Just finished FOREVER HER HERO by Belle Calhoune and let me tell you this book is a truly brilliant story, professionally written, entertaining and exciting , with intriguing characters. It is a page turner, that's for sure and if you don’t have it on order yet, let me suggest you go right now and order it! You will not be sorry! I have never read a book with so much heart, it had me laughing in places and crying drippy tears, especially at the end - tears of happiness, of course! I love happy stories and great endings! What woman wouldn’t love the main character, Sawyer! He is so male, so brave and capable, so tender and loving, thoughtful, sensitive, faithful, plus tall, dark and handsome! After the death of Ava’s husband, Billy, she and Sawyer, as well as Billy’s parents blamed themselves for Billy’s death rather than accepting it as an accident. They all wondered how the sun was still able to shine or how the world could go on spinning on its axis. But they learned that thru it all, God was with them and as they cried out in the darkness, God was there, listening to them, pulling for them and guiding them through the storm! FOREVER HER HERO should have 10 stars! I loved every word of it and feel sure you will also.
"A lifetime's treasure awaits you!" And it sure does in Belle Calhoune's latest romantic novel. A love lost creates a fear in Ava Trask's heart to look for another love...or maybe re-consider a past love. Forever Her Hero really showed me the spectrum of love in all its golden phases. Romantic love is really a dot on that spectrum and does not constitute its full meaning. The relationship between Sawyer and Ava prove love is boundless and I really enjoyed reading about their journey from the simple, pure love in childhood to the moment their hearts expanded for more. Well done!
I just got back from a sweet trip to Cape Cod provided by the talented Belle Calhoune. In life we are taken on different paths, some because of choices we make, others due to times we don't speak up or a tragedy derails our plans and hopes for the futures. Calhoune did a masterful job of taking her characters through all the emotions of miss opportunities and guilt, dealing with lost love and finding love again. The ending was so enduring I slowed down to savor each moment. This is most definitely a treasure trove of love.
The cover on this story is so pretty! I usually love Belle’s stories but this one was a bit of a miss for me. I liked that Ava and Sawyer had been besties since their childhood. Their history and chemistry was sweet. However the family complications were a little much for me. I would have liked the story better if Sawyer and her deceased husband hadn’t been related.
Love this second book by Belle Calhoune, all about second chances and overcoming grief. It really doesn't look like Sawyer and Ava will ever get over the past that haunts them, and I wondered quietly how they would get past all their differences. Ava is naturally bitter over losing her husband, and then bitter towards Sawyer for other reasons (don't want to put in any spoilers). The friendship that she and Sawyer enjoy, though, is really wonderful. I kept rooting for them to overcome their differences for their HEA. A great work by the author.
I enjoyed reading this book. This is the second book I have read from this author. And totally enjoyed it. It's a story about forgiveness. What kind of forgiveness?? Forgiveness of oneself. Sometimes things happen in life that cause us to feel guilty and life seems to stop. But this story shares with us what to do when that happens. I recommend this book and if you haven't read Reunited with the Sheriff I also recommend it. I can't wait for Ms Belle Calhoune next book.
Wow. Just. Wow. "Forever Her Hero" was an incredibly warming and heartfelt inspirational romance that I absolutely loved. It was truly amazing. The storyline and characters were incredible and they drew me right in from the very beginning. I loved Sawyer, Ava, and her two adorable six-year-olds, Casey and Dolly. The characters, especially Sawyer, could not have been more perfect in my opinion. This was my first Belle Calhoune novel and it will most certainly not be my last!
Forever Her Hero was my first Belle Calhoune book, and I must say, I am deeply impressed. The story is not an easy one, and that's what I felt most compelling. Stories about redemption are the hardest to write believably, and hardest yet the most rewarding to read. Kudos to Belle for writing a book that encompasses all the stages of love and breathes such life into the concept of forgiveness.
I enjoyed reading Forever Her Hero. A guy, Sawyer, and a girl, Ava, were best of friends since childhood. They would do anything for each other. she falls for another guy and marries his. Now has six year old twins. Her husband died in a boating accident. Sawyer and Ava realize the strong feeling they have for each other. This is the ups and down of romance and guilt. A must read.
This was a cute love story between two best friends. I was wondering was Billy jealous of Sawyer and Ava friendship before he married her. Also, why she did know about his drinking problem? This was a Goodreads win.
Just Finished Forever her Hero, I could not put it down! The love Shows between Sawyer and Ava from the Very beginning of the book. This is one of the best books I have read in a while. Great Job Belle Calhoune!
What a sweet and tender story! The poignant emotions of the hurting characters pulled me in. I loved the genuine portrayal of the children too. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of this author's work.
This was the first book I’ve read by this author and the cover is what drew me to read this book first. Ava and Sawyer, best friends since childhood, both carry guilt around that they needed to let go of so they could move forward. Ava’s twins, Casey and Dolly, a lighthouse, Buzzards Bay Harbor and two hearts that overcome tragedy and their guilt made this a five star book. I will definitely be reading more of Mrs. Calhoune’s books.
Since childhood Sawyer and Ava were a team. Ava married cousin Billy, an alcoholic. Guilt by both Sawyer and Ava kept creeping into their lives until one night when both knew they could never live without the other
I wanted to love this, new author with quite a few books....but it fell short. I was bored with the constant backstory and inner dialogue, with not much actually happening.
I liked this book's storyline. I liked the Christian ✝️ theme in this story. I liked Ava's character. I liked Sawyer's character. I loved ❤️ Dolly & Casey. I liked the ending.
Good book. I enjoyed the characters, the setting and the ending. Would love to visit Cape Cod some day. Looking forward to reading more of the author's work.
I've been curious to read this book by Ms. Calhoune, because of a similarity to a few of my earlier books. I drew upon the theme of military heroes in the Coast Guard in my sweet (but sensuous) closed door series, and I wanted to see how hers took an inspirational tone. I definitely liked it.
This book was powerful in its emotion and the struggles Ava and Sawyer had in finding their happily ever after because of longstanding tensions and guilty feelings that existed between them.
Sawyer was her best friend from childhood. Her late husband Billy was his cousin.
After Billy died, Ava lost her faith in God, her sense of community and belonging, along with in her ability to trust herself to have a relationship again. Sawyer lost the confidence he had in himself to be a good friend to her, when he wanted more and when he felt wracked in his own guilt over wanting her.
Notwithstanding the guilt and misunderstandings, a crisis brings home to each of them just what is truly valuable about themselves, each other, and their community. They each have a lot to offer each other. Their newfound faith in God, themselves, and their relationship will support them along the way.
I am not much impressed with the narration as scenes are predictable. If we want to read some thing cool expecting a happy ending we can read this novel.
Not really my cup of tea. There wasn't much dialogue, the climax was way over-dramatic, and there were paragraphs and paragraphs of repetitious thought...
