Keala Lōkahi-Price is overworked and underappreciated. Despite her passion for choreography, she’s accepted it can only ever be a side gig. As time goes on, she’s finding it harder and harder to juggle her demanding jobs, her health, her happiness, her one-sided competition with her younger brother, and her new annoying breach-of-contract risk.
Landon Beaumont, playboy and tight end for the San Jose Sentinels, has long accepted that he’ll never escape his brother’s shadow. After years of trying to prove himself in his youth, he learned he’s better off not putting in the effort. Only, the frustratingly enticing cheerleader he keeps running into has him second-guessing his priorities.
After a one-night stand gone wrong, Keala is determined to avoid Landon. As a Sentinels cheerleader, fraternization with the players is expressly prohibited. In spite of her best efforts, unforeseen circumstances keep pushing them together, and the more they talk, the more challenging it is to deny their connection.
As the pressure to be perfect intensifies, Keala begins to unravel. Resisting Landon becomes nearly impossible, but the consequences of giving in could cost her the only thing she’s ever loved...

another of the run of the mill sports romance that hit the spot anytime, any day.
keala, the fmc, loved her character, she did much growing during the story and i truly enjoyed it. she is the first hawaiian fmc i’ve ever read and i wish we got to see more of her culture but i loved it.
onto more of the plot, her whole conflict with making her parents proud and becoming who she believes she should be to them vs her doing what she loves and not doing what other people ask of her all the time was a very realistic and i enjoyed that.
seeing how much she overworked herself to the point of exhaustion to be able to be both of those at the same time was saddening to me because she was putting what she loved on pause. i was so glad that it was resolved in the way it was and she got her happy ending.
landon, the mmc, i honestly really liked him too. i feel like often times mmcs can be portrayed as “flawless” in comparison to the struggling fmc but this was not the case. landon sealed with his own trauma and hardships that impacted who he was and how he perceived himself.
seeing him go to therapy and finally have a meaningful conversation with his brother was amazing and i was so happy that he also got to grow as a person.
this is a book that i would totally recommend the whole forbidden romance aspect of the story was well executed and resolved and i really enjoyed myself while reading.

The perfect ending to a beautiful series by one of my best friends! This series has a special place in my heart and it's going to forever leave its mark.
overall rating: ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ spice rating: 🌶🌶️ relatable rating: 🤧 too close to my heart
Keala, our hard working girl who is also a huge people pleaser. Relatable. Works as a nurse practitioner to fulfil her parents of her wanting to be a doctor whilst her heart longs to do choreography as a full time job. But when she decides to go out and have a one night stand to ease some of tension she's had and with no time to find a boyfriend, a one night stand sounds about right. And who better to do that with than the playboy himself, Landon Beaumont, her cousin's teammate... but when the night ends up in her blurting out her life story, she high tails out of there, thankful she'll never see him again... or so she thinks.
Landon, our Tightend Playboy who leaves a string of broken hearts, finds himself longing after he one night stand that never happened and the wonderful girl he met... until he learns that they'll be neighbours and work for the same team. Her a cheerleader and him the football player. What a delicious trope. Landon finds himself longing for her, because he had never had anyone open up about themselves to him before. Landin wants Keala to do it more, with him.
Keala, who works so damn hard, covering shifts or taking on the brunt work for others and is always late needs a release. So who better to do that with than with the playboy himself? But when Landon is sweet, caring, hot as sin and makes her food because she can't cook to save her life... she worries she'll develop feelings... and she can't with her crazy schedule. But when she finds she wants to find safety and comfort in Landon... to hell with the rules.
Landon, who talks to a therapist about his struggles with this horrible father (we hate Mr. Beaumont!) and how he felt he had to fight for attention after his mother passed. How he uses his charm and flirtatious personality to stop others from seeing the real him. but with Keala, he wants to be better because she makes him a better man. This man says things like, "You think I'm a star?" or "You're telling me I'm special because I'm the only one in your life who bothers you like this?" MANS IS A SILLY LITTLE LOVE SICK FOOL!!!!!
