This book wasn’t afraid to touch on mental health and the drowning feeling that comes with that. Jules is given her chance to interview the rock band The Coven giving her two weeks with them. Miles is the sexy drummer for the band and Jules isn’t opposed to a fling with him but when that time ends everyone goes back to their “normal” life. Jules goes on a downward spiral. Will Miles care enough to help her through?
Obsession. Rock and Roll. German Crime Lord. An emotionally fragile woman searching for herself in the most unlikely way.
For a journalist, what's the best article they can be assigned? For some, it would be to go on tour with the band that is currently considered to be the biggest internationally. Jules knows that her job is on the line, so her boss gives her this last-ditch effort to prove herself. He assigns Jules a 'day in the life' article with The Coven. The greatest band ever in Jules' opinion.
And she has two weeks. This is Jules' make-or-break opportunity.
When Jules meets the band, nothing could ever have prepared her for the instant attraction she felt towards the band's drummer, Miles; who just happens to be the most popular member of the band, and it's no wonder that with his stunning looks, he manages to collect fans like flypaper.
Jules has never been one to shy away from sex, so it's no surprise that it doesn't take much for her to end up in Miles' bed, and she's not surprised that's where she ends up remaining for the entire two weeks she's on tour with the band.
Then just like that, Jules suddenly finds that her time with the band is up and it's time to return to reality and back to her real life.
The Coven moves on as planned to the West Coast, leaving Jules depressed and vulnerable, and she spirals into a deep dark place she's not used to. Jules is surprised when Miles finds out what's going on with her and comes running to her aid, and with Miles working with Jules' parents they manage to help her find her footing again and get her out of her rut and back out of the darkness she had found herself in.
While Jules is on the road to her recovery, her parents decide that it's time for them to reveal some shocking and surprising news, while Miles' own secrets come to light on their own. Jules knows that trust is as fragile as a crystal glass. And to Jules Miles is like her own prescription drug. Miles can help Jules in her healing process, but it does come with side effects. His lifestyle is really bad for her psyche, and yet he has already managed to tattoo himself on her heart and she's not sure she can remove him from it.
Jules' parents beg and plead with her to make a clean break with Miles for her own good and for the good of her mental health.
But, Jules can't help but wonder how she can give up Miles when that would be like giving up air?

Edging Obsessing is A Dark Wild Manic Erotic Ride by Denise Baer. And let me say while this is the first book by Denise Baer, I just fell in love with this book and I can't wait to read more by Denise and this book is one emotional roller coaster ride that is going to put you through all your feels.
Jules is a journalist who knows her job is on the line when her boss gives her one last chance to impress him. He assigns her a 'day in the life' article with The Coven the current biggest international band in the world.
And he tells Jules that she has two weeks to either make or break this one last chance.
The moment that Jules meets the band she is blown away by the instant connection and attraction she has with the band's drummer Miles; the one member of the band who tends to attract fans to him like bees to honey with his stunning good looks. And their chemistry is nothing short of electrifying and explosive. There's this raw, undeniable spark that suddenly ignites between Jules and Miles that burns brighter and hotter with every passing moment they spend together.
Jules doesn't shy away from s*x or her sexuality so it's not a bit of surprise to her that she quickly ends up in Miles' bed, and spends the entire two weeks she's with the band in his bed.
And then, before Jules knows it or is ready, she finds that her time with the band is over and it's time for her to return to reality and back to her real life.
I found Miles to be a captivating blend of possessive and dominant and yet he managed to remain elusive while keeping his own secrets. I could tell that he was keeping his past hidden from everyone and that kept me guessing as to what he's really gone through in the past. But, he is this alluring rock star who managed to offer Jules something that she has never dreamed she would ever experience along with a world full of passion and submission that both thrilled and terrified her at the same time.
But, it's when their time together comes to an end, that the repercussions are revealed and Jules is left devastated and reeling, spiralling into this deep dark abyss. I absolutely loved how devoted Miles was to Jules when he found out what was going on with her. I was shocked by how he dropped everything and ran to her side to try and help pull her out of her spiral. But, even as he did all this, all in the name to help her, I found that the mystery around him continued to deepen and I wondered how it was that he was able to just drop the band and run to Jules' side when he was supposed to be on tour.
I can't help but wonder who Miles really is and if Miles is really his name? As we learn more and more about Miles and each new revelation and secret is revealed I found that the tension mounted and the world around Miles and Jules became darker and darker and added to that it became more dangerous. The stakes climb even higher for the pair when The Coven heads off to Europe for their European tour and suddenly Miles's real identity is uncovered.
I have to give full credit to Denise, she did an amazing and phenomenal job in depicting Jules's mental health struggles and she did such an astonishing job in capturing all the emotional highs and lows with such breathtaking authenticity. There were times however that I kind of felt uneasy and really very uncomfortable with how both Jules and Miles used s*x as a way of communication rather than using words and confronting the deeper issues that they were facing and that needed to be dealt with.
