Opposites ignite...

Where relationships are concerned, Safire Lewis is like quick fire. She moves fast to get what she wants--then moves on before things get too complicated. Artist Darien James's laid-back charm arouses her interest from their first meeting. But instead of seizing the opportunity for a no-strings fling, he's looking for a commitment.

Darien has been hurt before. Now he wants a passionate connection that will last. With her sizzling confidence, the gorgeous paralegal has become his artistic muse--and the ultimate temptation. First they're butting heads, then they're burning up the sheets. He won't settle for less than everything Safire has to give. And if she will only lose her fear of letting go, she might realize that Darien is the one man who'll keep her endlessly enthralled....

Oh man, their clothes!! She’s always wearing 2.5 inch heels or very specific heel heights and a bolero and miniskirts with beaded/lace rhinestone edging. He’s always wearing a T-shirt and a patterned vest. Rofl. The best is his orange pants and orange pullover set. Or maybe the multicoloured harlequin patterned vest/jeans with writing combo. This must be an 80s reissue?

She stays with him after she’s mugged and he tells her she’s asking for it/to dress more modestly and wear longer skirts. Never seen true love conquer that before.

I know that everyone has issues to deal with, and they seem to surface especially when a relationship is beginning. In Darien's and Safire's case, hers was more extreme than his. As I say with all relationships, trust is the key to it being successful. Our two lovebirds had to admit those issues to themselves then trust the other one to move past them so that they could be together. When the old saying says, "opposites attracts", they must have thought of Safire and Darien. Nice story.

Safire and Darien both have been hurt in the past. They use the love they have for each other to heal. They both thought it wouldn't work but they went on vacation together found that it did. This is a fast pace novel with lots of love in it.

"A story with a twist, this tale reverses the gender roles and shows a woman content to play the field. The author’s ability to show Safire’s vulnerability makes for a well-rounded character and storyline" (RT Book Reviews). 4 stars

Captivated Love

I truly enjoyed this book. To find love is a awesome thing. This was one of those stories about two people having love a losing it in different ways. But they have to learn how to compromise!

This book moves much too slow for me. I couldn't get into the characters. It's just an ok read, I've read better by this author.
