E. R. Phoenix is a full-time novelist born and raised in Puerto Rico. She's enthusiastic about the environment, freedom, human rights, and societal justice.

Dystopian fiction is her favored reading and writing genre. She combines this with romance, particularly when love appears suddenly in a dangerous setting and is impossible to resist. Her tales are filled with action, danger, suspense, steamy romance, and individuals who would stop at nothing to defend their cause.

She's worked as a middle/high school science teacher and as a personal trainer. When she's not writing, she spends most of her time reading and being with her family. She loves dancing, hiking, watching anime, going to the beach, and playing videogames.

The second book was so good that it gave me so much anxiety lmao, I was eager to keep reading. Is full of emotions and action. And that ending NOOOO LA POLIZZIAAAA 😩🤣. The book was so good can't wait to read the 3rd.

Until now, this one is my favorite book of this trilogy. I loved Davon's point of view because you get an exclusive look to how the elites are and how horrible the government truly is. In the first book, you know they're evil, but in this one, you get to see, first hand, how horrible they are. I loved to see Abi focusing on her training, but I felt like wishing I could rush out from her chapters and get to read about Davon and his mission. That part took priority for me.

One detail of the book took me by surprise. I've never expected it. In this book, you can see more growth in the main characters. My favorite characters are Matt, Aoki, and Davon. If something bad happens to Matt and Aoki, I'll be devastated.

Rule of the Elite picks up right where Rebel Unbound left off, following Davon and Abi as they continue their mission. We are introduced Davon’s father, Jordan, and unveils his plans to crush the rebellion. Meanwhile, Abi grapples with the weight of her role and the consequences of the choices she and Davon must make in order to save both her sister and the rebellion itself.

Rule of the Elite by E.R. Phoenix is the second book of The Promissa Trilogy and I have to say... this book left me in shock. Yes, I loved the first one, but I loved this one much more 😮‍💨💥

Here we continue with Davon, who goes even deeper into his role as councilman and begins to discover very dark secrets about Electi's political system and their plans to fight the People's Revolutionary Front. And when it comes to rescuing his leader, Davon is willing to do things that he himself didn't even imagine...

On the other hand, we have Abi, who becomes the rebel that everyone needed her to be. Her determination to reunite with Davon, rescue her sister Deb and fight alongside the PRF is simply impressive.

This book feels VERY different from the first. The tension is constant, and the amount of information we receive keeps you on the edge of each page. And that ending... that ending... E.R. Phoenix leaves us with the need to know how the Promissa Trilogy will culminate 🤯

I love that this author dared to bring us a totally different story from what we usually see. Thanks to her, the dystopian genre resurfaces and reminds us why I love it so much: because it makes us question the future, the power, and what we are capable of doing when the government controls EVERYTHING.

⚠️ As always, read the trigger warnings - this book touches on strong themes and has graphic scenes that are necessary for the story.

I don't have enough words to describe everything I felt: it was a rollercoaster of emotions, tension, courage, sadness and shock. And now I just have to wait for Breaking the Regime, which ALREADY has an official publication date.

Rule of the Elite dives even deeper into the world of Promissa—and it does not disappoint.

What I loved most about this book is how it pulls back the curtain on Davon’s world, showing us the hidden layers of the New World Government’s brutal regime. Going undercover, Davon finds himself entangled in Electi’s corrupt political system, and through his eyes, we get a chilling view of the enemy from the inside. It’s intense, suspenseful, and filled with moral conflict.

The story also brings more depth to the characters we came to love in the first book. Davon, Abigail, and Matt each go through powerful transformations. You get to know them in new, unexpected ways—especially Davon, whose past is revealed piece by piece, adding so much emotional weight to his decisions. Abigail’s fierce determination to reunite with Davon and fight back makes her an even stronger force in this story.

As the rebellion heats up and secrets start unraveling—including the mystery of a possible spy within their ranks—the tension is high from start to finish. The stakes are bigger, the danger is everywhere, and the twists keep coming.

This book is not just about the fight for a city—it’s about the emotional cost of war, loyalty, and the strength it takes to fight for what’s right in a world built to silence you. I couldn’t put it down.

Davon y Abi vuelven más unidos y más fuertes que nunca en este segundo libro de la trilogía de Promisa. Es un libro que te mantiene atento a cada situación y te deja pensando en que realmente no puedes confiar en nadie nada más que en tu instinto y juicio. Abi demuestra mucha más madurez y en control de sus sentimientos mientras que vemos a Davon actuar de una manera vil. Si te gusta el suspenso, la distopia y el romance (un chin más elevado que el libro uno) entonces te recomiendo que leas Rule of the Elite. Me dejó con las ganas de más. Te confieso que me molesté, grité y hasta por poco convulso con algunas de sus escenas. 10/10

It is said that sometimes you need to plunge into the darkness to see the light. Without doubt, this becomes true for Davon and Abi, as they try to save the rebellion, and enter into the core of the New World Government to unravel the truth and purpose of the government’s tyranny and oppression. Friendships are tested. Relationships tore apart. Their love comes to the test as new dangers emerge and everything seems to come tumbling down. Rule of the Elite is a book filled with thrills and suspense. I couldn’t put it down! Bravo for E.R. Phoenix! Can’t wait to read the third installment!

This book completely blew me away. I haven’t been this invested in a series in a long time, and this one reminded me why I love getting lost in a story. The writing is impeccable, sharp, emotional, and perfectly paced.

The characters and the tension pulled me in right from the first page, and I found myself hooked, unable to put it down. The story continues right were we were left off on the first book.

It’s gripping, it’s captivating, and it keeps you turning pages while also making you feel deeply for the characters. This series has truly become a favorite of mine.

Rule of the Elite picks up right where the first book left off, and it does not let up. I loved the dual POV—it gave such tension to the story. The stress of infiltrating the Elite while also hunting for the spy had me stress eating. The last 100 pages? Pure anxiety. Twists, surprises, betrayals—you name it, it’s here. And that cliffhanger? Absolutely brutal. I need the third book yesterday.
If you enjoyed the first book, this one raises the stakes in every possible way.

Amazing book! I totally enjoyed reading book one, but book two was even better. The story is well executed, and character development was masterfully crafted.