In a lot ways it appeared that the Dom/Sub relationship really did work for Jules and Miles in a lot of ways, there were a lot of times where I had to ask if Jules was truly mentally ready to embrace and get deeply involved in such a deeply intense trust-dependent relationship and lifestyle – even though there were times that it appeared that it seemed to provide her with the grounding Jules desperately needed in her life. I found this entire relationship and book to be such a thrilling, emotional roller coaster ride from the very first word to the very last word and I did find this book to be an enthralling exploration of love, trust, and just how complicated the nature of self-identity really can be.
I can promise you that Edging Obsession is this wild ride that you are not going to want to miss. It's packed with thrilling and shocking twists and turns, spicy passion, and you're going to find a depth of passion that is going to linger and live rent-free in your brain long after you have closed the book.
I love that Denise wasn't scared to dive into the world of mental health and how important it is to take care of your mental health and how you can feel like you're drowning at times when you are struggling with your own mental health. And she handled this topic with such care and grace. Through Jules' struggles with her mental health it reminds us just how fragile life can be and we never know what we are going to be facing tomorrow.
I can't recommend this book enough especially as it promotes taking care of your own mental health and reminding us how fragile life can be and living life to the fullest and still protecting our lives and taking care of it.
From the moment Miles and Jules meet, their electrifying connection is nothing short of explosive. A raw, undeniable spark ignites between them, burning brighter and hotter with each passing moment. Miles is a captivating blend of possessiveness and dominance—yet secretive and elusive, with a hidden past that keeps you guessing. He's an alluring rockstar who offers Jules a taste of something she’s never experienced before, a world of passion and submission that both thrills and terrifies her. But when their time together ends, the repercussions are devastating and Jules is left reeling, spiraling into a dark abyss. I was captivated by Miles’s fierce devotion to Jules when he drops everything to return to her side. But even as he steps in to help, the mystery around him deepens. Who is Miles, really? Is that even his real name? With the revelation of each new secret the tension mounts and their world becomes darker and more dangerous, the stakes climb higher, especially when the band heads to Europe for their tour and Miles’s true identity is revealed. The author does a phenomenal job depicting Jules’s mental health struggles, capturing the emotional highs and crushing lows with startling authenticity. However, I couldn’t help but feel uneasy at times about how both Jules and Miles turned to sex as a means of communication, rather than confronting their deeper issues. While their D/s relationship clearly works for them in many ways, I was left questioning whether Jules was truly ready to embrace such an intense, trust-dependent lifestyle—though, at times, it seemed to provide her with the grounding she desperately needed. This is a thrilling, emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, is a gripping exploration of love, trust, and the complex nature of self-identity. It’s a wild ride you won’t want to miss, packed with shocking twists, steamy passion, and a depth of emotion that lingers long after the final page. Time doesn’t equate to love There are so many tropes and layers to this story. Constantly adding pieces to the main storyline. Please carefully read the trigger warnings and make the best decision for your physical and emotional well being. Read and experience the book however is best for you with whatever support you need. I love the exploration of complicated feelings, self awareness, and coping mechanisms. Jules opening of the story reads like someone in throes an episode. A weird jumping off point of sorts, but fitting for Jules. Miles and Jules are instant. Miles isn’t a fan of communication for no need. He only communicates in depth when it matters. He doesn’t do frivolous. He’s a very it is what is typer of person. How poignant and important it is for someone with mental health issues to hear ‘you’re not crazy.’ I love that Jules parents and Miles all always agreed on that point. She’s not crazy. I like that Miles doesn’t shy away from confrontation with Elliot. He doesn’t back and isn’t afraid for things to get messy. Could they both be more calm and less Neanderthal, most assuredly. It comes from a place of love for Jules though. Elise is a great mom. She listens to her daughter and is honest with her husband and Miles. She protective, but she’s a woman too. She brings a great perspective for everyone in all discussions. I wavered a lot, and went back and forth, on whether this was a 3 or 4 star read for me. It’s such an emotionally charged delicate book, that it was hard to be so black and white about the rating at the end of it.

This book has me feeling all kinds of things. Denise has captured the life of two very unlikely people and made it work. She has allowed her readers a peak into the life of someone with a mental illness and i truly feel like she has portrayed it so that others can understand how those living with a mental illness are affected.
From the first page, you realize that Jules is not a normal FMC. She seems distant and aloof. We later realize that her mental illness is the culprit for her failed relationships and possibly her failed career.
Miles is a MMC that captures your interest from the beginning. He is attractive, popular and rich. He is in the limelight due to being in a very popular band and meeting and falling in love with Jules seemed unlikely.