Lan and Keeks banter is so fun and a good time but the moments when he just wants to be around her and is MISERABLE when she won't look at him makes me a puddle of swoon. You're telling me this tough playboy is super ooey gooey inside? Oh yeah! Landon leaves her STICKY NOTES ON HER MEAL PREP CONTAINERS HE DOES FOR HER!?!?! AND HE WEARS SILLY APRONS! Ugh I love him.
Also, Landon telling Keeks to ate what she wants in the bedroom and to not overthink!?!?!? Letting her have control! YES! YES! YES! I love a man who isn't afraid to let their woman take charge and lead and roe so turned on by it! YES LORD YES!
I also love the cameo's we get of Maya and Colton! Landon and Coltons strained brother relationship is purely because they both felt the pressure from their father and Colton was trying to protect Maya and Landon by having the attention on him! I sobbed when they finally hashed out their issues. Landon needed it to heal! The way Keala and Landon opened up about their pasts had me sobbing! Keeks - because she desert want to keep pursuing being a NP but she wants to make her parents proud after her older brother disappointed their family even though she loves choreography and dancing... she feels so burnt out and I'll tell you... I know what Keala went through! Landon opening up about his mom and how he learnt everything he knew about cooking because of her and how much he misses her. These two healed each other in the best ways possible.
Wen Keala broke things off after something that sparked her trauma from her cousin's sisters death... she can't take it so she leaves, telling Landon she can;t do this, but instead of him being angry at her, he waits for her to be ready to explain... but she when works herself into the ground and has a low sugar episode and passes out at a game. Landon spirals and wants her to be okay, realising he loves her too much to not wait... and Keala knows she loves him just as much and is ready to take her life into control.
This book had me sobbing, laughing, cheering, clutching my pearls and feel seen. Landon and Keala are so special and the whole Beaumont Legacy is a perfect series. I am so greatful to have found Val and be part of the journey in helping support such a wonderful series.
Thank you Val for letting me be a BETA and ARC reader for you. I love you to the moon and back and I am so excited for the next step in this journey!
#Review: *Tumbling over the tight end* - Vai Denton - ARC [18+] 4.6/5✨ 2.5/5🌶️
Because last year I read the first 2 books of this 'Beaumont Legacy' series, I needed to read this last one. Thank you so much Vai Denton for accepting me to be part of your ARC team!
Keala was staying in the same apartment as her cousin Akoni. Being in the cheerleading team, Keala was forbidden to fraternize with any football player, her cousin being the exception. But he was best friends with Landon, one of his teammates, who was spending pretty much time with Akoni, therefore, in Keala's close proximity too.
A secret and forbidden relationship forms between Keala and Landon, which made fall in love with this story. Landon will soon change his playboy status into an obsessed boy one, becoming addicted to Keala. This relationship was super sweet, loving to see how they became so attached to each other.
I found Akoni super funny, with his personality and his discreet way to indicate that problems must be resolved🤭. I felt a little bit sorry for Keala, being forced to overwork herself, because she wanted to make her parents proud and be just as briliant as her siblings but, at the same time, to follow her love for dance too.
Honestly, this was my favorite book of this series, the dancing side definitely being something I adored. I everything regarding dance and I loved those parts. This romance story had something beautiful to it, making me to get attached to Keala and Landon, loving everything about them.
Full disclosure, I decided to read this book because I got an itch for a forbidden romance between an NFL football player and cheerleader after watching America’s Sweetheart on Netflix. That entire series is fascinating, especially the unfair non-fraternization clause in their contract, and this book completely scratched that itch.
With that said, I love how the author explored what it’s like being a cheerleader in the NFL. It’s also so cool that the MFC is an RNP, a job I had no idea existed before this book. I felt the exhaustion that Keala went through juggling two physically demanding jobs. The thing that I don’t like is that she’s very emotionally immature, and she made me want to pull my hair out sometimes.
I love Landon’s family problems coming to a resolution and the beautiful scene he had with his brother at the end. Major points with the he cooks or her trope!
Speaking of, the author hits all the tropes in this book nicely. I like the characters are all people that’s easy to root for, like in the first book, but there’s a lack of improvement writing-wise that left me wanting more.
This is an overall lovely book and a nice resolution to the series. I skipped the 2nd book, but that didn’t really affect my enjoyment of this one. Highly recommend, especially to fans of America’s Sweethearts.

Who says a kiss can’t change your life? Keala and Landon steal your heart from the get go in this final book of the Beaumont Siblings.
