This was an interesting book about an average Joe getting wrapped up into an extraordinary event to save someone he cares about. I found the writing and pacing easy to follow and stay engaged with, despite this not being the type of book I would usually go for. Billy Dan, our optimistic protagonist, has an infectious positivity and can-do attitude despite the hand he has been dealt which I felt made for an interesting main character. Additionally, the people he meets along the way all have their own compelling stories that made me interested in their stories and kept me glued for more.
