert with no recollection of her past, her life has been filled with unusual and often traumatic events. She has few friends at the boarding school where she was taken after being found, but there are two other teenagers at the institute with whom she is now close after they shared several time-travelling adventures to a place named the Sphere. They discovered a future in turmoil, as a group called the MystiKs is being persecuted by those who are known as a TecKnati. Now Rayen, Gabby and Tony have become involved in a battle where their role is vital to the outcome.

Rayen has been ordered to retrieve a computer from the past and give it to a TecKnati who is purely evil. If she and her two friends do not bring it back in a certain amount of time, a young man from the future named Callan will be killed. Though Rayen knows she can never be a part of his life, it does not lessen her determination to make certain he lives. Though way too many incidents conspire against them ever making it back to the Sphere in time, she does not plan to let anything keep her quest from being successful.

Nothing is ever easy for Rayen and anyone for whom she is starting to care. Some of the concerns she has to tackle are surprisingly just like real life predicaments. People frequently clash when their social status differs from those of someone else, and this is the one of the biggest problems in the story. The aim of one faction is to wipe out everyone not like them, and this goal has been seen all throughout history. Since three of the characters come from another time period, this make it even harder for them to be accepted by those who do not tolerate somebody who is different in any way. TIME LOCK delves into quite a few matters that are relevant to the human race, thus making the story even more conceivable.

The behavior of the characters is also very credible, as they may be dealing with adult situations much of the time yet teenage responses come through. Plenty of adventuresome incidents take place, where unique threats occur during almost every occurrence. Micah Caida has an extremely vivid imagination, as scenes are packed with colorful details plus much innovativeness. I have certainly never read a story with so many ground-breaking facts, and each one added to my enjoyment. The emotions depicted by the characters range from joy to despair, and each sentiment is portrayed with lots of feeling. The Red Moon trilogy may be over, but I will certainly long remember its many engaging characters and creative plot. TIME LOCK is inventively original.

Oh my goodness! What a wonderful ending to an amazing series! I never know what to expect with the last book in the series. It's a big deal. This is what it all leads up to and what it will always be. Thankfully, Micah Caida did an astounding job with one of the most wonderfully complex and detailed series I have read. It was a fun series to read because it was fresh and like a puzzle. I loved how Rayen had no memories, but it did not overshadow the story. Eventually some pieces would be revealed, but it wasn't the focus of the books. She always had some obstacle to deal with, and she handled it, even though she had no idea who she was or where she came from. Her versatility, actually, all the characters' versatility made one hell of a world. These were some really tough kids!

Time is most certainly of the essence in these books. It is very significant to the story, and it makes the series very enthralling. The fact that this is the last book really makes that countdown even more remarkable. They are constantly traveling to different times, running against time, and changing it. In fact, the book begins with Rayen locked up trying to get to her friends, so they can time travel to help Callan on the Sphere. They only have a few hours to get this all done, so this books moves fast, like, hold onto the the edge of your seat fast! It starts off right where the other one left off. Right in the middle of a situation and the exhilaration never ever stops! As the dilemmas unfold, little tidbits of information from the other books were mentioned, and refreshed my memory. As I said, these books move fast, so the little reminders are perfect and very helpful!

There are many different phenomenal aspects to this book, and the series. There are people going back in time and destroying the lineage of an entire family without much effort. There is the possibility of binding souls together, and it is a very touching and moving concept. There are so many different characters with all kinds of personalities and abilities. The varying perspectives gave the book a lot of depth. It was fascinating to see the Red Moon world through multiple individuals. It was captivating to see the children handle predicaments much better than the adults, and to see the impact working together had on their world. You see very contrasting individuals become best friends, and you see each of them grow so much in such a short time. It is impossible to not become attached to these kids! For example.... V'ru....heartbreaking!

I can't believe how much ground Micah Caida covered in just three books! It is a truly jaw-dropping accomplishment. The ending of this series is bittersweet. I wish I could go back and meet all these characters for the first time again because I'm afraid I seriously underestimated them. The journey of the Red Moon series was riveting, fast-paced, and I'm so glad I can say I have done it! If you pass up these books you are missing out on an epic adventure with a brilliant ending!

By the way, I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Perfect!

This was an amazing, unique, thrilling and perfect ending to this trilogy. There were twists, turns, suspense, romance, you name it.

These characters are remarkable and memorable. I loved them all dearly. The authors did an amazing job making all the characters stand out, including secondaries. No one was left underdeveloped.

The pacing was spot on with no lagging, and yet the story did not feel rushed in any way. The authors’ voice was engaging. I am so happy to hear that there will be a spin-off series. Sign me up! I loved this story!!

The world of fantasy and its many truths hold in thus marvels storytelling by author Micah Caida. When reading your back pages I found why I was drawn to this trilogy. Is your involvement with Dianne Love novels. I also have been a large fan of her novels from the the beginning. You will be new to my library selves and now have started your own corn of my five thousands book. Worthy read and you deserving a five rating. Which I give out only to the writers of interesting storyline.