They both struggle with wanting their parents acceptance, but as we all know and love - therapy works wonders.
They both had good character growth individually and together. Keala learns the hard way to shed her people pleasing ways while trying to balance a career as a nurse and cheerleader/choreographer. And Landon lets his brother and sister in finally as he learns to leave his playboy ways behind, ditch the voice of his unsupportive father, and open up to not just his therapist, but the woman he is falling for.

Thank you Vai for this eARC! Happy (almost) pub day!!
First, a huge thank you to the author, Vai Denton, for an ARC of this book! I really appreciate it!
Side note: I keep going back and forth between 4 and 3.5 stars, so I thought I’d mention that. But honestly, it doesn’t matter because I really enjoyed reading this book! When I started, I didn’t realize it was technically part of a series, so I probably would’ve had an even better experience if I’d read the others first.
Keala’s character is just so, so relatable to me. I completely understood everything she said and did, because well… I’m a fellow people pleaser. Her banter with Landon was great, but what really got me were the moments when he was absolutely miserable without her. Like… the man prepared food for her so she’d have something to eat during her busy days. And he left sticky notes with cute messages on them? And he wore silly little aprons with funny sayings while doing it? Yeah. A dream.
I also loved Ikaika, Keala’s cousin. He’s adorable.
What I appreciated most was how Landon truly saw her for who she was and made sure she felt safe with him. Watching her find someone she could just be with—without feeling the need to put on that people-pleasing persona—made me so happy for her. And all the while, Landon was dealing with his own struggles and coping mechanisms. He loved her even in the moments when she didn’t feel worthy of it, which made their connection even more special. The emotional depth, the character growth—it was just beautifully written.
My only critique is that a few parts felt a little slow.
If you have people-pleasing tendencies, you might relate to this just as much as I did. But honestly, I’d recommend it in general, hehe.
A sweet ending to a great series! I have loved reading all of the books in the Beaumont Legacy series. Keala and Landon’s romance was cute. I loved seeing how their relationship progressed. This book also had amazing character growth.
I've been enjoying this series and for the most part really enjoying each book. But this book was my favorite, hands down.
Vai can do something many authors cannot do (yeah, I said it). Write a romance book in third person. Now, I'm a 1st person girly, that's never going to change. But will I read 3rd from Vai and will it slay? Absolutely. Girl knows what she's doing.
Now. This book. Between the delicious slow burn, the back and forth teasing, insults, flirting, and banter between Landon and Keala - I kind of ate this up.
Keala was such a complex FMC. The girl was STRESSING ME OUT. Like, babe, take a minute to BREATHE. I commend her for taking on so much but I just wanted to grab her shoulders and look in her the eyes and say "STOP. RELAX. DO WHAT YOU LOVE UGH!" Do I wish she realized this way quicker? Of course. But did the girl have some major character growth? SHE SURE DID.
I loved her relationship with Ikaika. I also really loved him and I loved that he wasn't like "my cousin is off limits". Like he just wanted his friends to be so happy and that made me so happy. He's a true one and I loved him.
Now, the man of the hour. Mr. Landon Beaumont. The man had me giddy. I loved what a cheeky little jerk he could be. I also love how quick this man went from "I will love no one" to "Well, I mean...I could love someone". AHHH *kicking and screaming* This man fell and he fell hard. I love that so much for him. He had such a great storyline and I've been looking forward to his story.
Another character who is so complex and with so many issues he needed to work out. But I loved his growth and I loved what a caring man he turned into. Something about him really got to me and I just really rooted so hard for him.
A few quirks here and there for me (i.e. the rules against fraternizing and some repetitiveness with some storylines) but this had me so captivated that it clearly didn't change my opinions.
Oh, also, I am in love with the secret little notes. I thought that was such a cute added bonus. And the aprons!! OH AND THE SPICE!
I enjoyed this one a lot and seeing as this took me basically a day to read, you bet your booty I recommend this!
Thank you so much to Vai Denton for the e-arc copy!!
✨ ARC Review ✨ Tumbling Over the Tight End by @vaidentonauthor
4.5 ⭐️ 1.5 🌶️
Okay for my first Vai Denton, I absolutely loved this book! And I may have discovered a new specific trope I loved “forbidden via no fraternization”. Loved it in Mile High and loved it here too!
