Ellie Mattice is offered the opportunity of a lifetime when she gets accepted as an international student at a leading performing arts school in London. Acclimating to the hustle and bustle of her new city life and the ache of missing family back home is challenging enough... but it's the guarded pianist she meets that throws her the biggest curve ball of all.

At first, Theo's tough demeanor and opposition are enough to drive Ellie mad but with his witty charm, she finds herself curious to discover what else lies behind his broody facade. Unfortunately, the trauma that haunts him from the past is damaging enough to put the relationships and the people in his life at stake.

Can they follow their hearts in pursuit of the comfort they find in one another, or will newly discovered betrayal and cruel intentions have them minding the gap?

What an amazing book!
Honestly I was hooked from the first chapter, the story flowed beautifully, the characters had such depth, and the writing had me transported into the page, I felt like I was in the book right there with them.
I cried, oh how I cried, this book, the twists and turns, everything, I felt every emotion.
Theo and Nora were everything and I couldn't have asked for more from two characters.
“I want you. I want all of you. The good. The bad. The fucking ugly, Theo. I want it all. Why can’t I have that? Why can I not want that?”
Ugh that quote hit me right in the heart. You can feel the emotion in just one small snippet.

This book starts out with Eleanor moving to London to attend an arts college. On her first day in her new apartment with her very welcoming roommates, she meets their former roommate Theo. Eleanor being the clumsy little thing she is, literally runs into Theo and from that moment they become enemies. Slowly but surely Eleanor breaks Theo’s walls down. He protects her from her very dangerous recent ex boyfriend. They both heal from their past and current traumas.

Meet Me at the Metro is easily one of my favorite recent reads. The writing and character development has me unable to put the book down! I laughed and I cried throughout the book.

Recommend: yes!

First thought of the book: I hate John!!! I love it when the author gives readers an easily hateable character 😂. Eleanor is such a spunky lovable FMC!! She makes the best friends on her new journey and their love and support is 🙌🏼. Theo is a typical grumpy, broody MMC with a tortured past. I loved the slower burn of this book combined with a couple things I didn’t see coming. I really just let myself delve into the story and it was so good. I love stories that have short chapters with dual POV; getting to see both characters inner thoughts is so helpful for understanding them better. Let’s just say I finished the book at 5 am 😜. Definitely read this one if rom coms with a smidge of suspense are your thing!

The overuse of italics has driven me to DNF. It seemed like every other sentence had italics when it was very much unneeded.
And the use of English words that just aren’t used anymore.
Could have been a great concept but I couldn’t get past the italics. DNF @ 20% and I strongly dislike DNFing books

OMG I dnt fully know how to put into words how much I loved this book.

It had a stubborn, grumpy handsome man and stubborn, bubby, theater loving women. There story and how they get together is amazing and shows just how finding love with the right person can be amazing and help you in every way through the good and the bad.

The book also had amazing best friends, and strong bonds between the characters. Along with a crazy ass ex and horrific step mother. With an absolute story twist I never saw coming and my jaw left hung open. And I dnt want to say much about the ending but what I will do if OMG heart renching good and bad. I would deffo recommend its absolutely amazing.

frenemies to lovers with a whole lot of nefariousness to avoid

Eleanor just got accepted to a prestigious musical theatre program in London for a year and has to leave behind her boyfriend who is upset that he didn’t get in. She is making new friends and frenemies with the person who used to live in her new flat. He’s got a lot of trauma but might be willing to open up to her to help heal until she unknowingly brings new trauma’s right to their door.

I wasn’t expecting such a deep or suspenseful book when I picked it up but it was sooo good! Loved the spice and the emotions. There was so much character development, even in the side characters which is so hard to do when you’re focused on a main couple. Please tell me there’s is a second book because I need to see Connor have his HFN!

Meet Me at the Metro by Savanna Jade is a contemporary romance about Ellie, an international performing arts student adjusting to life in London. She meets Theo, a guarded pianist whose mysterious past creates both tension and intrigue. Their relationship faces challenges as they navigate personal trauma, betrayal, and hidden motives. Set against the vibrant backdrop of London, this story blends romance with themes of healing and personal growth, promising emotional twists, plot twists and heartfelt moments.