Sci fi thriller matching the social changes of the Civil war.

War. To the author, but the social constructs and demands for both peace and freedom in the book match lovely with what was experienced during the American Civil War. The book shows a committed and selfless group of people who risk everything to save others they do not even know. Much like the union soldierss, or in today's time, police officers, firemen, and the military. Kudos to the author!

Time Lock

After reading the first two books, I was very excited to see how Mr Caida wrapped these up. This book was no disappointment. I love this series and he tied up almost all of the loose ends, and it sounds like those will come in Jaxxson's book. I am a senior adult and I read it to see if I could recommend it to my 15 year old grandchildren.

Wonderful finale!

This book is the final one of the Red Moon series, and brings together all the elements of the story. The characters remain the same through all the stories, and the character development is better with each book. The adventures never cease, and there is friendship, love and excitement to be had with this entire series.

Wow! Amazing series. It is definitely an older teen book to older... between the romance, bonding & even mention of “sex,” and violence, it isn’t for younger readers.

As suspected, a lot happens in this book. Everything had to be pulled together & explained.

Great end to trilogy

Read the first two books if you haven’t before reading this book. The first book is great. The second book is a bridge book and has just as much action but is definitely a cliffhanger. This book wraps up all the loose ends. Good action trilogy.

Time Lock by Micah Caida is the 3rd and final book in the Red Moon series. This is considered Teen/YA, but it is a very well written and exciting story for all. The Red Moon series is a mixed genre between Fantasy & Sci Fi, with a little bit of everything from exciting adventure, time travel, sort of dystopian, powerful beings and creatures, and a beautiful romance.

Time Lock picks up immediately after the 2nd book (Time Return) left off. Rayen, Gabby and Tony are back to their time. Rayen has been taken off the Institute premises; Tony is falsely accused and locked up in a room, and Gabby, is trying desperately to control her powers before someone sees her floating in the air. This is just the beginning, but with the help of a friend, Rayen escapes and with Gabby’s help, they free Tony to use that special computer, which takes them back to the future and the Sphere.

Time is of essence, as Callan’s life is in danger, with only hours to save him. The enemy wants the computer that allows them to pass through time. Of course, they don’t know that without Rayen, that computer will not work. This is a difficult review to write, as I do not want to give any spoilers, and if you have not read the first two books, this could also be very confusing. You can read my review on the first two books for a refresher (Barb’s reviews – Time Trap/Time Return), or you can buy the books and read them for yourself. Which I suggest you do.

What follows is a wildly exciting story with Rayen, Gabby, Tony joining hands with Callan, Kaz, Jaxxson, Kenjia, V’ru in a fight to the finish to save them all. They must go against a villain who will stop at nothing to destroy them. There is also traitor among them, who feeds the enemy information that stops their attempts.

With all this non-stop action ongoing, there is such a sweet and beautiful romance between Callan and Rayen. It was beautifully done, as we wanted them together, despite all the obstacles facing them, including Callan’s sure death on his 18th birthday. Can Rayen save him? Will Rayen recover her memories, and find out who and what she really is? Is there any chance that Rayen and Callan can be together? Will Gabby find a way to stay with Jaxxson? All this and so much more will be answered at the end of the book. You really need to read this book.

This was a wonderful story set in a complex, dangerous world that was very exciting, and through ¾ of this book it was an enthralling race to a wild and climatic finish. Micah Caida has created an imaginative world that is complex and detailed, but the amazing thing is that it is explained so well; and all the pieces were so nicely put together at the end. Caida has created such wonderful characters, even though they are teens, they were tough and mature; we couldn’t help root for them. Micah Caida has written a wonderful series in Red Moon, that ends with Time Lock. If you want a wildly exciting story in a futuristic and complex world, I suggest you give this series a try.

Absolutely Awesome!!

I love to read books in a series and this has definitely been one of my best decisions to date. The Red Moon Trilogy is one of the most delightfully entertaining nail-biting heart soaring trilogies I've ever read. Micah Caida creates a world that sucks you in immediately and holds you in a relentless grip until the very last word .

Time Trap introduced all the main characters and set the pace for this amazing journey. Rayne, the main character, is a young girl with no memory of who she is or where she came from. All she has is a strange ghost that appears at the most unexpected times to give her cryptic messages she can't pieced together about the destiny only she can fulfill. Gabby is a strange girl with strange gifts that she keeps hidden because no one would understand them. She's eager to go along with Rayen because somewhere inside she knows she'll find answers for the meaning of her life. Tony is a smart mouth teckno-genius Italian kid from Jersey who has only one thought in mind; make lots of money and get his little brother out of foster care. He only goes along with Rayen and Gabby's 'woo-woo shenanigans' because he sees the opportunity to gain valuable information towards that end. They all find as many questions as they do answers when they encounter the MystiKs trapped in a magical sphere that contains dangerous plants and animals. Matthias and Callan immediately see the three outsiders as a threat but when they are all thrown into a life or death struggle, an truce and an uneasy attraction begins to form.

