I'm passing my exam in a few days (see what I did right there with the "passing" -- positive thinking). This book has been a gem. It has so much structured information compared to other SHRM study manuals. Every section has small quizzes to validate understanding and a well done final exam in the format of SHRM with the situational questions.

The only thing that confused me a bit were the sections that appeared to be SHRM-SCP. The distinction wasn't too clear, particularly in the final exam. But I do plan to keep this book and read it a few times over, even after the exam is done. I believe it would benefit any HR employee to have it in handy.

This book says it has 2 practice tests, that is FALSE. It contains one practice test for SHRM-CP and one for SHRM-SCP. I bought it under the assumption that I would be getting two tests' worth of SHRM-CP questions, so buyer beware.

However, this was an extremely helpful guide to the exam and how to think like SHRM. I would not have passed the exam without this text, and am keeping it close as a professional resource until a new edition arrives.

Kind of strange to review a certification exam textbook on Goodreads, but oh well lol I’m too far behind on my reading challenge. Overall pretty good guide but it was a little confusing what sections were for CP & what were for SCP. Also minor incorrect issues in the immigration visas section. Lastly, a lot of the answer explanations weren’t really helpful because they just rephrased the correct answer instead of actually explaining why it was the correct answer.