This was such a good read! While it was 475p I felt like it just flew by. There wasn’t any lulls in the story that bored me to where I felt like putting the book down, quite opposite actually I literally had such a hard time taking breaks from reading it. John is a tool, Kim is a see you next Tuesday, I love Evie and Harvey they are such a vibe, Connor is the friend every girl needs, then there’s ‘Nora’ and ‘Teddy’ *swoon*. I loved Nora and Teddy, the way they brought the best out in each other while still being able to be snarky and sling witty banter. The plots twists blew my mind I was not expecting them at all, one of them when it was about to happen I kind of guessed but I was still shooketh. I’m hoping to see a budding romance with Connor and Evie in the future!

This did NOT read like a debut novel in the slightest, the storyline caught me so quickly and flowed so well.

@savannajadeauthor wrote the characters so well that I was convinced they were based on real people.

The story starts with Ellie heading to London to study abroad and doing long distance with her longtime boyfriend, John, who was waitlisted for the same college Ellie was now attending.

You will hate John and that's not even a spoiler, he is written as an insecure twat that's meant to be hated, trust me.

Ellie and Theo love to hate on each other, total grumpy-sunshine vibes.

Listen, I don't want to spoil this for you, it is such an amazing story!

It's got so many amazing elements that all mesh perfectly: ❤️ emotional hurt
💖 PTSD/Anxiety/Mental health Rep
❤️ Love
💖 Attempted murder
❤️ Stalking(not the sexy kind- we don't like this)
💖 Spice

DNF’ing at 50% because all the unnecessary italicization of proper nouns aside, I refuse to read another 200 pages of her creepy ass ex stalking and physically harassing her while she pretends it’s not happening.

DNF @26%
I was absolutely ECSTATIC to get this ARC book, but it was a huge letdown. I wanted to DNF this book at about 8%, but told myself to at least read until 50% to see if it got any better. Let me just tell you, I could not make it that long and the book in fact did not get better. This book was just so…boring. I know it was so early in the book but I feel like there was just no substance to the characters and it was just so wordy. I had to skip so much bc there was like a whole page describing the room she would be staying in. And then you turn the pages and it’s like “a month has gone by” like whattt??? They were just in the middle of something and then we skip a month? Honestly I was just surprised. And Theo, the MMC, was literally so mean. I know this is enemies to lovers, but he was so mean for literally no reason. Like he makes her fall in their first meeting and yells at her for no reason. And then their relationship would be getting towards kinda friend territory and she would say something and he would go off on her. Like why??? Yea it was talked about that he had his own issues and problems, but that doesn’t excuse him for being absolutely so rude and mean all the time. And to the FMC no less. Honestly there is just no way that I could suffer through this book any longer and had to ultimately DNF.

Now this is a book to eat up. First of all, mister tortured musician? Come to mommy—I’ll take care of you. The brooding, the angst, the vulnerability? Chef’s kiss. Do I wish it was spicier? Obviously. You know me by now. But honestly, seeing a male love interest be emotional without the book punishing him for it? Revolutionary. Plus, healthy friendships? We love to see it.

That said, the villain reveal? Didn’t totally work for me. It felt a little rushed, and the ending left me wanting more in a way that wasn’t entirely satisfying. Resulting in 3.5 stars for me… But did I still devour the book like it was my last meal? Absolutely.

As an avid reader of young adult romance, and really any kind of romance- I was invested from start to finish. I have rarely found an author that pulls you into the story, making it feel less like just a really good book, and more so making it feel like you’re reading about people you’re really friends with. I have read (and re-read) this book at different points of its conception, each time being reminded of its humor, emotional intelligence, and true thrilling nature. I’m so heavily impressed by the author, and cannot wait to read more!!