In Time Return the plot thickens! Too many things were left unresolved so a return trip is inevitable. After fighting several dangerous obstacles, they return to find everything turned upside down and backwards. The hideous death of Matthias, an attack on the MystiKs village and the brutal death of several children have left those that remain afraid shaken and desolate. Callan struggles to maintain order and the sense of hope that Rayen's return complicates. There is faint light at the end of the tunnel but it is so dim no one is sure they will reach it before it is too late.

In Time Lock its a race against the clock! Time is running out Callan, all the children in the village and the entire MysticKs race. Enemies within and without plot their destruction as our heroes fight to find all the answers to an ancient prophecy which appears to be their only hope of survival. A life ending battle and a heart breaking decision brings about a world changing event that finally gives all of our warriors a peace they never thought they'd have.
What I have said in this review does not even begin to give you the amazing details that happen in all three of these books . In my humble opinion this series is a Must Read!! I have thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to read it again the next time I need a break from my norm. Don't miss out on this!!!

***NOTE: This review may contain spoilers for the first two books in the series.***

Time Lock is the exciting conclusion to the Red Moon Trilogy! This book gives us all the answers we've been waiting for and a satisfying ending for the characters we've come to love!

The negatives:

Convenient romances.
The romance between Tony and Hannah still felt just a bit too much like a convenient plot device in this book. And Kaz's storyline also takes a convenient turn. Luckily the plot didn't center on either of these two elements, so it didn't bother me much.

What I LOVED:

Answers.
I loved that, right away, as soon as this book started, we began getting answers to the mysteries that had been set up in the series. Or at least major clues (there were still some surprises at the end of the book). At the very beginning of this final book, Rayen started to get some of her memories back and we were able to learn more about her family and where she came from. We also learned more specifics about the prophecy, which allowed me to make some guesses about how it would all play out (some things I was right about and some things I wasn't!).

The war.
The conflict between the TecKnati and the MystiKs headed toward an all-out war in this book! We really got to see why and how SEOH planned to rid himself of the MystiKs and his plan was put in full force. There were times when I wasn't exactly sure how the MystiKs were going to manage to find their way out of SEOH's traps (or his nasty son's). This book was full of action, just like the others in the series - the conflict was strong and the stakes were high!

Callan & Rayen and Jaxxson & Gabby.
While there were definitely still some struggles for my favorite couples (especially Callan and Rayen), I finally got to see them find a bit of happiness as well! The central romances in the book were sweet and romantic. And I loved that Caida forged a true connection between our characters without having them have sex (which kept the whole series appropriate for younger YA).

The ending.
I loved how the prophecy was finally fulfilled. As I mentioned, there were some elements of the prophecy that I pretty much figured out and some that surprised me. There was also a (very pleasant) surprise at the end of the book that I loved!

Time Lock was a fantastic ending to the series! I did not want to put it down! I give this book 4.5/5 stars.

This final book in the trilogy was absolutely fantastic and I loved it from beginning to end - I am sorry it has finished.

Rayen's journey continues as does her battle in deciphering her destiny...I will not give spoilers.

This story, as were books one and two, was very well written, immersing the reader into imaginative worlds, a fabulous plot and intriguing characters, both good and bad (some to make you smile, others definitely not).

Themes such as loyalty, sacrifice, love and betrayal make this a compelling adventure, one with deeply rooted lessons that force us to think of the possibilities and consequences of working together, or not.

Overall, a brilliant trilogy that included some beautifully sensitive scenes regarding all kinds of relationships and a story that will remain - always.

Highly recommended; for any age group.

What an exciting story, We have time travel, crazy beasts, crazy plants, warriors, political intrigue and all kinds of twists and turns that leave you wondering what is gonna happen next.

The best thing about this book trilogy at this point is - you can read all three right after the other and not have to wait. That is because once you read book One - Time Trap you will want to read Time Return then Time Lock.

It is an awesome story for any age but it is directed to the older teens/young adult. (PS" I am an old grandmother type)

I am looking forward to reading more adventures by this author.

I did not receive this book for an opinion.

Time Lock

This review is the combination of all three books. Time Trap, Time Return and Time Lock. I loved this trilogy. It begins with Rayen waking up in the desert with no memory. A ghost tells her that her name is Rayen and that she is allergic to peanuts. Her journey continues to the Byzantine Institute where she is a student for a short time. She meets Tony and Gabby where they embark on the time travel adventure. There's the mystery of the Damian Prophecy that stumps all involved until the ending of the final book. the ending is great. This is a must read. Rayen and Callan's love story is great.