Keala is an over-worked, chronic people-pleaser and boy did I just want to give her a hug the entire book. Homegirl just needed someone (like Landon) to help her learn to chill out and learn to tell people no. I adored her friendships with Cora and the other girls on the Sirens too!
Landon, the younger brother of another NFL football player, thinks he’s always living in his brothers shadow and will never be good enough. Ever the play-boy and masking his feelings with humor - all until Keala comes along and he begins to open up.
Watching these two imperfect people fall in love was an absolute joy! As this was my first Vai Denton, I enjoyed getting to see Landon’s brother and sister in this book as well, and I’m definitely interested in going back to read their stories!
If you’re a fan of any of these tropes, I definitely recommend checking this book out! 🏈 cousins best friend ❤️ he falls first and harder 🏈 forbidden romance (no fraternization) ❤️ reformed playboy 🏈 NFL player x cheerleader ❤️ neighbors to lovers
Tumbling Over the Tight End is released on April 10th and will be available on KU and paperback! The first two books, Gridlocked on the Gridiron and Love on the Line are both available now!
Oh these Beaumonts!! I loved this book so much!! This whole series is so good and I could not be more happy that I randomly decided to apply to read for Vai Denton!!! This book was so good and just felt so raw and so real!! Keala was so incredibly relatable and I just wanted to wrap her in a blanket make her stop and take a breath! But I also so understood her people-pleasing, overthinking ways! And I loved how she was able to recognize how true of a safe place Landon was able to be for her! And Landon was such a sweet soul, and getting to see him do so much work for himself, on top of taking care of Keala, was so beautiful! Him recognizing what the benefits that therapy had for his siblings and had on his own life in real time, was so incredible to watch! I loved watching these to come together and grow together! Getting to see them learn accept what their needs and dreams were was so beautiful, and I loved getting to see them support each other so wonderfully! And getting to see the Beaumonts again, was so great!! I really loved this book on the whole, and I am so glad I got to be part of it's journey!!! 4.75 stars; 3 chili peppers
Tropes: - Secret Relationship - Workplace Romance - Hurt/Comfort - Cousin's Best Friend - Reformed Playboy - NFL Player x Cheerleader
Five absolute freaking stars. I loved it! I'm so happy and thankful I got to be an arc reader for this one 🥹
I think it's a great third installment in this Beaumont Legacy series. I loved Keala and Landon's story and I enjoyed reading it so much! Both characters feel rounded and you get to know them deeply. I could relate to Keala's struggles and felt so much for her, and for Landon too. Their banter is so cute and it was so much fun to follow. Oh I loved their romance and how he cares for her and shows her. Also the tension! There was a lot of tension and chemistry between them and you can feel it as you read it. I was BEGGING them to finally give in and kiss.
Overall I definitely recommend reading this book. I had a great time, I connected and related to the characters and the tension between them had me on the edge of my seat. Bear in mind it's the third in the series, in case you're like me and prefer to read books in order even when they're all standalones. In any case, whether you're familiar or not with Vai Denton and her work, definitely, DEFINITELY pick this one up. I think it's my favourite out of the three 😍
✨ ✨ cousins best friend ✨ forbidden romance ✨ nfl cheerleader x player ✨ chronic people pleaser ✨ he goes to therapy ✨ he cooks for her ✨ almost one night stand to benefits to lovers
This was so so so sweet. A first book to me by this author and certainly not the last 🥹 I adored every minute of Landon and Kealas story, how two very flawed but real characters brought out the best in one another. Seeing exactly who each other are to their core and being what they need to help themselves.
Keala is chronic people pleaser, never being able to say no and wanting everyone to like her. Even at the expense to herself. And I love that Landon sees the small things she needs and helps her because he knows shel never ask for it. And that she becomes someone who makes him feel safe to be vulnerable. Someone who pushes him to be better and do better for himself. I love much emphasis on how our childhoods don’t need to define us in this story.
The plot was so much fun. I love the banter between these two and how they balance each other out perfect. And the addition of some of my favorite side characters, Ikaika the cousin, Cora as a good friend to Keala and Landon’s siblings.