ASSDFGHJKSJASSFHK!!! SCREAMING, CRYING, THROWING UP RIGHT NOW. THIS BOOK WAS SO AMAZING I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN😭🤚

after Harvey died I had a hard time trying to pick this book back up because I adored Harvey so much but I am SO HAPPY that I picked it back up. The ending was so beautiful and it made my heart melt seeing all of them still together ten years later🥹🥹🥹 AND KIMBERLEY??? HELLO??? did not see that coming, that was an amazing twist😩🤌

this is all i’m gonna write for now but i’m gonna write a longer review later cuz this book was just so damn good🤭

DNF
This was just painfully boring. I was excited to read it, so I was giving every chapter a chance to wow me but it only left me disappointed and bored. The overuse of italics simply annoyed me. I’m not sure if the author is British but I can guarantee people from London at least don’t speak the way they do in this book. The pacing of the book is confusing because if you blink too fast, you’ll miss the one sentence thrown in the middle of the page that its a month later…not even a page break or nothing. The two main characters were boring af.

Meet Me at the Metro was such a good book. It’s the type of book that allows you to fully escape. It shows so much growth between the characters. Every character was dynamic even the horrible ex and wicked step-mother.

I loved the opportunity to visit London via this book and follow Ellie and Theo throughout their journey.

I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced reader copy from this author. My thoughts and opinions are honest and voluntary.

Well, this book took a turn that I was not expecting, and I was here for it. This story follows Ellie Mattice, an American college student studying abroad in London and Theo Pearson, Ellie's roommates' friend and fellow university student.

There was so much push and pull between Ellie and Theo, and I was looking forward to when they would snap and give in to their attraction. Ellie was the sweet sunshine to Theo's "grumpy pants" demeanor, and I enjoyed every minute of their banter. Theo came off as a jerk at first, but once the layers were peeled, this mas proved to be so much more and out came out the swoon.

Meet Me at the Metro was an enemies to lovers rollercoaster, and Savanna Jade totally shocked me with that plot twist and edge of suspense that kept me locked into the story.

ARC Review:
⭐️: 5

I absolutely love the banter. Theo is the type of guy who just has people drooling. It was so entertaining seeing how worked up Nora became because of his jabs/flirtations.

Theo is so incredibly reassuring to Nora and vice versa that it had me melting🫠. The smut was smutty and oh my lordy was it incredibly amazing 🙇‍♀️

The writing was amazing and the plot was just what I look for in a book❤️‍🔥

Thank you so much Savanna Jade for letting me read this eARC it was absolutely amazing; 10 out of 10 would recommend 😍

I loved this book so dang much. From all the feels Ellie is going through, to the rough times Theo has had. The amount of times I had tears in my eyes is more than I could count on my hands.

All the right words were said, all the moments were ones that people can dream of experiencing, and I loved every single second of this book.

Savanna knew just what she was doing with this story, and I cannot wait to read whatever else comes next from her 🩷

This book was honestly one of the best romances I’ve read so far.

I was not expecting the plot twists that followed this story. I didn’t really know what to expect I guess. I just keep seeing it, and the author posting about it.

I definitely recommend.

And thank you -savanna jade. For this beautiful book.

I am so happy I was given the opportunity to read an ARC of this book! I absolutely loved it. I loved seeing the way that Evie and Theo help each other break down their walls and be a safe place for each other. The twists at the end had me holding my breath to see what happens next. Probably one of my favorite reads of the year.

Meet me on the Metro was an excellent enemies to lovers roller coaster. When Elenor moved to London to attend college, she didn’t know that one jet lagged moment would ruin her relationship with her new flatmates friend Theo. He’s a grumpy jerk but hides a sweetness about him. He does a great job of making me hate him one minute to redeeming himself the next. Is Theo a brooding jerk? Is he also a protector? Yup, he sure is. This book and the characters and their struggles have depth and are well written.

Such a good story! I felt connected to the characters which is the number one thing that hooks me into a book. All the twist and turns made me feel on the feels. There were parts that made me smile and parts that I had to reread once I calmed down bc my eyes were anxiously skimming to know what happens!
