A story that takes you back to your first love…all we think we know yet we knew so little… I actually felt for each character as this was how people met, hooked up and wither realized someone was right or very wrong for you. Sometimes you found out too late… these two love stories in one did a good job of showing scenarios that could pop off …enjoyed the similarities as well as the conflicts in each situation … Also showed that everyone doesn’t always win sigh❣️📚❣️
This story was about Nunu and Gipp along with Coco and Trigg. When I say the feelings that Nunu felt had me feeling it. As women I can say life is nowhere near perfect and as much as we try we sometimes have to choose ourselves. Trigg was the epitome of Evil and Coco pissed me off in so many ways to explain but again we have all been young a dumb. You read about Gipp growing from a boy to a man which was refreshing. Nunu was true to herself. Na'Kia this was a beautiful 90's rendition of love.
I love it..I love it..I love it! I am so happy the author saw this story through to the end. Baby Gipp was pissing me off with his stupid ass actions but honey time will definitely make you rethink your actions. Trigg deserved everything he got!! NuNu did the right thing even when she was hurt. She really had to figure out life and she did that! Coco just really was dealt a bad hand with Trigg, he was a user and bish ass 🥷
This book was so good. I was not expecting both Gipp and Trigg to be trash, but they were. At least Gipp redeemed himself, but Trigg didn't want to do anything but stay the same. I commend NuNu for walking away, or Gipp would've never grown up. Now that dang Trigg, had my girl CoCo wrapped around his finger. She x was willing to do anything he asked of her. I wanted her to find her backbone quickly, but she had to learn her lesson the hard way. I want more on Coco as I want her to get her HEA. Amazing story about being young, dumb, and in love.
Such a good read. I love this 90s version the best so far. The main reason is the reality of young love. So many times you needed to leave but didn’t. One was someone who had the courage to choose herself. The other was forced to choose herself after her bad decisions caught up to her. I’m still pleased with the ending for both young ladies. I would love a follow up with Coco
The music in this book was 🔥🔥🔥- from Mary J, Jodeci and Jesse Powell! The vibe was amazing!!
This love story was so on point! In the 90’s everything goes when it comes to your man - lol… He couldn’t tell you no wrong 🤣🤣.. However the growth back then was different but the best lesson you could have learned!!
Oooh I felt nunu I didn't get the same ending but I remember having to walk away and how hard it was thank u for this story....I need yall to do a south jersey/New Jersey one lol
I really enjoyed reading this novella. My book club read this during a live sprint and the 90’s nostalgia is all there . Nakia did a wonderful job of making you feel like you were in your teens sneaking off to freaknik in Atlanta . No detail was left out. The playlist was spot on and we had a time. I went through a range of emotions through out the book which gives it 5 stars for me . Nakia never misses.
Na’Kia…why do you do this to me. You always have me sliding down walls with one of the characters. Coco was so naive to her detriment. Trigg got what he deserved. I’m glad Gripp got his ish together. It took Nunu to walk way. Nicole I’m glad she did what was best for her.
This book was so good and the music jams were very on point. I’m not going to comment on the relationships because I don’t have anything nice to say about any of them.
“Complied..Conformed..Controlled..Complicit” (sorry, I forgot to title this review in kindle before I submitted it🤦🏾♀️!)
😮💨, a great read but yet I’m conflicted by some of the characters behaviors/responses to events more than others‼️…hmmm🤔💭⁉️ However, ”90’s Love In Atlanta (90’s Love Story - Book 2) was an interesting and intense depiction of naïveté in the hood rather than a story of new love, ghetto love, trap love or even freaknik. I’m astonished, that all of these young girls especially NuNu & CoCo were compliant, conformed, controlled, complicit and so darn gullible to the advances of a hood negro😡 …lesson 101 (spittin’ game) growing up in the projects themselves. Nevertheless, I’m satisfied with the final results of a prominent characters. …Meanwhile, an update on NuNu & Gipp would be much appreciated 🤷🏾♀️🤭‼️
This 90's love took me back to my younger days, the songs fit perfectly. NuNu wanting that love a different type of love besides her brothers she found it so she thought in the wrong person and she got caught up. Trigg brother and friend told him what he was doing was wrong but he died care I felt he did this because her brothers stopped working with him, happy she didn't have to do hard time. Coco knew her worth and finally stood on making herself happy for a change even though it hurt leaving but it was what was needed for him to really see what he had at home was worth it and more; like he said he needed to grow up the young boy Gripp wanted to play around but the grown Marquees knew what needed to be done in order to get his love back and he did.
That was an awesome read true love is real tough love is realer. I have read thousand of books but I can honestly say I relate to this one on both sides cause its like I'm reading about my life on some real shift, I was left in jail by an ex husband and it has taken almost all my life to finally have a man that loves and cherish me and it feels wonderful, great job Na'Kia
This was an enjoyable read, but both MMC’s were trash! Gipp managed to redeem himself by the end, and I appreciated seeing the man he grew into. However, that damn Trigg really pissed—he was such a manipulator, and poor Coco ended up caught up in his web of lies. She was definitely “young and dumb,” and it’s heartbreaking that her story unfolded the way it did because she didn’t deserve that.
That was really cute! I could see it on the big screen. NuNu and Gipp were the epitome of reading my childhood relationships, lol I remember watching it happening with my sister and cousins. I hate how Trigg did CoCo you could see his BS from smile away, sucks that he died, but everyone tried to warn him but his ego wouldn't let him loose ... 10\10 I definitely would recommend!!!!!!
From the electric slide on up! Na’Kia you did wonders with them. Trigg knew he was wrong about what he done to Coco and went against the grain. I was glad she didn’t have to go to prison. Gripp and Blac didn’t play about lil sis. Nunu and Grioo so happy they have their happy ending!
I understand Coco was naive but she had older brothers so she should of figured out the game Trigg was playing. NuNu let Gipp know if you can't be faithful we can't be together. I'm glad Gipp got himself together. I would like an update on this couple
I knew Gipp and NuNu were meant for each other. Their love for each other could be felt through your words. I feel it for Coco, though. She didn't deserve to be treated like that by Trigg. I hope she finds someone genuine when she is ready for love again. Great Read!
This book was so good! I love all of the songs referenced throughout the book and the old school imagery. It’s sad that Coco had to take that unfortunate turn of fate but I’m glad she made it through. Nunu and Marquise went through a lot, but they deserved each other.
This book was great although Nunu had to learn the hard way that love hurts she still survived Gibb and his deception. I was happy the her brother and bestie made it work. Great teenage romance
This was a ride. I had so many emotions going through out this journey. I was angry, joyful, nostalgic, and happy. I loved the ending, and it all came together. Everyone got what they deserved in each way they did, and I liked it a lot.
Omg this was a wonderful wonderful book. I couldn’t put it down mannnn Nakia u wrote the heck out this book. I’m so glad everything turned out the way it did,
This was a wonderful book. I love reading a story that I can see the characters as I read. This book played in my head like a movie and if a book can do that its a great read.