However, from the moment they saw each other, their loves were changed. The magnetic pull between these two is intense and almost borders unhealthy. Jules is so dependent in Miles for everything, but I feel that Miles is equally dependent on Jules for his happiness.
They discover through their relationships that Miles domineering personality is what grounds Jules and allows her tp accept and live with her mental illness.
The ups and downs they face in this book are extreme, but through it all you see that their love for one another wins out.
If you loves a good romance where the characters are flawed, then read this book. Denise did a wonderful job bringing Jules and Miles story to us!
This book was amazing there was so much spice and includes bdsm it really gripped me and I found like I never knew what else was gonna happen with ever page. The book showed so many different emotions with each character involved and really portrayed mental health perfectly , I also loved the layout and the writing style it was so clear and easy to understand and read. I would say it was medium paced it was slow ish in beginning then got mire as went along. I love the male character and both sides of how he was portrayed which really reflect on how men can be. The only dislike I have is I didn't find there was much plot to it there was little bit of a plot but nothing massive but that could just be me and my opinion on it but I honestly really enjoyed the book. The bookish defo aimed for people in to spice and trigger warnings I have some triggers but this book didn't trigger me at all if anything it made me feel understood especially on mental health side things but I'd defo recommend reading if u love spice its not dark tho just very spicy defo worth the read. I'm so glad I was able to read this.
A Dark, Spicy, and Fast-Paced Romance A Dark, Spicy, and Fast-Paced Romance! If you love dark romance with an insta-love twist, Edging Obsession is a wild ride you won’t want to miss. Jules and Miles have undeniable chemistry, and the spice levels are off the charts. This book moves fast, keeping you hooked with unexpected twists and turns that make it impossible to put down.
I really appreciated how the story tackled mental health, specifically bipolar disorder. It added depth to the characters and made their journey feel even more raw and emotional. I also enjoyed the intensity of their connection and how the story kept me on my toes. The only thing I wish had been different was that a few moments felt a little unresolved—there were some conflicts that could have used more discussion between the characters. Still, the tension and passion more than made up for it.

"Obsession. Rock and Roll. German Crime Lord. An emotionally fragile woman searching for herself in the most unlikely way."
The book blurb said it, not me. This compelling story captured me from the beginning. The relationship between Jules and Miles is electrifying. His single-minded focus and care for her was comforting to me as the reader, even though it was kind of obsessive, because she was in such a delicate mental state, and it seemed to be what she actually needed. She also embraced the BDSM aspect of their sexual relationship which made them perfectly suited to each other. Having so many different romance tropes in one story was a little odd. I think I would have preferred that Miles be one or the other - either a rockstar or a mafia guy, but not both. Either way, I still loved these characters and their story. This book was a great intro to this new-to-me author. 4.5 stars.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The first time Miles and Jules met, they were into each other, could not take the eyes of each other and he behaved pretty cavemen like. It was a really nice moment to read. This is definitely not your usual rock star meet reporter story, this is so much more with a lot of surprises. What was a bit strange is, that at the beginning of the book, you would not think, that she had problems other the obvious, during the story she behaved kind of very strange at times. It's written in both her and Miles perspective, that's really great, so we know how they both feel and think about everything. It has a lot of sexy stuff and BDSM, which I am not a fan of, but in this book it just fits. The only strange thing is, he is German, but no one notice? What is with the accent, he was only in the US for five years. Besides that, all in all a really good book and when I see the reviews I would say definitely underrated. It's worth a read and I go as far as a reread for me.
This books is well written. The pace is fast. It grips you from the get go! I love how the depiction of mental health is portrayed and how it’s intertwined with the spice. I LOVE the MMC in this book. What’s not to love? The character development was good and even from the get go you question ‘is he hiding something?’ There has to be more? And then when the shoe drops you find yourself gaping with your mouth open! There were multiple plot development stages which were just super juicy. I never thought of the German language as being sexy, but Denise has proved me wrong!
One thing I may have wanted more off is dialogue in the spice scenes. But that’s my personal preference - I like dirty talk what can I say!!
Overall a beautifully written book that grips you and makes you want to keep reading! Super grateful to have read this prior ❤️
I was completely excited about reading this book. One of my favorite genres is D/s relationships. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. While I do feel the premise of this books was a good one and the book is not a bad read, the book ended up not being for me. I loved the idea of the main female and male characters relationship and all it entailed, but although I enjoy a good bit of spice, I felt the story itself became lost in and never developed enough to grab me and pull me in. I would however give this author another try to see how her future books evolve and her writing style grows. This book would be great for someone looking to read a full spice book.
OMG this was a great book. I just love this story. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. It was addicted and dark of passion and it makes you wanting more of this action packed romance and drama. Jules and Miles the chemistry between them was ignited the spark when their eyes meet. The physical attraction between them was spicy hot and sexual tension. They couldn't fight the temptation any longer they were destiny to be together in this madness and chaos.
