And the drama continues with Angel, Nico Carter and Darien. Nico has discovered Angel is the daughter he thought was aborted. Darien and Angel get married only for Darien to be gunned down on their wedding day. Keaton knows who really shot Darien but Angel thinks it's Nico. Just starting Female Hustler 3.

I absolutely loved this book. It epitomized what it's like for a young woman to have to fend for herself and not depend on another soul. Yes her grandmother was there but she could only do so much. It goes to show that a woman doesn't have to belittle nor demean herself to get money (be it legal or illegal)

I was a little nervous about buying this book because it reminded me so much of how the bitch series started. But I must say Angel is definitely her own woman with her own story. With that I will say it was a pretty good read. The only reason I didn't give it 5stars is because it left a bit to the imagination and it was like once the book got good it was over.

It Doesn't Click

Something is off with this story
Angel was taught by a drug dealer how to use a gun, but we did not get the sense that she was vicious or that she sexually wise or that she had actually dated. She went off to college and out of the blue, decided to become a madam. No training. That's unbelievable. Come on. Let's make it real.

Good read

This is a page turner! I’m loving the story line. I kept screaming for Angle to leave Tarin where she met her bc she’s very jealous of her. I don’t understand why Gavin brought her in either. It was his downfall. I recommend this book. Now on to part 2!

“Don’t Read Me Read a Book” in town book club had the pleasure of reading and reviewing a

Female Hustler. Not only did we review it, but we also had the privilege of discussing it in person with

the Author herself, Joy Deja King. The face to face discussion took place in Memphis Tennessee at Joy’s

favorite restaurant Spindini’s of Memphis which is located close to the ever so popular Beale street.

After a wonderful meal, and socializing, the discussion of Female hustler began. The ladies of “Don’t

Read me Read a Book” all agreed that the book was a five star read. Papaya Wagstaff, Rita King (Ladies

from Sistahs on Lit) and Joyce Dickerson (Book Reviewer) were also in attendance for this discussion and

also agreed this is a 5 star read.

The story took place through the eyes of Angel, the love child of Lisa and a surprise twist will reveal her

father’s identity. Lisa made a decision to tell the father that she aborted the child she was carrying, only

later on deciding to go through with the pregnancy alone and to not tell him about the baby, and not

revealing to anyone who Angel’s father is. After giving birth to a beautiful baby girl, Lisa began having

complications, and passed away, leaving her newborn baby (Angel) in the care of her mother, who was

thought to be the only blood relative for Angel.

As Angel grew up she witnessed her grandmother struggle to make ends meet. Although she

never went without, she lacked many of the things that some of her friends were privilege to have like

designer clothes, shoes, and purses. Taren a childhood friend of hers, loved to give Angel her hand me

downs. After a while that got old for Angel. When Angel made the Cheer-leading team, and needed

money to pay her fees, that’s when things took a drastic turn. Angel took matters in her own hands. She

accepted an offer that not only paid her cheer-leading fees, but brought out the Hustler within her. With

the guidance of Gavin, a local street Hustler, Angel learned what was necessary to rise from the girl who

wore her friend’s old clothes, to a young lady who was loyal, classy, and had her own designer things.

She truly showed what she was made of when Gavin was robbed, and left for dead.

The story goes on to tell how Angel took her street smarts and used them to run a business that

deemed to be very profitable. She was all on her own in a world that is usually run by men. Angel single

handedly ran her empire while eliminating the snakes along the way. No man could grab her heart. That

is until she met a famous Boxer, Darien Blaze that was determined to change that.

While dealing with her new found love, things take a twist and Angel found herself in a bad

situation. Knowing the importance of loyalty, she was determined not to break. While being held

captive it is her birthmark that kept her alive all because of who shares her same birth mark. Emotions

were getting ready to run high but……. The author decided to make us wait for part two.

This book was well written from beginning to end, with minimal errors. The story flowed and was

accurate as far as the time era and location. We as a group are excited and ready to read more material

written by Joy.