Releases April 10th and a must read! Run to preorder 🥹
Overall, I think this book is a wonderful sports romance, I am personally just not a huge fan of third person. I don’t feel as connected with the characters as I want too! BUT let me tell you!! I love Landon and Keala is so cute! I love how much of a hard workers she makes the FMC in this book! As someone with a full time job and a plethora of other responsibilities it was nice to read about the realistic side of chasing dreams but also having to work hard!! This book is definitely worth the read for my people pleasers out there!
ARC Review!! This was my first Vai Denton book and will not be my last. I enjoyed how Keala and Landon both had growth throughout the books despite having a beautiful romance that grows. The banter in the first half of the book was so fun to read and the slow burn was part that didn't annoy the reader (and I'm a reader that doesn't like a slow burn).
Keala made me stressed at times because of everything she took on her plate (Girlie, take a breath because my stress levels soared reading this). Without spoilers, let's just say that she found her voice by the end of the book.
Landon was so relatable when I thought he wouldn't be. He struggled getting out of his brother's shadow while dealing with childhood trauma. A MMC that goes to therapy? Love it. He made me giddy so many times while I was reading about him.
The side characters were also chef's kiss. They were funny, supportive and added to the story without taking away from the plot. There was one scene that made me very upset (read the trigger warnings for more information) that I wish had a little more consequence written but I still loved the book as a whole.
Great sports romance. I liked that the characters grew so much in the story and were able to come together in the end. I enjoyed the spice, banter, family, hurt
ARC REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶 1.5 This is the third in a series of three bit that can be read as a stand-alone. I was to say thank you to @valdenton for letting me be an ARC for this book. It was my first book of yours but will not be the last TROPES Workaholic MFC X playboy MMC Cousins best friend He falls first Forbidden romance-due their jobs Football romance TRIGGERS Death of family-only talked about Alcohol Drug - talked about
This book follows Keala, a workaholic and people pleaser, and Landon, a playboy, turned on x tight end. Keala moves back home and into her cousin Ikaika apartment because she is finally able to live out her dream of dancing for the Sirens and the only Football player she can have anything to due with his her cousin. She ends up getting close to Landon when he moves into the apartment across the hall. However, they did meet before this. Has hard as she tries to fight it she ends up with feelings for him only after he has fallen for her first. He ends up cooking meals for her so she has healthy food for her day job as a nurse practitioner. If you love football romance, then check out this book.
Tumbling Over The Tight End is a forbidden sports romance between an NFL tight end and cheerleader on the same team! Keala is a busy Nurse Practitioner trying to find happiness while also trying to please everyone but herself. When she meets Landon, her cousin's friend she finds someone she can be herself with and show her non perfect side.
Landon is a reformed playboy that is scared to get close to someone but has so much love to give. After an almost one night stand with Keala he can't get her out of his head.
This is a really sweet romance with a lot of character growth in both main characters! If you like sports romance like me I think you would really enjoy this!
Thank you so much to the author for letting me read this early as an ARC!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 thank you thank you Vai for letting me ARC read this, it was an honor! i love a good sports romance, though i haven’t read many cheerleader x football player ones, and this one lived up to my expectation. keala and landon were both beautifully written characters with such good depth, that it was easy to learn and love them both.
Keala, my people pleasing perfectionist, oh how i love you. seeing her find someone who she could just be herself with and not have to put on a persona of who she thought the person wanted her to be was so heartwarming and made me so happy FOR her. her love for dance was infectious and getting to see her live her dreams out after struggling with the decision the whole book was so rewarding.
and Landon, the heartthrob turned lover. I think he was written extremely well and getting to see him struggle with his own self worth issues, alongside keala, and find solace in keala to help him through it was just beautiful. it was awesome to see him kind of grow into himself and realize his potential.
overall i loved this book so much and would absolutely recommend people read it when it comes out!! if you are a fan of these tropes:
✨ duel pov 🩷 he falls first 💐 cousins best friend 🤭 forbidden romance 🏠 neighbors to lovers 💋 reformed playboy and many more…
then this book is for you! again thank you Vai for letting me read this baby early and can’t wait for release day!
