Lightning Strikes Twice

Rate this book
Pamela Costigan, psychiatrist at The Lightning Center, the premier facility for research and testing of people who’ve been struck by lightning and developed psychic abilities, runs into Evan Lassiter by chance at a conference. Not only is he a fellow psychiatrist, he’s the man who broke her heart. She’s still wildly attracted to him, despite the fact that he’s been vocal about his criticisms of her family’s center.

Evan has had second thoughts regarding Pam and has missed her a lot. He still has doubts about the Center, and asks to visit there. Pam and her family challenge him to look at their research with an open mind.

Evan tries to do so as he spends time with Pam and her colleagues. But he is still skeptical—although he finds himself developing strong feelings again for Pam.

Pam’s emotions toward Evan are reawakened, too. But the facility is being threatened by an unknown person as they continue their testing and research.

Can Pam trust the man who once hurt her and let her down? Will he help her and her team face danger? Or will their fiery attraction and stronger feelings cause them to crash and burn?

Pamela Costigan has worked hard to make her family’s The Lightning Center the top research facility in the country. She’s sacrificed a lot to get where she is today. So, when she bumps into her ex-boyfriend and critic of The Lightning Center, Evan Lassiter, at a conference, she’s flustered. Long-buried passion reignites between her and Evan. She talks Evan into visiting The Lightning Center and see the progress for himself. He agrees to keep an open mind. Pam and Evan work well together and Pam wonders if this is her second chance at love. When threats aimed at The Lightning Center hit home, Pam turns to Evan. Is it a mistake or is Pam realizing love, just like lightning, can strike twice?

Lightning Strikes Twice is the electrifying conclusion to the Lightning Strikes series. Throughout the series, I’ve grown attached to Pamela and wished for her own happily ever after. Lightning Strikes Twice is a second chance romance with a paranormal twist. The banter, the chemistry, the suspense all combine together to make Lightning Strikes Twice an unputdownable romance. The plot moves quickly with plenty of substance and intrigue. The characters leap from the pages and soon found a way into my heart. I kept rooting for Pam and Evan to make it work. The ‘danger’ pumped up my pulse and caused me to gasp a few times. Hands down, Lightning Strikes Twice is a brilliant paranormal romance and the best book in the series. If you’re a fan of paranormal romance with a dash of suspense, pick up Lightning Strikes Twice. It can be read as a standalone. Highly recommend!

A truly creative story - I've never read a romance centered around ESP and psychic abilities, so this was definitely something different. I'd think a second chance romance would be challenging for any exes who both happen to be doctors but Pam and Evan take it to a whole different level, Evan burdened by familial demons and a strong skepticism of Pam's psychic abilities and her work. I enjoyed seeing this estranged couple slowly warm up to one another again - their time attending a medical conference serves as the perfect opportunity for old feelings to resurface. The details make you feel like you're a part of the fun, right down to what's being served for lunch. Pam and Evan's reunion is a hot one - after years apart the two can't wait to be back in each other's arms and the anticipation is high right up until the final page. There are tear-jerking moments, edge-of-your-seat suspenseful moments, and moments that will surely warm your heart. Great couple, great novel, which has an ending I found very satisfying.

I try really hard to not read a book in a day, so I can pace out my enjoyment. Lightning Strikes was a book that I had to really struggle to spread out the reading.

Sabrina, the main character, was struck by lightening and as a result, developed paranormal talents. Throughout this story, Sabrina takes us on some interesting adventures that teach us about her talents. Sabrina works with a team of medical experts at The Lightening Center that help her with her astral projections. She helps save lives, and gets herself into a dangerous situation. On top of all of that, there is a wonderful romance.

Roni, thanks for all your research to expose us about paranormal talents, and for another wonderful book. I am already looking forward to the next book in this series!

Lightning Strikes Twice is a delicious mix of romance, suspense, and the supernatural. From the moment I turned the page, I couldn't put this book down. The conflict is real and complex. It's clear the author did her research. I wish there was such a place as the Lightning Center because it's a place I'd love to visit. The characters are strong, well-developed, and extremely likable. I enjoyed learning about telekinesis and ESP. As a huge lover of the paranormal, this subject was right up my alley. The premise of developing extraordinary powers after being struck by lightning is one I haven't seen before and well worth learning about. I highly recommend this book to all lovers of the supernatural and anyone who loves a great romance! Five stars all the way!