I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Trina Jones
First I want to say I read this as an ARC. I am giving my honest opinion of this book. I whole heartedly loved this book. It touches on a lot of real life feeling and situations. The story line is very real life and is very well written. There is subject matters that are very real life. Some of the plot twist I saw and some shocked me. I felt everything Jules was feeling. I am bipolar myself so I felt all the feeling from her. I cried, I felt her happiness, I felt her feeling loved, and torn. I was shocked is some parts of the books and got scared and cried in some spots. I being this book has very good plot and story line. Make sure you check your trigger warning. Mental health is one of biggest topics in this book.
Jules and Miles. absolutely love them! I loved the instant attraction, his dominance and her submissiveness. they were both willing partners that showed the utmost care and respect with their BDSM lifestyle. The mental illness was portrayed so perfectly. Clearly Denise put time and effort into making sure that the BPD was portrayed in a very real light. it worked so well with the rest of the story. and I loved having that be a part of this book. But I loved the smut, the chaos, the love. so much was put into this book. and I absolutely loved the most that there was a plot! I've read so many books that have smut and erotica and have NO story behind it lol. this was all that and so much more. can't wait for the next read!
A gripping dark erotic romance, this story dives into the intense world of rock and roll, obsession, and personal healing. It follows a journalist’s journey as she embarks on a career-defining assignment to tour with the biggest band, only to be swept into a whirlwind affair that tests the limits of trust and self-discovery. The novel explores deep themes of mental health, dominant-submissive dynamics, and the complexities of love, with a raw and emotional narrative.
Packed with intense passion and dark undertones, it’s a captivating read, but the strong triggers and explicit content make it best suited for readers who enjoy darker, mature themes.
I will be honest. When I started reading this, I thought that this would be a traditional girl meets rockstar romance. OHHH NOOOO. This is anything but that that.
Jules is not your traditional girl, in that she has issues. But doesn't realize all of her issues until you are in the book. Miles is not your traditional rock star. He has many other hats that he wears.
When the two come together they can't get enough of each other. But things like the past, parents health issues comes slamming towards them and they have to figure out how to deal with it. There are so many twists and turns in this book. You have got to read
Holy catfish Batman.... This full of amazing everything. I felt like I was in the story seeing and feeling it through the words I was reading. I fell in love with the FMC Jules from the 1st page which literally started out with a bang 😉 and throughout fell just as hard for the MMC Miles and let me say he definitely has me questioning myself on a few things I may need to try out 😈😈
If you like alittle man in a band, some Mafia drama, add in some family drama and then a whole lot of sexy as h€ll spicy scenes this book is definitely for you
Falling for Rockstar who turns out to be related to Mafia, meeting the Band for a job but one meeting with the famous drummer and things turned upside down for our FMC. This book was one rollercoaster for sure. With a list of trigger warnings and twists, I just devoured this book. Loved the writing and the characters. There was so much going on than just steam and romance. And each detail made this book interesting. I would definitely recommend this book with making sure you read trigger warnings first of course.
Jules is given a career saver with an interview of the Covern band, she's got two weeks woth them to get that article, not expecting to be drawn in by drummer Miles the spark ignites but when the band moves on, Jules drops and then the ew of just who Miles is shatters the rest but will him coming back be what she needs? Well written the story hooks you from the start engaging steamy dom/sub themes.
Ohhh boy or should I say oh Miles. This book had so many ups and downs. I loved how Miles took care of Jules BUT I feel like they just kept running in circles with each other. I liked the D/S components in it and how to addressed the difference in the countries and how we see certain relationship.

OMG! This is my first book from this author, and I LOVED IT! I couldn’t put this down. This book had ALL THE SPICE, German mafia, rock star, mental health issues, kidnapping, Touch her & d!e. This book hit every single one of my favorite tropes!
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 - all kinds of play 🩶 morally grey 🖤 touch her and d!e 🖤 k!dnapping 📖 300 pages
I absolutely devoured this book up. I could not put it down. As someone who suffers from Bipolar and had some similar experiences to Jules, I loved how she progressed through the book. I loved how Miles was and acted with her. I loved these 2 of them as a couple.
This is definitely a book that you need to check your TWs. However, I highly recommend!
So good! I couldn’t put it down! The characters are amazing, well developed, and deep. I truly felt a connection with each of them which makes the book that much more enjoyable. I can’t recommend this book enough! I love the storyline! I definitely want to read more books from this author.
This book checks so many boxes! The writing style was a bit hard for me to get into (possibly a 1st time author?), but the storyline was incredible. There's so much to love and enjoy about this book.
I received an advanced copy of the book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a thrilling story. This is an amazing story from the first connection. Miles and Jules go through so much together. Watching the story unfold was a wonder. I was on the edge of my seat the steam was intense. I love the way that the characters were depicted. A great story.