This was the first book I kicked off 2025 with and what a way to start! I was so incredibly lucky to beta read this one and I can’t wait for the re-read! Y’all aren’t ready for this, more in-depth review to come after the re-read :’) I love them is all I will say for now <3
Back for a full review. I was so incredibly lucky to help beta read this book for the dance aspects and have the opportunity to help Vai bring Keala's background in dance to the pages. Which is a note that sometimes in books the dance aspects can tend to be clunky or feel out of place but I think Vai did a WONDERFUL job of working in the technical aspect of these cheerleaders and bringing it to it's full potential on the page and giving it the flowers that it is due.
But moving on to the real reason I loved this book. Keala and Landon, separately and together. There were so many moments that I loved the characters individually and would gladly throw myself onto the train tracks to take away their hurt. My little people pleaser Keala, who is just trying to do everything she can to help those around her and leaving herself as the sacrifice in their place. It made my heart ache, but that's what made the moments that Landon does all the little things for her that much more fulfilling. Like he cooks and meal preps for her because she doesn't have time. Stop it right now.
And my baby Landon. Living unwittingly in the shadow of his brother, in a role he didn't audition for because of the media. What if I get these journalists fired? For those headlines, I might just have to. I loved the moments that Keala and the other people in his life really showed him that they cared about him because of his heart and not because of what he could do for them. Get behind me Landon, I'll protect you.
But then, heavens above. Them together. All the banter, all the tension, all the heartwarming moments. The pumpkin carving, the cooking, the nights in the apartment, the almost one-night stand. There's so much more that I could say about this story but I'll leave it at this. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS ONE. Especially during football season, it just hits different ;)
Edit. I still think about this book all the time. Might have to do a re-read soon :')

My heart. THIS BOOK! 😍 My first time reading Vai Denton and it absolutely will NOT be my last! I could not put this book down!! I devoured it IMMEDIATELY! This is the kind of book that has characters that readers can relate to on a deep level, and you can truly feel what each of the MCs is going through as you read their story. And I truly think that’s what makes this book so good.
Keala is the picture perfect people pleaser. Always doing for others while neglecting her own needs and wants. Her parents wanted her to become a doctor so she foregoes her dreams of being a choreographer to become an NP. And while she loves her job, it’s not her dream. She’s also a pro NFL cheerleader, which is something that feeds that desire she has inside. But, juggling both careers has her burning both ends of the candle and headed straight for a major burnout. To ease some of the tension she’s feeling in life, she decides to go out for a night of fun. Deciding that a ONS is exactly what she needs to reset. And there’s only one choice for this night of fun…her cousins teammate Landon…
Landon is the NFL’s gorgeous playboy. Making moves on and off the field and never afraid to get his hands dirty. But the truth is, Landons image is just a shield for how he struggles. Using hookups and fights to hide the fact that he never feels good enough for anyone or anything. Constantly feeling like he’s living in his brothers shadow.
Kaela is ready to get her ONS on with Landon when she decides to purge her life story to him instead (as an over sharer I felt her pain 😩). Shes mortified and runs out before anything can happen. She thinks it’s the LAST time she’ll ever see him. But she would be wrong. They not only end up being neighbors but working for the same team.
They should stay away from each other , the team has a no fraternisation rule, but they can’t seem to keep away. Landon feels like he’s found someone he can finally be himself around and take care of. And Kaela feels like she has someone who doesn’t expect her to be anything other than who she is and adores everything about her.
I love the way Landon cares for her. He’s definitely an acts of service man and he does not need to be told what to do. He just does it because he wants to and cares for her. And Kaela makes sure he knows how amazing she thinks he is everyday. Words of encouragement for sure!
There IS a 3rd act breakup. And it made me CRY. I know the feeling of wanting to push someone away because it all feels like too much and like you’re losing focus and control. But Landon is right there for her…waiting with open arms. Never rushing or pushing her. And it just made me love them more. They make their way back to each other and learn to heal those broken parts of their past together ❤️

Another Vai Denton masterpiece that left my heart in a puddle on the floor. 💔💞 Honestly, Landon’s story was everything I wanted and more — soft and strong, chaotic and kind, perfectly tangled with Kaela's journey. Add in that signature emotional pull Vai Denton does so well (seriously, how does she always do this to us?! 😭) and I was sobbing one minute and giggling the next. The whole vibe felt like a warm hug and a heartbreak all at once — in the best way possible.
What I Loved About This Book: Landon’s Soft Strength 🏈💙 Landon starts of as your usual tight end pro football player. Until he isn't. He’s vulnerable, complex, and so full of heartache that you can’t help but fall for him. His internal battles, his need to live up to expectations — it was so human. I just wanted to wrap him in a blanket and tell him he’s enough. 😩
Kaela’s Journey 💉✨ Can we just talk about Kaela? Her storyline added a totally new flavour to this world. A nurse, a cheerleader, and a woman just trying to be enough — it made her so relatable. Watching her open up and make her decisions throughout the book I could not help but relate to her.
Emotion, Emotion, Emotion 💔😭 The emotional depth here? Immaculate. From grief and guilt to love and letting go — this book made me feel everything. Like I was holding their hearts in my hands.
Romance that Builds, Not Burns 🥺 The romance didn’t explode — it simmered. Slowly, sweetly, and so satisfyingly. Honestly, it’s one of those where you watch love bloom instead of it hitting like a freight train. And it felt soooo real.
The Tropes: Sports romance 🏈 Cheerleader x football player 📣 Forbidden romance 💕 He falls first 😍 Reformed Playboy Emotional healing 🩹
Tumbling Over the Tight End by Vai Denton is another emotional rollercoaster that delivers all the feels with just the right mix of angst, love, and growth. If you're a fan of sports romance with real depth and messy-beautiful characters, this one will absolutely steal your heart (and maybe stomp on it a little too 😅). Vai Denton, you’ve done it again. 🏈💔💘
I freaking adored this book so much. I didn’t want to put it down. Why? Because it was written so freaking well. Landon and Keala were a joy to read about. I just felt so many emotions, and feelings for them. I just wanted them to win and have each other. By the end of the book, I was shedding tears because of how adorable they were.
The story really is powerful. Imagine two people who have spent their lives living in the shadows of their siblings, wanting to please parents, and hiding behind masks. Keala’s struggles really hit close to home. She worked herself to the bone, trying to please others, and ended up so unhappy. This was so realistic and I felt like it made her so human. I understood her character, and even though at times I wanted her to get it together, I knew where she was coming from. She cared about family, and her wanting to make sure that what happened with her cousins sister, didn’t happen to others was very heartwarming.
Landon, my sweet Landon. I’m pretty sure he is my favorite of the series. I don’t think anyone can compare. Can we just take a moment to appreciate the sticky notes? The cooking? Like the man was down bad for her. And he went to therapy to get help. I was in love. Landon deserves book boyfriend of the world. The way he slowly started to get better because of her, really showed his characters arc. I was very impressed with how he really turned his life around. He was so adorable and I just wanted him to have it all. I loved when he baked with her, when he would open up to her, and when he made sure she could keep her job. My freaking heart was in tears.
I loved the concept of her being a dancer. When people write sports romance, they dont consider dance but it is. So I really loved that element. I also loved that growth and healing were such major themes in this story. And they overcame them together which made me love it even more.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read, with a lot of heart. Thank you Vai for this story, and I am so proud of you for your series. I can’t wait to see what you do next.
i was very fortunate to receive an ARC of Tumbling Over the Tight End by Vai Denton. All opinions are my own and given freely. ❤️

“i don’t want to be your friend, because i want to be more. i want to be with you. only you. i don’t know how to do this, but with you, i want to try.”
i’m so incredibly sad this series has come to an end. i had the privilege of being an arc reader for the entire series and have fallen in love with each and every character and their story! there are not enough words to describe just how much i adore this series and vai!! from her debut to now, vai has just continued to blow me away with her writing and i’m forever grateful that i stumbled upon her instagram and applied to be an arc reader! this book was the perfect ending to such an amazingly beautiful series. i hope everyone adores this series and falls in love with the characters as much as i did!
keala and landon will forever hold a special place in my heart. they are both such relatable characters and the way vai wrote them made it so easy to understand and feel what they were both going through. their connection felt genuine but full of tension, tenderness, and the sweetest shared moments. and when they both finally opened up to each other about their pasts, they truly helped heal each other in the best way. and while this does have a 3rd act breakup (that actually crushed me and broke my heart) it was all worth it in the end!
i simply cannot recommend this series enough!! i’m so excited to see what vai does next!! once again thank you so much for giving me the chance to read tumbling over the tight end early!❤️
I have come to love football romance, and this book really hits all the right notes, embracing some clichés with charm and heart. The classic tale of the football player and cheerleader unfolds beautifully, but it’s the depth of the characters that truly makes this story shine.
Keala is so relatable; she’s overworked and underappreciated, juggling her passion for choreography with the reality of demanding jobs. I felt for her as she struggled with keeping everything together while also trying to prioritize her own happiness. It’s great to see a protagonist who's not just a love interest but a strong woman navigating life's challenges.
And then there’s Landon, the charming tight end whose character growth is a highlight of the story. He’s dealing with family pressures and figuring out who he is beyond that. Their chemistry is undeniable from the start, and watching them navigate their ups and downs was a fun ride.
The "will they, won’t they" tension kept me turning the pages, and I loved how the plot dove into Keala’s internal struggles. Their relationship isn’t just about desire; it’s about supporting each other and facing fears together, which I really appreciated.
I couldn’t help but laugh at their antics, especially when Keala tries to resist her attraction to Landon. The stakes felt real with her career on the line, and the tension surrounding their forbidden romance had me on the edge of my seat. I’m so glad they decided to embrace their feelings despite the potential fallout.
Having read the ARC for Landon and Maya’s book, I’m definitely pumped to dive into Colton’s story next! This read has reignited my excitement for the series. If you enjoy a fun sports romance with relatable characters and a sprinkle of humor, Tumbling Over The Tight End is a must-read!
Thank you to the author for providing an advanced copy.
I really enjoyed the final book in the Beaumont Legacy series. It's sweet, thoughtful, character-driven, written in third-person dual POV, and contains a few spicy chapters (23, 27, 33). I read this book in a single day because I simply couldn't put it down.
This book is a tender exploration of love between two complicated humans. I love how Vai Denton builds her romances. She gives us characters with layers, exploring their personalities, thoughts, pains, and trauma. She doesn't excuse their flawed behavior but explains it, letting us see their humanity. Their struggles are acknowledged, navigated individually through the mental health representation Vai usually weaves into her stories. The character growth is shown in how the characters handle situations and how the relationships, whether romantic or otherwise, shift as the story progresses. It's messy. It's real. And when the romance develops, it's all the more meaningful.
Perfectionism, people-pleasing, and the pressure to meet others' expectations are heavily explored topics. The triumph of the love between Landon and Keala, rising above their own issues, was, in my opinion, beautiful. Nothing about their relationship was easy, making their love feel honest and earned.
A beautifully executed ending to a great series. Highly recommend this book and the entire series.

My favorite quotes: "If I'm successful in society's eyes, in my parents' eyes, then I'll be happy." 💔
"You can just be. Live life for yourself."
"Even if I'm not looking at you, know that I'm smiling for you."
Tumbling Over the Tight End is a charming, witty, and heartwarming story about Landon and Keala that’s packed with banter, humor, and moments that tug at your heartstrings. Their chemistry is undeniable from the start, with Keala’s “I cannot stand to be around you” attitude and Landon’s persistence in wanting to break through her walls. The book masterfully showcases their contrasting personalities—Keala’s struggle to balance her demanding healthcare career and Landon’s striving to be the best tight end all the while showcasing his acts of service love language, especially his thoughtful gestures like leaving her food with Post-It notes. These small acts of kindness, particularly for a healthcare worker with no time for herself, add an extra layer of warmth to the story.
While the romance builds through their interactions, the book also explores heavier themes, like burnout and the difficulty of prioritizing personal needs when constantly giving to others. Landon’s support for Keala is evident as he steps into her world and helps fill the spaces where she feels empty. The tension near the end when Keala pulls away to focus on work, pushing Landon to give her space, felt like a natural conflict, but the resolution through honest communication felt satisfying.
The book also has a lighthearted touch, especially with moments like when Keala faints, which felt like an inevitable twist. And in the end, Landon, the reformed playboy, proves he’s ready to commit and go the extra mile, even saving the day to help Keala keep the one thing she loves most—dance.
Overall, it's a sweet, fun, and touching read that blends romance with relatable struggles, all while delivering a satisfying payoff.
